Summer was great but rather short for me. August was the best because we spent a lot of time at the pool and having fun in the sun.

I’m not going to take a class at LVS this fall because I don’t see anything I like. I loved Bean’s PHP 101 class and hope to find more of the same some day. An Illustrator class would be fun, but not *SS. Also, I’m short on cash for buying new software. I’ll continue to study with my friends in the forum and hope to begin using my skills to design better web pages soon.

My youngest son (now 8 yr. old) decided to jump off the swing with his neighbor buddy and broke his right arm. It’s a good thing I didn’t see it because it would have been etched in my mind forever. I shudder to think of it. Apparently they were trying to jump over bicycles even.

Needless to say, that just spoils any chances of us all going to the pool this summer. That is, if it ever warms up enough to want to. My poor little guy is doing so well with using his left hand that I’m beginning to think he may be ambidextrous.

By Friday, I felt well enough for a trip to Coshocton Ohio, where we visited with my husband. Dan has been working there and renting an apartment since Febuary.

Saturday, we met with my sister Darlene at the Walnut Creek Farm to see the many animals including, buffalo, llamas, giraffes, deer, elk, monkeys, baby ducks, a parrot and goats. We had a great time but better had I remembered to bring  my camera. We had my husband’s Kodak and didn’t notice the SD card wasn’t inside the slot so we bought disposible cameras that I haven’t developed yet.

Sunday, my husband was off and we took trip to his friend Jimmy Conway’s farm. He had baby sheep there and they were all gated near the barn so we had easy access to them. They are the sweetest things and I would have liked to bring two home if I had shelter set up for them. I don’t know how they would have liked riding home in the back seat though.

Yikes! I wouldn’t want to be anywhere in the state of Mississippi on Thursday!
Henry is my favorite meteorologist. Hes always looking for a Big Daddy type storm to report and many times has been wrong. However, there are more times hes been right! I love listening to Henry talk about the weather and I learn so much along the way.

California plant recalls 1 million pounds of pistachio products
salmonella strains were found last week during routine test by Kraft Foods, one of about three dozen companies that purchase pistachios from Setton Farms …”

Kraft Foods reported the findings to the FDA and so the other companies, some even smaller companies were lucky enough to find this information before someone was killed.

Does this mean that Setton Farms is to blame? Its not always the fault of the growers. Since the investigation is still active we can’t know if the entire 3 million pounds of product was tainted. The problem would most likely be caused by the distributors or infected trucks transporting the goods.

So, why buy named brand food products? Because, I for one am a proud sponser of companies that go that extra mile to make their products safe for the public.

I would like to hear other people’s thoughts on this subject.
