Yesterday I was outside with my camera and along came my happy and spunky 2 year old Ryan! He was all excited about getting to play outside when all of a sudden mommy said, "smile for the camera" and this what he did! I swear he is NOT a fan of the mamarazzi he has! LOL!

This was also right before he left for his haircut too! Toddlers are so emotional and show it well too! :)

{1:12} MCP photo Project 2012

I decided that in order to become a better photographer I needed to embark on a journey with myself and look through the lens with my eyes wide open...and thus this is the prefect project.

Our first task is the word Resolution!

Every year at the beginning of the year most people make a resolution. Some make some impossible ones and others make simple ones.

This year I made the resolution to do more activities with my kids....especially RYAN! He is like a sponge and I would be a fool not to take advantage of his new found creativity and imagination.

My Mommy Body

I am so upset at my mommy body right now! Let me give you it's back story! LOL!

I use to play volleyball and dance in college and I was extremely active and fit. Somewhere along the way I fell in love and got married. When I had my first child I did not plan on loosing any weight because I always knew I would have another one, so why bother right? After I had my second child just a little short of a year ago....I thought the weight will magically disappear and I could no longer use my excuse of I am having another soon. Well the weight was here to stay and I am miserable....I am not the person I want to be physically.

DO I want to be stick thin....NOPE! That's why diets don't work for me. What I want I have to work for 100%. I am just stuck in a RUT. I actually don't even want to be a size 5 or 3, I would be content at a size 8 or 10, instead of the 12-13 I am. It's scary to me to even say numbers.

Today I decided to work out, so I did. Half way through the work out I wanted to stop. I went through it all and then I had a good cry not about the workout, but about my body. I am so disappointed in it and myself. I use to be able to push myself harder. It use to not JIGGLE! It use to be me!

I always try to love myself as I am but I can't because I know I want and expect of myself and I am ready to take the reins back to my body.

So I am starting a FaceBook group with mommy's just like me that need to help keep each other accountable! I will be inviting a trainer to join the group as well as a motivator.The group will be called mommy bodies: https://www.facebook.com/groups/225709054172962/ I would love to have you join!

Potty Training....ughhh!

I am so upset that for the first time in my life as a parent I feel like a failure. I am at the point of tears. I try every day to potty training Ryan and we FAIL every time!! It's funny how this one works because he has to do it all on his own and I can't baby him at all...we are learning to grow up together and it's HARD!

I feel like a am doing it all wrong. It would be easy to just give up and try later but then what if the same thing happens. I will be researching this all day and see what can I do to motivate him.

You know a couple of years ago I got my Canon...and until recently I have been really becoming serious about photography. It is something you learn at a slow pace and with time to get the hang of it.

Of course of favorite subject is my very own daughter Stacy and I am really thinking about pursing a career in photographing newborns/children. There is just something so magical about children. It is kind of like Peter Pan and his never never land! They are so innocent and so free.

I would like to share this journey with you as I learn and heck it might even help someone out there too!

Big Brother Ryan

You know Ryan may be 2 but he is the typical brother. The type that wants nothing to happened to his sister UNLESS of course she touches his "stuff" and then he wants to take action.

Stacy is 10 months and he is always watching her like a hawk....you'd think he is the mommy. When she ocasionally gets in trouble and I say, "That's it miss you are in BIG trouble!". Somehow Super BRO Ryan comes in running and saying, "no, no, no, Stacy not in trouble....mommy be nice....she is a baby!" LOL! He never seizes to amaze me.

It may be a rare occasion that I leave Stacy with hubby for a quick run to the store but, when I do and Ryan goes with me, he never fails to remind me that Stacy is NOT with us and WHY pm earth would I leaver her. I mean after all we are the 3 musketeers right?

Sometimes in the mornings she might me crying he runs over and says "hurry mommy, hurry Stacy is AWAKE and she need a bottle!" and he will waltz into the room and say, " Good morning STACY, it is a sunny day!" LOL! When at times I doubted WHY did I want another baby.....would Ryan think he was not enough that I had to have another.....NOW I know WHY?

