Recent draw results from PCSO's 2D Lotto were sampled, tallied and observed. The following data reveal some information. Data may change as new results are added.

Winning Frequency of Each 2D Number

The above chart tallies 2D draw results for a recent week covering 7-day results (equivalent to 21 draws, 3 draws per day). The bar chart shows how many times each 2D number – 01 to 31 – has been winning so far. You can interpret the numbers above the line as those that are currently trending.

Tip. Pair a trending number with a non-trending number.

Pivot Table of Winning Frequency Tandems

The above pivot table presents the winning frequency tandems. The winning frequency values (or win count) on the leftmost and topmost refer to the number of times a winning number has won in the recent week. The frequency values on the leftmost refer to the first number drawn (first ball); the values on the topmost refer to the second number (2nd ball). The values that intersect between two winning frequency values refer to the occurrences of such tandem. For example, say the 1-2 tandem has occurred 3 times, it means that three winning combinations from the recent week consist of a first number winning once and a second number winning twice.

The data suggest how you could usually pair two numbers that you wish to play. Would you combine two numbers that both have won once (1-1); or combine two numbers with one winning twice and the other winning once (2-1 or 1-2)? You can always refer to the Winning Frequency chart above as to which numbers are winning once, twice or more; or not at all (zero win).

Aging of 2D Numbers

The Aging of 2D Numbers calculates how long a number has not been winning in terms of age. The age values refer to the number of draws that have passed. If you divide that by 3, you get the number of days. The 31 2D numbers are classified according to how many times they have won recently. Numbers under the label '1' are those that have won only once; under label '2' are those that have won twice; etc. Numbers under the zero '0' label are those that have not been winning for a longer period. Beside each 2D number is its corresponding age.

The data just presented are real time and are based on recent results up to this date.

For the reason that the data are updated from time to time, information changes as new results are added to the database. Initially, trends are being observed based on a 21-draw period that covers, practically, a week's results of the 2D Lotto draws. Recent results from a shorter period, rather than from a large volume of historical data, are being examined to establish more relevant trending winning numbers.

How To Interpret the Data

Winning Frequency Chart

The first chart shows which numbers 1 to 31 are currently winning based on recent 21 consecutive draws. Each number is represented by a bar with corresponding data value that indicates how many times the number has been winning so far. Numbers with taller bars are those that are recently winning more frequently. You can consider the numbers above the line as those that are currently trending. Numbers with zero wins are those considered cold numbers.

Winning Frequency Tandems

The next chart is a pivot table that intersects a combination of two frequency values. For example, a 1-1 tandem represents a combination of two winning numbers that both have recently won once. On the other hand, a 2-1 tandem represents a combination of winning numbers with the first drawn number winning twice and the second drawn number winning once. The intersecting value of each possible combination represents how often such combination has occurred.

Ageing of 2D Numbers

This table shows which 2D numbers are trending and which are turning cold. The column labels 0 – 5 represent the count of winning; Age refers to the length of time a number has not been winning. Age does not refer to the number of days; but rather to the number of draws. Age values of 0 - 2 refer to yesterday's results; values 3 – 5 refer to the day before, and so forth and so on. The higher the value of age, the longer the lotto number has not been winning.

How To Use The Data

To illustrate, the sample table shows the 1-1 tandem occurring 7 times. This means that, recently, most winning combinations are those with first and second numbers that have won only once. Second to 1-1 tandem is the 1-2 tandem (occurring 4 times) indicating winning combinations consisting of a first number winning once and a second number winning twice.

To apply what was just presented:

Pick a winning frequency tandem from the pivot table.
Refer to the frequency chart and pick the numbers that correspond with your tandem. For example, if you picked 2-0, pick a number from the frequency chart that has won 2 times and combine it with a number that has won only once. If you look at 0-2, that tandem has occurred twice. It suggests that you can also reverse your combination. For example, aside from 12–21, you can also play 21–12.
In case you cannot decide as to which numbers to pick, refer to the ageing table to find out which numbers are turning cold; i.e. 2D numbers that have not been winning for a long time.

Tip. Common winning tandems are: 1-1, 1-0, 1-2, 0-2, 2-0, 0-1, 21. They comprise 70% of total trials (sampled drawings). Each of these combinations are likely to be pulled out with a 40% – 72% chance (empirical frequency of combinations).

Visual Presentation of Trending and Non-Trending 2D Numbers

Another way to present which 2D numbers are trending and which are not is to showcase them visually. Following are linear charts that present how each 2D numbers are trending based on consecutive rolling periods that cover 21 draws (7 days). The numbers are grouped into 9 based on their digital root. To find which numbers are currently trending, examine the trendlines of each number. A trendline that goes up indicates a positive trend. A trendline that goes down indicates a negative trend.

Tip (Based on Observations)

It is very seldom that a number reaches its peak, which is 5 times winning within a week (21-draw period). Based on 15 periods, there were only 2 periods when a number reached its peak.
Once a number has reached its winning peak, which is 5 wins, it does not usually win in the next draw. Wait till it drops to 4 or less.
It is also very seldom that a number wins 4 times in a week. When it does, it usually does not win in the next draw. Out of 15 periods observed, only 4 periods recorded a 2D number winning the 4th time.
Not all numbers may win 3 times in a week. Only around half of the numbers 1–31 may win up to 3 times.

What's the current status of all the 55 numbers of Grand Lotto?

The table chart that follows lists all the 55 lotto numbers of Grand Lotto. The data presents the current or trending winning frequency of each number and its corresponding age. You can understand age as the count of draws that the lotto number has not been winning since its last win. For example, if the value of age is 8, it means that the lotto number has not been winning for the last 8 draws. Use the chart's data to guide you as to which numbers you wish to play.

Combined Trending Probability Indicators

Based on statistical data, there are standard rules or parameters that make a lotto number a winning potential. These standards, however, are based on probability; therefore, not absolute. These standards can be bent by extraordinary cases which make the 1% – 10% improbabilities.

Here's an example on how you can use the data.

The lotto numbers were classified into 6 groups based on their winning frequency arranged from highest value of frequency to lowest. The ranking percentage ranks the lotto numbers from 1% – 99% based on their winning frequency for the last 30 draws. The higher the value of frequency, the higher the percentage value.

You have two options as to how you are going to pick the numbers you wish to play:

Pick one number from each group.
Pick one number from each group but only from 5 groups. This means that you will have to pick 2 numbers from one group; while none from another group.

The Probability Standards

Winning numbers usually come from different ages.
No three numbers have the same rank values.
Once a lotto number has reached its maximum win within a 30-draw period, it may cease to win again unless its frequency of winning drops as draws pass.
50% of the winning numbers are usually those that have also won from the 6 most recent draws; while the rest of the numbers come from the older draws.

These standards are based on what's probable; in other words, what is likely to happen most of the time. What is unlikely are somewhat you might call extraordinary or exceptional cases.

To apply these standards using the data presented here, here's how you may pick your numbers:

Pick one number from each group. Make sure that no two numbers that you have picked have the same age value.
Likewise, make sure that no two numbers that you have picked have the same rank percentage value.
Your other option is to pick numbers only from 5 groups instead of from all the 6 groups. This means that you will have to pick 2 number from one group while none from another.

The not so normal cases are:

Winning numbers coming only from 3 or 4 groups.
Two winning numbers having the same age value.
Three or four numbers having the same rank value.

It is okay to risk from time to time. You may prefer to form combinations based on what's normal (referred here as standards); and, another set of combinations based on what is not normal or what is termed here as extraordinary cases.

Additional Tip

Pick 2 – 4 numbers that have an age value of 1 – 6. What is common is that each number has different age value. Rare cases are that 2 lotto numbers having the same age value; or all 5 of the winning numbers coming from the 1 – 6 draw period. It is also rare that only 1 winning number would come from this period.
Pick 1 – 2 numbers that have an age value of 7 – 12. It is not very common that 3 or more numbers would come from the 7 – 12 period.
Pick 1 or 2 numbers whose age are older than 12.

To prove the probable time as to when a lotto number is likely to win, following is the summary of the calculated data. These data were calculated from 2,005 actual results from Grand Lotto beginning from 7 August 2010 up to 17 November 2025.

When are lotto numbers likely or unlikely to win again

Purple zone. Winning numbers from the last 6 draws have the potential to win again within the next 6 draws with a probability of 49.99%.
Green zone. Winning numbers that recently win from the last 7 to 9 draws have a potential to win again in the current draw with a probability of 24.72%.
Orange zone. Lotto numbers that last won during the last 13 to 18 draws have a potential to win again in the current draw at 12.91% probability.
Aqua zone. Lotto numbers that last won during the last 19 – 21 draws have a potential to win again in the current draw at 6.22% probability.
Blue zone. Lotto numbers that last won during the last 25 – 30 draws have only a 3.25% potential to win in the current draw. These numbers are called cold numbers for the reason that they have not been winning for more than 24 draws now.
Grey zone. Lotto numbers that have not been winning for more than 30 draws are called hibernating numbers. They only have a 2.92% chance of winning again.

PCSO's Ultra Lotto 6/58 Current Cold Numbers

Cold and hibernating lottery numbers are those that have not been winning for a longer period. In this study, I established cold and hibernating numbers as follows:

Numbers that are about to turn cold. These are numbers that have not been winning for the last 17 to 20 draws; but may bounce back to be active again.
Cold Numbers. These are numbers that have not been winning for the last 21 to 30 draws. Once a number has entered this cold zone, most likely, they are going to hibernate.
Hibernating Numbers. These are numbers that have not been winning for the last 31 draws or longer. Once a number has started to hibernate, it may continue to hibernate up to 98 draws of not winning.

Cold and hibernating numbers cannot remain cold forever. Eventually, after some time, they will win again to be active and trend.

On record, the longest period that a lotto number had not been winning is 98 draws. The record holder as of this writing is lotto number 48, which took 98 draws of not winning. After winning on 11 June 2019, the next time it won again was on 26 Jan 2020.

