The pain is too great… I want to go “Home”

Q: I had a breakdown a few months ago, which caused me to go to a mental hospital. Now I need to take pills, and I feel that they keep me from doing things I could do before. I do not know if all of this happened because I missed my opportunity or because it is part of God's plan for me. Each day that passes, I am waiting for God to take me from here. The pain is too strong and my issues are too much for me to handle anymore. I want to go Home. I feel like my time here on Earth is over. I want it to be over. How can I do it? Is it God's plan for me? Could my dying be seen as “moving up” instead of “giving up?” I want to be with You. I want to live where You are. I want to be like You, loving always, trusting always, never fearing. What should I do? I just don't know anymore.

Louix: Thank you for pouring your heart out to Me (that was your first step towards full recovery) and for caring enough to share your story, so that it may save other lives, too. You are such a pure heart. Please know, My beloved, that your situation cannot be tendered in a word or sentence. I will give you what you need to turn your life around. In My usual manner, I will deliver the straight truth, which you are ready—and aching—to hear.

First of all, while many are indeed finding it extremely difficult to remain in this world as humanity moves into the Age of Enlightenment, and are thus preparing to leave their embodiments, this is not the case for you (look at the last part of your question; that is what you really want and are really asking—to stay, and to live as pure Love). And even if it were the case, to you and all others reading this, it is very important to realize that “there is no death.” When you leave this life, all you leave behind is your body. You take with you all your unresolved karma, all unfinished and un-mastered life lessons. The “show” just continues until your soul is wholly ascended and free.

You say that you are waiting for God to “save” you. Wait no more. Your prayers have been heard and are, herewith, being answered. First of all, the taking of your medication is dependent upon your physical and mental condition, the environment in which you live and, mostly, upon who is treating/guiding you and how. The pills are keeping you stable where you are now.

Secondly, this did not happen because you missed your opportunity. Your current situation is your opportunity! The physical plane is the densest plane of Creation and the last place anything appears or manifests. The universe has been sending message after message to you—at your own soul's request—all falling on deaf (willfully resistant) ears. Thus, you had to manifest something big enough to finally get your attention. Whatever you resist persists and intensifies. I offer that you consider this “predicament,” as you call it, as no less than a tremendous blessing—which it is.

Was this God's plan for you? God's plan has never been for any of His children to suffer. Suffering is a human creation, not a Divine one. All pain is resistance to God's will. Where there is surrender, there is no pain, regardless of circumstance. Realize, also, that your soul cannot—by Divine design—and will not call forth more than you can bear. That is the Law of Creation. You simply do not like the consequences of repeatedly saying “no” to what God is asking of you.

For the record, you are home. Heaven is not a place; it is a state of consciousness. Suicide and/or dying is never God's plan for anyone! God's plan—and the destiny/dharma/life's purpose—for every soul on Earth is full God-realization; in other words, the full restoral of your own inherent immortality, which can only be achieved while embodied in human form. The death you are describing is, and can only be classified as, giving up. You have the power, the faith, and the wisdom to reach the summit…or else you never would have magnetized Me into your life to give you this direct, personal guidance. I accept no excuses…and neither should you.

Know that you are with Me. You have always been with Me. And My door is forever open to those who come with pure intentions. Yes, it is a distinct possibility that you could live in one of My ashrams. Do realize, however, that avoidance and escapism cannot exist in My presence. To live with a Master's gaze upon you, twenty-four hours a day, means that with every breath you will have to face the Truth in your life, the avoidance of which has created all your problems in the first place. You would also need to either have or create the means to support yourself. My ashrams are completely integrated into society. I train those who wish to walk in full mastery over all earthly illusion. There are many people who run to ashrams to hide and escape from the world. Those who come to Mine with that intention do not last more than a month—if they can even find their way through the door at all.

