The Mesa Arizona LDS Temple

Walking around the grounds, I was amazed at the silence and solitude in the broiling 110 degree heat of this Sunday in the middle of a metropolis. There is both the spirit of peacefulness that seems to embrace every one of these temples, but it was teamed with the spirit of the desert, and the feelings melded together very nicely.

I am hoping to be able to photograph a few more of the Mormon Temples as my family and I wend our way across the nation and back.

All of the area south of Temple Square in Salt Lake City is under construction with high rise retail, condos and offices. Salt Lake City is fourth in the nation in construction activity in the days of the great recession. The LDS Church is the developer and apparently the recession has not affected its plans although the sales prices for lower end condos have been reduced substantially. Best I can tell, no expense has been spared. Water features everywhere to frame the temple. Construction to be completed in 2012.