The screenshot below shows only up to age of 45 draws. (It couldn't fit all the 98 draws). Notice however, that at age 45, the accumulated percentage already has reached 100%; making older than 45 draws already insignificant. What else does this mean?

If a cold number has reached the age of 45 (meaning, 45 draws of not winning), expect that that number is most likely to win again within the next 53 draws. It's still a long period; but its probability to take that long is only 0.63%. It is worth risking to play on a cold number once it has reached the age of 30 for the reason that its probability to hibernate is only 3.59%. A lotto number starts to hibernate once it has not been winning for longer than 30 draws.

What else do the data tell us?

At 48.25%, a lotto number may win within the next 6 draws.
The probability for a lotto number to win again within the next 7 - 12 draws is 24.22%.
The probability for a lotto number to win again within the next 13 - 20 draws is 16.58%.
The probability for a lotto number to win again within the next 21 - 30 draws is 7.49%.
The probability of a lotto number NOT to win within the next 6 draws is 51.75%. In other words, there's a 50:50 chance for your number to win within the next 6 draws.

Below is the current standing of PCSO's Ultra Lotto 6/58 cold numbers. If you see any number that has not been winning for the last 30 draws, you may take a risk of playing that number.

Data below shows the all-time winning frequency of each lotto number 01 – 55 based on PCSO's Grand Lotto drawings.

Tip. Two to four of most winning numbers come from the top 28; while the other winning numbers come from the bottom numbers.

Ranking of Numbers Based on Winning Frequency

Another way to look at the winning frequency of each lotto 6/55 number is presented in the following table where the data is arranged in descending order — highest to lowest frequency values. It gives you the idea which of the numbers are on top or bottom, and even in the middle. By dividing the numbers into three or six, you would be able to determine which numbers are on top, bottom or middle.

2015 Study

Based on 983 results starting from 2015 draws and onwards, the lotto number 26 had win most with 136 wins or 13.84%. See how the rest of the numbers ranked.

Ranked according to each number's winning frequency, the top 28 hot numbers are shown on the left of the table that follows; while the bottom 27 are listed on the right. The top 28 numbers had won 60 to 83 times; while the bottom 27 numbers had won 46 to 59 times.

Looks like the top numbers of 2013 remained on top as of 2015.

Top 28 Numbers Making It To The Jackpot

On the 21 Sep 2013 draw, the winning numbers 48-52-35-34-29-55 all belonged to the top 28 hot numbers. On 25 Sep 2013, five of the winning numbers 28-18-29-39-45-15 belonged to the top 28 hot numbers. On 2 Oct 2013, the winning numbers 22-7-9-13-18-21 all belonged to the top 28. On 23 Oct 2013, five of the winning numbers 26-6-37-34-28-40 belonged to the top 28.

In other draws from September to October 2013, six draws resulted to four top 28 numbers making it to the jackpot; while 8 draws resulted to three top 28 numbers winning. There were only 7 draws wherein only 1 or 2 top 28 numbers made it to the jackpot.

Grand Lotto 6/55: The Irony of Trending Numbers

You may think that trending lotto numbers win over and over again. But, statistically, when numbers start to trend, they stop winning. That is the irony of trending numbers.

Cold numbers win less as much as trending numbers. For example, based on 78 Grand Lotto 6/55 results from random periods, out of 468 balls drawn, only 42 balls were trending numbers; 40 balls were cold numbers.

To cover a larger population, based on 778 draws from 2010 to 2015, the results are the same. Lotto numbers with trending values of 1, 2 or 3 are likely to win over other trending values of 4 or higher.

What are trending numbers?

All numbers that have won from the last 6 draws are considered trending numbers.

Numbers with trending values of 1 or 2 are considered potential trending numbers.
Numbers with trending values of 3 or higher are considered solid trending numbers.
Numbers that have not won from the last 6 draws are considered non-trending regardless of their trending values.

How are trending values calculated?

Trending values are the number of times a lottery number has won during the last 21 draws. Why 21 draws? This is to establish the lower and higher values and the median. Based on statistics, a lotto number can rarely win more than 6 times during a shorter period such as from the last 6 draws. Mostly, a number can win only up to 3 times. So, in order to establish higher trending values, a period to be calculated from should cover at least 21 draws.

So, which lotto numbers usually win?

From a given last 21 Grand Lotto 6/55 draws, the numbers that have won twice usually win by 26%. Following is the summary of the statistical data.

Numbers that have won twice, 26% chance of winning again
Numbers that have won once, 22% chance of winning again
Numbers that have won thrice, 21% chance of winning again
Numbers that have won 4 times, 13% chance of winning again
Numbers that have won 5 times or more, 9% chance of winning again
Numbers that have not been winning (cold numbers or zero win), 9% chance of winning.

Based on the data above, if you are going to pick the lotto numbers that have won 1 to 3 times, they may have a 69% chance of winning; provided, you have picked the right numbers -- there comes the challenge considering there are still many numbers to choose from among the numbers 1 - 55. The only benefit of these data is that you can eliminate the numbers that are unlikely to win.

The same result is achieved if you cover a larger period such as the one further above.

Here's how you can determine, on your own, the trending values

List the winning results from the last 21 draws.
Starting from the most recent draw, count how many times each number has won.
Once done with your tallying, each number will have gathered trending values of 1, 2, 3 or higher. If a number received no value, this means that this number has not been winning for the last 21 draws.
Remember that all winning numbers from the last 6 draws are considered trending. Based on their trending values, it's now up to you which numbers you wish to play. Use the statistical tally above to guide you.

Tip. It's very rare that all winning numbers come from the last 6 draws.

Trending lotto numbers labels

Potential trending — Winning numbers from the last 6 draws with a trending value of 1 or 2.

How Frequent Each Number Wins

Most likely, the first thing that you would want to find out is which of the numbers win most frequently. Once you’ve got that knowledge, you’d be excited to go to the lotto outlet and play. But wait! Did you know that top winning numbers do not win all at the same time?

All-Time Winning Frequency of Each Lotto 6/58 Numbers

Here are the numbers ⎯ 1 to 58 ⎯ and the statistics on how they are performing ⎯ which numbers are performing well; and which do not? The winning frequencies is arranged, supposedly, highest to lowest (let me know if it's not ~ed). Also, the lotto numbers are divided into 6 groups (called hextile). This is to ensure that the numbers of your combination do not come from one hex group alone for the reason that, probability wise, at most, each hex group usually can produce only two winning numbers.

Winning Frequency of Each of Lotto 58 Numbers

The following chart is based on 2018 and earlier data. Hover on the bar to see the figures.

Update: Winning frequency of each lotto number ranges from 7.4% to 12.7%.

In terms of percentages, the probability of each number to win ranges from 6.5% to 13.0% ⎯ a close low probability. In fact, the top 12 winning numbers win at only 11.5% - 12.7% (as of August 2019) ~~12% - 13%~~ probability; yet they are the top performers. It looks like that each lotto number shares equal chances of winning.

Between 6.5% and 13.0%, it looks like that there’s not much difference. But in terms of frequency, you can see the significant difference between a high and low numbers. For example, #13 has won 55 times versus #55, which has won 26 times.

Through time, the probability of each ultra lotto 6/58 number has not changed drastically. From time to time, a number's winning frequency may swing up or down, but overall, the probability plateaus around 6% to 13%.

What’s the logic behind the low probability?

Assuming that there were 1000 results examined. For each result, 6 numbers were drawn; all in all, 6000 balls were drawn (1000 x 6). That means, if all the 58 numbers were drawn equally, each number would have been drawn 103 times (6000 / 58); or 10.3% probability share. Therefore, the probability of each number winning would be just around 10%, more or less. That’s the reason why the probability rates of the top winning numbers are very low. In other words, there’s too much competition for each of the 58 lotto numbers.

Top Winners Do Not Win All The Time

Why don’t the top winning numbers win all the time? If they do, we will be seeing the same set of numbers in every draw.

Let’s examine number 13.

In 2015, lotto #13 topped all numbers at 20.2%. It peaked even higher in 2016 at 25.2%. In 2017, its probability fell to 19.7%, yet it remained the #1 most frequent winner. In 2018, #13 dropped to 11.4%; eclipsed by #15 and #01 at 20.3%. Overall, however, lotto number 13 maintains its rank at #1.

Therefore, it’s not all the time that a number stays on top. At certain periods, top numbers tend to hibernate; while some timid numbers would suddenly peak on top. It appears that what goes up must come down; and when it’s down, it bounces back up. For this reason, it is also important to look at the frequency of winning of each number at shorter periods.

Testing the Top 6

Let’s find out what would happen if we would consistently play the top winning numbers.

The top winning numbers at the end of 2018 were:

If you had played these numbers regularly in 2019, you would have won:

A combination of 4 of these numbers had won once (minor prize)
Any combination of 3 of these numbers had won 14 times (minor prize)
Any combination of 2 of these numbers had won 73 times (no prize)
Any 1 of these numbers had won 248 times (no prize)
Didn’t win any 243 times

Based on the results just presented, playing the top numbers seemed not the best idea. So, where do the winning numbers come from if the top numbers do not guarantee winning?

Are Your Numbers Winning Frequently?

Knowing which numbers win most frequently can tell you why you're numbers are not winning. For example, is #55 your favourite? This number's performance is low; and that's the reason why it does not win more frequently. On the other hand, playing all the top winning numbers is not a good idea. There's a zero probability that 6 of the top winning numbers to make it as a winning result. Often times, at 42.8%, only 1 top winning number can make it. Even the chance of winning 3 numbers is only 6.7%.

So, where do the winning numbers come from? We'll find that out next.

Conclusion

Playing the top winning numbers does not guarantee winning. It does not even increase your chance of winning significantly. If the top winning numbers do not guarantee winning, which do?
In the future posts, I am going to classify the winning numbers into separate groups. With that procedure, perhaps we would be able to determine where the winning numbers usually come from.

Where do winning numbers come from? If we could only know! Let's try to find out with Statistics.

Based on 660 lottery 6/58 results, let's start counting.

