I caught up with Chantell and James for an engagement session, and enjoyed some time getting to know them.

James wasn’t too keen on having his photo taken at first, but he was great and played along with the process, and as we got to know each other we were able to take some really great, nice relaxed shots!

We first went to Abbotsford Convent and had a lovely wander around, as it is a place that Chantell and James enjoy spending time at and have even considered getting married there.

They ended up deciding on Emu Bottom Homestead for their wedding, a spot that Chantell and James loved for its beautiful leafy, country garden atmosphere.

It was so lovely chatting with Chantell and James, and talking about their plans for their wedding. They’re such a relaxed couple, and although they’re enjoying simply taking wedding planning in their stride, they seem to have everything sorted for their big day!

Fiona and Phil live in Sydney, and their family and friends are scattered amongst other cities, so the couple made the most of an excellent opportunity to spend a week in the amazing Yarra Valley, inviting their guests to share that week with them.

Bold colours and deep reds were a theme at Fiona and Phil’s wedding and fitted seamlessly with the soft afternoon light and colours of autumn  in the landscape.  The Stones of the Yarra Valley provided the perfect backdrop for their intimate gathering of guests who appreciated the serene location and beautiful time of year the couple had picked to marry.

A highlight was seeing Phil and the boys arrive by helicopter, with all of their guests watching enthralled! Fiona made a very stylish entrance arriving in a classic Rolls Royce, and looked absolutely amazing and so truly happy to be marrying Phil in such an ideal scenario!

We enjoyed lots of laughs throughout the day, and the couple really included me and made me feel a part of their intimate bridal party. Phil was quite nervous about the photos initially, but really relaxed as we share jokes and laughed amongst his nearest and dearest friends and family, allowing me to capture his relaxed, fun side in our shots!

We couldn’t help but gasp as we rolled in to Daylesford and felt serenity sweeping over us. The sun was streaming so wonderfully through the brilliant tall gums in the area.

I met the boys at Sailors Falls Estate where one groomsman had just arrived from Singapore just in time to join the others in their preparations! We then moved on to the lake house where we met up with the girls who were having way too much fun to even consider being nervous or stressed! It was great to see.

Although there were some ominous clouds, and discussion of moving the ceremony indoors in case of rain, the sun came out during the ceremony and showered Bec, Dave and their guests in gorgeous warm afternoon light.

The wedding had a great vintage, light atmosphere and it was obvious that Bec had put lots of thought into the fine details of the day. Bec spent months collecting and scouring for vintage pieces of glassware, books, and frames to use to decorate the lake house. It all came together so beautifully.

Bec and Dave clearly surround themselves with wonderful people in their lives, and had such a lovely extended bridal party. Everyone was there for Bec and Dave and showed so much support to the couple, and you could really see just how important Bec and Dave were in their lives. They were also very good at having a great time and lots of laughter!

Linh and Rangi shared the most amazing multicultural wedding with their friends and family at the Tracey Centre. Combining elements of each of their cultures, the ceremony featured Mauri traditions including the Haka and a Mauri procession, and was followed by a Vietnamese tea ceremony.

Linh and Rangi are such beautifully genuine people, and their families and friends were so obviously pleased and excited to be sharing their wedding day with them.

Before the reception at the Luxor Centre, the bridal party enjoyed an impromptu picnic in the grounds of the Tracey Centre. The picnic had been lovingly prepared by a friend, and it provided a great scene for us to snap a few photos while everyone relaxed and had fun.

Linh and Rangi have been together since high school, and they’re still so happy and excited to be together. They live across the road from Linh’s parents, so we were able to wander between the two houses to capture photos of both the bride and the groom getting ready.

The couple and their families were always so thoughtful and inclusive. At the reception there was a lolly table for guests, and a special one for the kids who were running around having a lot of fun! Family is such a big part of this couples’ life, so it was lovely to see everyone together enjoying the day!

I was lucky enough to spend a great afternoon with Lauren and Daniel to take some relaxed photos for their engagement session.

It’s not often that I can come back from a shoot with a story about surviving a life-or-death experience with clients, but with Lauren and Daniel I have an exciting memory to keep! We were watching some kangaroos in the orchard we were strolling through, when something else startled them and they started bolting towards us!

It was such a thrilling moment, and we felt so relieved once it was over. I definitely feel a lot closer to Lauren and Daniel after that moment, and spending an entirely lovely afternoon with them in the orchard.

Lauren and Daniel enjoy visiting the orchard together, and I can definitely understand why! There was such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, and the settings were so beautiful.

I really look forward to shooting Lauren and Daniel’s wedding, and can’t wait to see them celebrate on what sounds like it is going to be an excellent day in St Leonards.

Julia and Ged had recently spent some time at the Williamstown Botanical Gardens, lazing around and enjoying the space and scenery. That’s why it made the perfect relaxing location for an engagement session to take some shots and get to know them better in the lead up to shooting their wedding.

I had a great time wandering through Williamstown and the Botanical Gardens with Julia and Ged because they were such a happy couple. In the past, Julia had been told by a photographer, to look less happy – I don’t think she can help it! She has such a great bubbly, happy personality, and it really shows in the photos!

I’m really looking forward to capturing the atmosphere at Julia and Ged’s upcoming wedding!

Annette was so expressive, it was lovely to capture the looks of shock and absolute excitement as she walked down the aisle! You could really watch Annette’s nervousness disappear as soon as she saw Daniel, and she became more relaxed and playful as the two of them really got into the excitement of their celebrations.

The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Terrace in the Botanical Gardens, where in the beautiful light as the sun set in the afternoon, we snapped some lovely spontaneous shots of Annette and Daniel having an impromptu relaxed dance practice.

It was such a playful and fun shoot, full of spontaneity with Annette even borrowing my glasses to wear in a couple of shots!

Annette and Daniel are honeymooning in America, I hope they had a stack of fun together on their trip.
