Where to get those things or magic gimmicks? I.T. aka invisible thread...

When I was just starting to do magic tricks, one of the problem i was always facing is "where can i get those magic trick gimmicks?". I can just buy if I want. There are Magic Shops in the internet like ellusionist, penguin magic, jaysankey's, etc,, but what I wanted is to have a limitless supply is those gimmicks and so i think...

One of the most popular magic tricks gimmicks is the Invisible Thread and starters like me were having a problem finding one. And so started exploring and started experimenting. I have tried using lots of kinds of different things, from our sewing box up to the strap of a bags ( given their color are dark or black). And then there comes a ribbon. Yes, ribbon is the answer to my "IT"(invisible thread) problem. You can use any dark colored ribbon, my favorite is dark green. Most ribbon are made up of hundreds to thousand numbers of very fine and all you have to do is rip ( in tagalog is tastasin) one. If you can find a dull or non-glossy ribbon, that would be the best.

Liquid Metal - Visual bending of silverware using your mind

This magic trick is so cool once you master it. I told you it is cool because you can find spoon and fork almost everywhere. In a fast food, in a restaurant, on food court, etc. And the trick is very visual that spectators would request that you do it again. Here is a hint, before you do this magic trick ( or some called it mentalism ), do not tell them what they would see( avoid saying like: Look! I am gonna bend this spoon with my mind). And do this as slow as possible.. Blow them away. That is how to bend a spoon with your mind.

Floating Card Trick without strings

This magic trick is all but presentation. Gimmick can be easily made and materials are so cheap. Though not the greatest trick out there, lay man and beginners who were just starting in doing magic really would love doing... By the way, this trick can also be done using your atm, credit card, ID card, school card, etc. And works better using double adhesive tape instead of stick glue.

Playing Card Trick, "Without Playing Cards"

Presentation and effect: The performer starts his patter
"You have seen or heard of many ways in which a performer can ascertain what cards have been
selected by his audience. I have developed a science which gives me 100% accuracy without seeing a
card, touching a card, in fact, without using any cards at all.
I would like you to participate in this demonstration, and I hope this will entertain and give you something
to think about!
Now Simply follow my instructions.
Ready?

I want you to think of any card in the deck, got one?
Good now double its value
If it's an ace count it as one, two as two, etc., up to
ten. If you think of a jack the value is eleven,
Queen is twelve, and King is thirteen.
Now, after doubling its value, add one and multiply this total by five.

You done that?
Good!
Right now do this

If the card you were is
a spade, add nine to the total;
if it is a club, add six;
if a heart, add eight;
if a the diamond add seven.
As soon as you have your answer tell me the number you have in your mind but of course not the card
you are thinking of, Ill do that part hopefully."

The Spectator says “74” You say, "Your total is 74; then the card you thought of was the 6 of spades.
That is correct, you say? They answer “YES”
Another spectator has 131, and he thought of the queen of clubs.
Another called out 82 was thinking of a 7 of diamonds.
You are correct everytime without failure, in fact if you get two or more thinking of the same card, really
milk it for all it’s worth!!! It does happen, a lot more than you would think it does!

The Secret:
The final total announced by the spectator will give the performer the clues to both suit and value
of the selected cards.
If the total ends in 1, remember that it will be a club;
if it ends in 2, it
will be a diamond;
if it ends in 3 will be hearts,
and if it ends in 4 will be spades.

The first number, or the first 2 numbers minus 1, determines the value of the card.

For example, the number that the first spectator called was 74, and this proves to be the 6 of Spades
(doubling its value made it 12, adding 1 made it 13, and multiplying by 5 gave him 65. Adding 9 for
spades gave a final total of 74.)

The last number being a 4 indicates that the selected card is a spade.

A further example: the value of the second card called was 131.
The final 1 indicates a club;
The first 2 numbers are 13(minus 1 makes 12, and 12 means the Queen);
therefore, the card is the queen of clubs.

To be certain, when you start your demonstration, impress upon your audience with the idea of
concentrating on the selected card and also to listen to your instructions.
It is also important to make it plain that the ace counts as 1, 2 as 2, etc., up to 10, after which the jack
counts as 11, queen as 12, and the king as 13.
You can vary the presentation in a mixed group by asking the ladies, for example, to think of hearts and
diamonds, and the men, spades and clubs.
Using this system--if a lady calls out a number, you will know that the selected card will be either hearts or
diamonds. This effect can be done with as many people as you like.
You can perform it with many people at the same time getting them to call out their numbers and as they
do you just tell them their thought of card. It is the speed when doing it for a group of people that is
impressive, it is also useful for leading into a mind reading demonstration, you could indeed even state
after performing this trick then that maybe if could be solved with maths, then go into another mentalist
routine that would make this seem even more impossible , thus shelving the idea that it could have been
maths…..