The Significance of 21 Draws

I figured out that the last 21 draws are the most significant source of winning numbers. For that reason, most of the tools that I have created cover the last 21 draws. You do not need a database of all results to analyze your data. All you need are the last 21 draws.

Here's one proof.

I have collected and gathered data, one by one for each result, as to where the winning numbers usually come from. These are my findings.

90.55% of the winning numbers come from the last 21 draws. This means that a winning number is repeated, or wins again, after 1–21 draws. The closer, the better — in other words, it is more probable for a number to win again within a shorter period from the time it last won.

Take #13 for example. The #13 is more likely to win again within the next 5 draws (60%). If it has not won within the next 5 draws, it is likely to win after 6–14 draws (27%). Statistically, the #13 does not win if it has not been winning for the last 8, 15 or 17 draws; and after 20 draws of not winning. If it has not been winning for the last 20 draws or longer, it may continue not to win (remain cold) until the 27th, 28th, 31st, or 38th draw from the last it won.

In the next section, you'll find the full statistics as to when a number usually wins again.

Understanding the Stats below (Age Gist)

Age refers to the past draws where Age 1 refers to the most recent draw. It's like counting the draws backwards starting from the most current. So, assuming draws are held everyday, today's draw is Age zero, yesterday's draw was Age 1, prior to yesterday's was Age 2, and so forth. Age also refers to the numbers draws it has not been winning.
Occurence counts the number of times a winning number has won at a certain age. For example, 411 of the winning numbers usually win again in the next draw (Age 1).
Percentage (%) simply calculates the probability of such occurence. For example, there is 10% probability that a winning number may win again in the next draw.
Accum Prob is accumulated probability. It simply sums up the percentages prior to the next age to determine the range of probability. The table shows that, 50% of the winning numbers came from the last 7 draws; 80% of the winning numbers came from the last 15 draws; and 90% from the last 21 draws.

Significance of the Probability Rates

There's a 90% chance that a winning number may come from the last 21 draws.
80% chance from the last 15 draws.
70% chance from the last 11 draws.
50% chance from the last 7 draws.

Is it good then to pick 6 numbers from the last 7 draws?

No, because that covers only 50% probability. The other 50% may likely come from older draws.

Combining Lotto Numbers With The Drop Technique

Surprisingly, winning lotto numbers are not repeated. This is true based on probability tests studied for lottery systems 6/42, 6/45, 6/49, 6/55 and 6/58. As of 2008, only 1 combination had won twice out of 5805 results, a probability of 0.03% (related article). I don't know for now if such has remained true since I have lost track of all results since then. At least, for lottery 6/58, such hypothetical statement has remained true that no jackpot numbers have won more than once; every combination is unique.

Assuming, such argument remains true this day, how would you know if the combination you are petting had won before if you don't have access to a database?

Here's the answer: use the drop technique. Is it 100% absolute? No, but at least, you'd be more confident.

The Drop Technique To Make Your Combination Unique

The purpose of the Drop Technique is to come up with a combination, in absence of access to actual database, that may have not won yet previously. This is useful, if from then on, you would like to pet such formed combination.

Simple Method

Without considering some probability factors, you can easily form a combination that may probably has not won before. Here's how.

Pick any jackpot combination from the most recent draws. Arrange the numbers from the lowest to the highest number.
Pick any 3 numbers from the combination and drop the other 3. By default, keep the lowest number and pick other two of your own choice.
Replace the numbers that you dropped with any number. Make sure that the numbers you are substituting with are between the number on its left and right.

Let's illustrate with a result from Ultra Lotto 6/58.

On 6 Dec 2019, the winning numbers were 10 • 11 • 17 • 41 • 55 • 58 arranged from the lowest to the highest number. Let's form a combination base on these winning numbers.

Retain the lowest number, which is 10. We're targeting results that begin with 10.
Pick 2 other numbers, say, your favourite numbers are 41 • 58. So, the numbers that you are keeping are 10 • 41 • 58.
The numbers that you will drop are 11 • 17 • 55. Replace these numbers with your other favourite numbers. Make sure that the number you are substituting with is between the numbers on its left and its right.
Let's substitute. Replace 11 • 17 • 55 with say, 13 • 23 • 51.
Your new combination is now 10 • 13 • 23 • 41 • 51 • 58

Let's peek inside the database and see if your new combination has not won previously.

Sorted numerically, following is a snapshot of lotto 6/58 results that all begin with number 10. From this snapshot, you will find that the actual Dec 6 results in the second row; while your new combination does not exist yet, which means it has not won before. If your new combination would win, it would be placed between the 4th and 5th row.

Additional Tips

If you are replacing the 2nd number (2nd lowest), don't deviate much from the original number. A minus 1 or 2 or plus 1 or 2 is good enough.
Your options will be more flexible if you will also keep the 2nd lowest number.
If the number you are replacing is an odd number, replace it with an odd number. If even, replace it with an even number. Just limit your odd or even numbers to 4 maximum.

Complex Method

If you want to be more strategic, use the Complex Drop Technique. With the complex method, you will be needing a list of the last 21 draws.

Selecting the Ideal Combination

Follow this procedure in forming your combination to hypothetically ensure that it has not won yet.

List the results of the last 21 draws. Arrange each combination from lowest to highest number.
Cross out the duplicate numbers, leaving only 1 of the many. In the snapshot above, the numbers on the left are the winning numbers or jackpot combination (brightly colored numbers). After removing the duplicates, the result are the winning numbers on the right (pastel-coloured area).
This is the trickiest part. Your basis of picking the perfect combination are the winning numbers on the right; the ones with duplicates removed.

Pick a combination with its lowest number still intact plus 3 other numbers. In the snapshot above, three jackpot results are available: 4th, 5th and 13th draws.
Why pick a combination with only 4 numbers intact? The reason is that winning numbers usually come from different past draws. If you will pick the very latest draw, you will need to drop 5 numbers because these 5 numbers are unlikely to win again in the next draw. If you will pick the 2nd draw combination, you will need to drop 4 numbers for the same reason. Likewise, if you will pick the last 3rd draw, you will have to drop the other 4 numbers for the same reason; or in other words, only 1 of them can likely win again in the next draw. So, the last 4th draw is most ideal.

The combination from the 4th draw is the most ideal choice. 05 • 15 • 16 • 44 • 54 • 55. Now, which ones do we drop and which ones do we retain?

By default, we keep the lowest number, which is 05.
If you will look at the section where the duplicates were removed, what's left with the combination are: 05 • 15 • 16 • 54. These are the numbers (except 5) that you are going to drop for the reason that they are unlikely to win again all together in the next draw.
Thus, the numbers that you keep are: 05 • 44 • 55. Are they likely to win again together? Yes. Remember that winning numbers come from different draws of the past. In our example, 05 will be coming from the 4th draw; 44 will be coming from the 3rd draw; and 55 will be coming from the first draw. Examine the snapshot above (duplicates removed section): where do you see the numbers 5, 44 and 55? They do not appear on the same row.

Substituting the Numbers You Dropped

The combination we picked is: 05 • 15 • 16 • 44 • 54 • 55.
By dropping 15 • 16 • 54, we are left with: 05 • ? • ? • 44 • ? • 55. So, we are looking for two numbers between 5 and 44; and one number between 44 and 55.
Observe these probability rules: 2 to 4 winning numbers usually come from the last 6 draws (pink area in the snapshot); 1 number can from the other areas: yellow, blue and white areas in the snapshot.

5, 44, and 55 are located in the pink area. Therefore, we will be looking for 1 number each in the yellow, blue and white area.
Let's look for a number between 44 and 55. Your choices are: 50 in the yellow area; 49, 53 or 56 in the blue area; and none in the white area.
Let's look for the 2nd lowest number. Originally, the 2nd lowest number was 15. We won't deviate much from this figure; so we will be looking for numbers around 15 such as 13, 14, or 17. The number 14 is in the yellow area together with #50. In the blue area, your choices are 12 and 13. In the white are, your only choice is 18.
Assuming you have decided with 18 in the white area, and 50 from the yellow area, your partial combination now is: 05 • 18 • ? • 44 • 50 • 55.
Next is to look for a number between 18 and 44. You have used the yellow and white area, so, you can only get a number from the blue area. And your choices are: 35, 43, 22, 33.
Assuming you picked 35. Your new combination is now: 05 • 18 • 35 • 44 • 50 • 55

Odd:even ratio. Examine further your new combination. How many odd and even numbers? The common odd:even ratio are 4:2, 2:4 or 3:3.
Low:high number ratio. How many lower numbers (1 - 29) and how many high numbers (30 - 58). Ideal ratio are: 4:2, 2:4, 3:3.
Distances. Calculate the difference between every 2 adjacent numbers. Ideally, avoid repeating numbers. In our example, distances are: 13, 17, 9, 6, 5.

How good is your new number? I peeked into my database; there were only 2 results that start with 5 • 18. One of which had 55 but that is okay. Your new combination is good.

Theory of a Single Number To Win Repeatedly

Definitely, a single winning number can win again anytime for the reason that there are only, depending on lottery type, 42 to 58 numbers to draw from randomly. Think of the numbers 42 or 58 as one cycle that for each cycle, a number can only win once. So, if there were 156 draws in a year, that's equivalent to 22 cycles for a system 6/42 calculated as 156 times 6¹ divided by 42. Therefore, a single number can probably win, more or less, 22 times a year.

¹A cycle is composed of instances of being drawn. In a lottery system six, 6 balls are drawn out. Each time a ball is drawn, that's equivalent to 1 instance. This means, that for every draw, each number has 6 chances of being drawn. Thus, 156 draws times 6 instances is equal to 936 instances. Divide 936 by 42, you'd get 22 cycles.

As the number of combinations increase, the chance of a combination to win again becomes rare. For example, if you would combine 2 numbers from 1 to 42, you would be forming 903 combinations. For every 6-number jackpot numbers, Therefore, a cycle would consist of 903 draws.

