Event founder and organiser Giles Brown said: “In the absence of the British Motor Show in 2011, EcoVelocity will be the most important and definitely not to be missed motoring event of the year, showcasing the best real-world cars for real-world motorists at a single location.”

Visitors will be able to see some of the world’s fastest green cars, including the Bluebird Electric and Tesla Roadster, in a specially created green supercar paddock.

Mitsubishi are one of the automakers showcasing their green offerings at the event. The brands Intelligent Motion range includes the Mitsubishi iMiev Somerset, the UKs first pure-electric vehicle. Potential buyers will have the opportunity to test drive the iMiev and other green cars on a specially constructed circuit.

Auto Express said the flagship GT THP 200 was the ‘stand-out’ choice with the short-throw gearbox, grippy chassis and responsive steering giving it the edge over rivals such as the TT and Volkswagen Scirocco. The British brand are being very cloak and dagger about this new concept car, but have said it will ‘emphasise the company’s passion for driver-focused vehicles’. No details have been revealed and it’s not been confirmed whether it will be a concept car only or will influence the design of future production models.

The mystery car will join the new 3 door Astra, GTC and Zafira at the show. It will also be Europe’s first look at the extended range Ampera in production mode. Vauxhall dealers in the UK are expected to receive the first Amperas in April 2012.

Autoexpress have called the Evoque ‘2011’s most desirable car’ praising it for its off road capabilities and build quality. Autoexpress’ Mat Watson said: “This Range Rover is a cracking car which pretty much does it all. It’s good to drive, capable off road, has a desirable badge, feels well-built plus is comfortable, luxurious, and very, very desirable –¬ especially in the case of the more stylish Coupe. It’s a winner.”

Autoblog’s Martyn Collins was equally as complimentary, commenting: “The Evoque lived up to the promise shown earlier this year. It’s definitely a game-changer for the brand and Land Rover should be justifiably proud of its abilities. The baby Range Rover isn’t cheap but deserves every success and I want one.”

According to Top Gear the Evoque “Is something different. It has the regal style and materials of a Range Rover, stylishly updated and re-booted for a new generation,” but “drives as good as it looks”. So high praise indeed from some of the top automotive voices! At over £44,000 there won’t be Range Rover Evoque deals to suit everyone but it’s a luxury we can certainly dream of!

It’s the Slovakia plant which will be closing down for the month, this plant in particular produced a total of 186,150 cars in 2010 which was down on the 205,000 cars which were produced in 2009.

Volkswagen also temporarily halted production in Slovakia towards the end of July… Car manufacturers will be keeping a close eye on market conditions.

The sporty new model is set to go on-sale at Honda dealers in2012 and will rival the likes of the popular Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf and Vauxhall Astra.

Motorists are expecting this model to boast the most forward-looking designs of any hatchback currently available.

In the past drivers have complained about the suspension that was fitted in the Civic, so they will be pleased to know that it has been revised to improve comfort and reduce vibration during journeys.

As of yet Honda haven’t announced too much information so Civic enthusiasts will be eagerly awaiting more information!

Toyota Yaris Verso is number 1

More than 50,000 drivers take part in the Which? annual Car Survey which is based on customer satisfaction. So what cars can we rely on and which ones let us down?

The Toyota Yaris Verso topped the tables with an impressive 97.7%, with customers praising the Yaris’ reliability and versatility. Skoda also did well, with four Skoda models making it into Top 10 positions.

The Renault Laguna Sport Tourer however scored a disappointing 49.4%; complaints about performance and build quality being common amongst Laguna Sport Tourer drivers.

And it wasn’t good news for Peugeot either; three of the French automakers cars made it into the bottom 10. The Peugeot 807, 206 CC and 307 CC were criticised for poor reliability and shoddy build quality.  No BMW or used Mini in Scotland made it into the top or bottom 10.

The automaker have recently launched Flexible finance, a package which allows new car buyers to choose their deposit and monthly payments based on what they can afford.  Customers can even choose to pay no deposit and will benefit from 0% interest free finance until September. Vauxhall’s handy online finance calculator allows you to select a deposit and the most suitable monthly payments, over a term of up to 60 months.

Vauxhall will even contribute up to £1,000 to the deposit amount- that’s £500 on the Agila, £750 towards a Corsa and £1,000 for most other models. Part-exchange your used Vauxhall Corsa in Scotland for even lower deposit payments.

Ford have ditched the multi-disc CD players from their new Ford Focus in Uxbridge in favour of digital radio (DAB), which now comes as standard. DAB will soon become standard on other selected models in their European range and as an option on others.

CD sales have fallen by more than a third since 2006 and according to Ford 95% of new Ford Focus buyers opted for models with MP3 connectivity. Ford is giving customers what they want, but have said they will continue to offer CD players while there is demand.

They have just picked up their new 2.0-litre TDCi 140PS Titanium model from Ford. The new Galaxy comes equipped with features such as LED interior lights, USB connectivity and a stunning glass panorama roof.
