June 14 will be ‘Pedal Pusher’ night at Luxemburg Speedway. Every spring, the racing community participates in the locally organized Pedal Pusher. In 2008, a small group of ladies planned the event as a simple bike ride to the racetrack. Over the years it has grown into a community fundraiser. The Pedal Pusher this year, “Tour de Ahanpee”, will have almost 40 riders biking from Algoma to Luxemburg.

Previously, the event has raised money for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. After a few years of being successful with these efforts, 2012 brought an additional goal for the Pedal Pushers. On top of the money raised for the Breast Cancer foundation, the ladies were able to present Luxemburg Speedway worker, and loved by all racing family member, Dave Schlise, with a check to assist with medical bills associated with a new diagnosis of Colon cancer.

2013 brings another new endeavor for the Pedal Pushers. They have reached out to partner with NAMI, the Door County Chapter, in efforts to raise money to increase awareness of mental illness and suicide. In February, the group lost a close racing family member, Keith ‘Keeter’ Tebon, to suicide. Keeter was a huge part of the racing community and donated every year to the cause.

Please come enjoy a night of racing at the Luxemburg Speedway on Friday, June 14, at the Kewaunee County Fairgrouds. Main fundraising will be through previous T-shirt sales and sponsoring of the event, along with other events that night including ‘Pass the Helmet’, during intermission. All proceeds raised will be going toward the cause. Can’t make it? Luxemburg Set to Start 2013 Season with Trailer Race of Destruction

(Luxemburg, WI)- Rain, Rain go away. This has been the tune being sung at Luxemburg Speedway as of late. The season looks to have the green light to kick off this Friday Night, May 24th. The green flag will fly at 7 p.m. In addition to the 5 divisions kicking off their championship bids, the Trailer Race of Destruction will return to the track. Veterans will also be admitted into the stands for free.

Algoma Motors and The Kewaunee County Tavern League will be sponsoring this week’s races.

A major schedule change has been made to the 2013 season. We were scheduled to have a night off next week, May 31st. With all the inclement weather we have had we WILL be racing May 31st with Coors Light sponsoring the evening. “We feel bad for the drivers and fans with all this bad weather this Spring. We felt it was right to make sure we tried to makeup at least one of the rain outs.” Gene Mathu, Track Promoter

Set your DVRs for this Friday Night on channel 32 WACY. The races will be aired starting at 7 p.m.

Transponders will be on all race cars this year. They will still be able to be purchased on opening night. If drivers have not bought one they will be able to be rented for $15 a night.

Season Opener Set for Luxemburg Speedway/Veterans Get in Free

(Luxemburg, WI) After two rainouts to start the 2013 season, Luxemburg Speedway is finally set to kickoff the season this Friday night, May 17th. Racing will get roarin at 7 p.m.

Algoma Motors and Coors Light will be the opening night sponsors. Luxemburg Speedway will be honoring all veterans of the armed forces. All Veterans will be given free admission to enjoy the night at the races.

The IMCA classes will be back in action in 2013. The big change will be the addition of the Street Stock class. Many rookies and veterans will by vying for the chance to be the champion of the returning class.

Transponders will be on all racecars this year. They will still be able to be purchased on opening night. If drivers have not bought one they will be able to be rented for $15 a night.

Mother Nature stays perfect at Luxemburg Speedway

(Luxemburg, WI)- If Mother Nature were a softball player she would be batting 1.000 in rainouts. Luxemburg Speedway has been cancelled for Friday Night, May 10th. This marks the second straight rainout to start the season.

The season opener has been pushed back to Friday Night, May 17th. Algoma Motors will share the sponsor spotlight with Coors Light. Motors will fire up at 7 p.m.

Transponders for Sale this Wednesday at Luxemburg Speedway

A reminder to all Luxemburg Speedway Drivers that plan on racing opening night; we are running transponders starting opening night of the 2013 season. The price to buy the transponder is $125 plus tax.

Amanda Havel will be at the speedway this Wednesday night from 4 to 6 p.m to sell and activate the transponder. If you already own a transponder you can email your serial number to Amanda so she can activate it. You can reach Amanda by email at amandah@iqresourcegroup.com. You can also contact her via her cell phone.920-676-0172.

We would like to have as many transponders activated before opening night as this will alleviate a little of the pressure of the usual opening night snags.

Algoma Motors will kick off as title sponsor for the 2013 season. Racing will get underway this Friday Night, May 10th at 7 p.m.

May 3rd Season Opener Cancelled at Luxemburg Speedway

(Luxemburg, WI)- With Rain already in the air and cold weather on tap Luxemburg Speedway has postponed their scheduled opener.

Luxemburg Speedway was set to run the opening night May 3rd. Algoma Motors will now be the headlining sponsor next Friday Night, May 10th. 7 p.m. the green flag will drop. All the drivers will set their sights on the 2013 championship crowns.

A reminder to all drivers, TRANSPONDERS ARE REQUIRED for 2013 at Luxemburg Speedway. They can be purchased from the track for $125. You may also rent them for $15 a night. They must be activated before you race.

Practice Set for Luxemburg Speedway/Transponders Ready for Pickup

(Luxemburg, WI)- A practice has been set up for Wednesday Night, May 1st. The practice will start at 6 p.m. with all track divisions being invited to attend. The cost into the pits will be $10.00 across the board for anyone entering the pits.

Gene Mathu stated, “We want to give the drivers a chance to work some bugs out of their cars before the opener on Friday. We also would like to see how the track will look after such a late winter.”

The Transponders have come to Luxemburg for the 2013 season. They are mandatory for all divisions and can be purchased at the track starting today, Sunday, April 28th.

The season opener is this coming Friday, May 3rd. Races get started at 7 p.m. with 5 divisions of racing.

Luxemburg Speedway To Run Transponders Starting in 2013, Both Practices Cancelled

(Luxemburg, WI)- Luxemburg Speedway has called off both sets of practices that were slated to be held at the track. The dates of the practices that are cancelled are April 19th and April 26th.

“With the less than ideal weather we have been having and the fact we haven’t been able to really work the track we have been forced to cancel both practices. We also have not been able to get the fence on the front stretch erected because of the conditions.” Gene Mathu, Luxemburg Speedway Promoter.

The 2013 season opener is still on as scheduled. We will start the season out with a bang on Friday Night, May 3rd at 7 p.m. 5 divisions will compete weekly including the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stockcars, IMCA Sportmods and IMCA Hobby Stocks. The Street Stocks makeup the final division.

Beginning on opening night 2013, all Luxemburg Speedway cars MUST have a transponder in their racer. The transponders can be purchased at the Luxemburg Speedway Maintenance building starting on Wednesday Night, April 24th. The cost to buy a transponder is $125. You will also be able to rent a transponder on a nightly basis for $15. “We see this as the future of scoring. We have done a lot of research and have a lot of time invested in the transponders. I’m very pleased with information we have found and find they will fit in well at Luxemburg. Gene Mathu, promoter.

Luxemburg Speedway Cancels Car Show Scheduled for April 6th

Luxemburg, WI- “Promoter” Gene Mathu has cancelled the April 6th car show that was scheduled to take place at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds.

“We took a ride to the fairgrounds this weekend and realized just how bad of shape the grass was. There was still snow in various areas. We don’t want to have trucks, trailers and racecars tearing up the grounds. We understood that parents would be taking small children and didn’t want to take any chances.”

There are two practice sessions to start the season. The dates are April 19th and 26th.

The season opener is slated for Friday Night, May 3rd. Five divisions will take to the oval every Friday Night including the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stockcars, IMCA Sportmods, IMCA Hobby Stocks and Street Stocks.