The history of this trick is really unknown but a mention of Blackstone would be disrespectful if we did not
mention his name as a credit.

If the instructions seem a little complex, simply write or print out the formula and the
code for the suits and glue it to the side of a card box.

u knew that they would have picked the card they did as there is one card face do
wn in the pack…then take out the invisible
deck and BANG! You nail them on 2 levels…..Believe me this kills.

* This is a gimmicked routine that is very good in every productions you may know. Can be done anywhere and looks very sweet! Gimmick can be made at your home. However, it is not recommended for young magicians 17 bellow. I am 20+ yrs old and I get burns the first time is do it. But over all it is great!

Impromptu Magic and Mentalism (book test)

Book Test Tutorial

The Effect:
A spectator chooses ANY two books. He keeps one and you get the other. You turn the pages in your book until he stops you. You tell him the page number and ask him to look at the first word on that page in his book. He does, and after concentrating for a moment, you reveal the word he is gazing at in his book!

How it works:
Begin by asking a spectator to pick any volume from a shelf of books and to hand it to you. Once he does, ask him to choose another book. When he turns to get the second book, you open the one you are holding to somewhere in the middle and note the page number and first word on it. You do this quickly and then, quietly close the book. When the spectator turns around with the other book, take it from him and hold out both books at arm’s length. Ask him to “point” to one. If the spectator chooses the first book – the one in which you’ve already noted the page number and first word, simply hand it to him. If not, say to him, “Good. I’ll take this one and that leaves this one for you.” To the deeply initiated this is the horror of horrors, “magician’s force,” not to be shunned, and not even recognized by magicians when performed with confidence and urbanity.
You now begin paging through your book and tell him to say, “Stop,” whenever he wishes.
It doesn’t matter where he stops you – you simply LIE and say whatever page number you previously noted in his book.
You should make it a point, not to stand too close to the spectator. Stand at least a few feet away and tip the book toward him as you repeat the page number. Don’t worry; he couldn’t see the page number with “bifocal binoculars” anyway. Just make sure you begin paging through quickly enough that by the time he stops you, you’re somewhere in the middle of the book. That way, the spectator will not be able to discern any discrepancy between the page number you’re telling him and the actual page number he stopped you at. Remember, you must do this boldly and with complete confidence. That’s what counts most! Once he looks up the “same” page in his own book, have him concentrate intently on the first word on the page. Note, if it’s the kind of book that has a repeating chapter heading at the top of each page, tell him specifically to concentrate on the first word of the first paragraph.
Give him some time to focus on it. You may want to feign some brief difficulty in initially reading his thoughts. Don’t overdo this, though. After a few moments, slowly SPELL the word and then, say it. This helps build the drama. Whatever you do, don’t just blurt it out as if you knew it all along!
So you have it, a completely impromptu, yet astonishing book test. And it really can be done anywhere. Think of all the places that have or sell books – from airports to hotel lobbies or even a prospective client’s own office. And no one can ever claim that you prepared for it ahead of time.

- lets talk about the rubber band magic first. The great Daniel Garcia is reall a great magic teacher, no question, he is really gifted when it comes on magic. This time he used the over looked trick called Crazy Man’s Handcuffs to start the routine and end it with powerful Slink. Both were thought well little by little and bit by bit routine by routine. So many options that he will gave you and so many tips shared on this topic, you cannot have it any better with any teacher.

a very very easy trick to perform coin trick or mentalism. Few seconds setup is all you need, coins can be borrowed and coins can be signed. Yes it is all true! Daniel has given it all for you on this DVD. The tricks were thought so well that after watching it you may run out side to perform it right away. It is about the confidence that this teacher will give you.

Over all rating:

I say its to your taste in magic or mentalism. This might not be too god for anybody, but I will tell you, the effects or reactions you will get generally depends on your own performance. Definitely no gimmicks needed, no props, no fire magic, magic supplier, and costumed playing cards needed. those things that you will use is already in your house! Its a great trick and I will gave it a grade just under ten.

9/10 stars for this trick!

Its Magic in the house!
First of all, we all want to congratulate Joe Russel of who ever invented this trick. This trick is pure genius. And the effect is really disturbing. The fact that the effect is a roof raising boom! You would not believe how easy it is to create the gimmick, and whats best is the materials needed for the effect... chances are, its already around your house. If not, you can buy them almost anywhere. This trick really got me. I rate this 10/10 stars!