Ultra Lotto 6/58 Top Ranking Numbers vs Low Ranking Numbers

Methodology

The winning instances of each lotto number were counted, then ranked based on percentile. Top winning numbers are those that win most frequently compared to the other lotto numbers. Top ranking numbers are basically the same except that they are expressed in terms of percentage. Thus, the most frequently winning numbers would be ranked, for example, from 90% - 100%; whereas the low performing numbers would be ranked from 0% - 10%.

The Top and Bottom Tenths

At this point, you already know that winning numbers are a mix of top and bottom numbers. However, you are still left with 58 numbers to choose from: more or less 29 top; and 29 bottom.

So, the next question is: which top and which bottom numbers are you going to combine?

Perhaps, if we could further divide and classify the top and bottom numbers, say in 10 divisions, could we get a clearer picture? Let’s find out.

I divided the data into tenths: the top 10%, the 2nd top 10th, 3rd, etc up to the bottom 10%. The results are:

Based on the above data, it revealed that each 10th group, had a fair share of producing almost the same percentage of winning numbers. Though, by just a bit, to compare the top and bottom 10th, lotto numbers that ranked 10% - 20% seemed to win more (13%) compared to those that rank 70% - 80% (8%). The difference, however, is just 5%.

Overall, the probability rates for each tenth group range from a close 8% to 13%. We can deduce here that each 1/10th group is as good as the other. Though there are groups that would produce more winning numbers compared to the others, the differences are not that significant.

Let's try 4 divisions. Maybe, we could get something.

Top & Bottom Quarters

By dividing the data into 4, we produce what is called a quartile. It is simply dividing the top 50% into 2; and the bottom 50% also into 2.

The 4 groups comprise the top 25%, bottom 25%, and middle 25%‘s. The probability rates for each quartile group to produce a winning number ranges from 22% to 31%. Let’s analyze the top and bottom 4ths.

Based on 583 draws, numbers that rank 0% - 25% (equivalent to 959 winning numbers) are likely to win more compared to numbers that rank 75% - 100% (687 winning numbers). In terms of percentage, it is 31% vs 22%; a difference of 9%.

Based on the said figures, it looks like that the bottom numbers are more likely to win than the top winning numbers. Quite an irony!

So, how is it that the bottom numbers win more than the tops? One reason is that there are more bottom numbers than top numbers. So, the chance of drawing a bottom number is greater than that of a top number.

Let’s try six divisions.

Top Winning Numbers Per Hextile

Previously, we asked the questions:
How top is top and how bottom is bottom?

When combining numbers, how many top numbers should you pick; how many bottom numbers?
Jackpot numbers are in sets of 6. So, why not divide the data into 6 groups. By classifying the data into 6 divisions, we will be able to answer the above questions.

Top, Middle & Bottom Numbers

Earlier, you learned about top and bottom numbers. Now, we are going to include another section: the middle numbers, which are as important as the top and bottom numbers.

First, let’s identify the major divisions. By dividing the data into 3 groups, we shall have the:

Top one-third (⅓)
Middle third (⅓)
Bottom third (⅓)

At this point, we just don’t have the top and bottom groups, but also the middle group. We divide further the thirds into 2 groups so that we make 2 minor groups for each major group. All in all, we shall have 6 groups, each representing 1/6th of the total rankings. For the sake of easy recall, let's label them H1 to H6.

H1. The top 1/6th or those that rank 83.34% - 100%
H2. The second top sixth or those that rank 66.68% - 83.33%
H3. The upper middle sixth or those that rank 50.01% - 66.67%
H4. The lower middle sixth or those that rank 33.34% - 50%
H5. The upper bottom sixth or those that rank 16.68% - 33.33%
H6. The bottom sixth or those that rank 0 to 16.67%

By classifying the data into 6 groups, perhaps we can find out from which group can a winning number possibly come from. The quantity of lotto numbers that each group comprises may vary. One group may comprise only 6 lotto numbers; while others may contain more than 6 or 12 depending on how the numbers are currently performing.

Winning Frequency of Numbers Per Hex Group

Having divided the rankings into 6 groups, is it possible that each winning number would come from each group? Let’s take a look at the data.

Based on 524 draws, the preceding table presents which hex group would usually deliver a winning number.

The above data reveal that each hextile group would usually produce, at most (40% ⎯ 44%), one winning number. At slightly lower percentage (29% ⎯ 37%), it might not deliver any winning number. At rare instances (17% ⎯ 21%), each hextile group can produce 2 winning numbers at the same time. Rarely that each group can produce 3 winning numbers all at the same time. And it is almost not probable for any group to produce all 5 or 6 winning numbers in one draw.

To apply the data, when combining numbers, limit your numbers to 1 or 2 per group. For example, pick 1 or 2 numbers that rank 83% - 100%; pick 1 or 2 numbers that rank 16% - 33%.

Let’s look further at the data.

The last column HS presents the probability of how many hextile groups would usually deliver winning numbers.

At more than half (51%), winning numbers would normally come from only 4 hextile groups. This means that 2 groups would not deliver any winning number. This also explains why there’s a 29% ⎯ 37% probability that a group would not deliver a winning number.

At almost equal probability, only 3 groups (at 24%), may deliver the winning numbers; on other cases, 5 groups (at 23%). On the other hand, it is almost not probable (at 1%) that only 2 or 6 groups would deliver the winning numbers; and at 0% probability that all winning numbers could come only from 1 group.

In short, having 6 groups of data, pick 3 to 5 groups. From these groups, pick your 6 lotto numbers.

To give you an idea which numbers are ranking high or low, the charts are below.

H1. Top Numbers Ranking 83.33% - 100%

These are the top performers. They ranked the highest above the rest.

The top sixth may comprise, more or less, 6 to 13 lotto numbers depending on how the numbers are doing. The chart below shows the current top performing numbers ranking 83% - 100%. Probability says that at most, 1 or 2 winning numbers may come from this group. But there's also a strong probability that no winning number may come from this group. At very rare instances, 3 winning numbers may come from this group.

Assuming you picked 6 numbers from the top sixth, how would they fare? Would they all win? Let's look at the data based on 531 draws.

The probability of matching —

5 to 6 numbers is 0%
4 numbers is 0%
3 numbers is 3%
2 numbers is 17%
1 number is 43%
not one number (zero) is 36%

Often times, only 1 or two winning numbers may come from the top sixth. This means that the other winning numbers would come from the other groups. However, there's also a strong probability that numbers ranking 83% - 100% may not produce a winning number.

H2. Top Numbers Ranking 66.67% - 83.33%

These are the secondary top numbers. The runner-ups.

Assuming you picked your numbers from this group, the probability that —

No winning number would come from the H2 group is 36%
One number may possibly match is 40%
Two numbers may possibly match is 21%
3 numbers may possibly match at 3%
4 numbers to match at 1%
5 to 6 numbers to match is 0%

The Top Third (H1 + H2)

Let's now find out the probability of winning if you are going to pick your combinations only from the top one-third or top winning numbers that rank 33.33% - 100%.

If you are going to pick your 6-number combination only from the top third numbers, the probability of matching —

no number is 9%
1 number is 31%
2 numbers is 30%
3 numbers 24%
4 numbers is 5%
5 numbers is 1%
6 numbers is 0%

Though the probability of your numbers to make a match is 91%, your chance of winning a prized money is only 30%. It proves, therefore, that the winning numbers do not come only from the top winning ones.

There are cases, but very rarely, when no winning number will come from the top ones. So far there was only one instance when all the six winning numbers came from the top third.

H3. Numbers Ranking 50% - 66.67%

These are the middle top numbers which are just above the median. Could the other winning numbers possibly come from the middle ones? Let's see the results.

The chart below shows the winning numbers that perform just near the average.

The probability that a winning lotto number to come from the middle top is 67%. However, only 5% is considered prized winners (possibly winning 3 numbers at most).

If you choose your numbers only from this group, the probability of matching —

6 numbers is 0%
5 numbers is 0%
4 numbers is 0%
3 numbers is 5%
2 numbers is 21%
1 number is 41%
0 number is 33%

Based on the above data, one to two winning numbers may come from the middle sixth above the median. But it is also possible that none of the numbers above may win.

So far, you already know that —

Is it safe to say that 5 of the winning numbers could only come from these groups? Let's see what statistics say.

The Top 50% (H1 + H2 + H3)

The top 50% are the numbers that belong to the groups H1, H2, and H3. These are the numbers that usually win more frequently compared to the bottom 50% numbers. Let's now find out if there is a strong probability that the winning numbers would usually come from the Top 50%.

Based on statistics, if you are going to pick your six numbers from the Top 50% numbers, the probability of matching —

6 numbers is 1%
5 numbers is 6%
4 numbers is 19%
3 numbers is 33%
2 numbers is 20.65%
1 number is 12%
0 number is 1.5%

Therefore —

If you are aiming to win the jackpot prize, your numbers should not only come from the top 50% because its probability is only 1%.
If you are already happy to win 5 numbers, the top 50% can only give you a 6% chance.
Most likely, the top 50% is a good source to match 2 to 4 numbers.
If 2 to 4 numbers from the top 50% could possibly win, then the other numbers would be coming from the bottom group.

H4. Numbers Ranking 33.33% - 50%

These are the middle bottom numbers. They perform just the average but below the median.

You already know by now that 2 to 3 winning numbers could come from the bottom group. The question is: from which group?

The chart that follows shows the numbers from the middle bottom (group H4).

no winning number would come from the middle bottom is 37%
1 winning number would come from the middle bottom is 40%
2 winning numbers, 18%
3 winning numbers, 4%

Likewise, 1 or 2 winning numbers may come from this group; but there's also a strong probability that there would be none.

H5. Numbers Ranking 16.67% - 33.33%

The bottom 1/3 is divided into two: the upper bottom (H5) and the lower bottom (H6). The numbers in the following chart comprise the upper bottom.

Based on 531 results, the probability of the upper bottom numbers to win is —

Looks like the results are consistent with the other groups.

