And now… for a sexy sneak peek at THIS IS FOREVER…

Seeing Lola after eight months was a fucking kick in the teeth. She had changed her hair, it was purple with black streaks, and she was wearing one fucker of an outfit. Platform Mary Jane’s, her signature, purple torn fishnet thigh highs with garters that ended in bows with skulls on them, micro mini in black satin with a lace trim. She had tripled up on her belts, her little baby tee molding to her torso like a second skin. It was razor cut in places, showing skin and the purple of her lace bra. Her arms warmers were knitted with little skulls on them. He was pretty sure she wasn’t wearing underwear also, the girl just loved to shock. Dare he think it was for his benefit? He wasn’t sure he even saw her, thinking he was dreaming the perfection before him.

But dreams don’t blow you off… at least his didn’t. His dreams, her especially, blew him. When dreams blew you off, those were called nightmares, and those sucked. Sucked like life was sucking right now. She had walked in with the rest of her band, greeted everyone but him, her gaze lingering a little too long on Colin, Rhys’ little brother, but then moved on as she kissed cheeks and hugged people.

He had to adjust his groin, discreetly of course, when she and Saffron hugged and snuggled. Apparently over the past several months Saffron and Lola had become quite the BFF, with Lola staying at Saffron’s place in New York when she had to go in for several shoots and meetings with her record company. Rhys had teased him about getting face timed and seeing both of them in little booty shorts and white tank tops… but he didn’t think they were thatclose.

And worse, he didn’t think seeing her all snuggly with Saffron would illicit the images rolling through his head. Not that Saffron wasn’t hot, but he just didn’t dig his best friend’s girl like that. He grabbed a tootsie pop and unwrapped it, sticking the thick ball into his mouth. He watched her move from person to person, but never to him.

What. The. Fuck.

When everyone sat down, she sat at the other end, didn’t even bother to look at him. He went through dinner in a blur, his anger getting to him more and more. What the fuck was going on? He was beginning to feel like he was invisible. Maybe it was a nightmare?

When she got up and went to the bathroom, he followed, after exchanging a meaningful look with Rhys.

“So you’re just not going to say anything to me?” he said as he caught her coming out of the bathroom.

She looked at him and then sighed. “I didn’t want a public thing to happen.”

Public thing?

He cocked his head and scowled. “And what the fuck does that mean?”

She looked him up and down. “I don’t know if I’m ready to say hi like I want to.”

Winter rolled his eyes. “So you can wrap yourself around Saffron, eye Colin up like he’s a steak, which by the way he’s not even eighteen yet, eww,” he ticked off on his fingers, “Yet you can’t even just turn and wave at me?”

Lola shook her head. “It’s not what I wanted. And Colin is going to be very popular…”

“You just didn’t wanna talk to me at all?” he asked, thoroughly confused. She was the one that pushed for the tour, and by all accounts she didn’t have issue with their past. It was what gave him hope.

She moved closer and shook her head. “That’s not it.”

“Then what’s it?” he bit out, his hands clenched at his sides. Gods, only she could infuriate him like this. Fuck she smelled good. All honey and warm clover… no one smelled like Lola.

Her voice lowered. “Do you like my outfit Winter?”

He growled. Fuck yes he liked her outfit. Loved. Wanted it crumpled on the floor of his bedroom. Wanted to peel it from her slowly, kissing every inch of skin he exposed.

She reached for him, her fingers tugging him closer by the belt loops of his jeans. “Good. You’re supposed to. You don’t get anything from me Winter Tulane. No greeting, no, little wave, no explanation. Eat your heart out baby.”

She got closer, her lips just against his, a slight almost imperceptible move of the hoop through the middle of his lip and then she was gone, back towards the party, her ass shaking with a sashay that had blood rushing from every place in his body to his cock. Fuck. What the hell was going on?

“Hey Lo,” he called after her. She gave him the finger and kept walking.

Game on. Game fucking on, he thought as he followed her back into the room. Confusion didn’t even convey how he was feeling about what happened, but holy fuck the signals she was throwing off were so convoluted he didn’t know if he should fist pump for getting her so close to him or brood over her words.

A 13 Shades of Red Novel

Rhys Bellamy is the front man for the wildly successful 13 Shades of Red, a band hailing from New Orleans that is just a bit more then they appear. He’s sexy, caustic and on a path of self destruction that has everything to do with the fact that he can speak to the dead. A man hounded by the death of his fiancée, Rhys is a lothario of the highest caliber. His life, his band, and his agony celebrates his lost love, Phaedra, and it has made him a very popular man with the ladies, even if they will never mean anything to him. Too bad Phaedra has never and will never contact him.

