<p><em></em><span style="color:#000000;">Child sex offenders are switching between the internet and the offline world with increasing frequency &amp; severity in order to target and (in some cases) abduct young victims and parents could &amp; should do more, claims the UK national policing centre for child protection – the <em>Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre</em>.</span></p>
<div><span style="font-size:x-small;"><span style="color:#000000;">Almost 5,500 reports were received by the Centre during the past 12 months of which 2,500 came from members of the public using the organisation’s unique online ‘CEOP Report’ button.  Anyone providing an online environment where children go can apply to embed the ‘CEOP Report’ button by visiting </span></span><a title="blocked::http://www.ceop.police.uk/digitallibrary" href="http://www.ceop.police.uk/digitallibrary"><span style="font-size:x-small;"><span style="color:#000000;">www.ceop.police.uk/digitallibrary</span></span></a><span style="font-size:x-small;"><span style="color:#000000;">. 1,373 of those reports were from young children themselves of which 89% related specifically to instances of grooming.</span></span></div>

<p><span style="font-size:x-small;">The <strong>recommendations</strong> include: </span></p>
<div><span style="font-size:x-small;">* Raising awareness of the <em>National Care Standards for eating well</em> </span></div>
<div><span style="font-size:x-small;">* Increasing staff training in the areas of eating, drinking and nutrition </span></div>
<div><span style="font-size:x-small;">* Ensuring staff numbers are sufficient to encourage and help residents to eat well and drink regularly  </span></div>

<p>The Child Poverty Bill was introduced to the House of Commons on 11th June 2009 as Bill 112 Session 2008-09.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Bill would provide a statutory basis to the commitment made by the Government in 1999 to eradicate child poverty by 2020.&#8221; It &#8220;places a duty on the Secretary of State to meet four United Kingdom-wide income poverty targets by the end of the financial year 2020&#8243;. These are Relative poverty; Combined low income and material deprivation; Persistent poverty; and Absolute poverty.</p>
