Valentine's Day is just around the corner so I thought I'd dedicate a post to some of my favourite VDay inspired items !

I adore the heart print on this J. Crew blouse. It's so pretty and I really like that the hearts are all different shapes and sizes.

This fuchsia croc-print Miu Miu clutch is perfect for Valentine's Day!

Miu Miu really does have great accessories! This sequin clutch is so much fun. It'll make any outfit spectacular.

Cole Haan Nike Air pumps are my favourite. I have the Violet Air Pump 90 in black and red patent and absolutely adore them. They look great and they're practical because they're so comfy. Of course the minute I saw the new pink print I fell in love instantly. These will look fantastic in the Spring and they're super comfortable!

I'm a big fan of NARS blushes and their newest 2012 colour Gaiety is the prettiest pink. I just ordered Gaiety from Sephora and can't wait to try it.

Smashbox's Soft Lights highlighting powder is a really great light pink that adds shimmer and soft colour to the face.

YSLs newest lip product Rouge Pur Couture is a lip stain and gloss in one. I haven't tried it yet but can't wait to get my hands on it. You know how obsessed I am with all YSL lipsticks/glosses, etc!

CURRENT OBSESSION - MISSION IMPOSSIBLE

I have a reputation for being able to find things. If something needs to be tracked down, is impossible to find or sold out, I can find it 9 times out of 10. My current obsession is with Celine's Large Audrey Sunglasses (as seen on Natasha Goldberg above). They're inspired by the sunglasses Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's and are the perfect glasses! They're only sold in a handful of stores around the world and aren't sold anywhere online. Plus they're sold out just about everywhere. I'm currently on the wait list at the Celine store in Bal Harbour (they expect a shipment of 5 to arrive next week) and have been trying to contact the personal shoppers at Printemps in Paris because I've heard they have a few pairs there but so far haven't had a response (Grrrr). I'm hoping that I'll have tracked down a pair by the end of next week but we'll have to see if I have Shopping Fate on my side. If I am able to track them down I'll post a photo on the site. Wish me luck!

I feel like I’m seeing this MiH Jeans jacket everywhere I look and I LOVE it! Do I say that too much? Jessica Alba wore this great MiH Jeans jacket the other week and it reminds me of this striped Nanette Lepore blazer that I’ve been lusting over for Spring but it’s a more casual, laid-back version! I really like the boxy fit of this jacket and the amazing pattern. Every time I see anything patterned that I like I always think of Jordana and this is definitely a Jordana jacket!

BEST DRESSED

Emilia Clarke wore the most amazing white and black Chanel and was definitely my pick for Best Dressed of the night. This isn't a dress that many people would wear but it is stunning! And I might be a little biased because I'm obsessed with Game of Thrones right now and you know how I feel about Chanel...

Michelle Williams looked great in a red Valentino. I love the lace detailing and asymmetrical hem.

Emma Stone looked really pretty in Alexander McQueen. Her dress was young, fun and totally appropriate given she wasn't nominated.

Emily Blunt wore a stunning Oscar de la Renta. I love the colour, love the one shoulder and love the draping of this dress.

Rose Byrne wore a really awesome Elie Saab jumpsuit. She's super cool!

Zoe Saldana's Givenchy Haute Couture dress was beautiful but to be honest I didn't know if I loved the look when I first saw pictures of it. It was definitely a look that grew on me. And it's pretty fun that she's wearing a wife beater!

Amber Heard wore a great cut out Zac Posen. If January Jones wore this I probably would have hated it but I really like it on Amber. She's stunning!

BETTER THAN EXPECTED

Stacy Kiebler wore a black lace Marchesa and I thought she looked really pretty. The dress fits her beautifully. This is the first time I've actually liked anything she's worn...

Natalie Portman wore a really beautiful Giambattista Valli gown. I find her really annoying but I did like this dress.

Julianna Margulies wore a Calvin Klein dress and all that I can really say is it was okay. I don't really like all the stuff though.