H6. Numbers Ranking 0% - 16.67%

These are the low-performing bottom numbers. The bottom 1/6th are the numbers that rarely win. So, let's now find out if it is worth risking to play a number from this bottom group.

Based on the data above, despite being bottom numbers, there is a strong possibility that one winning number may come from the bottom sixth. In other cases, this bottom group may also produce 2 winning numbers but not usually more than 3.

The Bottom Third (H5 + H6)

Let's now find out what would statistics reveal with the bottom one-third.

Statistics says that the probability of —

no winning number to come from the bottom third is 5%
1 winning number, 20%
2 winning numbers, 33%
3 winning numbers, 28%
4 winning numbers, 13%
5 winning numbers, 1%
6 winning numbers, 0%

The statistics shows that it is also possible that 1, 2, or 3 winning numbers can come from the bottom third. In rare cases, 4 winning numbers can come from the bottom third.

Conclusion

Each group has the probability to produce at least 1 winning number; in few cases, 2 winning numbers.
There is zero probability that 5 or 6 winning numbers to come from one group alone.
Winning numbers come from either 3, 4, or 5 groups.
The group that gives more winning probability are, in this order: H5, H6, H3, H1 or H2, H4. In other words, go bottom (H5 H6), then go middle above the median (H3), then go top (H1 or H2); and lastly, H4. To help you remember: 563124.

Which Numbers Should You Play: Top or Bottom Numbers

My previous post mentioned that top winning numbers do not win all the time. They win most frequently than others but not every time; not from every draw. This means that from other draws, the top numbers are not the winning numbers. So, which other numbers usually win?

Top or Bottom

To make frequency data more meaningful, rank them based on the number of times each number wins wherein the most frequently winning numbers rank higher. Then, rank them using percentile ranking wherein the numbers that rank higher would belong to a higher percentile ranking, say 90% to 100%.

With the use of percentile ranking, you can determine the top 50% and bottom 50%. Applied to lottery system 6/58, the top 50% would be lotto numbers that win most; while the other half are numbers that win less.

The top and bottom 50% may not necessarily comprise 29 (58 divided by 2) numbers. They may consist of less than or more than 29 numbers depending on how they rank at the end of a period.

Findings

Based on 2911 balls drawn, statistics says that:

54% of the winning numbers are top numbers;
46% of the winning numbers are bottom numbers.

This means that winning numbers are a mix of top and bottom numbers. The next questions are:

How top is top and how bottom is bottom?
How many top numbers should you play; and how many bottom numbers?

The Top 50%

Based on 521 draws, each winning number was ranked to find out if it belonged to the top 50% or bottom 50%. (The first 60 draws were excluded from the study because their ranking were not significant yet.)

If 54% of the winning numbers are top numbers, how many top numbers would you play? In other words, how many top numbers should your combination consist of. Let’s find that out by calculating how many top numbers made it to the jackpot.

Findings

The good news is that 98.5% of the results contain the top 50% lotto numbers. That means a 98% probability that at least one top number would make it to the jackpot. However, the probability of winning a prize is only 60%, which is already good. The not-so good news is that to win a major prize (5 numbers correct), the probability is only 7.7%. To win a jackpot prize, the probability is a slim 1.3%.

Following are the complete data.

The chance of:

6 top numbers to win is 1.3%;
only 5 top numbers to win is 6.3%;
only 4 top numbers to win is 18.6%;
only 3 top numbers to win is 33.8%;
only 2 top numbers to win is 26.5%;
only 1 top number to win is 11.9%.
No top number to win is 1.5%.

The Bottom 50%

Based on the same number of draws examined, 98.7% of the results consisted of at least one bottom number. Let’s find out how many bottom numbers usually comprise a jackpot result.

6 bottom numbers,1.5%;
5 bottom numbers, 11.9%;
4 bottom numbers, 26.5%;
3 bottom numbers, 33.8%;
2 bottom numbers, 18.6%;
1 bottom number, 6.3%;
0 bottom number, 1.3%.

Based on the data above, rarely that a draw result would contain 6 bottom numbers. The most common is that a draw result would contain 2 - 4 bottom numbers.

The Middle Group

In the previous paragraphs, I only talked about the top and bottom numbers. There is another group: the middle group. These are numbers that are just above and below the median. By separating the middle group from the top and bottom numbers, we limit our choices of numbers to a few.

Even further, we can further divide the top, middle and bottom numbers into two to make 6 groups. Thus, we shall have the ~

Prime top numbers
Secondary top numbers
Middle numbers above median
Middle numbers below median
Secondary bottom numbers
Lowest bottom numbers

Conclusion

Rarely that a result of a lotto draw consists of 5 or 6 top numbers; likewise, 5 or 6 bottom numbers.
At most, draw results contain 3 top numbers and 3 bottom numbers. A safe range would be 2 - 4 top numbers.

Strategy

To make your combination, pick at most 3 top numbers and 3 bottom numbers. In other cases, you may try 2:4 or 4:2 ratio;
An option is to make 3 combinations:

one that contains 2 top numbers and 4 bottom numbers;
the 2nd has 3 top numbers and 3 bottom numbers;
and the 3rd has 4 top numbers and 2 bottom numbers.

Playing the 3 combinations option gives you a 78.9% chance of winning assuming you played all the top numbers. (Assuming there are 26 top numbers, this will require 2600 combinations.) If you wish to increase your chances by 18%, try also the 5:1 ratio (5 top or bottom).

Top and Bottom Numbers of Ultra Lotto 6/58 Based on Winning Frequency

Based on the winning frequency of Ultra Lotto 6/58 numbers, this chart presents the top 50% and bottom 50%. Lotto numbers that win most are denoted with higher percentage. It is interesting how statistics can reveal information. By collecting data and analysing them, you'd be surprised of what you might discover. Can probability data predict the next winning lotto number. Let's find out.

Top and Bottom EZ2 Lotto Numbers

Let me first give you the top winning EZ2 lotto numbers of 2019. Which of the numbers do you think are currently performing well? Based on 2019 draw results, here are the 31 EZ2 lotto numbers with their corresponding winning values and ranking. With these data, you will know the top 15 winning numbers of EZ2 Lotto; likewise the bottom 16.

How can this be useful?

Knowing which numbers are hot and which numbers are cold is a good idea. However, if a number is frequently winning, it does not mean it is going to win everyday, which tells you that other numbers can also win. On the brighter side, if a number is less winning, most likely, you would rather not play that number. If that is your number, at least, you would know the reason why it has not been winning. Nevertheless, a cold number may eventually win sometime; it might just take time.

So, when do you play a top winning number; and when do you not?

The answer is by using linear data.

Predicting Winning Numbers With Linear Probability

Is there a way to know which numbers may eventually win?

Perhaps. Based on probability data, you might just have an idea as to which numbers may probably win. It's not absolute, but at least, it may increase your chance by using the select and eliminate method. It's like select what's good, then eliminate what's not so good.

One way to know which numbers are more probable to win is the use of comparative data. For example, try to group the results into a week. Then for every week group, count the number of times each lotto number had won. By collecting and summarising the data, statistics may just reveal a useful information.

Linear Pattern

If you have a rich source of comparative data, one useful information that you can derive from the comparatives is the use of a linear chart. Plotting the instances of winning of each number will give you a hint as to the direction of the numbers.

Here's an example of a chart. It shows how number 13 has been winning during the last 30 draws; and the trend is that it looks like it will continue to rise (direction of the line is from right to left where plots on the right are based on older periods; the very last point towards the left refers to the current 30-draw period).

The question now is when exactly it is going to win. The data can only presume its probability but it is not going to be specific. An indicator perhaps might help.

Winning Indicator

I divided the results of 2019 into smaller groups. Each group comprises 30 draw results. In each group, I counted the instances each lotto number had won. The summary is as follows.

What do the data tell us? First let me explain the labels.

Wins. It refers to the number of times a lotto number has won.
Instance. It refers to the instances the value of Wins has occurred in all periods. For example, the value of 1 has appeared in the matrix of data (comparative data) 114 times (this value may change as results are added to the database).
%. The percentage of probability.
Current. Current refers to the current 30-draw period; while Instance refers to all periods, present and past.
Diff. It is the difference between the 2 percentages. Assuming the probability rates are consistent, the difference indicates if the probability rate of the current period is trending away from the ideal probability rate. A negative value may indicate that the winning number may come from the group that it represents.
0 - 8. These values refer to the number of times a lotto number has won. Zero means it did not win; 8 means the lotto number had won 8 times.

Based on the Periodic Wins data, you can deduce that:

A lotto number can win up to 8 times per period; but not higher than that. So, if in the current period, a lotto number has already won 8 times, most likely it is not going to win the 9th time.
Though possible, it is rare that a lotto number can win 6 or 7 times. So, if in the current period, an EZ2 lotto number has already won 6 or 7 times, it is more probable that it won't win again than to win the 7th or 8th time. Rather not play it unless you want to risk it.
Very often times, a lotto number wins only from 1 to 3 times. This means that a lotto number would win at least once per period. In many other cases, it can also win up to 3 times. So, when picking numbers, pick those that have not won yet; or have won once, twice or thrice.

In A Nutshell

You don't have to have the matrix of data like the one I used in my study. All you need is the results of the last 30 draws. Follow the collect, select and eliminate method.

Collect the data. Count the number of times each lotto number had won during the last 30 draws.
Eliminate the least probable. Those that have won 5x or more are unlikely to win again.
Those that have won 1x, 2x or 3x are more likely to win.
Those that have not won yet and those that have won 4x are less likely to win compared to those that have won 1x, 2x, 3x.

How often does a winning number win in a period?

Given a series of 30-day periods, how often does an EZ2 lotto number win? In other words, if a number has won once, will it win again? What if a number has already won 5 times, will it continue to win; or will it stop winning?

Sampled data were taken from 2004 - 2008 results, totaling 1495 results. Arranged chronologically, the results were divided into 49 groups wherein each group contains 30 draw results. In every group, the number of times each lotto number had won were counted and tallied. These are the results.

