The first thing to remember about a student loan is that it is not an expense, but rather an investment in yourself. Your college education can lead to a more rewarding job and greater earning capability throughout your career. Don't let the burden of student loans impact your credit - look at consolidating your student loans to make paying back your loans easier.

Consolidation Loans combine several student or parent loans into one bigger loan from a single lender, which is then used to pay off the balances on the other loans. It is very similar to refinancing a mortgage. Consolidation loans are available for most federal loans, including FFELP (Stafford, PLUS and SLS), FISL, Perkins, Health Professional Student Loans, NSL, HEAL, Guaranteed Student Loans and Direct loans. Some lenders offer private consolidation loans for private education loans as well.

Most FFELP lenders are no longer offering consolidation loans because these loans are no longer profitable. Students can still consolidate their loans with the US Department of Education's Federal Direct Loan Consolidation program at loanconsolidation.ed.gov even if their college does not participate in the Direct Loan Program.

Interest Rates

The interest rate on a consolidation loan is the weighted average of the interest rates on the loans being consolidated, rounded up to the nearest 1/8 of a percent and capped at 8.25%.

For example, suppose a student has just unsubsidized Stafford Loans originated on or after July 1, 2006. These loans have a fixed interest rate of 6.8%. When they are consolidated by themselves, the consolidation loan will have an interest rate of 6 and 7/8ths of a percent, or 6.875%. So the interest rate increases only slightly.

If the borrower has a mix of loans with different interest rates, the weighted average will be somewhere in between. For example, if the borrower has $5,000 of Perkins Loans (at 5.0%) and $10,000 of unsubsidized Stafford Loans (at 6.8%), the weighted average is


    $5,000 * 5.0% + $10,000 * 6.8%
    ------------------------------ = 6.2%
	   $5,000 + $10,000

This weighted average, 6.2%, is then rounded up to the nearest 1/8th of a percent, yielding a consolidation loan interest rate of 6.25%.

Note that the weighted average does not fundamentally alter the underlying cost of the loan. It preserves the cost structure by including each interest rate to the extent that it applies to part of the overall loan balance. For example, the consolidation loan in the previous paragraph says that of the $15,000 consolidation loan balance, $5,000 will be at 5.0% and $10,000 at 6.8%, yielding an equivalent interest rate of 6.2%.

If you are consolidating loans with different interest rates, the weighted average interest rate will always be in between. Don't be fooled if someone tries to suggest that this will save you money by getting you a lower interest rate. The interest rate may be lower than the highest of your interest rates, but it is also higher than the lowest of your interest rates. More importantly, the amount of interest you pay over the lifetime of the loan will be about the same.

(For the mathematically inclined, there is a slight difference due to the different shapes of amortization curves at each interest rate. In the example given above on a 10 year term, $10,000 at 6.8% has a monthly payment of $115.08 and total interest paid of $3,809.66, $5,000 at 5.0% has a monthly payment of $53.03 and total interest paid of $1,364.03. If you add these, you obtain a total monthly payment of $168.11 and a total interest paid of $5,173.69. Using the weighted average, $15,000 at 6.2% has a monthly payment of $168.04 and a total interest paid of $5,165.01. So using a weighted average yields a very small reduction in the monthly payment (in this case, 7 cents) and in the total interest paid ($8.68) due to a kind of triangle law. Of course, when you consolidate the interest rate is rounded up to the nearest 1/8th of a point, so $15,000 at 6.25% has monthly payments of $168.42 and total interest of $5,210.42, yielding a slight increase. So you pay a tiny bit of a premium for consolidation, due to the rounding up of the interest rate.

The PLUS loan interest rate loophole can reduce the interest rate on 8.5% fixed rate PLUS loans by 0.25% through consolidation.

If you were deferring the interest on an unsubsidized Stafford Loan by capitalizing it, most lenders will add the capitalized interest to principal when you consolidate. (Lenders can capitalize interest at most quarterly, but most capitalize it once when the loans enter repayment or at other loan status changes.)

No Cost to Consolidate

Aside from a slight increase in the interest rate on the consolidation loan, there is no cost to consolidate your loans. There are no fees to consolidate.

Under no circumstances pay a fee in advance to get a federal education loan or consolidate your federal education loans. There are no fees to consolidate your loans. While other federal education loans, such as the Stafford and PLUS loans, may charge some fees, the fees are always deducted from the disbursement check. There is never an up front fee. If someone wants you to pay an up front fee, chances are that it is an example of an advance fee loan scam.

Who Can Consolidate

Both student and parent borrowers can consolidate their education loans. (Students and parents cannot combine their loans through consolidation, since only loans from the same borrower can be consolidated. But they can consolidate their loans separately.)

Married students are no longer able to consolidate their loans together. This provision was repealed effective July 1, 2006. When married students consolidated their loans together, each spouse became responsible for the full amount of the loan, and the loans could not be separated if the couple got divorced. To avoid such problems in the future, Congress decided to repeal this provision as part of the Higher Education Reconciliation Act of 2005.