I had another baby so Ryan will never be alone. He needed someone to care for just as much as I care for him....I think many times the way he cares for her is a reflection of how I care for both of them and that really makes my heart smile!

So CHEERS for Big Brother Ryan! :)

I can't believe it is already going to be 2012! This year was an amazing year and I really neglected my blog! :( But 2012 will be different I can promise you that! As you can see we have changed our banner and started some house cleaning!

Ryan and Stacy are growing at such a fast rate I can't hardly keep up! I am desperately trying to hold on to every single second in their lives! I sometimes feel I even get caught up in living life too fast!

Hubby and I have had an amazing year too...I mean of course we had our up and downs but for some reason something in us has "clicked" and lately we have been more in sync and it feels GOOD!

Well I hope you have missed us too and you stick around...we will make it worth your while! :)

Wow....life has been amazingly crazy. The last time I posted Ryan was still 1 and I was pregnant with baby #2.

Well Ryan is now two....oh and terrible two's are in FULL FORCE!!!!

And baby #2 is a BABY GIRL named Stacy Nicole!

I look forward sharing my life with you and my amazing and full of life kiddos! :)

I know it has been a while, I have been extremely busy trying to be SUPER mom, wife, and business woman. I have lots of exciting things coming to my blog and store. I also have a couple of must have holiday items I will be sharing with my readers.

Ryan??? Ryan has been doing good although last week he had a horrible COLD and poor baby wasn't even able to function...thankfully some rest, medicine, and lots of mommy time has made it all better and he is slowly getting over his cough.

Belly Bump??? HUGE!! LOL! Yes, I make big babies and she is an active one. I have an appointment tomorrow and I will give you all an update on that. Can you believe I still have not gone crazy shopping yet??? I think it is time right??? LOL!

I woke up this morning and CLEANED all day...I just kept going and going and GOING!

I started with my closet because every time I have to get ready to go out I turn to hubby and say the same phrase, "I have nothing to wear." LOL! So I emptied my closet today so that next time I really don't have nothing to wear and then a shopping trip would be in order. :)

Next the kitchen.....ughhhh "the kitchen" it took me forever to clean. I literally got fed up with everything and tossed it. Needless to say, going grocery shopping tomorrow!

Then I decorated for Halloween every thing turned out so cute and Ryan was so surprised when he saw it.

So by this time I was sooo worn out and tired, I asked hubby to take out all 5 trash bags and he said, "In a minute." He was cleaning outside all morning. Of course stubborn me.... said I'll do it myself, rolled my eyes and went to get the bags.

Well I got 4 out, then number 5 came up and it was heavy so I dragged it.....BIG MISTAKE....it opened and everything was everywhere. OMG!

Hubby was upstairs and I just gave up sat on the side of the bag and CRIED. I was outside in sun, sitting in the middle of my driveway crying! LOL!.

Hubby, came out and asked, "Are you crazy???" I said, "NO, just pregnant!" LOL! I cleaned up the trash then finished cleaning some more.

Oh man....this nesting got the best of me today and I am sooo tired and worn out. My feet ache and so does my belly. I told hubby I cleaned enough for the WHOLE YEAR (what's left of it) of course my hubby the "cleaning freak" looked at me with his yeah, sure face.

So.....did Ryan help???

Umm...if taking off your diaper and running around the house naked is help then, YES!
If writing on the WHITE wall with an orange crayon is helping then, YES!
LOL! He was a busy boy today.

I promise there is never a dull moment with this lil guy. So in his honor I think I should do a weekly post called, "What RYAN did this week!" because their are plenty of moments.

So this week first he wanted to be like daddy and "SHAVE". Well he shaved the side of his head. LOL!

Tonight he decided to get an early start on Halloween, I guess he choose to be a Ghost! LOL!

(Yeah those are orthpedic shoes....that will be tomorrow's post!)

20 weeks pregnant and counting!

This week on Monday I had a Dr. Appointment and everything is right on track and normal. She is still a lil girl!(Yippee) She is a big girl and a very active girl. She is already head first so lets hope she stays that way.

