My router does not appear in the Wireless Network Connections.?

The router works, as I have it wired to my computer and I receive internet through it that way. However, when I attempt to connect to the router on another computer using the wireless usb stick provided with the router, it does not find my router.

In my router settings, the wireless is enabled and I have the SSID set to broadcast. I have tried resetting the authentication and security of the router to open, and then back to secure, and tried all of the various types of authentication, with no success. I even added the second PC’s MAC address to the allowed connections in the router, even though I am not filtering the MAC addresses. I have tried different channels, and modes. Still nothing.

I am, however, able to find several other wireless connections within my building. The router is only maybe 10 feet, if that, from the wireless USB stick, so if it can find other connections, it should find mine.

I even tried plugging the USB stick into my computer to see if it was an issue with the PC I had been using. My computer is unable to find my router through the wireless, but it finds the wired connection! I tried setting up a wireless network on both computers, and they cannot see one another. I connected to one of the other wireless networks that are open in our building, and am able to get internet that way, but I don’t feel right about doing it. I used it long enough, however, to attempt to ping one computer from another, using the command prompt, and the request timed out. I am able to ping google, though, and use the internet.

The router is a TRENDnet TEW-632BRP. I have the antennae attached to the router, and the proper software installed on my computer. Both computers use Windows XP. I have had the router working wirelessly in the past, and my Wii is currently able to access the router, even though the computers cannot. I do have a Wireless Connections icon in the Network Connections window. I am able to add my SSID through there, but it still does not appear in the Wireless Network Connections list, and I am still unable to connect to it, even when I leave the router open (unsecured).

I have attempted renewing the second computer’s IP address, clearing the address altogether, and setting it manually.

On my router’s main page, it lists my computer & IP, the Wii, and nothing else. Does that mean the router cannot see the other computer either, and it is a mutual blindness? Though, my computer cannot find the router wirelessly either, even though the router sees it (or has it added?), so I don’t see how this would change anything.

Would restarting my router help? Or is there something else I’m missing? Maybe the wireless part of the router itself (and/or the antennae) are broken? I’m not sure what to do here, and I don’t want to have to buy extra wire to run across to the other side of the room in order to use the internet on the other computer. :/

WiFi Network Question for all you Experts!!! HELP?!?

1) I just bought an HP Laptop which has Windows 7 on it and has Norton Firewall and Antivirus. When I scoot my mouse over the “Network Internet Access” icon in the toolbar it shows a few people who have wireless internet networks in my apartment building. My question is this. My Internet has been really slow since I got the laptop last week. It originally started out fast but has slowed down the last few days. I have cable internet service and a modem hooked up to my laptop via an ethernet cable. Could someone be hijacking my internet service eventhough I don’t have a wireless network setup (at least not that I know of) and don’t have a router. I have Printer and File Sharing turned off. (if that even matters) How can I tell if this is what is happening to me.

2) Since getting my laptop the internet service has been pretty slow. I am tempted to hijack one of the wireless networks on my list of networks thru windows 7 from another tenant. If I do this, can they somehow hack into my pc and see what websites I am visiting and get banking info. and the like?

Red Dragon Archfiend and The Dark Emperor Structure Deck version 2?

I want to add Red Dragon Archfiend, its Assault Mode and trap card Assault Mode Activate into my Dark Emperor Structure Deck, I think it would work very well together, using Red Dragon Archfiend to destroy most all of my opponents monster and use Macro Cosmos or Dimensional Fissure that removes card that are destroyed out of play and finally use D.D. Dynamite to deal huge damage to my opponents life point, thats 1 of the strategy I thought off. Its just that I don’t know what Tuner Monster is suitable for my deck? I add a bit of Invasion Of Chaos Cards as well. Here is my card list:

He went door to door telling people that he should be voted for the up and coming election for our HOA. He openly called people names, attempted to make some of his neighbors look bad so he could look good. He also made it clear he would not ok property improvement and quickly shot down any attempt on the board to do such. It was like he wanted our property to be crappy and poorly valued.

His home was just listed to sell. The bank took it over. He owes more
more than the property is worth. In lieu of a foreclosure the bank is selling his property as a quick pay.

BUT JUST LAST MONTH THIS MAN WAS CAMPAIGNING DOOR TO DOOR TRYING TO BE VOTED ON THE BOARD. .. FORECLOSURES AND THIS TAKE MONTHS TO OCCUR.

I knew this freak was a nut.

How can you Help free an Outstanding young American journalist imprisoned for Reporting on Human rights abuses?

The excellent young American journalist Jake Hess – who is a good friend of mine – has just been imprisoned in Turkey in extremely worrying circumstances. Hess has been factually reporting from Southern Turkey for over a year now on way the Kurdish civilian population is being treated. Here’s a sample of his excellent reporting:

“Compared to most internally displaced Kurds in northern Iraq, Shamal Qadir is almost lucky. Since the Turkish army devastated his village, Kuzine, in a bombing raid Jul. 1, he’s been living in a schoolhouse, where room temperatures are comfortable and basic amenities are accessible.

“Our family bought land and started building houses in Kuzine in 1996. We did it for our children, so they’d have a place to live in the future,” Qadir tells IPS. “Now, our dreams have been destroyed.”

Qadir is one of roughly 6,500 people who have been driven from their homes by Turkish and Iranian bombings of Kurdish border villages in northern Iraq since May 24.”

For rigorously and compassionately reporting on a horrifying situation, Hess has been jailed.

Please take just a minute to call the Turkish Embassy in Washington DC on +1 202 612 67 00 +or email them at contact@turkishembassy.org and politely explain that you expect this outstanding US citizen to be treated with decency, and released at once. A country that calls itself a democracy should not be imprisoning journalists for telling the truth.

Does it bug you when?

Does it bug you when people refer to the SUV as a Truck? I know most SUVs are built on truck frames but they are Sport Utility Vehicles, if they were actually trucks they would have a bed in which you could put stuff. If you want a truck buy a truck, you cant have both! lol

How do I get our apartment to take care of our pigeon problem?

I am a college student living in an apartment that our school has a contract with. For the last 9 months we have been bugging anyone who would listen (and some who wouldn’t) about two pigeons that keep coming to our balcony. This would not be a problem, except that the air unit is on our balcony and is accumulating a good amount of poo. It is all over the filter and the balcony, and now they have built a nest right behind the unit.

It took us 7 months but we finally go them to call someone to put out traps. First, after two weeks, they came over to “figure out why the trap hasn’t worked yet” and said that they saw bread out on balcony signifying that we were obviously feeding them. We came home and there was no bread and we still have not seen the pictures they took of the balcony. Next, after another week, they came to inspect the trap again and said the trap door was on backwards and accused us of tampering with it. They have removed the trap from our house onto the floor below
