The robots have a hollow-wrist design with an opening of 50 millimeters, which makes it possible to integrate all known welding packages and simultaneously obtain a high repeatability of less than + / – 0.05 millimeters. Since they have degree of protection IP54 are suitable for operation in harsh environments, which are typical for welding.

The endlessly rotating axis 6 saves time, while the combination of powerful engines and low weight (245/238 kg) to ensure a high productivity of welding experts. KR 16 arc D which has a payload of up to 16 kg, is particularly suitable for larger items, for example through thick plate applications. But if the scope is important, KR 16 L8 arc HW is clearly the first choice with a range of up to 2015 millimeters.

After the launch of the first KUKA robot with a hollow-wrist design back in 2007, founded the company now these two new models in the light of this construction. The optimized arm with double-sided mounting on the robot has proved its efficiency in production environments. It ensures greater rigidity and reduced vibration – and it does not go to pieces as a result of minor collisions.

Cutting Metal Process Of Arc Plasma, The metal cutting aims to eliminate in the form of chips, lots of metal from the workpiece, in order to obtain parts with measures, shape and finish desired. These processes require much power to remove the chip from the workpiece. Although cutting tools today are much more efficient, speeds starting materials have also increased. Faced with this problem which we have the option of using plasma arc cutting, this is the most suitable for high speed cutting of stainless steels and ferritic not. It is also applicable to carbon steel. In the courts for obtaining the same quality as the flame, a rate 10 times greater.

WHAT IS PLASMA ARC CUTTING?

Before clarifying this question, I recall that the plasma is considered the fourth state of matter after solid, liquid and gas. The plasma sewn for a cluster of positive ions and neutral atoms, free electrons. And gas obtained by heating to extremely high temperatures. Changes in states of matter involves a certain quality of heat (latent heat of transformation) and to transform water into steam is necessary to produce heat. In the same way. The arc gas supplies heat to take the plasma state. Later when the plasma returns to its gaseous state returns the same amount of heat.

The process of plasma arc cutting, also called PAC (plasma arc cutting), separating metal using an arc constrained to melt a localized area of the workpiece at the same time removing the molten material with a high speed jet ionized gas that leaves the hole of constriction. The plasma is an ionized gas, hence the name of the process. The plasma arc usually operate at temperatures of 10 000 ° 14 000 ° C. Below is an outline of how this process:

A plasma arc is a gas which is heated by an arc to reach a state of at least partial ionization, allowing you to conduct an electrical current. In any plasma arc exists, but the term plasma arc torches applies to using a constricted arc. The main feature that distinguishes the plasma arc torches of other arc torches is that for a current and gas flow rate given, the arc voltage is higher in the constricted arc torch. The arc is constricted by passing through a hole in the electrode. When gas passes through the arc plasma is heated rapidly to a high temperature, it expands and accelerates as it passes through the constriction hole into the workpiece.

The intensity and speed of the plasma depend on a number of variables, among which are the type of gas, its pressure, the flow pattern, the electric current, the size and shape of the hole and its distance from the piece of work. The process works with direct current, straight depolaridad. The orifice directs a stream of superheated plasma from the electrode to lapieza work. When the arc melts the workpiece, the high velocity jet expels the molten metal to form the cut. The cutting arc is connected or “transferred” WORKING piece, so-called transferred arc.

To start the arc cutting method is used starting with pilot arc is an arc between the electrode and the tip of the torch. This arc sometimes called non-transferred arc because it is transferred or connected to the workpiece, as does the transferred arc. The pilot arc provides an electrically conductive path between the electrode of the torch and the workpiece so that you can start cutting the main arch.

The technique of starting with pilot arc most common is to make a spark of altafrecuencia between the electrode and the tip of the torch, the pilot arc is established in the resulting trayectoionizado. When the torch gets close enough to the workpiece so that the pen pilot arc or flame touch it, establishing a electrically conductive path between the electrode and the workpiece. The cutting arc will follow this path to the workpiece.

A BIT OF HISTORY …

The CAP was invented in the mid-1950s and achieved commercial success soon after its introduction in industry. The ability of the process of cutting any electrically conductive material made it particularly attractive for cutting non-ferrous metals which could not be cut using the process of oxy-fuel gas cutting (OFC). At first it was used for cutting stainless steel and aluminum, but as they develop the process was to have an advantage over other cutting processes for cutting carbon steel as well as nonferrous metals.

ADVANTAGES OF THE PROCESS

    * Compared with mechanical cutting processes, the amount of force required to hold the workpiece in place and move the torch (or vice versa) is much lower for the process of plasma arc cutting, which makes no contact

    * Compared with the OFC, the plasma cutting process operates in a much higher energy level, allowing higher cutting speeds.

    * The PAC has the advantage to start immediately, without preheating. The instant start is particularly advantageous for applications involving interrupted cutting, like cutting meshes.