Now that I have given clarity to the confusion in your consciousness, I will give you some concrete steps to take on the road to wellness and, ultimately, mastery. They can be found in the Sacred Tools for Growth and Transformation. They will give you the grounded-ness and strength you need. Simply follow the steps I outline, with faith, devotion, and discipline, and I will pull you through this dark night of your soul. You do your best. I’ll do the rest. Place your focus upon Me, and be earnest and diligent in your daily practice of meditation. Take walks in Nature, purify your diet, get daily exercise, and eliminate dense vibrations from your regimen (bars; loud, discordant music; junk food; alcohol, caffeine, and drugs). Whatever you place your focus upon, you become. Form follows thought.

I modeled life in the depths of Separation, as well as the journey into wholeness and full divinity, so that others would be able to do this for themselves. Follow My guidance, and take My hand, the one for which you have been reaching for so long. I am here for you. I love you with all My heart, and I am eternally devoted to you. All that I AM is yours.

Louix has continued to have a full schedule of public Darshan and Ecstatic Singing events. During these evenings, Pranam has been serenading the room with their "world devotional music" incorporating many new songs and arrangements.

On March 11th, Louix sang with Pranam at our Ecstatic Singing event held at Prema Drala Ashram. It was a full house while we all grooved to Pranam's music set. They played a Spanish song called "Madre Divina" which we had not heard in quite a while. We ended the evening with "Ong Namo," which started as a sweet love song to the Divine, and in the middle turned into an amazing island jam, ultimately ending as the sweet love song began. People were dancing in their seats with Guruji! Following are some photos from that event we would like to share with you:

On March 31st, we returned to Encinitas for the first time this year, holding an event at the Seaside Center for Spiritual Living. Louix gave darshan to approximately seventy-five people. We are excited to announce that we will be having a One-Day Retreat on April 21st, at the Center for Spiritual Living, in Mission Viejo. This will be an opportunity to experience Louix’s boundless love, wisdom, grace, and humor, as you receive His personal guidance and blessing.

On February 11th, Louix sang with Pranam at our Ecstatic Singing event held at Prema Drala Ashram. This was our first public event of 2012, and it was wonderful to see many people we had not seen in almost two months. Pranam played a lively set which included songs such as “By Thy Grace,” “Shivaya Pranananda,” “Benedictus,” and a new song “Ganapataye.” A few hours before the event, the world had just found out that Whitney Houston had passed away. Louix ended the evening with a moment of silence and prayers in her honor and expressed gratitude for this angel who blessed us with her beautiful voice and music. He then dedicated the song “Hosannah” to her as we sang together. Following are some photos we would like to share with you:

On Monday the 13th of February, we also celebrated The Divine Romance, a holy day consecrated by Louix to honor and celebrate the courtship with The Beloved of your soul. We gathered at the ashram, which was beautifully decorated with bouquets of flowers in various shades of violet. Brahmananda spoke a heartfelt opening prayer and led us into a guided meditation. We were then invited to take an inner journey by invoking and merging with The Beloved of our soul. The evening continued with a few devotional songs led by Pranam. Chocolate dipped strawberries were offered as Prasad to conclude and bless this uplifting event hosted by Brahmananda and Sylvia.

Touched by Your Grace in Sedona

Hello beloved Pranananda,

As I sit here in Melbourne, I still have in me the effects of the Divine energies You gave me (all of us) in Sedona. Not only are they there in me, but I now find it easier to recreate the feeling, and therefore allow more light in me. I do that every day and I am committed to keep allowing more and more to enter my being until I feel it, think it, live it all the time. So the key word here is Thank You! You gave me exactly what I had asked for (to the Divine), with a power far greater than I had expected. I know You enjoy hearing about our experiences so I want to share a little bit here.

First of all, I spent a lot of time looking at Your face, Your expressions, during Darshan and the other energy sessions. I was amazed, touched, by the grace and the sweetness of the love which always transpired. Non-stop! I thought that maybe after a while You may show signs of tiredness, but it never happened. Amma once said, "When there is love, there is no effort,” and I felt that with You.

