Nerdy, reserved bookworm Anita "Needy" Lesnicki (Amanda Seyfried) and arrogant, conceited flag girl Jennifer Check (Megan Fox) have been best friends "since the sandbox", although they share little in common. One night, Jennifer drags Needy to a local dive bar to attend a concert by indie rock band Low Shoulder, with eyes on its blithely evil lead singer, Nikolai Wolf (Adam Brody). While flirting with Wolf, Jennifer insinuates that she is a virgin. A disastrous fire destroys the bar, and Jennifer ends up leaving the bar with the band, who take her into the woods, where she learns that the band is worshiping Satan, and that Wolf intends to use her as a virgin sacrifice in order to gain fame. However, as Jennifer was not a virgin, the demon spirit takes over her body. Later that evening, Jennifer appears at Needy's house, covered in blood, looking vacant, and vomits a trail of "black ferromagnetic fluid".[4] The following morning, Jennifer appears fine, and the small town is devastated by the destruction of the local bar. A month after the incident Jennifer is beginning to look pale and tired. That day, Colin (Kyle Gallner) asks her on a date and that night she kills him brutally while Needy and her boyfriend Chip have sex. Needy senses this and leaves Chip's house in a panic. While driving she almost runs over Jennifer covered in someone else's blood. Needy rushes home and goes to bed. There she finds Jennifer who explains what happened that night after she left the bar with the band. She even goes to show Needy what happens when she is "full" and stabs herself and the cut heals almost immediately. Needy then kicks her out of the house and Jennifer jumps out of the second story window and vanishes. The next day at school the news of a death of yet another classmate stuns the school. Needy goes to the library into the occult section to do research and finds that Jennifer is weakest when she is hungry and must eat flesh in order to sustain her life and appearance. Needy surmises that Jennifer is eating the bodies of boys to survive.

Needy decides she must stop Jennifer as she fears her boyfriend, Chip (Johnny Simmons), may be the next one she goes after. All the while the band that performed at the bar have become local heroes as they claim to have helped people out of the fire when they were no help at all. They rocket to fame and their single "Through the Trees" is the town's new anthem and the theme of the school's spring formal. Needy tells Chip not to attend the dance and breaks up with him because she fears for him but he goes against her and decides to go to the dance anyway. As he is walking to the dance Jennifer sneaks up on him, claiming she has always had feelings for him and that Needy was cheating on him with Colin. While he is upset she makes a move and they begin to kiss. Needy senses them kissing and runs out of the dance to find him. When she approaches the spot in the park where they were kissing she hears Chip yell coming from the abandoned pool on top pf a hill. As she forces her way inside she finds Jennifer feeding on Chip's neck. Then, Needy jumps in the pool and attempts to drown Jennifer but Jennifer begins hovering above the water as Needy helps Chip, who is bleeding from the neck, out of the pool. Jennifer and Needy begin to fight and as soon as Jennifer tries to attack her Chip stabs Jennifer with a pool skimmer. Jennifer bleeds a little but then escapes. Needy cradles Chip as he dies, both proclaiming their love for one another. Later, Needy attacks Jennifer in her own home, yelling, "You killed my boyfriend!" As they fight, Needy pulls out a boxcutter and cuts Jennifer twice across her stomach, which doesn't affect her. Needy rips off Jennifer's BFF necklace, which stuns Jennifer who begins to fall down to her bed. Needy comes down with the boxcutter stabbing Jennifer in the heart, and sets Jennifer free. After Jennifer dies, her mother comes and finds Needy on top of Jennifer's bloody body.

Needy is committed to an asylum for the criminally insane. Since she was bitten by Jennifer who was a demon and survived she obtained some of Jennifer's supernatural traits. With these powers, Needy escapes the facility and tracks down Low Shoulder, brutally killing them for turning Jennifer into a demon and causing all the ensuing death and destruction.

The film is set in an alternate history of the Second World War in which the entire top leadership of Nazi Germany, namely Hitler, Goering, Goebbels and Bormann attend a film premiere in Paris celebrating the exploits of a German sniper who had managed to kill 300 American soldiers in Italy. The time frame of the film is set in early June 1944, after the D-Day landings but before the liberation of Paris.

The film tracks the separate attempts to kill Hitler by two disparate forces, one being the "Basterds", a motley crew of Jewish American soldiers out for revenge against the Nazis. The Basterds have a modus operandi whereby each man must cut off the scalp of a dead Nazi soldier, with orders to get 100 scalps each. The Basterds allow one German soldier to survive each incident so as to spread the news of the terror of their attacks. However, the Basterds carve a swastika into the forehead of that German. The other force concerns Shosanna, (MÃ©lanie Laurent), the only Jewish survivor of an attack led by the "Jew Hunter" that had killed all her family. The Basterds and Shosanna remain unaware of each other throughout the film.

The film opens in 1941 with Colonel Hans Landa, (Christoph Waltz), of the Waffen-SS, proudly known as the "Jew Hunter", interrogating Perrier LaPadite, (Denis Menochet), a French dairy farmer, over rumours that he had been hiding a Jewish family, the Dreyfus. Landa manages to break down LaPadite and locates the hiding place of the Jews underneath the floorboards. He orders his soldiers to fire into the floorboards in order to kill the Jews.

Shosanna manages to survive the attack and by 1944 emerges to assume the identity of "Emmanuelle Mimieux". She had also become the proprietress of a cinema, which is chosen by Frederick Zoller (Daniel BrÃ¼hl), a spotlight-hungry sniper-turned-actor whose exploits are celebrated in the Nazi propaganda film, Stolz der Nation (A Nation's Pride), as the setting for the film premiere. Since he feels attracted to Shosanna, he manages to convince Goebbels to hold the premiere in her cinema. Shosanna, however, does not reciprocate his feelings.

Shosanna realises that the presence of so many high ranking Nazi officials and officers provides an excellent opportunity for revenge. She resolves to burn down her cinema using the massive quantities of flammable nitrate film in her storage rooms during the premiere and makes a fourth reel in which she tells the Nazis present of her Jewish identity and revenge.

In the meantime, the British have also learned of the Nazi leadership's plan to attend the premiere and dispatch a British officer, Lt. Archie Hicox (Michael Fassbender), to Paris to lead an attack on the cinema with the aid of the "Basterds" and a German double agent, an actress by the name of Bridget von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger).

Hammersmark arranges to meet Hicox and the Basterds in the basement of a French tavern. Unbeknown to her, however, the night of the rendezvous is also the occasion of a German staff sergeant celebrating the birth of his son with his soldier comrades. One of the German soldiers present strikes up a conversation with Hicox and notices that his accent is "odd". An SS officer who is in the tavern as well also notices that odd accent. When Hicox gives the wrong three fingered order for whiskies (without using his thumb, a traditional German gesture), the SS officer realizes their deception. A firefight breaks out in which the British officer and two of the "Basterds" are killed as is everyone in the tavern except Hammersmark, who is wounded in her left leg.

Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt), the commanding officer of the Basterds, interrogates Hammersmark and decides to continue the operation against the cinema under the guise of Italians as suicide bombers. Colonel Landa, now an SD officer, is able to retrieve one of Hammersmark's shoes from the scene of the firefight at the tavern and also an autographed napkin which Hammersmark had signed for the staff sergeant's son. He approaches Hammersmark and Raine in the cinema lobby and is able to easily see through their disguises, as none, even Raine, can speak any Italian or German. He questions Hammersmark alone and makes her try on the shoe he had retrieved from the tavern. He violently strangles her to death as a traitor, and orders the arrest of Raine.

In the closing stages of the film, Landa reveals himself to be a turncoat. He attempts to reach a deal with Raine's commanding officer via a two way radio in which he proposes to allow the assassination attempt against Hitler and the rest of the Nazi leadership to continue in return for safety, privileges, money, medals and a house for himself. He also reveals that he had planted Raine's stick of dynamite in Hitler's box at the cinema meaning that there are now three attempts against Hitler's life.

Zoller, uncomfortable with the way he is portrayed killing Americans in Stolz der Nation, leaves the cinema auditorium and makes his way to the projectionist's room where Shosanna is planning her attack. Shosanna's assistant and lover, Marcel (Jacky Ido), is waiting behind the cinema screen ready to set alight nitrate film reels, which are highly combustible. Shosanna is unable to get rid of Zoller, who angrily confronts Shosanna about her behavior, and shoots him in the back, mortally wounding him. Afterwards, in an apparent moment of pity, realizing that Zoller is alive, she rolls him over and he in turn shoots her dead.

When the fourth reel of the film starts with Shosanna's speech to the Nazis assembled in the auditorium that she is a Jew and the audience is about to burn, Marcel sets the nitrate film alight thus causing a pandemonium in the auditorium. Meanwhile, Donny (Eli Roth) and Omar (Omar Doom), who had been seated amongst the Nazis in the auditorium, ambush Hitler's box and are able to gun down Hitler, Goebbels and the other Nazi leaders. As the cinema is engulfed in flames, Raine's men fire randomly into the crowd, who are attempting to flee. Escape is impossible, as Marcel had earlier locked and barred the auditorium doors. Additionally, the dynamite that Landa had planted in Hitler's box, as well as the dynamite strapped to the Basterds' legs, now goes off. The cinema is destroyed in the subsequent inferno, killing all inside.

Landa sets off with Raine towards the American lines in Normandy where he intends to turn himself in, as part of the deal he had made with Raine's commanding officer. He surrenders to Raine and hands over his gun. Raine orders Landa to be handcuffed and shoots dead Landa's driver. The film ends with Raine carving a swastika into Landa's forehead and declaring that it may just be his greatest "masterpiece".

Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) discovers something about the origins of the Transformers and their history on Earth after receiving visions from a remaining piece of the Allspark. The evil Decepticons need to capture him for information. The climactic battle takes place at the Giza pyramid complex, where a temple is located within. Lorenzo di Bonaventura explained the film will start before the pyramids were built, tying the Transformers to the beginning of civilization, and implying that "all our heroes end up here because of the Decepticons' master plan." Furthermore, Egyptian hieroglyphs resembling helicopters and other present day vehicles in real life will be explained in the film as being depictions of those Ancient Cybertronians who visited Earth.

Bay explained the battle at Mission City did not expose the Transformers to the public. "Everybody has gone ahead. It's realistic. Two weeks after the tsunami nobody talked about it anymore. It's very weird. We decided to do the same with the Transformers. The government talks about a military thing, says all is false, that it's a joke, and people don't know what they really saw." Orci cited the Phoenix Lights incident as an inspiration for how the Transformers manage to stay covert after the previous film, and added it was an interesting idea for how would the government "hide Optimus Prime". The human soldiers have joined the Autobots' ranks in a team called NEST (Networked Elements: Supporters and Transformers in the tie-in novel or Nonbiological Extraterrestrial Species Team on official film tie-in web sites). A government front called McClaren Robotics covers up the robot sightings, and they have an Allspark shard kept in storage in NEST headquarters, in Diego Garcia.

The film revolves around an special FBI organization of trained secret agent animals, equipped with advanced tools including an advanced earpiece that allows the mammalian members to talk to humans. In addition to a team of cockroaches, the primary field team consists of guinea pigs Darwin (Sam Rockwell) (team leader), Juarez (Penelope Cruz) (martial arts), Blaster (Tracy Morgan) (weapons/transportation), star-nosed mole Speckles (Nicolas Cage) (cyber intelligence), and fly Mooch (reconnaissance) (Dee Bradley Baker). Hoping to impress his superiors on the eve of a budgetary review, the unit's leader, Ben (Zach Galifinakis), orders an unauthorized infiltration of the residence of home electronics and appliances magnate, Leonard Saber, who has been under FBI investigation for years. The team is able to successfully retrieve considerable sensitive information about a sinister scheme that is set to occur in 29 hours. However, when Ben's superior arrives for his evaluation, his astonishment at the team's capabilities and technology is overcome by his indignation at Ben's unauthorized mission and the fact that the downloaded intelligence appears to be useless information about Saber's coffee makers. As a result, the government agent orders the unit shut down, the equipment seized and the animals to be used as experimental subjects to be killed as security risks. With the help of their human compatriots, Darwin, Juarez, Blaster, Mooch, and Speckles escape with hopes of stopping Saber's scheme, but find themselves in a pet carrying case bound for a pet shop.

Now trapped in the store's pet rodent display case, G-Force meets Hurley (Jon Favreau), a gluttonous guinea pig, Bucky (Steve Buscemi) an irascible hamster and three sycophantic mice. Although Blaster and Juarez manage to get themselves sold to a family with plans to return to extract their comrades, Speckles' own attempt to escape by playing dead ends disastrously when he is thrown into and apparently crushed in a garbage truck. Meanwhile, Mooch manages to return to Ben to tell him where his mammalian agents are, but Darwin escapes (with Hurley, who is convinced that Darwin is his brother, tagging along) before he can arrive to collect them.

While Blaster and Juarez escape their new owners to return to Ben, he and his partner discover that the discredited intel has a destructive computer function that apparently hid the scheme. At this time, Darwin and Hurley make their own way to their superior. On route, Darwin sees a Saber coffeemaker and decides to investigate it, but his examination of the machine makes it come alive as a dangerous fighting robot that he and Hurley are barely able to defeat. Now with his suspicions vindicated, Darwin and Hurley transport the wreckage to Ben. However, upon arrival, Ben has lost all confidence in his team and confesses the shattering information that they are not special genetically enhanced animals as previously told, but ordinary ones Ben took in and trained for the team. However, Hurley lifts them from their despair by reminding the team of the astounding feats he has seen them do and the fact that they obviously made themselves extraordinary on their own.

Emboldened but with little time to stop the scheme, Ben provides the field team with the means to infiltrate the Saber residence and plant a virus in the computer mainframe. Unfortunately, FBI agents are ordered to capture the animals dead or alive, forcing the team to elude them with an extended pursuit thanks to a high speed vehicle especially designed for them. After that is accomplished and the team infiltrates Saber's mainframe, the plan is put into motion, and the resulting battle separates the group, only leaving Darwin to take the mainframe down. At the same time, Leonard Saber is shocked to discover that his appliances have become killing machines, expecting them to simply be able to effectively communicate with each other, while FBI takes advantage of this obvious pretext to finally openly move against the industrialist. When Darwin reaches the mainframe, he finds out that Speckles, whose home and family had been destroyed by humans, is the mastermind of the plan, whose masterstroke is to cause a massive planetwide bombardment of space junk pulled from orbit to make the planet surface uninhabitable. Speckles promptly amalgamates the various appliances in the vicinity into a giant walking being, which, combined with a localized bombardment of orbital debris, soon overpowers the police forces gathered at the mansion. Darwin manages to persuade Speckles that his new family is with the rest of the team and Ben, who had taken them all in. Speckles consents, and tries to shut it down, but realizes that it has gone too far. However, Darwin uses the computer virus on his PDA to take it down.

At the end of the film, the guinea pigs are personally commended by the FBI Director who also appoints them special agents of the FBI. Furthermore, G-Force is reinstated as a unit of the Bureau and expanded with Hurley, Bucky and the mice inducted as new recruits. Meanwhile, Saber makes the largest product recall in history, and Speckles is given the punitive duty of personally removing the malicious chips from all Saber products, which number in the tens of thousands.

The movie begins with Micah testing out and playing with his camera. He wishes to film the strange and paranormal things that have been happening in the house. They discuss at length about what it could be and they mention that they called a psychic in to help assess what is happening. The psychic arrives that day and learns from Katie that she has been haunted by a ghostly entity since her youth. The psychic informs the couple that they are being plagued, not by a ghost, but by a demon. He says that no matter where they go the demon will follow as it is haunting Katie herself. The psychic explains that the demon feeds off negative energy, so the couple must do their best not to antagonize it or give it more power by fighting with each other. Micah suggests getting a Ouija board, which the psychic immediately dismisses, saying that communicating with the demon will invite it in.

Micah decides to continue his project by setting up a camera in their bedroom, and every night it captures what happens as they sleep. On the first night, a few footsteps are heard. After this, increasingly strange things occur. The bedroom door moves by itself and the lights turn on in the hallway on their own. Each night, when the incidents occur, a low droning noise is heard on the camera.

One morning, Micah goes around the house with his camera and a microphone and openly asks the demon if he should get a Ouija board. When he plays back the audio on his computer, a low inhuman growl is heard after he asks the question. Katie protests his intentions of getting a board and Micah reluctantly promises not to buy one. Against Katie's wishes, Micah borrows a Ouija board to speak with the demon. He sets it up in the living room but Katie yells at him and they argue and go out for a couple hours before Micah can begin talking with the demon. While they're gone, a strange "wind" blows through the living room and the board begins to spell words on its own and catches on fire. A strange image is burned into the board when Micah and Katie return.

The film starts with high school valedictorian Denis Cooverman (Paul Rust) stating to the entire gymnasium that he's had a crush on cheerleader Beth Cooper (Hayden Panettiere) for six years. During the speech, he singles out the class bully and a pretty but shallow party girl, takes a verbal swipe at Beth's boyfriend Kevin and tells his movie-quoting best friend Rich (Jack Carpenter) to admit that he's gay. Denis' speech upsets everyone except Beth, who thinks it was "sweet," giving Denis the courage to invite her to a party at his house that night. Beth’s boyfriend, military trained Kevin (Shawn Roberts), is angry at Denis for calling him an "over-aged loser who keeps company with high school girls because he can't get a date with a girl his own age."

After his declaration, Denis' mother (Cynthia Stevenson) and father (Alan Ruck, from Ferris Bueller's Day Off) leave him and Rich alone at the house for their party, which no one attends, as they are social outcasts. Beth shows up in her tiny blue car with her friends Cammy (Lauren London) and Treece (Lauren Storm) at Denis' house that evening. Kevin shows up with his army buddies and Denis and Rich are assaulted. Beth and the Treece help Denis and Rich get away.

Beth is meant to be a dream girl, but has one glaring imperfection that shatters Denis' fantasy. A turning point in the film comes right after the group gets away from Denis’ house. Denis and Beth go into a liquor store to buy beer, but the clerk (Samm Levine) refuses to sell the beer. Beth offers to "kiss you so good, you'll mess your underwear when you think about it later." The kiss is not shown, but Denis is disillusioned by her actions: "She's not Beth Cooper." In the novel, it's slightly different; she offers to touch the clerk's penis.

Eventually, the group heads back to the high school where Beth, Cammy, and Treece show off their cheerleading act. Denis notices that Beth has a tear in her eye. After the act, the girls head to the showers and Denis follows. Denis passively walks into the girls' locker room and sees the girls changing. Knowing that Denis is looking, Beth smiles at him, drops her towel and shows off her bare back. Beth tries to get Denis and Rich in the showers with them when Kevin arrives. Rich stays back to fight off Kevin and his crew while the others escape. After escaping, Beth reveals to Denis that she only came to his party because it would be "funny", leaving Denis disappointed. Denis gets a nose bleed and Treece, as a joke, gives him tampons to stop the bleeding. The next shot shows Denis with two tampons up his nose. Next, Beth tells Denis his shirt smells and forces him to take it off. Beth takes his shirt and holds it out the window to "air it off"; then the shirt flies out the window. They stop the car and Denis, in his underwear, goes to find his shirt. They all start laughing so Beth then gives him her poncho to wear. They both go out looking for the shirt. They find the shirt in a pile of mud where they encounter a raccoon. The raccoon tries to eat the shirt so they try to grab it when the raccoon yells and scares them both and they run back to the car.

After a tussle with a construction worker over Carl's broken mailbox, the court orders Carl to move into Shady Oaks Retirement Home. Carl comes up with a scheme to keep his promise to Ellie, and uses his old professional supplies to create a makeshift airship using 10,000 helium balloons which lift his house off its foundations. Russell, a Wilderness Explorer trying to earn his "Assisting the Elderly" badge, has stowed away on the porch after being sent on a literal snipe hunt by Carl the day before.

Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader) is a young inventor who has trouble seeing eye to eye with his technophobic father Tim Lockwood (James Caan), because he invents many things that end up faulty, unwanted, and/or chaotic (including the "Spray-On Shoes" - which imprisoned his feet into rock-solid shoes forever). His mother (Lauren Graham) always believed he would become great someday until she passed away before Flint graduated school. Flint continues to invent (with the "Remote-Control Television", the "Hair Un-Balder", the "Flying Car", and "RatBirds") even at the time he should be getting a real job at his father's sardine shop.

Because his hometown, Swallow Falls, rests on an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the only food everyone can afford are sardines. Hoping to solve this problem, Flint invents a machine that converts water into food. However, the machine initially fails due to the low amount of electricity. The next day during a rally for the opening of a theme park named Sardine Land by Mayor Shelbourne (Bruce Campbell) and the sardine mascot Brent (a celebrity who has represented the town's sardine products ever since he was a baby, Andy Samberg), Flint sneaks out of his father's shop and uses the electricity from the nearby power station to work the machine. Meanwhile, a cute weather intern from New York City, Sam Sparks (Anna Faris), has her big break when she is sent to Swallow Falls to report the events. However, her time is cut short when Flint's machine flies around, destroys a segment of the theme park and flies up in the sky. Blamed by everyone in town, Flint flees to the docks where he meets an emotionally-wracked Sam and instantly falls in love due to her intelligence. Sam then realizes it was Flint that ruined her big break, but is interrupted by a large set of purple clouds that covers the town and rains cheeseburgers solving the problem that has been plaguing the town.

Flint invents a communication device that allows people to order what they want to eat, like ice cream for Officer Earl's (Mr. T) son Cal's (Bobb'e J. Thompson) birthday and a huge amount of food for the Mayor to gorge on. The city's name is changed to ChewAndSwallow, and the mayor tries to generate tourism by inviting cruise ships to the island to eat. Getting to know Sam, Flint brings her on a date to a giant Jell-O mold in the fields. Flint then discovers that Sam was once a nerdy weather forecaster who changed her appearance and outward behavior due to ridicule. Flint, however, states his preference for her previous persona, allowing Sam to feel better about walking into public with glasses and her hair tied with a Jell-O scrunchie given by Flint. Before they can share their first kiss, the Mayor calls Flint to cut the ribbon for the grand re-opening of the town, which was scheduled for the next day. Later that evening, Flint is confronted by his father, who is unable to admit that he is proud of Flint for what he has done, and worries that the food may not be so good for the people, which causes an argument between the two. Flint then discovers that the food is getting bigger before the day that many tourists arrive at ChewAndSwallow for a grand re-opening. Flint decides to turn the machine off, but the Mayor (now morbidly obese) persuades Flint not to turn it off, thinking "The Bigger, the Better", and letting him know that if he turns the machine off, nobody will love him. The Mayor whispers into Flint's ear "It's your choice" and he agrees and leaves.

When the tourists arrive and right before the grand re-opening, Sam relizes that the town and the world is in great danger and tries to warn Flint, but he rudely refuses to turn off the machine. Suddenly, after the ribbon is cut, a spaghetti twister strikes the town, and Flint runs to the lab to turn off the machine, but arrives finding the Mayor ordering a large Las Vegas style buffet, which overloads the machine. The Mayor then destroys the communication device by accident. The food storm roars around the world, threatening to destroy the Earth with giant raining food. Flint grabs a USB flash drive that holds a code that will stop the machine and rebuilds a past invention into a small aircraft. As Flint apologizes to the town (and Sam) and says that he can turn off the machine, Mayor Shelbourne jerkishly interrupts saying "It's all Flint's fault, get him!" and the crowd turns into a angry mob and tries to attack Flint in his Flying Car. However, Officer Earl stands up for Flint saying that it's their fault more for being so greedy and they forgive him for the situation and let him continue to end the maniac invention. Flint, along his his pet monkey Steve, Sam, her cameraman Manny (Benjamin Bratt), and the sardine mascot Brent, give chase after the machine, which has transformed into a giant meatball. Flint loses the flash drive and calls his father to send the deletion code to his cell phone. Meanwhile, the citizens build sandwich rafts and flee into the ocean now that the city is being flooded by leftover food. The Mayor jumps greedily on the first one, and floats away alone. Flint makes it to the core without Sam (who has nut allergies and gets her arm stabbed by a peanut brittle) and Brent in the meatball and jams the cell phone into the machine. However, his father sent him the "wrong" document (a 3-hour music video "Fight the Power" by a kitten and ducklings, which Flint showed Sam earlier in the movie) and the machine fights back. Flint then pulls out the Spray-On Shoes that imprisoned his feet into rock-solid shoes during his youth and blocks the machine from producing food. Flint falls out of the meatball to his apparent death, followed by the destruction of the machine, while Sam, Brent, Steve, and Manny escape. As the citizens mourn the supposedly dead Flint, he emerges from the sunlight carried by his earlier RatBird creations and the town cheers for Flint as their hero. His father finally admits, through Steve's thought transmitter, that he is proud of his son, and Flint and Sam finally kiss.

Afterwords, during the end credits, traditional-animation shows everyone lives their new life in a food paradise and renaming the town "ChewAndSwallow 2". At the end of the mild end credits, a clip is shown of Mayor Shelbourne clutching the sinking remains of his sandwich raft in the middle of the ocean after eating it.

Kate (Vera Farmiga) and John Coleman (Peter Sarsgaard) are experiencing strains in their marriage after Kate's third child was stillborn. The loss is particularly hard on Kate, who is still recovering from a drinking habit that cost her her job. They adopt Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman), a 9-year-old Russian girl they had met, from the local orphanage. While Kate and John's daughter Max (Aryana Engineer) embraces Esther almost immediately, their son Daniel (Jimmy Bennett) is somewhat less welcoming.

Kate grows suspicious when Esther, who watched Kate and John have sex, expresses far more knowledge of sex and its slang than would be expected for a child her age. Not long after Esther arrives, she pushes a schoolmate down a playground slide, who had picked on her, breaking her ankle. Max saw Esther shove the girl, but covers for Esther by saying that the girl "slipped". However, she is further alarmed when Sister Abigail (CCH Pounder), the head of the orphanage, warns her and John about Esther's tendency to be around when things go wrong. Esther overhears this and later kills Sister Abigail with a hammer to the head. She convinces Max (puts a gun to her head) to help her hide the body and the hammer. Daniel sees Esther and Max descending from his treehouse from behind a rock, not knowing they hid the hammer there. Later that night, Esther threatens to cut off Daniel's "hairless little prick before knows what its used for" if he tells anyone what he saw.

Kate is told by the orphanage that they cannot find any record of the Russian orphanage Esther came from. However, John does not believe her, despite continued ominous behavior by Esther. That night, Esther picks flowers for Kate that are from Kate's special plant and Kate pushes her to the ground. Later, Esther breaks her own arm in John's vise and convinces John that Kate broke it in the scuffle from earlier that day over the rosebush. On Esther's first day back at school, she slips Kate's SUV into neutral, nearly killing Max. Badly shaken, Kate buys two bottles of wine, but at the last minute pours one of them down the drain and leaves the other full.

Kate learns that Esther was housed at a mental institution in Estonia called the Saarne Institute, but when she expresses misgivings to John, he and her counselor think that Kate is relapsing into her drinking habit. After John produces the other bottle Kate bought the night before, he threatens to leave her unless she gets help.

Daniel learns of the hammer from Max and decides to get it and go to the police. However, Esther sets the treehouse on fire, intending to get rid of the evidence and kill Daniel. Daniel escapes by falling out of the tree, and gets a severe neck injury. Esther tries to finish him off by smashing a brick over his head, but Max shoves her out of the way just in time. Esther again tries to kill him at the hospital by smothering him with a pillow. As doctors rush to save Daniel, Kate angrily knocks Esther down for doing that and is sedated by doctors.

That night, Esther tries to seduce a drunk and sad John. John realizes Kate was telling the truth all along and threatens to call the orphanage. Esther, angry at being spurned, ransacks her room and later stabs John to death. Max witnesses this and hides in her laundry hamper.

As Kate is coming out of sedation, she gets a call from the Saarne Institute's director, Dr. VÃ¤rava (Karel Roden), who reveals that Esther isn't a 9-year-old girl at all, but a 33-year-old woman named Leena Klammer. She has hypopituitarism, a disorder that stunted her physical growth, and has spent most of her life posing as a little girl. The doctor tells Kate that Esther is dangerously psychotic, and Kate should rush home to her family. Kate rushes home, where Esther shoots her in the arm before searching for Max.

Their chase takes them outside to a frozen pond, where Kate and Esther struggle before falling through broken ice from the knife Esther tried to stab Kate with. Kate crawls out of the hole, followed by Esther, who begs for her life, addressing Kate as "Mommy". Kate angrily responds that she is not her mother and kicks Esther in the face, breaking her neck and sending her back into the pond to drown.

The film opens in 1933 as John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) is brought to a penitentiary by his partner John "Red" Hamilton, under the disguise of a prisoner drop. They are actually there to break out the rest of their gang. Dillinger and Hamilton overpower several guards and free their partners. After a gangmember gets violent, a gun is used to kill a guard alerting the rest of the prison. A shootout ensues as the gang makes a run for the getaway car. This results in Dillinger's mentor Walter Dietrich being killed. After beating and disposing of the gangmember who caused the shootout, Dillinger and the gang take refuge in a country house before leaving for Chicago to rob banks.

Elsewhere, Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) and several other FBI agents are running down Pretty Boy Floyd. Purvis kills Floyd, and as a result, Purvis is upgraded by (J. Edgar Hoover), who is protecting the FBI from scrutiny by politicians, to lead the hunt for John Dillinger.

While Dillinger and his gang reap the benefits of their robberies, Alvin Karpis offers Dillinger a role in a kidnapping plot. He declines however, stating that the public doesn't like kidnappings. At the party he meets Billie Frechette, whom he takes to dinner. At the restaurant they are in, they both are looked upon by others; John with fear because they know who he is, Billie with disdain because of her Native American heritage. Billie leaves him at the restaurant however when John begins talking to associates of Frank Nitti, Al Capone's right hand man and confidant. He finds her later, and states plainly that she's his girl now and that he will do anything for her: he also stands up for her by beating a drunk verbally abusing her. With this act, and impressed by his respect and straight-forwardness with her, Billie leaves with him.

Melvin Purvis gets a lead on where Dillinger is staying and sets up an ambush at the motel he believes he is in. While checking out "Dillinger's" room, Purvis finds what looks to be an ordinary husband and wife. Though their identification checks out, Purvis seems to recognize the husband and has an agent watch the door after he leaves. But when the agent sees someone approach the door he is ambushed and killed by the "husband". After the man escapes, due to the rest of the agents' incompetence, Purvis realizes the killer wasn't Dillinger but Baby Face Nelson. After this incident, Purvis demands that Hoover bring in professional lawmen who know how to catch criminals dead or alive. Though Hoover had hoped for more pristine agents, he agrees.

While he and Billie are enjoying the luxuries across the States, the police finally find Dillinger and arrest him and his gang in Tuscon. In prison, Melvin Purvis comes to meet Dillinger. Dillinger goes on to tell Purvis how killing is different up close and personal as opposed to the way he killed Pretty Boy Floyd. Purvis tells Dillinger that he will more than likely be executed, and won't be a problem much longer. He is soon taken back to Indiana where he is imprisoned awaiting trial. The prosecutor wants to house Dillinger in the state prison; Dillinger's lawyer convinces the Judge to keep him in the county jail. Before trial, Dillinger and a few inmates escape using a fake gun. Dillinger is unable to see Billie as she is under tight surveillance by Purvis' men. Soon he finds that Frank Nitti's Chicago Outfit associates are now unwilling to help him; Dillinger's crimes are motivating the US government to begin prosecuting interstate crime, which imperils Nitti's (and others') lucrative business as bookmaking.

They are unable to access the ship's bridge, and cannot communicate with any other members of the crew, including the flight team they are to relieve.[4] While exploring the spacecraft under Payton's radio guidance, Bower encounters several other surviving crew members, and the astronauts start to learn that a terrible event has occurred on board which might have affected the survival of the entire human species.[5]

As Bower ventures deeper into the ship, he discovers other humans running from monsters that are former crew members endowed with genetic enhancements meant to help them adapt to their eventual new world, but which instead caused them to mutate to the spacecraft environment. They also learn that some crew members also suffer from a psychosis - a severe psychological condition called Pandorum - which can be brought about by being in deep-space for extended periods of time, and is triggered to an uncontrollable level by intense emotional trauma. Those afflicted with Pandorum experience severe paranoia, vivid hallucinations - and eventually homicidal rage.

Their mission is revealed to be one of desperation. Earth, suffering from massive overpopulation, dispatched the sleeper ship and its crew on a 120-year voyage to a new, Earth-like planet to create a settlement. To add even more weight to their mission, one of the survivors whom Payton discovers, Gallo, reveals to him that he was part of the flight crew that receives a message from Earth, stating that the planet had been destroyed and the people on board the ship are the last humans. At that moment, Gallo had snapped and succumbed to Pandorum, killing the other crew members with him. Since then, he has been playing God, exiling awakened crew members and passengers to the storage hold, which is where they began to mutate and adapt to the ship's environment. By now, most of the 60,000 person crew is either dead or mutated.

An anonymous flasher exposes himself to shoppers in the Forest Ridge Mall parking lot. The head of mall security, Ronnie Barnhardt, makes it his mission to apprehend the offender. He is assisted by the Yuen twins, Charles and Dennis in his efforts. At home, Ronnie has a loving but dysfunctional relationship with his alcoholic mother.

Ronnie's dream girl, Brandi who works a mall make-up counter, is flashed the next day, becoming distraught over the situation. Ronnie tries to comfort her until a police officer, Detective Harrison, arrives and takes over Ronnie's palliative role. Ronnie feels threatened by this and is upset that his boss allowed an outside person to infringe on his search for the offender.

The criminal activity at the mall continues, as a masked person is seen robbing a shoe store, causing property damage. Detective Harrison is once again called in to investigate, his efforts hindered by Ronnie's unusual attempts to resolve the matter. In response, Harrison curses out Ronnie during a meeting with Ronnie's superior. In defiance of the detectiveâ€™s angry rant, Ronnie decides to take the steps necessary to become a real police officer.

Ronnie obtains preliminary documents needed to become a police officer from a recruiting station, including forms for a physical and a psychological profile check, as well as entertaining the idea of a ride-along with a policeman on patrol. Ronnie decides to ride along with Detective Harrison. Harrison, fed up with Ronnie, tricks him into walking into the most dangerous part of town, and drives off. Ronnie then confronts and subsequently subdues several drug dealers, victoriously returning to the police station with a dealer's son and thanking the detective for the opportunity to prove himself.

Emboldened, Ronnie arranges a date with Brandi, seeking advice from Nell, a friendly food court worker, who recommends that he just be himself, which Ronnie declares as bad advice. That night, Brandi arrives home very late, forgetting the date. Undeterred, Ronnie still takes her out. She consumes a large quantity of alcohol as well as several tablets of clonazepam which she took from Ronnie. Ronnie takes her home and has sex with her, despite the fact that she has vomited on the pillow and nearly passed out.

Ronnie's optimism is deflated after learning he will never be able to become a police officer, due to his failure of the psychological examination, where he told the examiner disturbing stories about his fantasies about law enforcement. The audience also learns that the pills Ronnie gave Brandi were his medication for his bipolar disorder, and he no longer has them now. Depressed, he is coerced by Dennis to spend the day doing a wide variety of drugs and assaulting skateboarding teenagers. At the end of the day, Ronnie finds out that Dennis was the shoe thief, and that he has been stealing from the mall for quite some time. Ronnie is stunned and, after a brief argument, is knocked unconscious from behind by Dennis, who then flees to Mexico.

After being chewed out by his boss for not realizing that Dennis was the thief, Ronnie decides to go â€œundercoverâ€� in order to catch the flasher. Before he is undercover, Nell explains to him that her boss Roger and another female employee make fun of Nell for having her leg in a cast, leading Ronnie to threaten the two after giving Roger a severe beating. At night he sees Harrison having sex with Brandi in his cruiser, which compels him to confront her in front of onlookers at the mall the next day, breaking the glass of a display case, getting him into trouble with the law. Refusing to leave the mall, police are called in to remove Ronnie and arrest him. Not going quietly, Ronnie fights off many officers, before eventually being beaten in a one-on-one fist fight with Harrison.

After a brief time in jail, and a few days of recovery, Ronnie returns to the mall, although now no longer as a security guard. He is approached by Nell back on both legs, and she kisses him to console him. Interrupting their romantic moment, the pervert flashes Nell and Ronnie and runs off, exposing himself to many other mall patrons. Ronnie, pursuing the flasher in a slow-motion sequence, retrieves a gun from a closet and shoots the flasher (although non-fatally) as he approaches Brandi. She thanks him, but Ronnie yells at her and humiliates her for having sex with Harrison.

Refusing the flasher an ambulance, Ronnie takes him to the police station, impressing and insulting the officers who had previously ridiculed him. A victorious Ronnie is then interviewed with the other security guards and he is accompanied by Nell, who is now his new girlfriend, and he returns back to his job as the head of mall security.

Simone (Tanedra Howard) and Eddie (Marty Moreau), two predatory lenders, are placed in head harnesses with screws poised to drill into their skulls. The person who cuts off more flesh weight in 60 seconds will live, while the other will be killed by the screws. The overweight Eddie slices fat from his stomach, but Simone chops off her arm to tip the scale in her favor and save herself.

Dan Erickson (Mark Rolston) heads up the FBIâ€™s investigation into Eddieâ€™s death, with Peter Strahm's fingerprints being found at the scene. He informs Lieutenant Mark Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) of this, also revealing that Lindsey Perez (Athena Karkanis), previously thought dead after being injured by shrapnel from Jigsaw's puppet, is alive and still on the case. Hoffman secretly meets with Jill Tuck (Betsy Russell), who hands him five envelopes from the box from John's will, and he takes control of a game the two have been planning. Hoffman also questions Simone in her hospital room; however, having lost her arm, she is too hysterical to understand what she's to have learned.

The game focuses on William Easton (Peter Outerbridge), an executive at a health insurance company. His company decides whom to cover based strictly on probabilities of health or illness; he turned down one of Johnâ€™s claims for this very reason. William is captured, taken to an abandoned zoo, and suspended in a large vise clamped around his torso, with a breathing mask over his face. Hank (Gerry Mendicino), his janitor and a smoker, is in the same situation. William has 60 minutes to pass four tests in order to remove the bombs strapped to his limbs before they detonate. In the first test, whenever either man takes a breath, his vise will tighten; William holds his breath longer than Hank, whose ribcage is soon crushed. For the second test, William must grab the ends of two chains connected to platforms on which Addy and Allen, his old secretary and young file clerk, are standing with barbed wire nooses around their necks, and ultimately choose to save one and let the other die. The two are opposites: Addy is in poor health but is surrounded by family, while Allen is healthy but has nobody. He chooses to save Addy, reluctantly allowing Allen to strangle to death when his platform retracts.

In the end of their fight, David pulls Michael off the roof of their house and both are left unconscious. After being in a coma for a month Michael finds out from his girlfriend and his mom that David escaped when the police showed up. The scene switches to The Stepfather working in a different area with a different name and he ends up meeting another woman with children.