DISADVANTAGES OF THE PAC

    * Compared to most mechanical methods Decorte, presents hazards such as fire, electric shock, intense light, smoke and fumes, and noise levels that are probably not present in mechanical processes.

    * PAC is difficult to control as precisely as some mechanical processes to work with close tolerances.

    * Compared with the OFC, the PAC team tends to be more expensive, requires electrical power and present danger of electrical shock.

Steels Welding for Cryogenic Applications, Natural gas is more efficiently stored and transported in liquid phase, which involves taking the material to temperatures below -163 º C. This requires economic and materials that work well at low temperatures, such as steel to 9% Nickel, which has been developed to have good toughness and impact resistance at low temperatures to prevent the spread of cracks, good ductility and strength traction. This article will review the metallurgy and weldability of these steels, general welding and the precautions to be taken into account to make a weld with this steel.

Cryogenic Materials Metallurgy

The most critical property of steels for cryogenic applications is their tenacity. Ferritic materials show a change in their mechanical behavior when exposed to low temperatures, and this is manifested by a reduction in the toughness of steel, characterized by a change from ductile to brittle behavior as the temperature decreases below the critical temperature of transition. This temperature can not be assessed on all materials depending on their crystal structure, in the case of steels, this temperature is presented in ferritic steels while not shown in the austenitic.

WELDING OF STEEL TO 9% nickel.

Usually these steels are welded in the condition after heat treatment. The preparation of the board must be done carefully, should be avoided sharp edges to try to induce no magnetization in the plates. Surfaces must be carefully cleaned with acetone or some organic solvent to remove contaminants that
can cause defects in the weld.

Aspects in the manufacture of welding
• Evaluation of the welding processes to use
• Material supply to use
• Welding Procedure

Evaluation of welding processes to employ:
Welding processes such as submerged arc welding (SAW), shielded metal arc welding gas (GMAW), arc welding electrode tungsten (GTAW) and coated electrode welding (SMAW) can be employed, however the SMAW process turns out to be a viable and flexible to weld in any position or material and field. For this process are commonly used basic electrodes.

Filler material used:
Input materials to vary from those of ferritic alloys high percentage of Ni (80Ni/20Cr/0.26C), they are generally used in high temperature applications. Ferritic alloys around 12% Ni are cheap, but they are not accepted for the sizes of storage tanks today. The primary objective in selecting the filler metal is to get a counterpart to the base metal that is tenacious, ductile to reduce residual stresses in the HAZ (heat affected zone) (elong.> 35%), and with a coefficient of thermal expansion low and similar to the base metal to prevent thermal fatigue in the union. Because the liquid natural gas tanks are subject to continual expansion and contraction, the constant of thermal expansion filler materials should be similar to the base material. Figure 7 shows that the filler material ENiCrMo-6 is closer to thermal expansion of the base material at different temperatures.

This multiprocess PIPE-MILLER PRO ™ offers superior arc performance in all welding processes which have advanced technologies.

Lets be used by less experienced operators to make quality welds, maybe even better than the respectable welding electrode. only break the paradigm and accept that if you can, as it proved its superiority when working with a gaseous mixture such as the type 90-10. The healing of the bent test and qualification of the process itself, with people of low profile, were more than enough to understand the advantage and versatility, as we said, this welding system.

Miller Electric Mfg. co PipePro recently introduced its Multi-Process ™, designed to improve productivity pipeline welding processes; for Offshore and field piping and pipe fabrication applications. The system you may attach the PipePro ™ 12RC or briefcase-style feeders PipePro bench, and pistols PipeWorx Bernard ® 450 ™ PipePro RFC (Root-Fill-Cap) or root filling and finishing.

The system of Multi-Process Welding of Pipe-Pro has the advanced welding process patented by RMD ™ (Regulated Metal Deposition, a modified process of shunting) designed for root pass welding and Pro-Pulse ™ (which is easier to use than conventional pulse pipe applications out-of-position). Provides unmatched versatility, as the PipePro welding system offers superior arc performance in all processes: Stick, TIG, MIG, FCAW, Arc-Air: Cutting and Gouging. Operators are able to select the most suitable welding process for application.