Also, I was touched by Your everlasting Presence. Anytime someone shared, spoke, talked, You were 110% here, with every cell of Your being. Many times did my mind wander, or get a little bored, or wanted to be elsewhere, but You, never. You drank every word, every energy, in order to give Your 100% feedback. What a lesson.

Finally, I had never seen You as often cry or have tears in Your eyes. During Darshan, during sharings, You were so open, that You often became emotional. I found it to be a sign of being so close to the person talking or having experiences that it brought You tears. I really loved it, and it was that much more touching for me and for all of us, I am sure. I can see how open You are and how You have nothing, nothing, nothing to hide. And when You told us about the rare times when You said something so slightly “off” that Your whole being became sick from it, and You immediately had to rectify. I, too, want to reach that state.

I have been talking to the Divine, and asking for always more light. I received a lot, and I am grateful. My faith is tested on a daily basis, and I know that as I keep aligning and receiving light, in meditation, reciting mantras, invoking the Divine, it will get easier and easier. In other words, I am expecting good things. I am not in that state at every moment, not yet. That's my work, to make it happen deeper and deeper, and more and more often. I want to walk in a state of peace and knowingness. I want to be able to look at people who sometimes hurt me and love them because they are showing me a side of me which is still not aligned. I'm working at it.

2011-2012 New Year’s Eve Retreat in Sedona

On December 29th, 64 souls gathered in Sedona, Arizona—a place famous for its unparalleled beauty, mystical red rocks, and vortex energies—to take part in Louix’s 2011 New Year’s Eve Retreat. Held at Enchantment Resort, nestled in the womb of beautiful Boynton Canyon, this was an amazing experience for all, which afforded the opportunity to receive Louix’s darshan for six consecutive days.

From the first evening, as Louix welcomed the attendees from seven different countries around the world, a beautiful sense of family, kinship, and love spun into form. Over the course of the retreat, Louix facilitated a powerful guided meditation, gave multiple darshans, delivered discourses, and held Q&A sessions. There was also ample devotional singing (by an excellent ensemble of disciple/musicians from all over the world), as well as two solo performances by guest musicians: one, a Native American flautist, and another a shamanic percussionist/sound healer. Basking in the majesty of this picturesque location, we took plenty of time to enjoy the resort and the beautiful surroundings of Boynton Canyon. Many went on hikes, enjoyed the spa facilities, or rested on the earth.

Louix’s 50th Birthday Celebration

On December 17th we celebrated Louix’s 50th birthday, a milestone year in the life of our Guru. Kharananda Mayi, one of His senior disciples, welcomed the guests, and then, overcome with emotion, spoke about how her Guru has transformed her life. Louix then entered the room, greeting an audience of around 75 guests, and many others around the world (via the live-streamed video setup). Many were surprised to see a very different-looking Master, sans the long hair and long beard. Two disciples performed a puja ceremony in His honor, followed by Louix opening some birthday gifts, and blowing out the five golden candles of His birthday cake (one for each decade!).

Everyone then gathered in the dining area to enjoy a delicious feast of vegan Mediterranean food, followed by a piece of Louix's birthday cake. We then reconvened in the main event space and Pranananda led a guided meditation. Then, as Pranam commenced playing, Louix began giving darshan to and anointing each individual who came before Him, sending many into ecstatic states. It was truly a special event, as we celebrated this landmark year in the life of our Guru.

In His annual benediction to humanity (delivered each year on New Year’s Eve), Louix Dor Dempriey proclaims 2012 as The Year of Faith. The rapid and intense planetary transformation occurring this year requires that ones rely on their faith like never before. As systems and organizations that are not founded and grounded in love continue to crumble and dissolve at ever-increasing rates, people’s faith will be tested. It is important to increase your faith and trust, and to stand strong in your conviction—and you will be victorious. Transformation of this nature can often change people’s lives dramatically (spouse, job, residence, etc.); therefore, detachment, surrender, and acceptance of these inevitable changes are paramount. Louix reminds us that our attachments and desires are what create pain in our lives, not our circumstances.