WORST DRESSED

Busy Phillips wore a hideous printed sun dress?!?! I couldn't be bothered to find out who designed it. I don't understand it and find it offensive...

Can you tell this girl is on TV? What is it with all the TV girls wanting to be princesses? I actually love the dress that Kaley Cuoco was wearing but it feels SO over-the-top for the SAG Awards.

Lea Michele looked so uncomfortable in this Versace dress. It's a great dress and I would have loved it on someone else but Lea always looks like she's trying SO HARD. It makes me uncomfortable.

Kristen Wiig wore a Balenciaga dress that would have been great on its own but combined with a black choker was horribly off the mark.

Sofia Vergara wore a fuschia Marchesa dress that I hated. I didn't like the colour on her and hated the detailing in the front. I usually love that Sofia always plays to her best assets but this dress is boring and doesn't do anything for me.

What was it with the Glee girls? I've only included images of Heather Morris and Lea Michele but the whole cast is on my worst dressed list. Heather Morris' weird black dress looks like it's cir qua 1980 from a Dominatrix wardrobe. Again, I couldn't be bothered to find out who made it because it's hideous.

Oh, Jolie! You really have the WORST style in Hollywood! Angelina wore a weird slinky black Jenny Packham dress that looks like something from The House of Elvira Collection. Except for when she was pregnant and walking the red carpet in Cannes I don't think I've ever liked anything that Angelina wears.

RECENT PURCHASES - MAKEUP

I've made a few recent makeup purchases lately and thought I'd share.

I picked up the Bobbi Brown Ultra Nude Eye Palette and eye shadow in Champagne Quartz. The flash makes these look a lot lighter than they really are.

Here's a closer view of the Bobbi Brown Nude Palette. I've been using this palette for a week now and I like it but I'm not sure if I LOVE it. To be honest they're not very pigmented and the Metallic Eye Shadow barely goes on at all. I've always been a fan of Bobbi Brown blushes but have never used the eye shadows before. I'm thinking the pigment issue and the texture of the metallic eyeshadow is probably just an issue in this palette...

This is my Tom Ford haul. I am so in LOVE with his makeup line! I ordered lip gloss in Sugar Pink and Naked, the blush in Frantic Pink and Wicked and the lipstick in Spanish Pink and Blush Nude.

So I really LOVE the Sugar Pink lip gloss! It's the perfect 'Barbie' pink gloss that looks great on its own and can be layered on top of lipsticks. I also really love the yummy vanilla smell of these glosses. I'm not a huge fan of Naked right now though. It looks like a really nice nude/pink with a bit of shimmer in the bottle but on my lips it looks too milky. I have to try it with a few other things to see if it grows on me. Next up I'd love to try Rose Crush.

I'm a real fan of these blushes. The colour is really pigmented and goes on easily. I haven't really worn Frantic Pink alone (I usually layer it on top of another blush) but Wicked is the perfect pink blush for me.

I've posted about my love of these lipsticks before. Blush Nude is the BEST nude lipstick around. I usually put a light pink gloss on top and it's perfect. Spanish Pink is a really nice everyday pink.

J. Crew has great statement jewellery. I've really been impressed over the last few years with the colourful, impact pieces they've come out with. I'm especially a fan of their necklaces. I've been using Oribe Royal Blowout for a few weeks now and I have to say I LOVE this product! I picked it up because I've heard really great things about it - its claim to fame is speeding up drying time and strengthening hair but I was definitely skeptical. My hair is fine and already dries pretty quickly but this really does seem to help my hair dry quicker. I've always stayed away from using product in my hair because I find it weighs my hair down but this leaves my hair looking smoother and healthier without actually weighing it down. I picked this up at Holt's but it's also available online at Neiman Marcus.

I found this adorable sleep mask by Mimi A La Mode at Holt's last week. The eyelashes remind me of the one that Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's. When I got home I looked up the Mimi A La Mode website and they have this mask in a million different colours (I want the blue!). So cute!