When the band’s first US tour meets with some unforeseen management issues, Saffron Richards is brought in to take care of it. A veteran of the business, Saffron knows all about Rhys and his reputation and doesn’t want to become another notch on his belt. Sound check. It figured she would get there late. She figured a straight flight from JFK would have gotten her here on time, but a torrential storm and a 5 hour backed takeoff were the culprits. No matter, she was here now, and ready to work.

Xxieda had told her to find Nyx, she would have all the info for her, so after she had made it up to her room, she came back down to the event space to search for her new band.

She walked in to the drummer and guitarist playing a song, an instrumental. Nyx still nowhere to be found. She stood there, listening. Regardless of the style of music, these guys had talent. Loads of it.

The drumming got softer and she saw Rhys walk out and scream out the beginning of the one song she knew. Holy shit. She blinked. Wow. Talk about a 180 from what she first heard. He wasn’t playing to the crowd, because there wasn’t one.

He turned as the bridge started, but didn’t look out yet. She had a chance to look him over and sighed. Tall, emo sexy in the ‘I don’t work out but I’m cut as hell’ way, his ass and better things hugged perfectly in the jeans he wore, leaving nothing to the imagination. She had ten bucks that said he didn’t wear underwear. Perfect emo haircut, long in front, falling over a side of his face, shorter in the back, she suspected it didn’t have any product in it, but she was sure it was because he wasn’t pandering to the crowd. His skin was pale, in contrast to the bassist he was standing next to, who had the sexy caramel color of a guy used to being in the hot Louisiana sun. Clearly Rhys Bellamy wasn’t a huge fan of the sunshine.

That was when he turned and started singing to the crowd, or more appropriately, her. His eyes locked on her and Saffron had chills. Holy Hell. Now she knew why girls got wild over him. That look was pure sex, so at odds with the screaming coming out of his mouth. His eyes flashed in the lights hitting him, giving him a more sinister air but it didn’t matter, that look had done its job, and Saffron tried not to fidget as he watched her.

Once again the music changed up and he started singing, really singing. He was good. He sang a line and looked right at her and winked and then turned and the music changed again and he started screaming, the breakdown getting heavy. If she was in the pit right now and there were fans there, she knew she would be getting her ass kicked. Well she was sure if she was on the east coast she would. West coast hardcore kids, by all accounts, couldn’t hold a candle to their east coast counterparts. East coast kids were brutal.

The song ended abruptly and they all looked at each other. Rhys turned towards the sound guy. “Perfect Jerry. Thanks.” He said and hopped down off the stage and strode, well, it was more like a swagger, towards her.

“This is a closed sound check. How did you get in Cher?” he said as looked her over and licked his bottom lip. His voice, when he wasn’t singing, had a sexy Cajun lit to it, thick and smooth like a good bourbon.

She cocked her head, getting a really good look at him. Hot damn, the Cajun was hot and the accent, she tried not to squirm under the scrutiny of his eyes. She was in trouble. His eyes were green, but with honey running through it. Most would call them hazel, but the green was just too vivid, like moss after a rainstorm. She could feel the cool around her. Damn.

“I’m looking for Nyx.” She said with a clear, non lust drenched voice. She was quite proud of herself.

“Nyx? Why would you look for her?” he asked and walked closer. The accent was thick, and sexy.

“Is she around?” she asked and looked around him, trying to ignore the effect he was having on her. In all her years, men didn’t affect her as such. Why of all people would she would get the urge from a guy reported to be an even bigger slut than Madonna in her heyday?

“She is. Backstage. I could take you back there.” He looked her over. “I don’t see a pass anywhere on that amazing outfit.”

Saffron rolled her eyes. Okay so he was digging on her. That went with what she knew of him and his exploits. All signs pointed to the fact that he was quite the lothario and she was sure he was getting a semblance of his full come on.

She smiled at him. “Nyx? It’s kinda important.”

He pouted and shrugged, clearly not happy with her impervious nature. He probably relied on his charm and accent with women. It wasn’t that she didn’t like it, she did. More than she cared to admit. But this was work, not play, and while she would revisit that look he gave her later after she had gone to bed, right now was all about proving she could do this.