For each group, most of the numbers had won only twice (28.4%). In almost equal probability and equal instances, the numbers would win only once (27%). There were a few cases when some numbers could win three times (18%); while some didn't win at all (13.9%). Very rare that a number could win more than 3 times.

In the above table, Freq means the number of times a number usually win. So, 2 means winning twice. Instance would be the presence or volume of existence. For example, there were 432 instances when a group of lotto numbers had won up to 2 times only in every period.

What do the data tell us?

This means that if a number had already won twice in a 30-draw period, most likely (55.4%), it won't win again. The probability that it can win the third time is 18%; and the probability to win more than 3 times is only 12.7%.

Therefore, if you have data from the last 30 draws, you would usually play the numbers that have won only once, or have not won yet.

However, this does not mean that you are going to ignore the very active numbers. Based on the above data, at least one number could actually win 5 times up to 8 times in a given period. If you could spot this number, go ahead, play it.

AGE

The column Age refers to the number of draws since the last time a lotto number has won.

RESULTS LAST 21 DRAWS

Listed here are the lotto results from the last 21 draws. You enter the winning numbers from the last 21 draws arranged from the oldest to the latest. So, the bottom of your list should be from the most recent draw.

UNIQUE INDICATOR

This column indicates that there should be no duplicate numbers in the ZONE column. A value of 1 means all numbers are unique, which should be the case. A value of greater than 1 means that there are duplicate numbers, therefore should be corrected. A value of other than 1 means an error. This area contains formula.

ZONE

The Zone area designates the age of a single winning lotto number since the last time it won. So, if a number is found in the age 21, it means that the last time it won was 21 draws ago. In other words, this single lotto number has not been winning for more than 20 draws.

There should be no duplicate numbers in this area.

This area classifies the age of the lotto numbers into 5 zones:

Red
Yellow
Green
Blue
Grey

This area contains formula.

Red zone

The red zone is the trending zone. This is where you find the trending numbers. Two to four trending numbers usually win. In order for a number to be called trending, it has to be in the red zone regardless of how many times it has won.

Yellow zone

This is the spring zone where a number may trend again or may turn cold. Either one or none may win from this zone.

Green zone

These are the numbers that may turn cold. Either one or no winning number may come from this zone.

Blue zone

This is the cold zone where numbers tend to hibernate. Once a number enters this zone, most probably it will hibernate for a long period. Although, at times, one winning number can come from this zone.

Grey zone

This is the hibernation zone where numbers continue to turn cold or as if it has stopped winning. It is not visible in the calculator because they are more than 21 draws old. So, if there are missing numbers in the whole zone area, it means they are in the grey zone.

YOUR NUMBERS

This is where you put the numbers that you wish to play. The numbers that you pick should be in the same row as in the Zone and in the same column as in the Winning Frequency. Statistically, only 1 number usually win coming from the same row or Age. Very seldom that more than 2 numbers come from the same frequency column. More on this below on how to combine numbers.

WINNING FREQUENCY

In this area, you will find how many times a lotto number has won for the last 21 draws. Zero means no win; 1 = 1 win; 2 = 2 wins, etc. Numbers under zero frequency are the numbers in the grey zone. This area contains formula.

LOTTO № / WINS

This area contains formula that calculate the frequency of winning of each lotto number. The results are then summarized in the Winning Frequency area. Make sure you don't overwrite the formula.

YOUR COMBINATIONS

This is where you list your combinations. It shows automatically a number's age and frequency of winning. You will find this just below the last row.

How to combine numbers

Under the Results column, enter the lotto results from the last 21 draws.
Under Unique Indicator, make sure that all values are equal to 1.
Start picking your 6 numbers from the Lotto Results column and enter them under Your Numbers column as follows:

Choose 1 number from a row in Results and enter it in the Your Numbers column that corresponds to a column in Winning Frequency. For example, if 12 is in column 3 in Winning Frequency, then enter #12 in column 3 of Your Numbers.
Pick at most 4 numbers from the red zone that are not in the same row.
Pick 1 number from any of the other zones starting from the zone with the most numbers.
In case a zone has more numbers compared to others, you may pick 2 numbers from that zone.
As much as possible, no two numbers should be in the same row; and no 3 numbers should be in the same column.

Disclaimer

There are 40 million+ possible combinations but not all are probable. An estimate is that around 25M+ combinations are only probable. Though your chance of winning lotto 6/58 increased by half due to probability, you are still battling with 25 million combinations. Perhaps, you wonder, if you could only know where the winning numbers are coming from.

The Zoning Technique To Combine Numbers

Based on a study covering 449 results, the winning numbers would come from different zones.

The Trending Zone. This refers to the previous 1st to 6th draws counting from the latest draw.
The Spring Zone. These numbers usually spring up to trend again. It refers to the previous 7th to 9th draws.
The Autumn Zone. Once a number enters this zone, it starts to get cold. It refers to the previous 10th to 15th draws.
The Winter Zone. Once a number enters this cold zone, most likely it will hibernate for a long period. This zone refers to the previous 16th - 21st draws.
The Hibernation Zone. This is the zone where numbers hibernate for a long period. It refers to numbers that have not been winning for more than 21 draws.

The Trending Zone

There are two types of trending numbers.

A number that has won once during the last 6-draw period. Let's call them T1.
A number that has won twice or more during the last 6-draw period. Let's call them T2.

Often times, there are only a few T2s, say 6-9 roughly. The T1s are many, usually around 20+. Based on probability, if there were 20 T1s and only 5 T2s, what's the probability that T1s or T2s be drawn? It's a practical observation, most likely there will be more T1s drawn than T2s.

If you can list all the numbers in last 6 draws (the trending zone) that have won only once, then you can already have an idea where the winning numbers may come from.

But, could all the 6 winning numbers come from the T1 zone? Possible, but not very probable. Often times, 2 T1s can be winning numbers; in some cases, 1 or 3; in rare cases, 4.

So, say, if 2 winning numbers would come from T1 zone, where would the other numbers come from? The answer is: from the other zones.

The other zones would usually house only a few numbers. If there are 9 or 12 numbers in a particular zone, perhaps, 1 winning number could come from that zone.

How Does Zoning Probability Can Be Helpful?

Assuming your numbers are 08, 34, 35, 43, 47 and 55. How would these numbers fare? If all of these numbers belong to the T2-Zone, most likely, only 1 of them may win or none at all.

Say, another example, your numbers are 01, 05, 23, 31, 37, 45. If these numbers all belong to the winter zone (or cold zone), most likely, only one of them may win or none at all.

Therefore, it is important to know which zone a lotto number currently belongs.

How To Zone the Numbers

List all the results from the last 21 draws.
Cross out all repeating numbers starting from the oldest draw, leaving only 1 un-crossed.
Divide the draws into zones starting from the latest draw: 6 draws, 3 draws, 6 draws, 6 draws. In this order, these are your trending zone, spring zone, autumn zone, and winter zone. All numbers that are not in these zones automatically belong to the hibernation zone.
After you have crossed out the repeating numbers, you will now have a list of the numbers 1 to 58 in different zones.
Now, you can start combining your numbers.

Here's an example on how your zone chart will look like. The numbers on the left are the actual results. The numbers on the right are what remains after crossing out the duplicate or repeating numbers. This chart will also show you how old a lotto number that has not been winning. Draw #1 refers to the most recent draw.

The Current Zone Status of Ultra Lotto 6/58 Numbers

The Mystery Behind the Age

The zoning technique comes handy with ageing and vice versa. Zoning is based on age; and age is helpful in picking the probable numbers. However, you need a tool, such as the Zone Chart, to determine the age of the lotto numbers.

Age refers to a particular draw in the past wherein the most recent or latest draw is referred to as Age 1. Anything older is age 2, 3, 4, and so forth and so on. So, if the age of a lotto number is 21, not only that it refers to the 21st draw back or past, it also means that the last time that a particular lotto number has won was 21 draws back.

Based on probability, usually, no 3 winning lotto numbers or more can come from the same age. Most of the time, only 1. In some cases, 2 depending on how many numbers are currently in the same age. So, if there are 5 or 6 numbers remain in the same age, 2 winning numbers are probable. But of course, anything is possible. However, though everything is possible, not all are probable.

How do you determine which lotto number is trending? Are trending numbers a sure win? Let's find out with the use of statistics.

The Probability of Trending Lotto Numbers

In a previous post, we determine the trending numbers based on the last 21 draws. Later, we reduced it to 15, then to 12. The reason for that is that there were numbers with high trending score but were actually not trending. In a way, the high trending score was misleading.

In this post, we have reduced the trending period to only the last 6 draws. So, this post can be titled Trending Lotto Numbers Reconfigured.

Trending Period

Establishing the Trending Period

What’s trending and what’s not? First, we have to establish what is considered the ideal period to define what’s trending and what’s not.

A lotto number is trending if it wins more frequently than the other numbers in a short period. At least, a number should have won twice during a certain short period in order to be considered trending.

If a number has won twice in a row, that’s trending. If it has won twice for the last 3 draws, that’s also trending. If it has not won for the last 5 draws, then it’s starting not to trend, unless it wins again. If it has not won for a period longer than that, say in the last 7 draws, then it is no longer trending.

Based on calculated statistics, a lotto number for system 6/58 would usually win again after around 5 to 9 draws; on an average, around 7 draws, which is the most frequent one. So, if a number would usually win again within a shorter period than 7 draws, that number is definitely trending.

Defining the 7th draw as the margin or border, we therefore are going to establish our trending period to comprise the last 1 to 6 draws.

The trending period is dynamic. As one new draw occurs, the trending period shifts to welcome new trending numbers while it dispenses the older ones. This is the reason why trending numbers come and go. What’s trending today may not trend tomorrow only to trend again after a few days.

Which Trending Numbers Usually Win

After collecting the data, the statistics below reveals which numbers usually win? What’s the probability of winning if you should play all the trending numbers? Let’s find out.
Based on 2496 balls drawn:

Numbers that have trended have a 2% probability of winning;
Numbers that are trending have an 11.1% chance of winning;
Numbers that are likely to trend have a 35.1% chance of winning;
Numbers that are not trending have a 51.6% chance of winning.