Students can only consolidate their education loans during the grace period or after the loans enter repayment. (Loans that are in default but with satisfactory repayment arrangements may also be consolidated.) Students can no longer consolidate while they are still in school. (Theearly repayment status loophole and the ability of Direct Loan borrowers to consolidate during the in-school period was repealed as part of the Higher Education Reconciliation Act of 2005, effective July 1, 2006.)

Parents, however, can consolidate PLUS loans at any time.

You Can Consolidate with Any Lender

Students and parents can consolidate their loans with any lender, even if all of their loans are with a single lender. (The single holder rule was repealed on June 15, 2006, as part of the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2006. Borrowers no longer need to exploit thesingle holder rule loopholes in order to consolidate with any lender.) Direct Loans can also be consolidated with any lender. This allows you to shop around for a lender that offers a lower rate or better discounts.

Most lenders require a minimum balance before they will consolidate your loans. For example, many lenders will only offer consolidation loans for borrowers with loan balances of at least $7,500. A few lenders will offer consolidation loans for balances of $5,000 or more, and the Federal Direct Consolidation Loan program has no minimum balance for consolidation loans. (Lenders may not discriminate against borrowers who seek consolidation loans on the basis of number/type of student loans, type/category of educational institution, the interest rate on the loans, or the type of repayment schedule sought by the borrower. Lenders are, however, able to discriminate on the basis of the amount of the loans being consolidated, so lenders can set a minimum balance on the loans.)

Which Loans Can be Consolidated?

Any federal education loan can be consolidated. You can even consolidate a single loan. There are, however, a few restrictions on consolidating a consolidation loan.

You can consolidate a consolidation loan only once. In order to reconsolidate an existing consolidation loan, you must add loans that were not previously consolidated to the consolidation loan. You can also consolidate two consolidation loans together. But you cannot consolidate a single consolidation loan by itself. These restrictions have been in effect since early 2006.

Note that when you reconsolidate a consolidation loan, it does not relock the rates on the consolidation loan. The consolidation loan is treated as a fixed rate loan within the weighted average interest rate formula used to calculate the interest rate on the new consolidation loan. Consolidation does not pierce the veil on previous consolidations.

The new restrictions on consolidating a consolidation loan limit your ability to use consolidation to switch lenders. Generally, you will consolidate your loans once, toward the end of the grace period or after the loans enter repayment, and then be locked into that lender for the lifetime of the loan. If you want to preserve your ability to use consolidation in the future to switch lenders, you should exclude one of your loans from the consolidation.

Repayment Plans

Consolidation loans provide access to several alternate repayment plansbesides standard ten-year repayment. These include extended repayment, graduated repayment, income contingent repayment (Direct Loans only) and income sensitive repayment (FFEL only). If you do not specify the repayment terms, you will receive standard ten-year repayment.

Consolidation loans often reduce the size of the monthly payment by extending the term of the loan beyond the 10-year repayment plan that is standard with federal loans. Depending on the loan amount, the term of the loan can be extended from 12 to 30 years. The reduced monthly payment may make the loan easier to repay for some borrowers. However, by extending the term of a loan the total amount of interest paid over the lifetime of the loan is increased.

In certain circumstances (for example, when one or more of the loans was being repaid in less than 10 years because of minimum payment requirements), a consolidation loan may decrease the monthly payment without extending the overall loan term beyond 10 years. In effect, the shorter-term loan is being extended to 10 years. The total amount of interest paid will increase unless you continue to make the same monthly payment as before, in which case the total amount of interest paid will decrease.

You do not need to pick an alternate repayment plan. We recommend sticking with standard ten-year repayment, because it will save you money. The alternate repayment plans may have lower monthly payments, but this increases the term of the loan and the total interest paid over the lifetime of the loan. See our caveat about extended repayment below.

Repayment on a consolidation loan will begin within 60 days of disbursement of the loan, unless the borrower qualifies for an deferment or forbearance.

Federal education loans, including consolidation loans, do not have aprepayment penalty. So you can pay off all or part of your federal education loans without incurring a penalty. If you want to take advantage of this, be sure to include a letter with the extra payment indicating that it should be applied to reducing your principal. Otherwise, the lender may treat it as an advance payment of the next month's monthly payment.

Tools for Evaluating Consolidation Options

It compares the reduction in the monthly loan payment with the increase in the total interest paid over the lifetime of the loan. It also shows you the interest rate on your consolidation loan.

Despite the switch to fixed interest rates on Stafford and PLUS loans eliminating a key financial incentive to consolidate, there are still severalreasons to consolidate your education loans. These include having a single monthly payment, access to alternate repayment plans, the PLUS loan interest rate loophole, and the ability to reset the 3-year clock on deferments and forbearances. But consolidation can cut short the grace period, although the grace period loophole can work around this problem. It is best to avoid consolidating Perkins loans, because you lose several valuable benefits. Beware of extending the term of your loan, as this can increase the total interest paid over the lifetime of the loan; you can stick with standard ten-year repayment.