BEST DRESSED #1: Charlize Theron in Dior. Seriously - how can anyone even try to compete with this?!?! She's a goddess and was born to wear haute couture

BEST DRESSED #2: Salma Hayek in Gucci. Salma has never looked better! This black and gold gucci is so glam. She's stunning!

BEST DRESSED #3: Nicole Kidman in an absolutely AMAZING Versace dress. I don't think she's looked this good since she wore her famous Dior to the Oscars when she was still with Tom. This dress is magnificent!

HONOURABLE MENTION #1: Reese Witherspoon looked stunning in Red. I know this one might be controversial because Samantha has already told me she thought she looked like a bloated cheap mermaid. I loved the dress and think Reese has never looked better.

BEST BLACK: Julianne Moore in a black Chanel dress. I LOVE the green earrings and the black ruffled Chanel dress. STUNNING!

HONOURABLE MENTION #2: Helen Mirren is so lovely (I have no idea why I said she was Dame Judy last night)! It's unbelievable how beautiful she is in this Badgley Mischka.

OTHER WINNERS: Jessica Alba looked amazing in this Gucci dress. I'm so envious of her body - she had a baby like 6 months ago!

OTHER WINNERS: Emma Stone in Lanvin. It's different and fun and I really like it.

OTHER WINNERS: Sofia Vergara in peacock Vera Wang. She is stunning!

OTHER WINNERS: Nicole Richie in a silver Julien Macdonald. She looks like a total bombshell!

MOST UNEXPECTED: Jessica Biel in a long sleeve Elie Saab gown. It's really unexpected but I like it. 99% of the time I hate what Jessica wears so this is a rare win.

BEST SUPERMODEL: Elle Macpherson in a beige Zac Posen dress. Elle is so stunning she can do no wrong.

BEST DRESSED ALOOF: Rooney Mara in Nina Ricci. I love this dress. It's so beautiful but it's too bad that it's black. To be honest I find this girl really annoying and hate how she's trying to be 'in character' all the time but I can't deny how gorgeous the dress is.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Michelle Williams in Jason Wu. MEH! I don't dislike but I don't really like either. I'm indifferent and expected much better from her.

BETTER THAN USUAL BUT STILL SUCKS: Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace. I think this is a LOT better than what she normally wears on the red carpet but it's still BORING as hell and kind of sucks.

BEST ROCK STAR: Madonna in Reem Acra. I think she looks lovely. The dress is beautiful and her hair/makeup looks fantastic. The weird glove is ridiculous though.

MOST PREDICTABLE: Kate Beckinsale in a beige Roberto Cavalli dress that she's probably worn a dozen times on the red carpet.

JUST NOT DOING IT FOR ME: Claire Daines in J. Mendell. Jordana is crazy about this dress but it isn't doing it for me. I like the detailing on the back but it's just BLAH for me.

ALMOST THERE: Evan Rachel Wood in a green peacock dress. I think the gown is stunning but something isn't completely winning me over...

SHOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER: Mila Kunis in Dior. In theory she should have looked stunning in this gorgeous Dior dress but I have to say this dress really isn't doing anything for her. It's really, really BLAH.

WORST SUPER MODEL: Heidi Klum in Calvin Klein. This is such a boring choice for Heidi. I love the necklace but the dress is not flattering at all.

MOST DISAPPOINTING 'IT' GIRL: Zooey Deschanel in Prada. I really, really want to like this dress but it's not flattering on her.

STUPIDEST DRESS: Dianna Agron in a hideous red cut out Giles swan dress. Dianna is really pretty but her style is ASS. So ugly!

MOST CONTROVERSIAL: Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhuillier. I'm completely on the fence about this one. I really like that she took a risk and actually love the shape of the dress but I don't know if she really pulls it off... Saying that, I like it SO much better than a lot of the other boring dresses on the red carpet tonight.

MOST MEH: George Clooney's girlfriend in a boring red dress. Stacey has the worst style. So BORING!

MOST OVERDRESSED: Piper Perabo in a giant Oscar de la Renta dress. I actually love this dress but it does feel a bit try hard. I don't think she's even nominated.