“The RMD PipePro with RFC 450 and Pro-Pulse provides less skilled operators to produce welds that meet API, AWS, ASME and other code requirements,” said Mike Roth, GPS Group, Marketing Manager, Miller Electric Mfg.. Co. Easier to use than competitive systems, operators can gain skill with the process RMD Pro, much faster than TIG and Stick processes. As a result, the RFC 450 PipePro can help alleviate the chronic shortage of qualified welding operators allowing manufacturers to train people in less time. However, RFC 450 Pipe-Pro delivers superior arc performance in these processes are made arc.
Furthermore, Roth says, “instead substituting RMD Pro Stick TIG and passes critical or root, can improve productivity by 25 percent or more. Cycle time improvements result in faster progress, better rates deposition, fewer arrests and stops and starts, in the case of solder coated, significantly less time cleaning. Therefore tube makers can not afford to overlook the long-term value against tight deadlines or cuts operating costs of other processes or equipment, which offers PipePro RFC 450. ”

The 450 PipePro has an output of 450 volts amperios/44 cycles of 100 percent. Exclusive Auto-line technology ™ weighs 163 pounds and occupies 0.229 m3 in volume. Auto-Line provides the flexibility to accept any kind of primary energy (190 to 630 volts, single or three phase, 50 or 60 Hz) without any physical linkage mechanisms. As a result, global companies can standardize on a single system to simplify the inventory. Auto-line also improves weld quality and may reduce some changes in fluctuating power environments because it maintains a rock-steady arc despite primary power variations within a range of 190 to 630 volts

The welding of aluminum using laser technology is a topical subject that is rapidly spreading throughout the world of light alloys. Performance and operational flexibility are married with mechanical characteristics of the foreground, making possible the application of this technology in fields hitherto manned by traditional welding methods.

This technology will also be on display in METEF FOUNDEQ-2010 in the exhibition area dedicated to welding due to the participation of Tube Tech Machinery, which has been investing resources in developing this innovative technique of welding.

At the fair, the company will exhibit the new TS 5.12, a machine able to trim and weld plates with nominal dimensions of up to 12,000 x 2,500 mm and thicknesses ranging from 1 to 8 mm, to obtain finished sheet of large format, with maximum size of 12,000 x 5000 mm. For the first time Tube Tech Machinery is preparing to use a fiber laser resonator 4 kW IPG Photonics confident that, after thorough examination and many tests, is today the best solution for welding without filler material. The car will be ready for testing testing from January 2010.

GAS ARC WELDING PROTECTOR In this process the bonding is accomplished by the heat generated by an electric arc generated between an electrode and the pieces, but the electrode is protected by a glass for you inject an inert gas such as argon, helium and CO2. With It generates an arc protected against oxidation and also well controlled in terms of penetration, thickness and width of the weld. It is widely used to weld stainless steel, aluminum, copper and magnesium. There are two types of shielded arc welding: TIG and MIG.

TIG Welding (tungstein inert gas) is one in which the electrode of the machine is of a refractory material such as tungsten, so that the filler metal should be added separately. MIG welding (metal inert gas) is that the metal electrode is a consumable that is being used as filler metal, so this system is considered continuous welding.

A secondary method is the MAG (metal active gas) which is used as a protective carbon dioxide, which oxidizes some alloying elements such as Si or Mn.Algunas characteristics of electric arc welding electrode revestidoEl main factor that makes the welding electrode coated with a method so useful is its simplicity and low cost. Other processes, such as arc welding and tungsten electrode inert gas, metal arc welding and inert gas welding and flux cored arc, they could not displace the market for coated electrode welding.

All that you need a welder to work with this process is a power supply, cables, an electrode holder and electrodes in addition to the security features as a mask, helmet and gloves.

Power supplies are readily available, come in different sizes and shapes, and their cost is relatively low.
We know very well the factors involved in the design of power supplies used in welding with covered electrode, and for that reason it is easy to manufacture and not have to make large investments in equipment. For example, a typical individual welding machine AC single phase, designed to blacksmiths and for people who do work at home, has a range of current outputs from 60 to 180 A, adjustable through five outlets 60,110,125, 140 and 180 A, for welding with coated electrodes 3 / 32 “(2.4 mm), 1 / 8″ (3.2 mm) and 5 / 32 “(4 mm) in diameter.

It includes: cables, earth clamp, electrode holder and switch on and off, and weighs just over 30 kg.
Normally the power sources are small, lightweight and portable. They can range from a simple transformer with AC welding up a generator powered by an internal combustion engine or a three-phase transformer with rectifiers for welding continua. other cases, such as large industries, power plants have welding equipment and a network distribution of the welding current, achieving a reduction of installed capacity in relation to the use of individual stand-alone equipment, the effect of low resulting simultaneity factor.

However, it is difficult to maintain constant current in each spot weld, without influence from the action of the remaining centers.

All teams have a manual welding voltage-current characteristic with a negative slope, so that changing the arc voltage “Va” the effect of variations in the length of it (due to the imperfections of manual labor and irregularities of the arc) are not significantly modify the welding current Ia (characteristic of constant current) to avoid altering the deposition of the electrode material. It should also be aware that when you turn on the arc, playing the work with the electrode (Va = 0), the resulting short circuit current should remain normally limited to 1.2 times the rated current, not to give rise puncture or defects each time you start the arc. Another factor to consider is the open circuit voltage, which should be above the arch to facilitate ignition.