She followed him behind the stage to a corridor and then through to a set up of rooms. He walked to one and rapt loudly on the door. “Nyx? Some hot chick is here to see you, and she is not fazed by my charm whatsoever.”

Nyx opened the door and looked at Rhys, then at Saffron and smiled. “Oh thank god!” she said and went to Saffron and hugged her.

Rhys leaned back against the wall and smirked. “Now that’s what I’m talking about. So who is she? Cousin? Sister? Nah you don’t hug family like that. Ooh Nyxie did you happen to start playing for the other team? Not a bad choice if I do say so myself. Can I watch?”

Saffron almost choked. Nyx turned to Rhys and frowned. “Hardly, you oversexed bastard. This is Saffron, our new tour manager.”

Saffron smiled at him and he just paled and shook his head. “Knew this was too good to be true…”

“Why?” she asked and detangled from Nyx, surprised at how okay she was with the other woman’s affection. Normally, she didn’t get chummy with other women. It leads to catty bullshit.

Rhys smirked and looked her up and down and pushed off the wall. “Forget I said that, I reserve the right to pass judgment until a later date.” He winked. “Welcome to the insanity Saff.” Then he turned and walked back towards the stage and the waiting band.

Nyx sighed. “Well he just threw down the gauntlet. Good luck with that.”

AAD happened in NOLA, which was awesome, I got married in NY which was even more awesome, Resplendence Publishing picked up our Djinn series (previously published) and gave it swank new editing and swank new covers, and Audra and I have decided to put a book out self published this December... which is why I'm resurrecting this bloggy a bit... to keep people in the know.

because Spring has SPRUNG!

So Audra is ready to pop, shes got three weeks till due date, and we are all on pins and needles here to welcome my niece into the world! Once the blessed event happens, then I will be telling the world everything!

In other news, I wanted to mention that we sold the Duvall Inc. series to Resplendence publishing, and Wishes, with a new name and edit (including 2 new chapters!) will be out in September followed in October with Glamour(with a new name and edit), Gifts in November (new name and edit ) and London for the Holidays (new edit) in December. So Your fall and winter will be filled with marsh and janey... and will be making you all ready for the next three books in the series!!!

Wedding stuff is going really well! October is coming hella fast, and I feel like I am ahead of the game with planning... though if David Tutera wants to do a Steampunk Neo-Victorian themed wedding he could contact me... I really do need all the help I can get to make it amazing. As it is, and with my budget, its just going to be a shadow of what it COULD be... But... Cie la Vie. *shrug*

I will be attending MarCon easter weekend in Ohio with PJ Schnyder and A.L. Davroe, so if your going look for us. We will be the ones dressed for notice LOL. I'll be on the UF panel, the writing sex panel and the para rom panel, and I HOPE they throw me on the Steam lit panel... It will be good to get out of SC and see the girls... I miss them.

I will also be at Steampunk's Worlds Fair in NJ in May... more on that as it get closer... quite excited about it though. I get to see PJ, A.L., Leanna and Lia that weekend, so a reunion with my girls is what I'm all about!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I'm now in our new house and getting everything unpacked, and getting ready for the year from hell. Why the year from hell? Well I have recently moved, So there is that, As well as AAD, Audra having another baby (A girl!) and I'm getting married in October! Busy as hell year I will tell you!

There obviously is going to be a ton of writing happening, and some new work as well as re releases! First, All the Eververse series and Dragon Elementals books will be re released via print starting in Feb, with new editing and new covers! So? Shall I show you the pretties that are the new covers?

And... We finally have a new cover for the 3rd in the Dragon Elementals series, which will be out later this year:

We love it, and as you can see, it has a new name.

And did I mention we have a new website design? We do! Quite happy about it.

And... I understand the Duvall Inc. series will be coming out soon... details to come!

Breaking Silence: Help! Seriously, HELP!

So yesterday, I lost my engagement ring at the palisades mall. And of course, whoever found it didn't event bother to bring it to the management,or the security office. I normally think horrible things about people in general because everyone is usually out for themselves, and it looks like I was right. Whoever it was that took my ring, I hope they die a painful, scabies filled death as their fucking fingers and toes fall off.

I'm a good person. Had I found a ring I would have turned it in, mean its a sapphire engagement ring, its not gold, or diamonds, someone specific obviously loved it... right? Well apparently the person that took it is a total asshat and they need to be run over by a fucking train or something else of that sort.