Before consolidating, always evaluate the benefits provided by the current holder of your loans. The loan discounts offered by originating lenders tend to be superior to those offered by consolidating lenders, since consolidation loans have tighter margins. Also, if you received a fee waiver or rebate from the originating lender, you may have to repay that discount if you consolidate with another lender. It may be possible to get some of the benefits of alternate repayment plans without consolidating, such as extended/graduated repayment with a loan term of up to 25 years and a single monthly payment, if you have more than $30,000 in federal education loan debt accumulated since October 7, 1998 with the lender. (This is due to a little known provision of the Higher Education Act, in section 428(b)(9)(A)(iv), and the regulations at 34 CFR 682.209(a)(6)(ix).)

You can change the repayment schedule on your loan once per year. So consider starting off with standard ten-year repayment on your consolidation loan. You are not required to start off with extended repayment. If you find it difficult to afford the payments, you can always switch to extended repayment later.

What Is DIN Number

The unique Document identification number (DIN), on the lines of numbers like PAN and TAN, will be quoted on “every” income tax-related communication, including returns to be filed next year for the financial year 2010-11.According to the new guidelines brought out by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the DIN will be mandatory “in respect of every notice, order, letter or any correspondence” with the department, by the taxpayers.

PAN, TAN and now DIN, another Identification Number from the IT Department ! The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) have issued new guidelines requiring procurement of a new number – Document identification number (DIN), which is to be used for making any communication with the Income Tax Department.

Section 282B of the Income Tax Act specifies that any document sent to the tax authority without bearing DIN will be treated as ‘invalid and shall be deemed never to have been received.’ Similarly any correspondence received from the I-T department not bearing DIN can be treated as invalid.Hence DIN will have to be quoted on every return, refund claim, notice, order and every other correspondence with the I-T department.

Tax payers need not apply for DIN, as it will be mechanically generated and allotted by the department itself . The objective of introducing this number is to streamline the communication process with the I-T Department and to enable error free filing of returns and processing refunds.Allotting a DIN to taxpayers will be obligatory for the I-T department beginning with tax returns being filled for the financial year 2010-11.

Here is section 282B which became effective from 01/07/2010

282B. (1) Every income-tax authority shall , on or after the 1st day of July, 2011, allot a computer generated Document Identification Number in respect of every notice, order, letter or any correspondence issued by him to any other income-tax authority or assessee or any other person and such number shall be quoted thereon.

(2) Where the notice, order, letter or any correspondence, issued by any income-tax authority, does not bear a Document Identification Number referred to in sub-section (1), such notice, order, letter or any correspondence shall be treated as invalid and shall be deemed never to have been issued.

(3) Every document, letter or any correspondence, received , on or after the 1st day of July, 2011, by an income-tax authority or on behalf of such authority, shall be accepted only after allotting and quoting of a computer generated Document Identification Number.

(4) Where the document, letter or any correspondence received by any income-tax authority or on behalf of such authority does not bear the Document Identification Number referred to in sub-section (3), such document, letter or any correspondence shall be treated as invalid and shall be deemed never to have been received

So benefits to all?? Yes

The system of correspondence , issue of notice , service of demand , hearing notice from the depart shall be come more transparent and time bound.

The assessee also be getting a proof of time and date when they actyally submitted the documents. This will prevent any kind of misuse of law.

There will be record of documents which will help in administration of tax laws.

DDA Housing Scheme 2010- Full Update

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) claims to have learnt lessons from the housing scam 2008. To make sure that the allotment of flats does not get rigged this time, DDA has made some changes in the process of allotting flats under its housing scheme 2010 which will be launched on 25th of this month.

There is notification by the Delhi Development Authority. The application forms will be made available for almost 15,574 flats constructed by the DDA. The sale of these flats would begin from November 25, 2010. The locations have not been disclosed as yet by the DDA.

It is better to hurry because the registration will be open just for one month lest you would miss out the opportunity to get hold of the DDA flat. The last date of registration is December 24.

The allotment of the DDA flats will be done within four months after the registration process is over for which the authority would be conducting draws.

For registration, interested people can purchase forms directly from the head office of the Delhi Development Authority which is located at Vikas Sadan. People can also get the forms from the various branches of Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, Central Bank of India, SBI (State Bank of India) and Union Bank of India.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has been released online its New DDA housing scheme 2010 Application Form, which will be available from 25th November 2010. New Delhi Development Authority (DDA) were introducing 16,000 flats to the customers by its new DDA housing scheme 2010 as the online application form registration is starting from Nov. 25. Closing date of DDA housing scheme 2010 is December 24, 2010.

In this 16,000 DDA flats which includes one BHK, Two BHK and Three BHK are of having different categories and classes of flats in different areas of the national capital.

One room Janta flats are also available. The successful candidate will get the flats in various colonies such as Dwarka Area, Rohini Area, Vasant Kunj, Nagar, Motia Khan, Mukherjee Nagar Area and other residential locations.

