Turtles die after ingesting plastic bags

Today researces estimate that there are about 18,000 pieces of plastic bobbing around in every square kilometre of ocean.

Every day, ships throughout the world jettison 5.5 million items of waste into the sea; three times as much rubbish is dumped into the world’s oceans annually as the weight of fish caught; every year an estimated 7 billion tonnes of rubbish enters the world’s oceans; an autopsy on an eight-metre Bryde’s whale in Queensland in 2000 found that the whale’s stomach was packed with six square metres of plastic; and between 700,000 and one million seabirds are killed from entanglement or plastic ingestion each year. That’s without mentioning the one million plastic bags that are consumed per minute globally.

Sea turtles are particularly susceptible to the effects of marine rubbish due to the internal structure of their throats and die a slow and painful death. The plastic gets trapped in the gut, preventing food from going down and the spines prevent it from coming back up.
The trapped food decomposes, leaking gases into the body cavity and causing the animal to float.
The turtle then slowly starves to death or succumbs to other secondary life threatening conditions such as boat strike.

Sea turtles eat all sorts of things, and one of their favourite foods are jellyfish. But unfortunately, a plastic bag under water looks exactly like one of these delicacies. The turtle swims up to the ‘jellyfish’ and before it knows what is happening it has fallen victim to the killer bag. Turtles often get entangled in the handles or swim into the bags, unable to find their way out again.

Nothing new, already seen, but always hot!

The person who is able to terminate the life of innocent animal, deserves the biggest punishment.! With suche asadistic impulses, the wicked can not be better not even to people. Violence against animals is an indicator of aggression towards people. Killing animals is a crime !

They have their lifes just as well as peple have. Researching all those remarcable and horrible data about the destruction of animals, I came to the conlusion that man is the biggest pest and the worst product of nature.

Dolphins and whales are located in a very high level of destruction. People are killing dolphins for food or for they see them like the biggest fishing rivals ? It is the truth that dolphins follow tuna fish...The fisherman let the dolphins surround the fish and gether them close to the ships. When they use the help of dolphins, than start their massacre ! In some of Japanese fishing villages ( and not only there ), locals gether everu year to kill hundred and thousends of dolphins, in the most cruel way. After they allure these poor dolphins in small caves in the bay, fisherman direct all the attention toward the female with young. Surround and isolate them and then cut their throats or stick spears in them. Unfortunatelu, the dophins do not die immediately, but suffer a few or more minutes before. The water turns red, takes the color of blood. Brutal sloter take six months during each year ( from september to march ).More than 20.000 dolphins and whale is killed in this period of time...

How can people have the heart to be killing innocent beings that harm no one ?

And for the last, I wan't to mention that - to see the dolphin, means good fortune and long life ! Many of you belive in that - so do I......

When I am tired and depressed, I like to eat somethin sweet. In that name, I decided to write the word of one of the largest specialties that the human mind detected.Chocolate.Mmmmmmmm ...

Word chocolate means bitter water, and is derived from the Nahuatl language which is still spoken in Mexico and El Salvador. Story started more than 3000 years ago. The nations of Central America used cocoa bean as a means of payment ...as well as raw materials for the bitter drink enriched with vanilla, cayenne pepper and other spices. During his fourth trip to America in 1502. Christopher Columbus arrived in Nicaragua. He is the first European who discovered the cocoa bean. Fully burdened his dream to discover the way to India, Columbus just not showing any interest in this discovery!

In 1519, Hernando Cortez won the part of Mexico. Cortez , just like Columbus, is not showing any interest in the aroma of cocoa. Interested only in the fact that it is a means of payment he decide that can be planted so that the money could grows . In 1528, he is bringing to Spain the first cocoa seeds and machinery for their processing.

When a Spanish princess married to Lui XIII in 1615, the chocolate enters the big door of France and became a favorite drink on the palace.Crossed the La Manche in 1657. The first chocolate shop was opened in London. While cocoa slowly wins the world, chefs are trying to make chocolate confectionery.

