The DE Awards

Well, it is that time of year again. April is coming to a close and it is time for our 2008 DE Awards. In this annual event, currently in its 5th year, you the viewers choose your favorites in a series of categories including favorite Disney Enquirer Article and Best Disney Website. ~~Voting is open to registered users only~~ (but don't worry if you are not registered, it is free and easy to complete). So register or log in now and go on over to The DE Awards Voting Booth. ~~Voting closes May 14, 2008.~~ The annual DE Awards Ceremony will be posted sometime later that month.

UPDATE: For now, voting will remain open throughout the rest of May and June. A more specific end date will be announced shortly.

Disney has announced an aggressive slate of 10 animated films from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Studios throughout 2008. The slate includes release dates of previously known films and brand new films. Among the films include Pixar's first fairy tale and the first year in which Pixar will show two new movies. In less than 24 hours, the name will join the likes of Epcot Center and Mickey's Birthdayland, nothing more than another moment in the history of the Walt Disney World Resort. For all our viewers who celebrate, we would like to wish a Merry and Joyous Christmas Day. In this time of giving and togetherness, let us not forget the true meaning of the day. And in what may possibly be the worst segue ever, we'd like to give a brief reminder that the Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade will air from 10am to 12pm on ABC. And in a related note, the annual Yule Log will air on the CW from 9am to 1pm.

Man Dies While on Everest

UPDATED INSIDE: Forty-four year-old Jeffrey Reeb of Navarre, FL was found unconscious and unresponsive when his train stopped at the unload area of Expedition Everest in Disney's Animal Kingdom around 12:50 Tuesday morning. Reeb became unconscious within the final 50 seconds of the attraction. Disney officials inspected the ride and found no problems. However, Everest remained shut for the rest of the day and is expected to reopen Wednesday. (The official report found inside)...
