Last night, we dined at one of my favorite Austin restaurants, Ranch 616. The menu is incredible, but most of all I love the atmosphere. It is the perfect mix between quirky Austin and true Southwest Texas style. Blend in a dollop of classic country for the soundtrack, and you have created a gift to the Austin community.

In honor of last night, I'm featuring one of my favorites, Ms. Dolly Parton.

These little spheres of energy are pretty incredible. In fact, I've made 2 batches in one week. They are that good. Best part, you can switch out ingredients to your liking.

Not only are they healthy and easy, but the perfect party item. Add a touch of decadence by dipping them halfway in melted dark chocolate.

:: No-Bake Energy Bites ::

1 Cup Granola + Flaxseed mix

1/2 Cup Peanut Butter

1/3 Cup Honey

1 Cup Coconut Flakes

1/2 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips

{I suggest chopping up a bar of 60%+ dark chocolate}

1 Tsp. Vanilla

Dash of Cinnamon Sugar

:: Combine in Bowl

:: Roll into bite size balls

:: Place in freezer for 1 hour

Lovely ONA Camera Bag

I have been searching for a camera bag....for a while...a long while...over a year while.

I am indecisive and picky. There, I said it.

I know what I like and hate to settle, because I firmly believe the exact item you want exists.

ONA announced their latest bag, The Venice, and it might be THE one. Just maybe. It's the closest yet. Beautiful camel leather, gold hardware & tons of compartments. I need to get my hands on one of these just so I can examine closer. {Yes, I'm THAT particular about my bags.}

What do you think? Should I start saving up? Worth the splurge?

PS :: How cute does that model look? Makes me want to hang out at a flower shop.

I've known Anne Marie since Kindergarten. So, when she asked me take her engagement photos, I couldn't say yes fast enough. She is definitely one of those friends where you pick up right where you left off, no matter how long since your last chat. In my book, that is the best kind.

Boots {what a cute nickname, right?}, couldn't be a more perfect fit.
Spending the evening with this couple was such a treat!

This morning I received a fresh present on my doorstep. Ever since I signed up, I have been chatting non-stop with excitement regarding my recent purchase. Say hello to my new culinary friend, Farmhouse Delivery.

You sign up to have fresh, local produce delivered to your door, once a week. Amazing, right? I was like a kid on Christmas when I found the big plastic bin filled with colorful goodness. Naturally, I decided to have a twenty minute photo shoot, just to show you guys.

Beautiful, right? The aren't kidding about the fresh factor either, look at those roots. Just plucked. Another great feature about this organization, their emails. Yesterday, I received a detailed note that included a list of items in my box, storing tips & recipes. Again, kid on christmas morning over here.

This might be my most fun session to date.

Seriously, I got to roll around, climb ladders and slide down the playground. The Erickson boys were a blast to follow around with a camera. The best part, they acted as location scouts and picked out where to pose and play. Little photographers and models in the making.

The Erickson family is simply amazing and I can't imagine a better way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon in the park.

Last weekend we sliced and diced the nights away in the kitchen and on the dance floor.

Friday night I attended a cooking class with some of the gals. Good chance this becomes a regular thing. We loved it! I even have a few recipes to share with you guys!

Our friends Jon and Sarah got hitched Saturday night, remember them from here?

It was such a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple.

Great weekend spent with the people I love.

Some of my very best friends got married last weekend. Remember this and this? Well, they finally tied the knot and I got to channel on more creative outlet before the big day, video.

Such a blessing to be a part of their journey from proposal planning, engagement, rehearsal dinner to standing next to them in a beautiful church. My heart is filled with joy for this amazing couple.

The theme for last weekend's photo sessions? Old friends.

First, my college gal pal came to town for a bachelorette party with her four best friends since kindergarten. Awesome, right? They surprised the bride with a best friends shoot.

Session #2 took place with an old Houston friend. We go way back to elementary school and it's a special friendship; no matter how many years pass, we just pick up with the laughter and conversation. She is engaged to one incredibly lucky man. Such a blessing to hang out with these two individuals!

I've been quite busy this month, snapping away; now it is time to bunker down and start editing away!

I love a good excuse to bake. Last night was bible study at mi casa, so it was the perfect opportunity to attempt a recipe I have been dying to try.

This one comes from an old Houston friend, Ashlea, and her incredible blog The Little Kitchen That Could. If you have a second, go read about her travels in Italy where she was trained in the art of italian cooking...jealous much?

Needless to say, amazing. Due to lack of kitchen equipment {anyone selling a good food processor?}, my crust was more crumbly than shortbread-y, so I renamed them.

Just as delicious and beautiful to gander upon.

Enjoy!

:: crust ::

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a 9 by 13-inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray; set aside. Combine the flour, sugar and salt in a food processor for about 45 seconds. Cut the butter into 1/2-inch cubes and process with the flour mixture for 30 seconds or until the butter is evenly distributed but the mixture is still crumbly. Reserve 2 cups of the crust mixture to use for the topping. Press the remaining crust mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown; allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before adding the filling.

:: filling ::

Combine the eggs, sugar, sour cream and flour in a large bowl. Fold in the blackberries. Spoon the fruit filling evenly over the crust and sprinkle the reserved crust mixture over the filling. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes or until the top is lightly browned. Let cool for at least 1 hour before cutting into bars.

I love the idea of capturing a recipe in motion. As I slowly venture into the world of video production, new creative inspiration begins to pop around every corner. Camille Styles posted this video by photographer Carl Pendle, and I am nothing short of obsessed. What a glorious idea!

Not to mention my new goal to jar up some delicious fall jams.

Yesterday afternoon I made a delicious snack, all thanks to Jenna! If you don't follow Jenna's blog Eat, Live, Run you are seriously missing out. Not only is she one amazing chica, but she concocts the most delicious dishes.

Working from home means you are very close to your kitchen. Dangerous stuff.

This chai spice shake is easy to make and not too shabby in the health department!

Ingredients:

2 large frozen bananas

1 cup chai tea (2 teabags per cup of water)

1/2 cup milk of choice

tiny pinch of cinnamon

tiny pinch of ground ginger

tiny splash of vanilla extract

1 T pure maple syrup

Mix together & Enjoy!