1697. chocolate arrives in the small country hidden in the Alps. Mayor of Zurich is home from visits to Brussels and brings chocolate drink of heavenly taste. Industrialization chocolate begins in 1780, but not in Switzerland! The first factory was built in Barcelona. During this time, Swiss make chocolate drinks in small workshops, and the Italians gained the glory of their European chocolate specialties. The first chocolate factory in Switzerland was opened in 1819. year. Cailler, which is learned trade in Italy,opened it.

The next big step in chocolate history is specialty in mixing chocolate with milk. Believe it or not, noone came up to this idea till 1875. Swiss Daniel Peter commercializates the first milk chocolate, and in 1879, Rodolphe Lindt products the first chocolate panel, which is melting in the mouth. At the beginning of the 20th century, Spain lost its reputation of the greatest manufacturers of chocolate ... The two countries are now taking the role of leader on the market. Belgium - with its famous chocolate and Switzerland with the better known milk chocolate. Today the Swess are the biggest chocolate consumers in the world !

Venezuelan hot chocolate

1.Tip the cacao and water into a small pan and bring to the boil, stirring frequently.

2.When thick and well combined, remove the hot chocolate from the heat.

3.Add honey or sugar to taste. You can thin the hot chocolate by adding extra water or vary it by adding a splash of milk or rum. Vanilla, chilli, cinnamon and nutmeg also make great additions.

Thirty people died and more than 30 missing is the provisional assessment of the strong earthquake that occurred at dawn in the province of Abruzzo in central Italy, including five children, according to the Italian police and civil protection services.

"Thousands of people are likely to remain homeless after thousands of houses collapsed or suffered serious damage," said Agkostino Miotzo, officer of the civil protection services, and there are estimates that the number of victims will increase. More than ten thousands of homes and buildings affected by the earthquake, according to preliminary estimates by the fire brigade. Thousands of residents took to the streets or gathered in land area, fearing strong metaseismous. Many of the small streets in the old town of L'Akouila excluded from the ruins of houses kataplakosan parked cars. It collapsed and modern buildings in the city. A shadow is an area where direct light from a light source cannot reach due to obstruction by an object. It occupies all of the space behind an opaque object with light in front of it. The cros

section of a shadow is a two-dimensional silhouette, or reverse projection of the object blocking the light.
An astronomical object casts human visible shadows when its apparent magnitude is equal or lower than -4. Currently the only astronomical objects able to produce visible shadows on Earth are the Sun, the Moon and, in the right conditions, the planet Venus.

The farther the distance from the object blocking the light to the surface of projection, the larger the silhouette (they are considered proportional). Also, if the object is moving, the shadow cast by the object will project an image with dimensions (length) expanding proportionally faster than the object's own length of movement. The increase of size and movement is also true if the distance between the object of interference and the light source are closer. This, however, does not mean the shadow may move faster than light, even when projected at vast distances, such as light years. The loss of light, which projects the shadow, will move towards the surface of projection at light speed.
The projected shadow may appear to have moved faster than the speed of light, but there is no actual physical manifestation moving upon the surface. The misconception is that the edge of a shadow "moves" along a wall, when in actuality the increase of a shadow's length is part of a new projection, which will propagate at the speed of light from the object of interference. Since there is no actual communication between points in a shadow (except for reflection or interference of light, at the speed of light), a shadow that projects over a surface of large distances (light years) cannot give information between those distances with the shadow's edge.

Mediterranean diet

The most commonly-understood version of the Mediterranean diet was presented by Dr Walter Willett of Harvard University's School of Public Health in the mid-1990s. Based on "foodpatterns typical of Crete, much of the rest of Greece, and southern Italy in the early 1960s", this diet, in addition to "regular physical activity," emphasizes "abundant plant foods, fresh fruit as the typical daily dessert, olive oil as the principal source of fat, dairy products (principally cheese and yogurt), and fish and poultry consumed in low to moderate amounts, zero to four eggs consumed weekly, red meat consumed in low amounts, and wine consumed in low to moderate amounts". Total fat in this diet is 25% to 35% of calories, with saturated fat at 8% or less of calories. The diet is often cited as beneficial for being low in saturated fat and high in monounsaturated fatand dietary fiber Although it was first publicized in 1945 by the American doctor Ancel Keys stationed in Salerno, Italy, the Mediterranean diet failed to gain widespread recognition until the 1990s. It is based on what from the point of view of mainstream nutrition is considered a paradox: that although the people living in Mediterranean countries tend to consume relatively high amounts of fat, they have far lower rates of cardiovascular disease than in countries like theUnited States, where similar levels of fat consumption are found. A parallel phenomenon is known as the French Paradox.
One of the main explanations is thought to be the large amount of olive oil used in the Mediterranean diet. Unlike the high amount of animal fats typical to the American diet, olive oil lowers cholesterol levels in the blood. It is also known to lower blood sugar levels and blood pressure. Research indicates olive oil prevents peptic ulcers and is effective in treatment of peptic ulcer disease, and may be a factor in preventing cancer. In addition, the consumption of red wine is considered a possible factor, as it contains flavonoids with powerful antioxidant properties
The principal aspects of this diet include high olive oil consumption, high consumption of legumes, high consumption of unrefined cereals, high consumption of fruits, high consumption of vegetables, moderate consumption of dairy products (mostly as cheese and yogurt), moderate to high consumption of fish, low consumption of meat and meat products, and moderate wine consumption.
Michael Pollan suggests the explanation is not any particular nutrient, but the combination of nutrients found in unprocessed food.
Dietary factors may be only part of the reason for the health benefits enjoyed by these cultures. Genetics, lifestyle (notably heavy physical labor), and environment may also be involved.
Although green vegetables, a good source of calcium and iron, as well as goat cheese, a good source of calcium, are common in the Mediterranean diet, concerns remain whether the diet provides adequate amounts of all nutrients, particularly calcium and iron.
This diet is not typical of all Mediterranean cuisine. In Northern Italy, for instance, lard and butter are commonly used in cooking, and olive oil is reserved for dressing salads and cooked vegetables. In North Africa wine is traditionally avoided by Muslims. In both North Africa and the Levant, along with olive oil, sheep's tail fat and rendered butter are traditional staple fats.
The putative benefits of the Mediterranean diet for cardiovascular health are primarily correlative in nature; while they reflect a very real disparity in the geographic incidence of heart disease, identifying the causal determinant of this disparity has proven difficult. The most popular dietary candidate, olive oil, has been undermined by a body of experimental evidence that diets enriched in monounsaturated fats such as olive oil are not atheroprotective when compared to diets enriched in either polyunsaturated or even saturated fats. A recently emerging alternative hypothesis to the Mediterranean diet is that differential exposure to solar ultraviolet radiation accounts for the disparity in cardiovascular health between residents of Mediterranean and more northerly countries. The proposed mechanism is solar UVB-induced synthesis of Vitamin D in the oils of the skin, which has been observed to reduce the incidence of coronary heart disease, and which rapidly diminishes with increasing latitude

Evolution of Olive Oil

Greece was the first civilization to be involved in the full-scale cultivation of olives. Production of olive oil in Greece has spanned more than 5 millennia. Scientific evidence suggests that olive trees grew wild on the island of Crete as early as 3500 BC and that systematic cultivation and exportation of the oil began as early as 2000 BC. Ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle further developed the cultivation of the olive into a science.
Olive oil was largely responsible for establishing Greece’s early commercial success. With the expansion of the Greek colonies, their knowledge of olive tree cultivation and olive oil extraction techniques spread throughout the Mediterranean, from Italy to northern Africa. The olive had become increasingly important to both the Greek culture and its economy. Homer even referred to olive oil as “liquid gold” in The Odyssey. Greece continues to remain the world’s largest exporter of extra virgin olive oil. In fact, many Italian and Spanish olive oils add Greek extra virgin olive oil to their own products to enhance their color and flavor. Seventy percent (70%) of total Greek production is extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality.