Trusting your intuition vs. obeying the Guru

Q: I find myself in conflict when my inner listening differs from what my Guru is guiding me to do. This feels like a hopeless situation because the Guru always says “follow your heart,” yet the wise disciple should always obey the sage wisdom and guidance of the Guru, whose job is to liberate me. This seems like a contradiction. What’s worse is that, when what I hear is in conflict with what the Master is saying, I then begin to doubt my own intuition/inner guidance. Please help me.

A: As for your concern about “hearing” incorrectly, I would advise that you do not fall into that trap. Do not be concerned with that right now. There are distortions/patterns in all human consciousness which a true Master is very adept at identifying and fixing for and with you. It is important that you are not too hard on yourself. You brought up a very good and important point about this business of questioning/following your own inner guidance. What I will tell you may sound contradictory (though it really is anything but), unless you truly understand the nature of the Guru):

You should always follow your gut/instinct/intuition/listening—always… except (and this is the only exception) when that “listening” conflicts with what your Guru is telling you. In those cases, it is wise to defer to the Guru. The reason is that the Guru’s mind is merged in God, it has been purified, healed, and is trustworthy, whereas the human mind is not. The human ego mind is cunning, devious, and often disguises its voice as the voice of the soul/God—this is its greatest talent. The human mind is run by a combination of fear and desire, whereas the Master’s mind is not. The Guru will help perfect and purify your mind. It is his/her job. The Guru is a set of training wheels for your own divinity. Furthermore, remember that you were the one who went searching for a Master to help exalt and uplift you out of the quagmire of Separation (he did not go looking for you).

Always trust in the God perfection of all that the Master says and does, even when what you are trusting appear to be imperfections in the Master.

The Guru has what you want. What lies beneath your seeming conflict is really your fear of losing control of your life, as well as your issues of trust and faith. It is not about who is right and who is wrong. That is the ego talking again. The Guru is your best friend, your most ardent fan and supporter, and is more devoted to you than anyone you will ever know… even more than your parents, spouse, children—anyone. The Guru lives to serve and uplift you. Remembering this inalienable truth, in addition to remembering that the Master is equipped to handle anything you bring before him, will remove any lingering doubts or resistance to simply following and obeying his loving and divine guidance… all of which is designed solely to liberate you, to uplift you, and to help you attain mastery over all earthly dominion.

Q: How do I develop the siddhis that are inside of me? They are there, I feel them, I see them, but I am a little scared and intimidated by having this kind of power.

A: By not focusing on the siddhis! Focus on self-purification, selfless service, and deepening surrender to God. The siddhis will awaken naturally if you follow this course of action. It is the ego that wants the siddhis. In and of themselves, they are nothing-worthless. I am more concerned over your ego's infatuation with and desire for them. Many a chela is destroyed by forcing these powers to awaken and/or learning them by lesser means when the consciousness was not ready or pure enough to wield them.

It is with great joy and excitement that we announce this year’s celebrations to honor the 50th birthday of Louix Dor Dempriey (Bhagavan Sri Pranananda)—a special and milestone year! Each year, disciples and devotees around the world hold a three-day celebration as an expression of our gratitude for His presence in our lives and on this planet, and to attune to His Divine energies that are available to all on this blessed day.

Each year, Louix spends His birthday with His beloveds in a different part of the world. This year, Louix will shower upon us His love and personal blessing as He gives darshan in Encinitas, California. At the same time, His ashrams and study groups all over the world will host various events and gatherings, which all are welcome to attend. To begin each day of celebrations, Louix’s ashrams will perform an aarti ceremony. During these three days, many people also choose to fast or abstain from particular habits, as an act of devotion.