How come non-trending numbers are likely to win more than the trending numbers?

Here’s the explanation.

If some numbers have trended, say, had won 3 times in the last 6 draws, which is the trending period, only one of them is likely to win again at 11% probability. The chance of such number not to win again is much greater at 88.5% probability.
Numbers that are trending are those that have won 2 times in the last 6 draws. Only one trending number is likely to win again at 39.1% probability. The chance for a trending number not to win again is 48.4%.
Numbers that are likely to trend are those that have won only once in the trending period. Two of these numbers are more likely to win at 34.5% probability. At 23% probability, 1 or 3 numbers of this sort can likely win.
Numbers that do not trend are those beyond the trending period (older than the last 6 draws). Among the numbers that do not trend, most likely 2 - 4 of them will win at 21% - 37% probability.
If a number has won more than 3 times in the last 6 draws, there’s a 99% probability that it will not win again; but it may, after some time, in the next trending period.

Let’s Review

Combining Numbers Using the Trending Method

Combining numbers using the trending method is a strategy that you can do manually; without the need of automated calculation such as in spreadsheets or apps. All you have to do is to gather the winning numbers from the last 6 draws and count.

Here’s how to do it

List all the numbers that have won from the last 6 draws. This is your trending numbers list.
Count the number of times each number has won. Let’s call this the score.
- If there are numbers that scored 3, pick one or none.
- If there are numbers that scored 2, pick one or none. Between the scores 2 and 3, favour 2.
- Definitely, there will be numbers that scored one. Pick 1, 2, or 3 numbers that scored one.
List the rest of the numbers that have not won in the last 6 draws. These are the numbers that are not in your trending numbers list. Call this second list your non-trending list.
- Pick 2, 3, or 4 numbers from the non-trending list. Give priority to the most recent ones. The numbers that have won from the last 12 - 13 draws are likely to win again than those numbers that have only won previous to that.
If there are more than one number that scored 2, pick another one and form another combination. Pick the rest of the numbers as stated above.

Statistics can give you the factual figures but the choice remains at your hands. If you are given 5 trending numbers, and allowed to pick only one, which one would you pick to combine with other numbers? The choice is yours.

In such case, when met at crossroads, trust your intuition or gut feel. Your first choice is usually right; or is it?

Winning combinations with extraordinary patterns are not common. If you are going to group 58 numbers into six such as 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and the ones, would it be common for each group to produce at least one winning number? Have you tried playing 6 numbers that are all 20s? Which combination type is most probable?

Combining Numbers from One Group

Based on 420 results examined, not one winning combination has produced 6 numbers from one group such as all 20s or 30s, etc. Though such combination type is possible, it has not won yet. If you try one now and get lucky, it'd be the first. Let's examine a few combinations.

This combination is currently not probable due to the following reasons:

The numbers are all ones (number group 1 - 9)
A combination usually contains 2 - 4 high numbers (30-58).
The difference between the highest and lowest number usually ranges from 31 - 56.
The differences between 2 adjacent numbers are not usually equal. At rare times, only 2 would be equal.

50 • 51 • 53 • 54 • 57 • 58

For similar reasons, this combination is also not probable this time.

All numbers are 50s
A combination usually contains 2 - 4 low numbers (1-29).
The difference between the highest and lowest number usually ranges from 31 - 56.
The differences between 2 adjacent numbers are not usually equal. At rare times, only 2 would be equal.

Combining Numbers from Two Groups

If combining numbers from one group alone is not probable yet, what about from 2 groups?

There are only 3 combinations that made it to the jackpot whose numbers came from only 2 groups. This type of combination is so rare that it has occurred only 3 times in 3 years. These winning combinations are:

Observing the results above, looks like we still have to witness something like 20s and 50s or 1s and 50s (examples below), perhaps in 2019 or late 2018; or perhaps today.

Observe the patterns of the winning extraordinary combinations. One group consists of 4 like numbers; while the other contains two. Not one of them contains 5 like numbers in one group (5:1 or 1:5 ratios). Therefore, not only that 6-numbers-a-group is unlikely, but also 5-numbers-a-group.

Extraordinary 40s and 50s Patterns

There are only 3 probable patterns that you can form with numbers from groups 40s and 50s. One, so far, made it to the jackpot: 445555. These patterns do not include 1:5 or 5:1 ratios.

These patterns do not win frequently. As mentioned earlier, only 1 has occurred in a year. If you wish to take chances, you might hit it one day.

Combining Numbers from Six Groups

On 13 July 2018, the winning numbers were 02 • 17 • 24 • 32 • 47 • 51. Each of these numbers represented all the number groups: 1s, 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s. Perhaps, you might think that it is the best thing to do. This type of combination has won 11 times, so far, since 2015; or a probability of 2.6%. If not 1, not 2, not 6 groups, what's the ideal group combination?

Combining Numbers from Four, Five, Three Groups

The table below shows the ideal set of numbers. Winning numbers from 4 groups are the most common. Almost half of all the results have this type of combination. Runner up is combining 6 numbers from 5 groups. So, if you're going to combine your lotto numbers, think 4, think 5. That's 78.3% probability. If you want to increase the odds, think 3 as well to make it 96.6% probability.

Triad Patterns

A triad refers to 3 lotto numbers that are next to each other in a combination, arranged in numerical order from smallest to largest number. Numbers in a triad may come from one, two, or three number groups. For example, triad 011 comes from 2 groups: 1s and 10s. Triad 123 comes from 3 groups: 10s, 20s and 30s; triad 333 comes from only 1 number group: the 30s.

There are 56 possible triad patterns. Only 14 triad patterns belong to the top 59%. This means that in 100% occurrences, 59% belong to the top 14 triads.

There are 17 triad patterns that belong to the bottom 5%; four of them have negative probability. The rest of the patterns (25 triads all in all) belong to the middle probability group.

Top 14 Triad Patterns

The table Top 14 Triads lists the top 14 most probable triad patterns in the order of the most probable ones on top. These patterns may exist at the beginning or end of a 6-number combination, or somewhere in between. Some of these patterns are not probable in certain positions. These are indicated by an ✗ under the ABCDEF columns; where A refers to the 1st number in a combination, assuming a numerical order; while F refers to the 6th number. So, if your combination is 01 • 02 • 07 • 10 • 50 • 57, ABC refers to the numbers 01 • 02 • 07 (1st, 2nd, 3rd numbers); and DEF refers to 10 • 50 • 57 (4th, 5th, 6th numbers).

What the symbols mean

★ The red star indicates better probability.
😐 The neutral emoji face indicates a low probability. An instance of less than 10 times.
The ✗ mark indicates zero probability.

So, for example, triad 011 is better in ABC and BCD positions but has never happened in DEF position. It has occurred less than 10 times in the CDE position.

An Example

The table that follows shows 2 actual results with triad 011. The first combination shows triad 011 as 1st, 2nd 3rd numbers; the second example shows the triad 011 as the 2nd, 3rd, 4th numbers. This pattern is unusual to be the 4th - 6th (DEF) numbers. If you put 07 • 11 • 17 to DEF position, your combination would be any 6 numbers from 01 - 19 only; something like this: 01 • 03 • 06 • 07 • 11 • 17. This combination is possible but in terms of probability, you may only get 3 numbers correct for the reason that triad 011 is better in the 1st to 4th order.

There are other triads to consider, however, the top 14 is more than enough to try because in one triad alone, there are more than 5 million possible combinations. However, with an aid of a probability tool, you may be able to isolate the numbers that would most likely win.

In case you are still interested, here are the 25 triads that make the other 36% most common winning triads: 113, 134, 124, 333, 335, 245, 224, 244, 235, 444, 013, 133, 355, 022, 111, 023, 000, 555, 002, 222, 033, 125, 255, 225, 114.

Combining Numbers With The Triads

Even without a probability tool, you can use the triad to form your combinations. You simply have to know the most recent results.

Pick at least 2 triads to form your 6-number combination. For example, 011 and 234.
For each number group, assign a lotto number. For example, for 0, you may pick 07 from the most recent draws.
Pick only one number from each result. If a number has been drawn more than once, pick the most recent one.
Think random instead of sequential. For example, pick one number from the 3rd most recent draw; then one number from the latest one; then another number from the 7th most recent draw, and so forth and so on. To aid you in selecting which draw to pick a number from, you can throw a set of dice; or use a spinner such as this from Google: Google's Spinner; or use the one below from Wheel Decide.
Remember to observe the odd-even and low-high probability.
Take a risk from time to time. Include a combination or two that's outside the common pattern.

All in all, there are six (6) number groups namely: 01s, 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s. From these 6 groups, you can form 46,656 patterns. As of this writing, only 210 of 46,656 patterns are active; 93 of them have been used more than once. One pattern has been used 10 times; while the rest, 2 to 8 times. From time to time, a new pattern would emerge in about 1 for every 4 draws (1:4).

The winning frequency of each pattern is not that significant to guarantee winning. The best thing that can be done, is to just figure out the most probable sequences.

To guide you on how you can maximise the benefits of probability, I have provided here two probability charts: the Single Pairs Color Chart and the Probable Triads Chart. Let’s now combine all the probable patterns to form a fewer pattern combinations.

Single Pairs Color Chart

The Single Pairs Color Chart shows only the most probable patterns. Based on probability, 45.5% of the results contain a single pair, that is, two numbers winning from the same group. Use this chart to guide you when forming your combinations.

If you find these combinations difficult or confusing to remember, simply follow these rules:

Notice that each pattern in the chart contain a color that appears twice, which means there always exists where 2 numbers come from the same color or group. In other words, a color may or may not be repeated.
If a color is not repeated, what usually follows is the next group nearest to it. For example, 10s always succeed the 1s; after 10s, 20s comes next; after 20s, 30s comes next and so forth and so on. The only exceptions are the reds and greens.