The registration fee for the flats under New DDA housing scheme 2010 is Rs. 1.5 Lakhs. Registration fee for Janta flats is Rs. 50,000. The cost of the construction ranges between Rs. 1500 to 6000.
In a bid to avoid fake allotment, this time the registration money will be paid through the bank account so no black money can be invested. A PAN card and Bank account is necessary for applying.

The Opening Ceremony of the 2010 Commonwealth Games will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Delhi on Sunday.

The ceremony, which will run for two hours, will begin at 1900 IST.

Following are the various means to get to the Nehru stadium for the opening ceremony depending on the most convenient mode of transportation from the place where you stay.

By Metro:

You may avail the Delhi Metro services from any part of Delhi/NCR to reach the under mentioned stations:

- Jawaharlal Nehru Metro Station to Venue North Gate (Number 14) -- 200 metres

- Jungpura Metro Station to Venue East Gate (Number- 9) -- 250 metres

- Jorbagh Metro Station for Meherchand Market drop-off point by shuttle service and from there 1.2 km to Venue South Gate (Number 6).

Does Blackberry Playbook Exists?

Am truly shocked that so many people are being duped by BlackBerry's recent announcement of their tablet, the PlayBook. I have read endless comments from people who are saying they can't wait to get this tablet computer. Well, I think I have some bad news for you folks.
There is no evidence that the PlayBook exist as advertised.

Why do I say this? I will make it brief.

1) There is not a single frame in the BlackBerry PlayBook commercial that shows the actual device! The only thing being seen in the commercial is CG special effects. Don't believe me? Watch the ad again. Sure, those special effects are amazingly fast and responsive and cool but where is the device?

Remember the ads for the BlackBerry Torch? They were entirely done with special effects too. The Torch seemed so fast and cool in those ads. The only problem is the actual real phone didn't operate nearly as good as it did in the CG ads. The BlackBerry Torch ads are awesome but the phone is crap. Take note.

2) The PlayBook was never demoed at the Live Announcement. The dude is supposedly holding the device in his hands and he doesn't touch the screen once. Let me repeat that. He never touches the device once! The screen never changes and it never gets dark. I cant help but wonder if he's just holding a dummy (plastic) device.

Compare this to Apples iPad announcement. There was a frigin camera over Steve Jobs shoulder while he operates the actual device. If this PlayBook is so cool, why not actually show it off?
3) No one in the public has even been able to touch the PlayBook. Once again, compare this to the iPad announcement. Every one who attended the iPad announcment was actually able to handle and touch the device. They had tons of them on tables for every one to test out. What did the attendees of the PlayBook announcement get? A device encased in glass playing videos. The new OS isnt shown once, just a repeating video ad. Why not let everybody test out that amazing screen and new os? Judging by the video, that glass encased PlayBook with the wire attached could just be a dumb lcd screen. Is there a single shred of evidence to say otherwise?

4) Just look at BlackBerry's last venture in touch screen gadgets, the Storm and Torch. Need I say more. Given the above considerations, whats more likely? That a company went from the Storm and Torch phones to the PlayBook in this short period of time as or that things are not as BlackBerry is making them to appear?
I will admit, I could be wrong. I would be happy to be proved wrong, I just don't think that that's going to happen.

On 1st October 2010, a Tamil movie Endhiran will be released at theaters. Ayodhya verdict: Disputed land to be divided into 3 parts

An Indian court on Thursday ruled by majority that the disputed land in Ayodhya be divided into three parts to be distributed among three communities.
The Allahabad High Court has divided the ownership of the disputed site into three parts: Ram Lalla idol site to Ram, Nirmohi Akhara gets Sita Rasoi and Ram Chabutara, Sunni Wakf Board gets the rest.

“Justice D V Sharma decreed the title suit in favor of Hindus,” said lawyer K N Bhatt, who represented the party on behalf of ´Ram Lalla´.
Status quo will be maintained at the disputed site in Ayodhya for three months, claimed lawyers Ravi Shanker Prasad and K N Bhatt.
Justice S U Khan ruled that the disputed land belongs to both the communities, said lawyers.
India had been awaiting its Ayodhya moment since the last 18 years now, after the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992 that placed the country on a communal volcano which has periodically erupted from time to time.

Senior BJP leader and lawyer representing the Hindu groups claimed that majority of the three-member bench of the Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow bench has upheld that Lord Ram was born in the disputed site which would be divided in three parts-of which one with the idol of Lord Ram would go to the Hindus and one to the Muslims and a third to Nirmohi Akhara.

But the status quo of the site would be maintained till it was divided.

Prasad said the suit of the Sunni Waqf Board was rejected.

The court said the idol of Ram existed on the site before

“I appeal to the Muslims to accept the verdict,” Prasad said.

After a 60-year-wait and loss of over 2000 lives in the worst communal riots of independent India in 1992 following the demolition of the Babri mosque, the Allahabad High Court on Thursday delivered a verdict on the Ayodhya title suit.

India - Dedicated Country For Tiger Conservation

India has been identified as the most important country for tigers with 18 source sites dedicated solely to their conservation, according to a recent study.
In a worrying discovery, the Wildlife Conservation Society and other groups have found that most of the world's last remaining tigers - long decimated by overhunting, logging, and wildlife trade - are now clustered in just six per cent of their available habitat.
In their study, the researchers have identified 42 'source sites' scattered across Asia that are now the last hope and greatest priority for the conservation and recovery of the world's largest cat.
The securing of the tiger's remaining source sites is the most effective and efficient way of not only preventing extinction but seeding a recovery of the wild tiger, say the study's authors.
The researchers also assert that effective conservation efforts focused on these sites are both possible and economically feasible, requiring an additional 35 million dollar a year for increased monitoring and enforcement to enable tiger numbers to double in these last strongholds.
"While the scale of the challenge is enormous, the complexity of effective implementation is. In the past, overly ambitious and complicated conservation efforts have failed to do the basics: prevent the hunting of tigers and their prey. With 70 per cent of the world's wild tigers in just six per cent of their current range, efforts need to focus on securing these sites as the number one priority for the species not," said Joe Walston, Director of the Wildlife Conservation Society's Asia Program and lead author of the study.
According to the paper, fewer than 3,500 tigers remain in the wild, of which only about 1,000 are breeding females.
Walston and his co-authors identified 42 tiger source sites, which were defined as sites that contain breeding populations of tigers and have the potential to seed the recovery of tigers across wider landscapes.
India was identified as the most important country for the species with 18 source sites.

Why I Wanted To Be An Internet Marketer

Here are a few of the reasons I wanted to be an Internet Marketer, perhaps you can relate. The freedom that comes with running your own online business is something to be experienced by all at least once in your life. It’s never too late!

1. Set my own hours – There is something to be said for waking up when you want, grabbing a long shower, making a healthy breakfast for you and yours, perhaps a trip to the gym (with a quick stop off at Tim Horton’s) before you start your day? The important thing to remember is to stick to the schedule to have set for yourself, with freedom comes responsibility, if you wish to be successful, you WILL have to put in the time to grow your online business.
2. Scheduling and Goals – I use a “To Do” list daily to help me stay on track, it lets me keep my priorities straight, and I can see at a glance how my day is progressing.
I also use a whiteboard which I now refer to as my “Goal Board” where I list out the bigger goals that I wish to accomplish for the month. As I accomplish them, I simply run a line through them. I typically write out about 20 goals per month, and accomplish between 15 or more.

3. Set my own wage – Instead of letting someone else determine what your worth, you have the freedom to set your own wage, by how much work you’re willing to invest in your online business. If I want to earn more next year, perhaps I’ll invest some time learning something new this year to help make myself more marketable. There are tons of quality sites out there offering free information, and even more offering some great tips and how to courses for very affordable prices. I tend to try and pick up these courses from blogs or sites that I’ve found useful, it’s a nice way to support these individuals, and say thank you at the same time.

Be a Professional Student – For myself, and many others there is a constant need to know how things work, what makes them tick… One of the things I love most about Internet Marketing is the fact that I’m always learning, and studying new ways to promote my business, new ways to make money online, new ways to get my message across. In my years online I’ve learnt so much from so many, and will always be grateful to those that came before me, and helped pave the way through trial and error and were good enough to share.

I’m International – My business is available to everyone around the globe, I’m truly an International business, and I’m available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Where else can you own and operate such a business? My market is huge, and grows each and every day. There truly is not limit other than myself, my ability, or my creativity!

Tools to Automate – There are plenty of tools to help me grow my business online, tools that help automate my business allowing me to service the growing number of clients without expensive out sourcing. One of the biggest dating sites in the world Plenty of Fish is still being run out of an 83-square-metre apartment in downtown Vancouver. Markus Frind who owns and operates the popular dating site spends approximately 2 hours a day and makes as much as $10 million per year. (I believe he has recently hired an assistant to answer emails, etc.)

7. My Product Lineup – As an Affiliate Marketer, I have access to thousands of products, some of which are the most sought after material in the online world, and it came with nothing more than the ability to market those products that related to my niche.

8. No more Commute – Really? Do I need to say anymore? J No more traffic, no more unexpected accidents on the way to work, causing me to be late for that important meeting, no more sudden snow storms that catch my city off guard, causing a two hour delay on the way to work. I’ve timed it, and I what used to take me 35 minutes each way, now only takes 20 seconds.

9. Overhead Costs – The traditional brick and mortar type businesses typically require much more overhead costs. I had a Bottled Water company that had warehouse costs, forklift rental fees, fuel for trucks, bottles, coolers, yellow page ads, rent, salaries, etc. It added up to quite the big number before I even started my day. Now my budget is much lower, I’m able to more of the advertising myself, and if I run across something I’m not familiar with, I have the time to research it, and decide if it’s something I’m willing to learn and take on, or if I want to hire an expert.

10. Holidays – My holidays used to be dictated by seniority, and the “needs of the business”. Now, I can take as much time as I require, whenever I require. My business is portable, and as long as I have a laptop, and an Internet connection, I can take care of business wherever I wish.

I’m sure that if I asked 20 different work at home entrepreneurs I’d receive as many different answers as to which benefit they place highest on their list of reasons to work at home vs. a more conventional JOB, but what it all boils down to, is YOU and your own personal views, and priorities, things that are important inYOUR life

At Google we love to play! We keep redesigning our corporate logo to celebrate scientific and artistic achievements, festivals and historic events. In this spirit, we are happy to announce the launch of our second Doodle 4 Google competition in India to celebrate the Children’s Day on 14 November , 2010.

We are inviting all children in India to participate in this exciting 'doodling' competition and get a chance to feature their ‘doodle’ on 14 November on www.google.co.in. The competition is open for all children from 5 to 16 years across India. This year, our chosen theme is ‘My dream for India’ encouraging young doodlers to imagine what India would be like in two decades from now and capture those images in color and paper.

In addition to the winner's doodle appearing on Google.co.in on November 14, 2010, the star Doodler will receive a technology starter package including a laptop, a year’s Internet connection and a Rs 2,00,000 technology grant for the school that he or she will represent.

Just like last year, the participants will be clubbed in three different categories- Class 1 to 3 , Class 4 to 6 and Class 7 to 10. JJ School of Arts will select the top 200 entries from each category which will be reviewed by a panel of judges. The judges will then shortlist 15 doodles from each category, bringing it down to a total of 45 final Doodles.

All the final entries will be exhibited for public voting and based on the number of votes, one winner from each category will be selected. Each of these winners will receive a laptop. Dennis Hwang, the original Google Doodler, will then choose the final winning Doodle from the total 45 finalists.

Participating in the competition is simple:

Children studying in Class 1 to 10 can participate in the competition. These will be divided into three categories- Class 1 to 3 ; Class 4 to 6 and ; Class 7 to 10.
All participants must register on the website (www.google.co.in/doodle4google). The submission may be either individually or through the school. The school route is valid only if the school is organizing to collect and submit the doodles on behalf of their students.
Last date for submissions is 25 September, 2010
JJ School of Arts will select the top 600 Doodles which will enter the Semi- Final round.

Why Too Much Money is Worse than Too Little

Many entrepreneurs believe that the lack of capital is their primary problem. If only they had a fat bank balance, they could kick butt. As a venture capitalist, I’ve seen what happens when companies raise substantial capital. It’s not pretty—in fact, my theory is that too much money is worse than too little. Here’s why.

1. Expenses expand to the level of funding.
Funny how this works: companies create projections that use the money that they have. The availability of money makes them think of ways to spend it, so there’s less emphasis on doing the right things the right way. The logic becomes, “Our investors gave us this money to invest, not to collect interest in the bank. They want us to scale up and go for it, so we should spend it. We know we’ll meet our milestones, and our competition is a joke, so we’ll always be able to get more money.”

2. Money creates a false sense of security.
Companies divide the amount of money that they have by their monthly expenses. This figure is a company’s “runway” or the number of months that it can survive. There are three problems with this calculation: first, expenses always rise, so the number of months decreases. Second, products are always late, so that any revenue that company counted on to extend the runway don’t materialize. Third, just because a company has the money doesn’t mean that investors won’t ask for it back. Trust me: I’ve seen it happen, and no one was more shocked than the management of the company.

3. Money makes companies hire “proven” people.
When companies don’t have money, they hire unproven people who are young, inexperienced, cheap and smart. When companies have money, they hire proven people from existing companies who are old, experience, expensive and lucky. These folks are accustomed to secretaries, first-class travel, and staying in the Four Seasons. You read it here first: proven people are over-rated. Oh, their resumes are great, and they look great on your website, but they didn’t cause the success of their former companies. They just happened to be there when these organizations succeeded.

4. Money makes companies buy people with salaries.
No matter what kind of people you hire, when companies have money, they use it to hire them. This is instead of reality distortion (aka, “evangelism”) and stock options. The thinking about stock options goes like this: “Options are the most expensive form of compensation since the company is going to be bigger than Google and Apple combined. Let’s use money. It’s cheaper.” When a company doesn’t have money, it has to use evangelism and options, and this is better for everyone because these types of compensation attract the right kind of people for a startup.

5. Money causes dependence on experts and vendors.
When a company has money, it looks outside for “world-class” experts and vendors—after all, “the investors gave us this money to build the best company possible in the shortest time possible.” This is when the consultants and agencies start charging the company $200/hour for the Asian art-history major who’s been out of Princeton for a year. If a company doesn’t have money, it figures out cheap ways to get results. It develops the aforementioned young, inexperienced, cheap and smart people because it has no choice but to make them effective.

