“Last March writer David Peisner and I went down to Havana, Cuba, to do a story on the local extreme metal scene. Our visit coincided with the 6.6.6. Fest, a two days metal festival, where we got to witness some of the most prominent black metal bands in the country live. We were welcomed into the community as they talked to us about the state of rock music and politics in Cuba.

As well as the Cuba story, I have also contributed on an article about the Montreal DIY loft scene, featuring artists such as Grimes and Mozart’s Sister.

The new May/June issue is out now.”

Some of the shots were picked up by Crack Magazine from Bristol UK for their cover story on Grimes.

The portrait series continues this year, with recent sittings with Dirty Beaches, Kandle, Cadence Weapon and Arcade Fire.