EXPECTED SO MUCH MORE: Julianna Marguiles in Naeem Khan. She's so beautiful but I hate the colour of this dress and the cut. It's too matronly. I do really like the green earrings though.

BIGGEST BORE: Natalie Portman in a horrible fuschia/red gown with a giant side bussle. So ugly and BORING!

MOST UNDERDRESSED & INAPPROPRIATE: Katharine McPhee in Donna Karan. Is she really wearing this on the red carpet for the Golden Globes? She's so underdressed it's offensive.

UNSURE: Laura Dern in green sequin Andrew Gn. I love the green but hate the belt. Overall a C-

WORST GREEN: Colin Firth's wife is wearing a dress made from recycled water bottles?!?! I admire her dedication to being green but that doesn't stop the dress from being really ugly!

MOST UNFLATTERING: Kate Winslet in Jenny Packman. This is such a boring dress and really unflattering! I expect much, much better from Kate.

WORST DRESSED: Lea Michelle in Marchesa. Lesley thinks she looks like she's in Cirque du Soleil and I completely agree. This dress is painful to look at it's so hideous!

CURRENT OBSESSION - GOYARD

I've been thinking about getting a new tote for when I travel or need to carry around a lot of stuff for a long time. I've considered the Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM in Damier but haven't actually purchased it. When I went to Mexico recently it made me realize that I really need to bite the bullet and get an oversized tote for travelling. I've seen Goyard bags in a lot of magazines but to be honest haven't seen very many IRL. For some reason when we were in Mexico I saw a lot of them and I started obsessing!

Goyard was actually founded back in 1853 and has long been known for ultra-luxurious luggage. Each bag is hand sewn, lightweight, waterproof, and the pattern is hand painted. One of the biggest draws is how difficult it is to buy a Goyard bag. Goyard does not sell online and only has twelve stores worldwide so it's not easy to track down one of these beauties. I'm lusting after the bright colours - Orange, Yellow and Red are my personal favourites. Princess Beatrice, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman, Kourtney Kardashian, Hilary Duff and Lauren Conrad are just a few of the celebs who carry around a Goyard. What do you think? I had my purse stolen recently and among a lot of other things, I lost my Tiffany key ring that I've had for 8+ years. I loved my key ring despite the fact that the little ball fell off periodically and I'd have to search for my keys at the bottom of my purse (which was actually pretty crappy when I think about it now). Now that I need a new key chain I've been searching for something fun and unique and stumbled upon the Hermes Carmen key chain. How much fun is this giant tassel!?!? It comes in a bunch of different colours but I found it in classic Hermes Orange in Toronto - YAY!!!!!

Likely inspired by the fabulous Giambattista Valli outfit worn by Emma Stone last July, this purse has a punch of colour and a fresh structure that will update any work or weekend look. Plus, the interior is roomy and purposefully designed.

Turquoise Turns Heads

A fun carryall is essential for weekend getaways or better yet weeklong beach vacations. Turquoise always looks stylish and does even better in sunny locales. This tote is available in several different colours in stores and online (wish there was a photo of the turquoise!).

Rainbow Stripes Get Me Every Time

Bright colours and stripes get me every time. I think this dress would be appropriately worn with a great wedge or topped with a navy blazer. Either way, this dress screams fun! Now all I need to do is book a vacation so I can wear this strapless dress before July.

Spring, Summer or Fall Tuxedo Jacket

The season doesn’t really matter. Tuxedo jackets are a must-have in every closet. Paired with jeans or a little black dress, you feel pulled together and edgy in the perfect kind of way. As far as blazers go, 3.1 Philip Lim is a favourite brand of mine!

Yellow Skinny Jeans

The aptly named toothpick jean in yellow is absolutely yummy, if you’ve got toothpick legs. I’m not sure that I’ll be wearing coloured denim this Spring, but boy would I love to. Note from Lauren: I really love these in green/blue!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday. It's good to be back but I'm still struggling to get my house in order after the Christmas/vacation chaos.

