Position Description

Director Store Communications -NC-Mooresville

Position Summary:

The Director, Store Communications is responsible for managing all aspects of the Store Communications function. The Store Communications team develops and delivers communications to Lowe’s 1,700 stores (250,000+ employees) and applicable stakeholders. The team is responsible for continuously improving the effectiveness of the content and related delivery processes. Store Communications uses media such as e-mail, Lowe’s Intranet, TV broadcast, the Red Prairie electronic execution management system (EMS), and IBM Connections to distribute information regarding Corporate and Store Operations objectives, initiatives, major corporate events, and other relevant news to the Lowe’s store community. In addition, this group uses electronic surveys to collect data and feedback for analysis at the corporate level.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

•Leads a team of employees who perform the above functions, managing quality, accuracy, and effectiveness of content and efficient delivery.
•Works with the VP of Store Operations Support to establish and enforce company standards regarding store communication.
•In addition, the director supervises the following team responsibilities:
oWork closely with IT, HR, Store Labor Planning and Strategy, and Compensation to manage all activities related to store and field-based employee access to e-mail and intranet by managing which job titles and HR job codes are e-mail / intranet enabled and ensuring that these roles have the access they need.
oAnalyze communications volume, quality, and value add. Eliminate redundant and ineffective communications to stores via continuous process improvement.
oDevelop and manage a Store Communications planning calendar to ensure communications are created, approved, and sent on time.
oManage and maintain Store Communications software and systems including Red Prairie Store Perform (EMS), ASCEND e-mail delivery system, store survey software, intranet development software, etc.
oManage and approve the development of all Lowe’s Intranet (Portal) content available to store employees. Working directly with IT and other departments, the team directs the flow and volume of all Intranet content and “thin-client” applications while ensuring accuracy, appropriateness and timely distribution.
oPartner with the SVPs of Store Operations to manage the SSEI and Customer Focused Program including program design, communications, collateral development, celebration coordination, resource site content, etc.
oManage ad-hoc store contest development, communication and tracking on behalf of the Store Operations SVPs.
•Partners with Store Operations executives to develop and write content.
•Advocates for store employees during the development and roll-out of employee-facing communication technologies.
•Act as point of contact for SVPs of Store Operations and other senior leadership for communication project coordination. Assist internal clients with creative proposals, developing creative briefs to determine project scope and timeliness.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

•Serves as the People Lead for the Measures of Success Corporate Initiative supporting Lowe’s Experience of the Future. People Lead requirements include developing Enterprise, Initiative and functional metrics for Lowe’s Experience of the Future. This is a two to three year commitment.
•Coordinates and writes executive content for board presentations and analyst calls

Qualifications:
