Now that Spring Break is over, it’s all systems go toward summer! That means it’s time to get Vacation Bible School on your calendar! June 17th – 21st will be a spectacular week of ministry and every person in our church body can be involved.

This year’s theme is Colossal Coaster World which will challenge kids to face their fears and trust God as they zip along the roller coaster of life. Through every twist, turn, and dive kids will learn that God has not given them a spirit of fearfulness, but a spirit of power, love, and sound judgment. At the end of the week, kids will want to do it all over again! We know that He can do it for all 250+ children that walk through our doors that week. We also know that He uses us, the church, to teach them. Please consider how you might play a part.

The magnitude of VBS requires over 150 adult and youth volunteers. Every single position helps to point kids toward Jesus. We have many positions that need to be filled in order for this week to run smoothly. Here are some of the ways you can serve:

• Grade School Teacher or Assistant
• Preschool Teacher or Assistant
• Recreation Worker
• Crafts Worker
• Registration Worker
• Nursery Worker (nursery is only for children of parents working at VBS)
• Snack / Kitchen Worker
• Preparation of Materials (before the week of VBS: cutting, measuring, sorting, etc supplies)

For the next several weeks we will walk and pray for the country of Turkey, our personnel on the field there and for LaGrange Baptist Church.  To join up all you have to do is grab a friend or family member and start walking!  Our goal is to collectively walk 5565 miles. The miles count whether you prayer walk or just walk.

You can log your miles and find prayer emphasis each week by either logging onto the LaGrange Baptist website or by filling out a “foot” located at the entrance to the sanctuary. Keep an eye on the bulletin for mileage updates.  Join the fun and let’s get walking!