Orange or yellow may come after red; that is the 10s or the 20s may come after the 1s (1-9).
If green is in the 5th position (i.e. a number from the 30s is in the 5th position), what follows is either the 40s or the 50s.

Probable Triads Chart

As mentioned previously, single pairs make 45.5% of the results. However, there’s the other side of the coin; which is the 52.1% wherein two groups would produce 2 winning numbers each. For the reason that this type of pattern would result to a long list in a color chart, I have devised a Probable Triads Chart wherein you can mix and match the most probable triads. A triad is a common sequence of 3 lotto number groups.

Arrangement

The triads chart is arranged according to the most probable rates. The triads on top are the most probable ones. The other triads that are not shown are those that only have 2.2% or lesser probability.

The Columns

The letters in the columns refer to the position of the lotto numbers if arranged numerically from lowest to highest. Thus;

A is the 1st lotto number (smallest or lowest in the combination)
B is the 2nd lotto number
C is the 3rd lotto number
D is the 4th lotto number
E is the 5th lotto number
F is the 6th lotto number (largest or highest in the combination)

Therefore, column ABC refers to the first 3 lotto numbers. BCD would be the 2nd to 4th numbers; CDE, the 3rd to 5th numbers; and DEF would be the 4th to 5th numbers.

The Patterns

Under each column, you’ll find a pattern of numbers. Each number refers to a successive set or group of numbers. In the previous section, we assigned these groups a color.

0 refers to numbers 01 - 09 (reds or 1s)
1 refers to numbers 10 - 19 (oranges or 10s)
2 refers to numbers 20 - 29 (yellows or 20s)
3 refers to numbers 30 - 39 (greens or 30s)
4 refers to numbers 40 - 49 (blues or 40s)
5 refers to numbers 50 - 58 (purples or 50s)

So, 011 would be a number 01 - 09 followed by any 2 numbers from 10 - 19. For example, 03 • 15 • 18. You will find this under column ABC; but you’ll also find this under BCD. This means that the same pattern can be in different positions. In this example, 01 • 03 • 15 • 18 • 21 • 33, the numbers 3, 15 and 18 are in the 2nd to 4th positions (BCD). In another example, 03 • 15 • 18 • 21 • 33 • 58, the same numbers are in the 1st to 3rd position (ABC).

How To Use The Triads Chart

To use this chart, follow these procedures.

Select a triad from column ABC. For example, 011.
Under column BCD, find a triad whose first 2 digits correspond to the last 2 digits of your triad under ABC. For example, 112. BC in both triads is 11. If you are going to combine the two, it would be ABCD or 0112.
Match the last 2 digits of your triad under BCD with the first 2 digits of a triad under CDE. In our example, our last 2 digits are 12. Under CDE, we find 123. Your pattern is now 01123.
Follow the same procedure. Match the last 2 digits of your triad in CDE with the first 2 digits of a triad in DEF. This will complete your 6-number pattern. In our example, our last 2 digits are 23. Under column DEF, we find 234. Your patterns in now complete 011234 (derived from 011 112 123 234).
Based on the pattern you just formed, substitute it with the applicable lotto numbers. For example, if the pattern formed is 011234, a possible combination is 03 • 15 • 18 • 21 • 33 • 45.

Note

You don’t have to begin always at column ABC. To give a variation, you may pick a triad first from column CDE, BCD or DEF.
When forming a pattern, you may encounter more than one triad. For example, under CDE, you have both 234 and 233. It’s up to you which one you choose, or you can use both in two different combinations.
In some cases, you may encounter a dead end wherein your last 2 digits do not match any 2 digits in the triad column. In such case, just pick any triad; or you can be adventurous to pick a triad that is not listed. An example would be 001 (BCD); there is no triad in CDE that begins with 01.
Another variation is to form patterns based only on 3 columns. For example, ABC BCD DEF.
Also another variation is to match only the last digit with the first digit of another triad.

Divided into 6 groups – 01s, 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s – what's the probability that 2 or 3 winning numbers are to come from one group alone?

You can predict or expect what larger number may come next after a smaller number. For example, if your number is 21, the most probable next number would be from 30-39 (next group) or 20-29 (same group).
A group may produce 1 or 2 winning numbers. You can notice that with a pair of the same colour in the colour chart.

Perhaps, you’re wondering if there is a particular group that produces a pair more than the other groups; or, if it is possible that two (2) colour groups can each produce a pair of winning numbers? What about 3 winning numbers from the same colour group?

The Probability of Multiples

Which Group Produces A Pair More?

Each group has a fair share of producing 2 winning numbers at the same time. The probability is a close 22.5% to 30.1%. See and compare.

Based on these data, though Group 10s produces more a winning pair compared to other groups, its probability is not that extreme to conclude that numbers 10 - 19 tend to win more compared to other numbers. Therefore, as previously said, each colour number group can perform well as good as the others. That being said, you may need to play different combinations wherein each combination contains two numbers coming one from each group.

Single Pair Versus Double Pairs

How probable that two colour groups are to produce 2 winning numbers each? For example, the 22nd Jun 2018 result 03 • 22 • 44 • 47 • 50 • 52 produced double pairs: 44 & 47 from group 40s and 50 & 52 from group 50s. Using colour coding, it is going to look like this:

So, how probable that double pairs to exist compared to a single pair?

According to calculated statistics, more than half of the results tested contained double pairs. The probability of double pairs to exist, such as the example above, is 52.1%. This includes 2.7% of triple pairs.

On the other hand, the probability of a single pair to exist is 45.5%.

Therefore, when forming your combinations, have one combination that contains a single pair; and another that contains double pairs. Visually, your combinations may look something like these examples;

Solos, Triads and Quads

Here are the rest of the multiples, absence of multiples included.

Solos or absence of multiples. This means that all colours are present; all groups produce one winning number each.The probability of an absence of multiples is only 2.4%. Example is the 20 Apr 18 result – 04 • 12 • 29 • 30 • 45 • 53 – wherein all the number colour groups are represented.

Triads. Triads are 3 winning numbers coming from the same group. The probability of such to happen is 21.5%. An example is the 8 Jun 18 result wherein the numbers 41 • 43 • 49 are all in the line of 40s.

Quads. Quads are 4 winning numbers coming from the same group. The probability of such is only 2.1%. It is something like that occurs every 37 draws.
Quints and Hexes. These are 5 and 6 winning numbers coming from the same colour group. The probability of such is zero (0%).

In A Nutshell

Each number color group is as good as the other. No single group is better than the other.
In general, the number that comes after a particular number is either a number from the same group or a number from the next group. For example, if your number is 21, your next number should either be from the 20s or the 30s; same group or next group.
Jumpers. Two groups are probable jumpers: 01s and 30s (red and green colour groups).

If your first number is 01 - 09, your 2nd number can be from the same group (01s), the next group (10s), or jump to the next next group (20s).
If your 5th number is 30 - 39, your 6th number can either be from the next group (40s) or jump to the next next group (50s); but not from the same group (30s).

Reds are good as 1st or 2nd number.
Oranges are good as 1st, 2nd or 3rd number.
Yellows are good as 2nd, 3rd, or 4th number.
Greens are good as 3rd, 4th, or 5th number.
Blues are good as 4th, 5th or 6th number.
Purples are good as 5th or 6th number.
Single Pair. One of your combinations should contain at least a pair of numbers coming from the same colour group.
Double Pairs. One of your combinations should contain two (2) pairs of numbers coming from 2 separate colour groups.
Triads. Optionally, you may combine 3 numbers coming from the same color group.
Solos and Quads are very rare. They can win but very unlikely.
Statistically, playing 5 or 6 numbers that come from one number colour group has not happened yet.

The Colour Patterns: Probability of Number Groups Part 2

Review

In Number Groups Probability, you learned that each number group – 1s, 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s – has its own fair share of popularity (winning frequency). But once they are further classified according to ordinal position – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th – the groups do not share the same thing. Each group has its own territory. For instance, the numbers 1 to 9 perform well if they are your first number. To continue, let's examine if certain groups form certain patterns.

Let’s assign a color to each number group. By assigning a color to each group, it would be easier for you to visually understand the patterns.

Pair AB. Combining the 1st & 2nd Numbers

Combine together side by side any number from 1-9 with any number from 10-19 as your 1st and 2nd numbers. This is the most popular one at 33.4%.

Pair any number from 1 to 9 with another number from the same group. This means that your 1st and 2nd numbers would both come from the 1 to 9 group. This is the 3rd most popular pair at 24.6% probability (2nd under Pair AB). These first 2 pairs make a total of 58% probability.

If you want to increase your odds a little more, to 86.5% probability, play 3 more combinations based on the next 3 patterns.

There’s only 1 instance where all colors are present. The rest of the patterns contain a color that appears twice, which means there always exists where 2 numbers come from the same color or group.
If a colour is not repeated, what always follows is the next group nearest to it. For example, the 10s follows the 1s; after 10s, 20s comes next; after 20s, 30s comes next and so forth and so on. In other words, say, your number is 21, expect the next number to be between 30 and 39. The only exception are the reds (1s) and greens (30s). Orange or yellow may come after red; that is the 10s or the 20s may come after the 1s (1-9). The following table shows that the 10s are the most popular while the 50s are the least popular; not exactly the least for the reason that there are only 9 numbers in that set of 50s; compared to others which have 10.

Overall, however, we can deduce that each group has a fair share of popularity. Look at the pie chart that follows. You can see that each group’s winning popularity is almost equal to the others. So, no matter which group you pick, your numbers are good.

Does this mean that it is good to pick a number from each group? What about picking 2 numbers from each group; how would they fare? Let’s explore more.

Probability Per Group Per Position

By arranging each lotto result numerically from the smallest to the largest number, we would be able to see a more informative probability data.
The table ⎯ Probability Per Group in the Ordinal Position ⎯ reveals how the group of numbers are doing in terms of frequency of winning. The figures are in percentages (%). Analysis of the data are explained in the next paragraphs.
