Kansas is going to be a joke this year.

There, we said it. And the Jayhawks football team heard us. Needless to say they were not to happy... at the basketball team. And they proceeded to beat them like a drum.*

Katie Summers, Tulsa junior, said she was shocked when she saw the altercation as she walked to Anschutz library.

"It was so intimidating to have these insanely big football and basketball players shouting at each other," Summers said. "I just ran to the library and got out of the way."

In the end we got guard Tyshawn Taylor with a dislocated finger.

The Promise

Mrs. M2M has bought us a cable package that will allow us to see virtually any college basketball game we want!

To all college b-ball fans we are truly sorry for the lack of posts this off season. We were hoping for at least one post a week. That was our goal, something we've done prior off seasons.

But we promise you one thing, a lot of good will come out of this cable package we now have. We promise that you will never see a group of bloggers write as hard as we will once the season starts. We promise we will make more snarky comments, bullshit analysis and predictions than anyone else.

Even if the game is in it's 6th overtime we will push ourselves to stay awake trying to record fans acting stupid.

No, this blog is not going away. You wish.

But I did. It's Gabby, one part of the writing crew here at M2M. And no, I'm not going away from this blog either. I just left the place where I founded this blog.

Ok, see I have lived in Los Angeles for about 20 years. And because of job stuff I find myself here in Richmond, VA with Mrs. M2M. Not a huge shock for me because I was born in Hampton, VA which is about 80 miles from Richmond. So I know what to expect from the area. I was reading the awesome Snarkastic and she just moved from LA too and her post inspired me to do a similar post. Because I have no original thoughts of my own. So, here are the things I will miss the most being away from the city of angels...

1) Sunset Blvd.

This is where I first started partying at 18 years old. And this is where I had my last big night out with my friends 20 years later, eventually ending the night at Toi Thai. The restaurant that is so popular they need a doorman as well as a hostess. The choices between bars, restaurants and clubs still boggle my mind. But my fav was...

2) Red Rock

Don't tell Mrs. M2M but this was the place I probably met the most ladies at when I was single. I use to go here BY MYSELF before I knew anyone in the area. Oh, and the food is kind of good too.

3) The Arclight (formerly known as the Cinerama Dome)

Where else can you have a three star dinner, get liquored up, stumble a couple of feet and see a synapse-melting blockbuster movie on a two story high screen all in one building? That place.

4) Club Violaine. The Mayflower restaurant afterward. Locals hangout. Enough said.

5) 3.5 Hour drive to Las Vegas.

6) Elegance has a name and it is Takami. If the sashimi doesn't blow you away, the view will. I'm starting to weep a little.

It's been fun Los Angeles, but now it is time for me to settle down. Get in that good southern country living. Taking it slow.

Wow, this Pitino thing has taken a wild turn. What sounded like some chick trying to extort a successful college hoops coach has gotten some legs (and then some):

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP)—The woman accused of trying to extort Louisville men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino approached him in a restaurant, and the two had sex later that night the coach told police. Two weeks after they met, the married father of five gave her $3,000 for an abortion.

The Courier-Journal of Louisville reported on its Web site Tuesday that Pitino told police he had been drinking at the restaurant and had consensual sex with Karen Sypher.

You are now probably wondering "He's at a restaurant and in the course of a couple of hours ends up boffing another patron stuffing their pie hole? How does THAT happen?"

The coach met Sypher when she approached him and asked him call her sons with words of encouragement, and the coach obliged, he said. Later that night, the restaurant cleared out, and the owner left the coach his keys. That’s when they had sex.

Ah yes... Treat the kids nice to get that MILF muffin. And that is some price to pay for a freakin' phone call. "Yes, I'll talk to your rug rats on the phone. But it will cost you my semen swimming up your vaginal canal." The most amazing part is the potency of coach Pitino's sperm! One shot and Ms. Sypher was with zygote.

We haven't gone away. Yes, the postings have been a little sparse as of late but we have a good reason. Our main contributor (Gabby) has moved from Los Angeles to...

...well, to here. Gabby says it was job related but we think otherwise. No matter, there can be some pros and cons to this -

Pros:
3 hour drive max to any ACC game
Lower cost of living means more money to spend on booze
Cleaner (air, people, etc.)
BBQ country

Cons:
Booze is controlled by the gubmit
Nothing to do if no basketball or football on
No more Takami Downtown
It's still the south (thinking of Deliverance)

At least Gabby excapes the dominance of USC/UCLA. Cheers and 100 cocktails to you as EDSBS would say. We will begin our 1 or more postings a day on the cusp of the 2009-2010 basketball season. In the meantime our summer posting schedule will be limited until Gabby gets settled.

Yeah, a little late but we wanted to point out some interesting quotes from the now jobless Tim Floyd.

In April, Floyd spurned an offer from Arizona to fill its coaching vacancy, saying he was staying at USC. A year ago, Floyd was offered the coaching job at his alma mater Louisiana State and turned it down, saying at the time, "This is my last job at SC."

The day he met reporters to say he had rejected Arizona, Floyd said, "This is still my last job."

While Floyd did not directly say he quit because of the Mayo scandal, we believe he did. But that is not the point. We raised those quotes because he seemed serious that he will never coach again after USC. He will be made out to be a liar.

And why would we think that? Hmmm.....

Syracuse, NY -- A former walk-on member of the Syracuse University football team remained in custody today after being charged in additional break-ins in his south campus neighborhood.

Chris A. Basile, 22, of 351 Winding Ridge Road, initially was charged Thursday with breaking into an apartment at 410 Winding Ridge Road about 5:30 a.m. that day.

Lawyer Jeffrey DeRoberts said one of the victims was SU basketball player Andy Rautins.

For those who are late to the party, Wall is a ridiculously gifted high school senior that every college wants to get their paws on. And Mr. Clifton is saying that Wall might not be another one-and-done NBA thug? C'mon, we're not the fools you take us for. At least some of us.

Wow, what's next for the languishing Southeastern Conference? They already knew how bad they sucked on the court, now they know how bad they suck in the classroom too.

Men's basketball programs at Alabama and Auburn each fell below the NCAA mandated cut-off line in annual Academic Progress Rate scores released Wednesday.

Auburn was docked a scholarship for not reaching the NCAA's standard of 925 points out of a possible 1,000. Coach Jeff Lebo's Tigers scored an 899.

Auburn's AD gives the usual "unacceptable" line here. Which to us is kind of like saying it was "unacceptable" for your friend to have driven your new car off a cliff. *zing*

We think the proper response is what are you going to freakin' do about it (and we think the answer will be probably nothing).