So anyway, this is where you come in. I need to buy myself another engagement ring, and as much as it sucks to do that, at least I know I wasn't doing it originally. So in order to do that, we need book sales. I don't care if you buy a print book and burn it or use it to wipe your ass. I don't care if you buy an e copy and never read it, just please help me out with this...

Almost all our books are available at Amazon, Kindle(except the dragons) and ARe (both Stella and Audra Price books and Dagmar Avery Books) My hope is to be able to repurchase my engagement ring in March when I get my next bout of royalties, which, sadly would have went to other wedding things like jewelry for the wedding party, and securing the DJ... but sacrifices will be made, because that ring really was the ring of my dreams and it just doesn't seem right to get married in October without it.

So please, pick up some of our books, help a girl out will ya?

Just needed to stop by and mention something.

Please do not buy our book The Soft Edge of Midnight from any retailers or from the publisher site, Siren/ Bookstrand. We have a year left on the contract and apparently they feel that 129 copies of the book sold in 4 years is average, and wont be giving us our rights back. Hell you couldnt even FIND the book on their site all of 2009 without doing some creative naming (and no, when you put our name in on there, it didnt come up, nor was it listed under paranormal.) We made 8$ last quarter, and really, it would be more beneficial to everyone, especially them, to let the book go, as it would save them time if they didnt have to send us a statement.

But I guess they dont see it that way, which is their prerogative. And its mine to tell my readers to forget it even exists. Thanks so much everyone, hopefully when the contract is up it will be new and fresh to everyone!

Going to be taking a break for a while, so this blog won’t be updated till morale improves. I have reached a breaking point that I can no longer ignore without real issues with health (both mental and physical) and straining relationships with friends and coworkers.

Suffice to say this decision didn’t come lightly, but with the daily reminders of things that I cannot change or help, it’s probably better if this all just fades into the background until something good happens. Something I don’t see coming any time soon.

I’m hoping that 2012 will be a better year. The New Year will bring severe changes, babies, new homes and a wedding… and maybe other things will follow suit in the realm of good things happening for us.

Some Awesome news!!!!

Well I'm back in NY, and settled in as much as can be at this point, so I figured I would announce all the awesome that has happened in the last few weeks...

First... Audra is pregnant again! She is due in April, and shes hoping for another boy!

Second... Joseph and I bought a house in SC! Its a really nice house, perfect for the first we will own together. I love it, and We move in in January.

Two great things right? 2012 is going to be INSANE. Moving, Another baby in the family, the convention and a wedding... I don't think we will be able to stand all the awesome that is to be had.

Now, on the writing front... we have some news as well... well I do. As Dagmar, Ill be featured in a steamypunk anthology later this year (i believe). The story is about a a painter that is painting all the ladies of the new aristocracy... but why and what setting hes painting them... well that's what you have to read the story for. I loved writing it, and I told my agent that there's three more stories to come from that setting, so she was super excited about that.

And guess what else? I have a new writing partner... The two of us have written several stories with the dark court of fae involved and the first of the stories will be available this halloween with Ravenous Romance. Right now its titled Antebellum, but that could change. We will post about it soon enough!

And it looks like The Djinn will have a new home for the holidays! Wishes, Glamour and Gifts have all had an overhaul, a title change and a better edit, and will be coming out later this year for the holiday season. Ill have all the information along with new covers soon so stay tuned!

Now for something NOT so fun...

All our Tease Publishing Print books will be down off Amazon in January. This is because we are switching over to create space (because without borders we dont need the distribution angle, especially because BN doesnt give two shits about small press) but it might take a bit to get it out there... So if you wanted our books as is, PLEASE pop by Amazon and ORDER them... it would make out holidays that much more awesome and you will be getting the last of that edition.

Last day in SC...

So I'm finally coming up for air while on vacay to post. It has been the busiest vacation I have ever had, and that's a damn good thing. We managed to hit Savannah and see the hotels for AAD 2013, so now its just a question of who gets the bid. they were all faboo, and everyone was super nice, I wish i could pick them all, but Sadly (and sorta not sadly) AAD will never be DragonCon size... So that's out.

I leave tomorrow in the AM for NY and normal life once again, maybe with some new surprises and such. It was good to get away, even if I didn't do much relaxing while here. I'll hopefully have some great news coming up, so stay tuned... LOL.

So today is some writing that needs to be done, or my agent will beat me senseless, some art that needs done for clients and then (blessedly) shopping at Coligny! YAY! I can finally finish shopping!