6. Money makes entrepreneurship look like a serial process.
When companies have money, their thinking is serial: first they raise money, then they create the product, then they sell it, then they collect revenues, and then they meet with Goldman, Sachs for their IPO roadshow. The reality is that entrepreneurship is not serial—it’s a parallel process in which companies must raise money, create a product, sell it, collect revenues, and not have time to meet with Goldman, Sachs at the same time. Companies that work in a serial method are doomed because most markets move too fast for that approach.

If your company is short of money, I hope that you feel better now. The factors that ultimately make you successful may be in place. On the other hand, if your company has a boatload of money and investors who say that they “really believe and support your management,” keep your resume current.

5. Blog commenting – Use scrapebox. set the name to genuine names and spin some good comments and do a blast on all the links created. Profile Links & Web 2.0 property.

Even tho, it is just a single site that is pointing to your site. It has value and google likes valuable links instead of overly spammed blog comments.

Too much work?
Yeah. But there are automated tools.
I am thinking of creating my own automated tool and releasing too.
It would do the whole job in a click. REALLY in a click.

Banned AdSense Publisher Gets His Money Back from Google

It’s not uncommon to hear stories of disgruntled AdSense publishers whose accounts have been permanently banned by Google either due to "non-compliance with AdSense policies" or for "posing a significant risk to AdWords advertisers."

The compliance issue is almost always related to content. For instance, if any particular website is centered around banned topics (like gambling or pornography), Google can disable AdSense serving for that website.

The next issue is more serious as it relates to "click fraud". No one obviously has a clear understanding of how Google determines "invalid clicks" but such an activity can invite an AdSense ban for life. There’s an appeal process at Google but again it doesn’t guarantee that your AdSense account will be reinstated even if you provide all the required details (like web server logs).

Aaron Greenspan was another happy AdSense user until he received an email from Google saying that his account has been cancelled.

While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our advertisers in the future, we’ve decided to disable your AdSense account.

Aaron writes in Huffington Post that his AdSense account was disabled without warning and he literally ran from pillar to post at Google trying to reach everyone from the AdSense Customer Service to the Legal Team to Google forums but with no success.

If an AdSense publisher’s account is disabled for invalid clicks, he is not entitled to any further payment from Google and all the current earnings are returned to the corresponding AdWords advertisers. The same happened to Aaron as he had made around $721 from AdSense but the payment was stopped after the account was disabled.

With literally no options left, Aaron made a final attempt and filed a civil lawsuit for $721.00 (the amount Google owed to him) saying that Google could not prove any wrongdoing and that Google’s fraud detection algorithm was imperfect. All he had to pay was $40 as the court fees for this lawsuit.

The AdSense account was disabled on December 9, 2008, he filed the lawsuit against Google on January 15, 2009 and on March 2, 2009, the judge delivered the following verdict:

I don’t think I have the power here in Palo Alto small claims court to make you reinstate his account, but I think you owe this young man $721. I think there might be money in Google’s treasury for that.

Google paid him all the "due" AdSense earnings along with the court fees though his account still stands cancelled.

I think a big reason why Google lost this case is because their lawyer couldn’t convince the judge about how "click fraud" was detected in first place. Google has good reasons to not disclose their fraud detection algorithms in public court cases but the fact that this decision went against Google could probably convince many more ex-AdSense users to follow the footsteps of Aaron.

No Ads On Google

Google makes most of their money from online advertising.

While it is technically possible to block Google ads on web pages through Firefox extensions or by modifying the hosts file, these hiding methods are mostly implemented by tech-savvy users and may not have that big an effect on Google's revenue.

However, here's a secret trick - if you append the parameter "output=googleabout" to Google Web Search URL, the search results page will not carry any AdSense ads that are otherwise seen on the top and right sections of the page.

The key to making enormous profits on eBay is to develop a detailed and efficient strategy long before you list your first item. First you need to know what type of product you want to sell, where to find your niche market on eBay, and develop a profile of your average customer. In addition, you should already have determined which categories are appropriate for your product. Now you are ready to set your strategy for the business.

I'm going to present you with a strategy that you can apply to virtually any product you wish to sell on eBay. I will generalize the outline so you can fill in the specifics related to your own particular niche market and merchandise.

There are two types of sellers on eBay which I will call High Volume Listers and Low Volume Listers. High Volume Listers are those who list more keep more than 10 auctions online at a time. Low Volume Listers keep fewer than 10 auctions online at a time.

The profit margin of the product you sell determines which category you will fit into. For example, if you sell real estate and make $10,000 per sale, you may only need to list a few properties each week on eBay to make a real killing with your internet business. The same applies for the sale of expensive jewelry, automobiles, and other items with a large profit margin. However, if you sell magazines or other inexpensive items you may only make $5-10 per sale. In this case, you would need to list hundreds of items at a time to make large profits, and thus you would become a High Volume Listing.

