Okay so my hair is like a dark brown. But my fringe (or bangs)are like black. I only straighten my hair once a week. So why is my fringe lighter. I can't dye it no matter what even with henna or black coffee beans my parent won't allow it even though I was born with black hair but it go lighter over time. It's my friend's wedding and I've just met her other bridesmaid (I know 3 of 5, not including me; 1 I met years ago and 1 I met for the first time). We had our first meeting and that one bridesmaid I did not meet was SUPER opinionated. She was nice but it seemed as if her opinions were mentioned, just so she could get her way. I don't want to be judgmental but from being with her for almost 8 hours, she seems to have security issues. She's a beautiful girl but she's not exactly "in shape", to say it nicely. When the bride wanted to alter the dresses differently, this girl opposed completely and made it clear she did not want to change it (even though the bride did). The bride also wanted us to have our hair done a certain way and this one (again) opposed and wanted to change it bc it didn't enhance how the shape of her face looked. i could see her point of view – not all hairstyles are created equal but, again, she made it known she did not want to do that. It's okay to disagree but the way she conducted herself…it was like it was what she wanted to do, more than the bride. As we continued to plan it, she took charge as "wedding planner" because of all the recent weddings she's been to. The bride's ideas were shot down and questioned and I found myself being uncomfortable, and just quiet. I'm usually very outspoken but with someone else's wedding, it's all about the bride.

I have this gut feeling that tells me this girl may be trouble and my body tells me to stay far as you can. She's nice and I had no trouble with her but just from my gut and observing she's the type of person that not only needs to be right but rub it in your face as well, to make herself feel better. To put it bluntly, she seems like the "fat girl with issues" (and I don't mean disrespect to those who are big. There are big/skinny girls that are rude and big/skinny girls that are sweet). It seems like she may have negative energy bc of her own insecurities that stem from her image, that's all. How do I keep things civil without her having to think I'm "weak" and she could pick on others?

If you have a gut feeling telling you that someone is bad, you should listen to yourself. I don't like to associate with people I have a feeling about, but if they talk to me I won't be rude. Just be cordial, you don't have to be buddies.

Even the biological notion of masculinity, i.e high testosterone, doesn't make any sense. Because you have a big jaw and muscles you're a man? Instead of having bones that are shaped like this, you have bones that are shaped like that and hence you're a masculine man. What difference do bones make? It doesn't make any sense.

I don't get it. Driving trucks and spitting on the floor makes you a man, wearing pink and having long fingernails make you a woman. WTF? They're just things you do, anybody can do them.

I seriously don't get it.

Those are stereotypes, some fit in them
but what makes someone masculine is having qualities of a "protector" and what makes someone feminine is having qualities of a "carer"

I've been married for the last 2 years, and I am the envy of all my friends because my husband is a professional hairdresser and I always have great hair.

My hair is currently layered and about shoulder length, and my hubby is planning on cutting it short this evening, something like:

However he's said he wants to cut the sides more around my ears and have the back very short.

I'm a bit apprehensive about going so short, however he always gives me amazing cuts and I felt the same a couple of years ago when he cut a load of my long hair off.

Should I be brave and let him do it, thing is if I say no I feel like I'm telling him I don't trust him when I do!

Interesting reactions to your question. No, you should not do it JUST because he wants to. On the other hand, this is what he does for a living, so you would normally take the advice from a professional into account when making your decision. The style he has in mind is absolutely gorgeous and my guess is he knows what he is talking about. If you don't want short hair, then tell him no. If you are just nervous about how you will look, then trust the pro who also happens to love you.

I have hair that goes blonde on top In summer from surfing and I would like to have beach blonde streaks that look completely natural, not like silver and **** I have light brown/dirty blonde hair that's been lightened a bit naturally already.

My solution- (must be done on a warm, sunny say) squeeze a lemon into a bowl, get some tissues and dip them in it then rub it along strips of your hair, make sure there is plenty on it! then go out into the sun for 10-15 minutes (the longer the better) and then come inside and wash your hair.

I used to have short hair and I would use wax to spike my hair and for years this worked fine for me and suited me but I always wanted to grow my hair longer. now I have grown my hair to a length i want as i know there's lots you can do with it. I had it cut into short back and sides blade 2 with it shorter round the crown and longer towards my fringe so my fringe is the longest part of my hair and it is about 3 inches long. I have straight fair hair that is quite thick but it will be quite wavy after showering which means it looks stupid if i try do anything with it. therefore i straighten it and use either wax or clay to style it. I have tried many different things with my hair where i would leave the fringe down and spike it up everywhere else, i have brushed it all to the side, used clay and wax to get my fringe up etc etc. i have tried everything and it always looks pretty naff and i always get stick for my hair looking stupid because it has a tendancy to fall down and be affected by the wind and rain ALL the time so it never looks the same as when i first styled it. any ideas on a good way to style my hair and a good way to keep it in shape without using products that will make my hair shiny and rock solid haha

Firstly, I have been there! My hair type is similar to yours and nowadays I've had it cut short again because the effort of trying to tame longer hair just became too irritating. Although you've spent time growing it out you may want to consider that your hair type is just not suited and as males we're lucky we can just have it short and avoid a lot of work (and money, hair products are not cheap!).

If you decide to keep your hair long then perhaps try treatments you use straight after washing your hair to avoid that waviness and heaviness forming in the first place. Many serums and mooses can can be applied to lightly towel dried hair before you blow-dry it. You will find many inexpensive brands and most will say that they improve the health of your hair whilst also ridding it of frizziness or waviness etc.
When you've styling your dry hair do not use too much wax, rather allow the wax to dry and then finish with hairspray to hold your look in place.

I do not recommend the above style. I have only had the style once and it felt so strange, I had the back and sides tapered to a normal length just after getting it cut.
A regular layer/taper cut, around three inches on top, back and sides tapered as close as desired can be designed to fully suit almost any guy who does not have ears that more fully suit when covered with hair. For a longer face, the sideburns can be left slightly longer than a style usually takes. This effectively shortens the face. For instance, a regular layer/taper cut generally takes medium sideburns. Medium sideburns extend to the top of the ear orifice.

If the guy wears long sideburns, it will shorten the face. Long sideburns extend to the middle of the ear opening.
