Hi Friends!

If you love social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter, then you'll probably like this site called WuffStuff - an online community and resource for people who love dogs. It's a cool place where you can upload photos of your dog, share videos, create a blog, and chat with other dog lovers.

It's been fun looking at other dog pictures and how they live. I don't get out very often, so WuffStuff is a nice way to meet other dogs via the internet. I had no idea there were sites like this!

7 Tips on How to Teach Your Dog Tricks

Dogs are truly man's best friend. Through positive training methods and lots of patience, dog owners can enjoy teaching tricks to their dogs.

Dog tricks are the best way to have fun and bond with your dogs at the same time. Dog owners can teach from simple to complex tricks by which dog and owner can share quality time together. Your dog will surely gain much confidence as he learns to amaze you and his intelligence will develop as he learns new tricks. Here are 7 top tips how to teach your dog fun tricks:

Tip#1: Choose a dog trick which is compatible with the ability and personality of your pet. You cannot force the dog to learn things that might be too hard, too scary or difficult for him or her. When you are on the lookout for the tricks to teach your dog, you must put into consideration the safety of your dog. This should be the priority above all.

There are tricks which are not suitable for a specific breed. If you are dealing with a Basset for example, it will be too hard to teach him how to sit up. Poodles can perform this trick better. Try a trick which can be done by any dog. Consider starting with a bow or shake hands trick.

Tip#2: When you are dealing with training dogs, keep in mind that they love to be rewarded. Training your dogs entails a great deal of motivation. Try to give your dog his favorite treats after performing a trick. Weiner bits, milkbones, squeaky toys or anything motivating for your dog, can help a lot in learning a trick easily.

Tip#3: Like people, dogs tend to be overloaded with information especially when you are working on tricks which are totally new to them. Take it easy.... not too much info at any one time.

Tip#4: Take a few minutes of break each day. This is to avoid getting your dogs to be burned out. Eventually, they will lose the enthusiasm towards learning new tricks. As a responsible dog owner, you should always exert effort to keep things fun and always positive.

Tip#5: Never ever punish your dog for not delivering the trick. You are adding much to his frustrations as well as yours.

Tip#6: When teaching tricks to your dogs, try to perceive them as human beings trying to learn new skills. You must start teaching your dog small steps on a logical process. Progression of the tricks should be done in a slow but steady manner. Otherwise your dog will be too overwhelmed. Eventually, he will lose his enthusiasm.

Tip #7: Always teach your dog with patience. Have fun and your dog will surely appreciate every moment you invest for him to learn a trick. Show your dog that you are eager to teach him tricks but not on an aggressive tone. Allow your dog to make a connection on the command you are giving and the time he can execute the trick. In this way, you are helping your dog to avoid being too confused.

Why It's Important to Play and Walk With Your Dog

A dog friend of mine, Milo, recently went to the vet because his human companion noticed a big bump on his ear and forehead. The vet discovered that the bump was cancerous. Luckily, they caught it in time, so they were able to get rid of it.

I started to wonder if Milo was depressed and his depression had something to do with the cancer. I learned that most diseases start in the mind. Milo is the only pet in the house and he stays inside all day. His human companions didn't walk him very much, so all he did was lay around on the couch.

After Milo's human friend realized that Milo may be feeling sad about staying home all day by himself, she started to take him on regular walks. Milo looks so much happier now! Can you tell from the picture? He looks healthy and he's lost some weight.

So, kids, make sure to play and walk with your dog on a regular basis - every day if you can. Just like humans, dogs need exercise to stay healthy and be happy!

Why You Should Dance Everyday

Hey Kids!

Well, it's been a very long, but very fun summer. As usual, I've been outside playing with my ball and begging anyone and everyone to play fetch with me.

Now that it's starting to cool down, I will be spending more time inside - which means that I will be able to spend more time blogging and surfing the web.

Recently I was checking out videos on YouTube and found this video with a baby dancing to Beyonce's song, "Single Ladies"...

I think it's important to dance everyday. Not only is dancing fun, it's also a good way to exercise! I know that when I dance I feel good and I feel much happier.

It's been awhile since I've blogged! Well, you know, I've been so busy playing with my ball and tearing up the backyard ;)

I actually took up a new hobby...Browsing the internet and checking out different types of art. Yes, dogs like art too! Although I don't create art, I appreciate the people who do make beautiful paintings, sculpture, and even digital art too.

Well, actually I turned one back in August, but I'm still celebrating until this day! It's been awhile since I've posted and that's because I've been so busy playing as usual. Who wants to sit inside and blog all day when there's so much to do outside like dig up holes in the backyard and eat grass?

Anyways, winter is coming up so I'll be spending more time indoors. Expect to read more blog posts because I plan on being on the computer more!

Hey, Friends!

Although I have been potty-trained, I sometimes forget and still go pee in the house. If you have a puppy and want some tips on how to train them to go pee outside, read this article: How to House Break a Puppy.

What worked for me when I was younger was the praise that I got when I was "doing the deed". I was also taken outside about 30 minutes after every meal. I've also learned to make noise with the vertical blinds at the back door to alert someone that I need to go outside.

Hey Kids!

Well, it’s been awhile since I’ve given an update on my life. I had surgery on my neck a couple weeks ago because I had an infection. I think I got the infection because I like to chew on and eat everything! The infection made my neck swell up real big. It hurt really bad! All I did was hide under the bed and cry because my neck hurt so much.

I finally went to the animal hospital and the veterinarian had to cut my neck open to get rid of the infection. For the past couple weeks I’ve had to take medicine so my neck doesn’t hurt. I also have to wear this big plastic cone around my neck so I don’t scratch the stitches off my neck.

Even though all this happened - don’t worry - I’m ok now! Remember, kids, don't ever let an illness ever make you sad. Just stay positive and everything will be ok!

Hi Friends!

Tomorrow is Earth Day! I will be out celebrating and having a good time with the birds and the flowers. I won't have much time to post tomorrow, so I wanted to do a little sharing today.

Kennel Cough: What It Is and How to Treat It

Hi Friends,

Well, I haven't been getting much sleep lately because this virus called Kennel Cough has attacked me. My owners thought I either had food poisoning or some kind of allergy, but after doing a little bit of research on the internet we discovered that I caught Kennel Cough from being at the doctor.

Here's a video of a dog with kennel cough...

It's pretty similar to having a human cold. It takes anywhere from a few days to a week or two to recover. My owners gave me honey to soothe my throat when I started to cough and that worked really well. We got the idea from this website that tells you natural treatments for kennel cough. The side effect of having honey, though, is that it made me even more hyper than I am already!

Hey Kids!

I know, it's been awhile since I've been able to get to the computer to let you know what I've been up to. Besides playing with my ball and sleeping, the past couple of weeks I've been recovering from a little surgery. I can't do that much running so I've just been staring out the window at all the birds flying around in the back yard. I'm learning that sometimes you just need to take some time out and be grateful for the life that you have...
