Paid Vacation

I work for Interac. I must admit i have sweet deal. I took a remote location... even asked for it because i am a country boy that likes to avoid the big cities. I really have no complaints since I have many years of previous work experience in personnel and office management and HR. Most of the important things are typically handled but the staff in my main office. I try not to have big expectations nonetheless and that makes me happier. The one special thing that this job has given me is the open door to Asia. I get paid to live in Japan and I do travel around on the weekends ... mostly just for cost of fuel. The Onsen`s are inexpensive and there is too much to see in even one year. Festivals are often. National Holidays are numerous compared to US so even a `sports day` national holiday. Also, i don`t just get 1 month off .... with Golden week and other breaks it is more like 10 weeks off -- of course i am in a remote location so Interac can`t make me work on the breaks but they want me on call... they just don`t call due to the remoteness of my location. I never had more than two weeks paid vacation a year before in America and never had so many holiday days. So what do I do during that time? I travel cheaply to Thailand, Indonesia, and China! I can`t complain. Although i made more money in the US I still had less to spend. US taxes are incredibly high. Now, i have a great deal as i get free rent in a shack and teach at one school-- but it is all mine to enjoy by myself. Maybe i am being taken advantage of somehow or another but I can only count my blessings for now. And really there are so many.

Having personally witnessed execution on several occasions, I can say with certainty, there is not a single person I know, when it comes to it, who would actually perform the execution (you CJ, claiming that you would).

Screaming for blood is one thing, but actually spilling it, is another thing entirely.

Capital punishment is proven to provide no deterrent whatsoever – it serves no purpose, other than to perhaps give victims families, a fleeting sense of vengeance – in my opinion, it is a ghastly and primitive business, and puts deep fractures in the meaning of “civilized society”.

My feelings will always remain first and foremostly with the Hawkers, take note, and they have a very obvious and correct right to seek and be awarded justice, but your lynch mob words are as revolting and disgusting to me, as the crime itself was.

The guy knew his game was up once they published that new photo of him. I don't actually think he cared that much if he was caught, he was tired of running and he didn't seem to put up any resistance to the cops.

Who knows what's possessed him and led him to do what he did. I suppose there's a point where, from being a "sweet boy", he's had other underlying problems that have come out. He's obviously a loner with no friends, no job or direction, and gradually his mind's gone off in more and more twisted directions. So I can see where you're coming from with having sympathy for him and his parents.

Having said that, I hope he does get sent down for a long time though, he NEEDS to be locked up, it was a violent and premeditated murder. You can't have a person like that roaming the streets.

The GEOS management style has just never made any sense. For example, take the setting up of one of its North American schools. A teacher was sent over from Japan to start the school from the basics - getting a space secured, buying materials, etc. GEOS sent over its first students from Japan within a month. The teacher literally had no time to get host families signed up and she had to house two students in her own one bedroom apartment. On top of that GEOS headquarters immediately set up a monthly revenue goal equal to established schools. So just weeks of having the school opened, the manager was getting harassed and brought to tears over why she had failed to meet the month's goal.
Which daughter is involved in running GEOS now? Kusunoki had one daughter living in LA during the late 90's and she seemed nice. Kusunoki himself was a whole other story. He used to smoke during meetings without an ashtray in front of him and would have his secretary hold out her hand for him to tap his ashes into. I attended one of the pointless Big Jump sessions. One of the supposed highlights was to go on a cruise on Kusunoki's "yacht". It turned out to be basically just a large fishing boat with cheap plastic chairs on the back deck. One of the participants felt stomach rumblingss shortly after boarding and went to the toilet. The toilet backed up. The look on Kusunoki's face when he saw the crap overlowing was priceless.

I was thinking the same thing: Ichihashi may in some small way wanted to have been caught.

I'm against the death penalty, so hopefull just life in prison.