To invoke Louix’s presence during this auspicious time, you may wish to create a sacred space in your home, which can include an altar with His picture and other adornments upon it, or a special chair decorated with fabrics. Cleansing your home by burning sage or incense, or ringing bells, is a powerful way to increase sacredness during the celebrations. You can also invoke Louix into your dreams and meditations to experience more deeply His essence of unconditional love.

To help you commune with Him during this special time, we offer this free downloadable portrait of Guruji.

Remember that, if you do not live close to one of Louix's ashrams or study groups, you can connect to the sublime energies of these days by honoring Him in your own ways at home. The following is a summary of the three-day celebrations held in His honor:

The first day of celebrations is traditionally a day of service (seva). Each year, a specific theme is chosen and acted upon by all of Louix's ashrams and centers. In order to maximize the impact of our seva upon the Earth, as well as synchronize as one global family, we recommend that your selfless service be consistent with the overall theme.

For this year's birthday celebrations we will place our focus on "food donation," practicing generosity by extending our own abundance into the lives of others. On this day, the community of Prema Drala Ashram will holding a food drive that will directly benefit the disadvantaged people in our community (mostly seniors and children). We will be donating all of our collected foods to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County (visit www.feedoc.org for more information). Our Foundation's mission of humanitarian service is reflected in the programs run by Second Harvest Food Bank.

We encourage you to participate in this endeavor in your own way, and we look forward to synchronizing with you, wherever you are located, to create a positive impact in our communities.

The second day of celebrations will consist of inward reflection upon the significance of having Louix's love and wisdom guiding our lives. On this day of introspection, we set aside time to rekindle gratitude in our hearts, and rediscover the joy and wonder it is to be on the path to liberation, walking with a God-realized being. Journaling our thoughts and reflections is also an excellent way of deepening these blessings.

It is widely known that the two most powerful days to receive the darshan of a living Master are the day of His birth and the day of His liberation/enlightenment. We will be holding a very festive event that includes devotional singing, a vegan meal, and Louix graciously giving His darshan to all who attend. The event will be held at the Seaside Center for Spiritual Living in Encinitas, California (click here for more information about this event). His ashrams and study groups around the world will join the festivities with an evening of devotional singing, singing chants from various spiritual traditions, with most songs expressing devotion to the Guru.

If you are unable to attend this event, you may celebrate by inviting friends and family to join in your own night of devotional singing or listening to your favorite uplifting music in His honor.

Book Recommendation: The Perfect Relationship

As we near the end of 2011, The Year of the Guru, I cannot think of a more perfect time for Me to recommend one of the most phenomenal books (written by a God-realized Master) that I have ever read. It also happens to be a book about the Guru-disciple relationship. The Perfect Relationship, written by Swami Muktananda, is by far the most exacting and in-depth treatise on this most profound of marriages—that of Guru and disciple—that I have ever read or come across. I find it especially profound and important at this time, not only because of the timeliness of this year being a window of time wherein ones could make quantum strides in their spiritual growth by opening, ingratiating, and ultimately surrendering themselves to the Guru, but also because of all the distortions and misinformation that prevail in the New Age community about spiritual Masters—and Gurus in particular.

This book will summarily dispel those myths and misinterpretations, but more so gift the reader an unparalleled insight into the magic, the power, and the Supreme blessing that this marriage of souls offers the sincere seeker. While the author does include a few of his own “cultural” practices/beliefs (which are actually more endemic to life in India than they are to the nature of Gurus), which therefore act as filters or distortions, they are very self-evident to the astute reader and do not taint or diminish the sheer grandeur and depth of this treatise.

Muktananda tells it like it is, and leaves no question of doubt that his own ascent into the fully God-merged state of consciousness was the direct result—and benediction—of his Guru. I wholeheartedly place this book on the “Must Read” list for everyone who has been in search of the fastest and most direct path into the heart of God and Self.