I thought I'd post about Tom Ford's new line of cosmetics since I'm completely obsessed with his lipsticks already. In addition to his AMAZING lipsticks, there is now has a full line of lip glosses, eye shadow sets, blush, foundation, etc. I really want to try the gloss (Naked and Sugar Pink are the first shades I want to try) and his blushes (it won't be a surprise that I'm drawn to Frantic Pink and Wicked). I love how luxurious the packaging of his line is - who wouldn't want to pull one of these beauties out of their purse!

Right now the entire line isn't available in Canada (Holt's just carries the lipsticks) but I'm planning to order the gloss/blush from Neiman Marcus so I'll do a review to tell you what I think. I have a feeling I'm going to love the rest of the products as much as I love the lipstick!

WE CAN'T BE FRIENDS...PT 2

I know I talked about my love of bright colours/neon as I head to Mexico but these are just too much. I posted We Can't Be Friends a few months ago and these definitely top the list (thanks for flagging Amanda). I guess they're trying to combine the comfort/style of runners with the sexiness of heels but they're wrong in every possible way. These are serious WTF shoes. If you would consider wearing these for any possible reason please let me know so I can stage an intervention ;-)

I'm heading to Mexico on Monday so I'm already in a bright colour/neon state-of-mind. Here are some great candy coloured accessories I found when I was searching for some inspiration pre-vacation.

I've been lusting after a Nancy Gonzalvez crocodile clutch forever. I'm borderline obsessed with her beautiful clutches in bright neon hues. The yellow is especially speaking to me.

FUNNEL LOVE

I've been thinking about getting a new Winter jacket for a while. I got a great Marc by Marc Jacobs jacket a year or two ago and it's trendy and fun but I'd like to add something a bit dressier to my wardrobe (I'm going to be completely honest and say that I have more than just that one coat but my only dressier coat that I like is 8+ years old and the others are cute/trendy but I feel like I want something new). Anyways, I saw this Burberry coat and fell in love. It's a cashmere funnel neck that's really soft and comfortable but can easily be dressed up or down. I'm going to look around a bit more but this is definitely on the top of my list right now.

I was in NY last week with Jordana and after some drunk idiot woke us up at 2:30 a.m. by banging on our hotel room door, we watched an infomercial for a product called Pajama Jeans. My first response was 'Is this for real?' because to me this is hands down the stupidest product I have ever seen and probably one of the funniest infomercials. My second response was I NEED to blog about this. Because really, if it EVER occurs to you that something called a Pajama Jean sounds like a good idea than you need some serious help. This is worse than 'we can't be friends,' Pajama Jeans warrant an intervention. I really love the newest Chanel Illusion D'Ombre eyeshadow pots. They're touted as long wear luminous eyeshadow and they really live up to the name. They have a lot of shimmer and have a creamy gel-like texture that goes on very smoothly. I bought the dark purple/gray colour Illusoire about a month ago and just picked up Emerveille a beautiful neutral gold-peach colour. To be honest, I'll get a lot more wear out of the Illusiore colour but I really do love them both. They really last all day long and look fabulous.

I've complained on my blog before about the lack of good sales in Canada (compared to the US) and the costly shipping/duty when ordering online from US stores. I recently discovered that if you have an American Express card you get a free Premium membership for MyUS.com. I'll give full disclosure and say that I actually work for Amex but I've never written about my work before and I'm writing this post because I really think this service is genius!

MyUS.com makes it easy to shop from US sites that don't ship to Canada and avoid high shipping rates and taxes. When you sign up it gives you a US mailing address you can use whenever you shop at US retailers. Your packages will first be sent to the US address and are then sent to you from MyUS.com. You save a lot on shipping/duty and markups when online retailers change their prices for Canadian customers. I can already see this making a big difference for me as I'm an avid online shopper.

I haven't used it yet but will report back on the shipping rates (did I mention that I also get a 20% off discount with my Amex) once I've had an opportunity to test it out.