I have been feeling better then ever this last month and actually have been working a whole lot on my boutique and getting ready for the holiday guide coming up. So what about weight gain?? Ummmm....none so far but I know this is the month where it all begins...and you know I am not worried about that all...it is what it is and that's it!

I have been craving a lot of hot and sour stuff as usual nothing out of the ordinary. I love Flamin' Hots with Lemon...to be honest it is my addiction. Bad part is that here in Puerto Rico they do not sell Flamin' Hots so I have to have people send them to be by the boxes. LOL!

I have also noticed how different this pregnancy is. I mean when I had Ryan we took it day by day because I had no clue what is was happening in me. Now, I am more aware of my body and I am dreading that this will be my last pregnancy. I love to feel the baby.

The only pain I have been having is around my pelvic area...the doctor said it was probably my C-Section incision being stretched in the uterus. I have been thinking a lot lately about this cut. I am trying for a VBAC and I wonder if I will cave in. I guess I will leave this question unanswered for a post of it's own.

How is Ryan doing??
Ryan is being Ryan. LOL! He is now more needy and wants mommy more. He wants to be held more and if anything happens to him he knows mommy can make it better. He is my lil man!

Early Childhood Education – Acquiring Sign Language (GUEST POST)

One of the keys to surviving in a tilted economic system in which opportunities to achieve a decent standard of living will be limited is versatility – and the ability to communicate articulately in a variety of ways with the widest possible audience. This includes bilingual ability as well as the ability to communicate in non-verbal ways for the benefit of the disabled – primarily the deaf.

At the same time, a growing shortage of qualified interpreters fluent in American Sign Language has led to more career opportunities – and if current trends continue, it's likely that skilled ASL interpreters will have little problem securing lucrative employment in a society where such a commodity is destined to be in short supply.

Signing Before They Can Speak

A great deal of research has clearly demonstrated that the early years – ages 2 to five – are the best time to educate children in different modes of communication and language. This goes beyond the spoken word (though it is an optimal time for children to learn a second language); many young children have an aptitude for signing as well.

This is not as odd as you may think. As you know, many indigenous peoples around the world,
including American Indian nations, have used sign language for centuries to facilitate communication with other tribes with whom they do not share a language. Some paleontologists and anthropologists theorize that Neanderthals – who apparently lacked the vocal mechanism to produce many spoken words – depended a great deal upon hand gestures to communicate.

In fact, recent research suggests that sign language is innate. An article published in the Boulder Daily Camera in 2003 presented strong evidence that babies as young as six months old communicate with their hands:

"...by 6 to 7 months, babies can remember a sign. At eight months, children can begin to imitate gestures and sign single words. By 24 months, children can sign compound words and full sentences. They say sign language reduces frustration in young children by giving them a means to express themselves before they know how to talk." (Glarion, 2003)

The author also cites study funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development demonstrating that young children who are taught sign language at an early age actually develop better verbal skills as they get older. The ability to sign has also helped parents in communicating with autistic children; one parent reports that "using sign language allowed her to communicate with her [autistic] son and minimized his frustration...[he now] has an advanced vocabulary and excels in math, spelling and music" (Glarion, 2003).

The Best Time To Start

Not only does early childhood education in signing give pre-verbal youngsters a way to communicate, it can also strengthen the parent-child bond – in addition to giving children a solid foundation for learning a skill that will serve them well in the future. The evidence suggests that the best time to start learning ASL is before a child can even walk – and the implications for facilitating the parent-child relationship are amazing.

Finally this weekend I felt my baby! It is so exciting to know the little one is in there and moving around. We went to the movies on Sunday and Ryan fell asleep on my tummy and she kicked him the whole movie. LOL!

Just in case you were wondering we went to see THE TOWN and it was AWESOME!

Ryan is also becoming more and more HIM! LOL! Not that he wasn't him before but his personality is really starting to show. He is also very attached to me and me to him. I honestly do not know how I will do it when it is time to go to the Hospital to have baby. I am going to Cry sooo much!

So many exciting things are happening in these next couple of months in my life and my blog.