I know what you're thinking - why would anyone go through the effort of listing so many items when it seems so easy to list a few large items and make a fortune? The answer cuts to the heart of internet sales itself: ONLINE BUYERS ARE MOST WILLING TO SPEND UNDER $50.00 FOR A PRODUCT. This makes sense - would you pay thousands for something you have never seen? Another reason that High Volume Listers are more common and often make more money on eBay is that it is very easy to buy inexpensive items at wholesale prices, but very difficult to buy real estate or automobiles at wholesale prices.

Armed with this information, you must consider the product you're selling and make an intelligent, informed decision on whether to become a High Volume or a Low Volume Seller. If you have plenty of free time to devote to your new business, I recommend you opt for the High Volume option. But if you are an eBay seller at nights and on weekends, you may wish to start off with the Low Volume option until your business really takes off. Again, only you know best which option to choose based on the amount of time you have available and the profit margin of your merchandise. Once you determine what type of seller you will be, you are half-way to developing a sales strategy on eBay.

The next step is to integrate everything you have learned so far in this manual and project your selling strategy into the future. For example, let's assume you have decided to sell jewelry on eBay. Here is a test case for consideration: You have identified your niche market and found the associated categories. You know that your buyers will probably spend $50.00-100.00 per purchase and you realize that the average profit of your auctions will be about $60.00. You have plenty of time and your profit margin is low, so you decide to become a High Volume Seller on eBay and choose to list 100-200 auctions per week. You estimate that 70% of your auction will end with winning bids, which is the eBay average. Based on this prediction, you calculate your weekly income at $6300. Using database software, you plan to keep track of your auctions and use the built-in market analysis feature to discontinue unpopular items and relist the popular ones. You have a wholesale account set up with your jewelry supplier and have already purchased enough inventory to cover your first week of eBay sales. You plan to relist every auction as soon as it ends and place one weekly order to fill your inventory along with one weekly outgoing mailing to your buyers. Your basic sales strategy is set and you are ready to begin listing your auctions!

In the example above, you will notice that the seller thought of EVERYTHING before listing a single item, making sure that he/she was prepared for the task ahead and establishing a solid game plan. Before beginning, you should project your sales strategy into the future and run through all possible problems, resolving them in your mind. If it helps, write out a paragraph like the one above and analyze it for errors of logic. KNOW YOUR SALES STRATEGY BEFORE YOU BEGIN.

The best network I have ever seen for that is ‘Revenue Universe’, they have a lot of offers that allow cash incentives, but many other networks do as well. That’s just the best one I’ve come across. They pay Net 30 though, which kinda sucks.

2) It will take you longer time to open one by one to test your website, now you open the website URLOpener.com, copy all the website value sites from the notepad and paste into the URLOpener, and press submit.

3) When you press submit, all the websites will be opened in a new tab. Hold for a minute for them to load. Once all of them have been completely loaded, close all the tab and you’re done!

I’ve been creating tons of one page micro niche website and make moneywithGoogle Adsense, so I want all of them to be indexed by Google as soon as possible and pull in some hardcore cash in short time. Drive Traffic to Old Content with “Tweet Old Post” Plugin

How long ago did you create your Twitter account? Hold on to that number…how long ago did you launch your blog? Something tells me that you’ve probably been running your blog much longer than you’ve had a Twitter account…am I right? If so this can only mean one thing, unless you’ve been actively tweeting older posts from your blog, your Twitter followers have no idea about the treasure trove of (older) content that is sitting on your site. Sure you are getting a ton of search engine traffic, but hasn’t traffic from social media also proven to be extremely lucrative as well? Why let that potential traffic go to waste?

This is where the Tweet Old Post plugin comes in. The Tweet Old Post plugin does one thing and it does it well, it allows you to automatically tweet about old posts using a specified Twitter account and it provides you with a set of options to make sure that tweet is right.

Before you go and install this free plugin make sure you read this in depth review to help you decide whether this plugin is the right tool for you.

Requirements

Tweet Old Post requires that you run at a minimum WordPress 2.7 and it officially supports WordPress up to 2.92, however I currently run this plugin in WordPress 3.01 with no issues.
Your server must run PHP5 and PHP 4 is now supported in the latest release.

You can download and install the Tweet Old Post plugin from the Plugins directory in WordPress within your WordPress installation or you can download the plugin directly from the WordPress by following this link.

To install from your WordPress installation simply click on Plugins in the Admin menu, Add New, and search for Tweet Old Post. When the plugin appears in the search results list, click on the Install button to download and install the plugin.

Once you’ve successfully installed and activated the plugin, follow the instructions below.

1. Go to Settings in the Admin page and click on Tweet Old Posts.

The plugin is fairly easy to configure all you need to do is enter the Twitter user name and password you wish to automatically tweet to. However if you wish to harness the power of this plugin you will need to delve in the additional options that are available.

2. Set the following options.

As you can see from the screenshot above there are quite a bit of options that are available which allow you to customize how the tweets are delivered and when. We will go over each of these options in detail so that you understand each of the settings.

a. Twitter User Name and Twitter Password - As I mentioned before, you can simply enter your Twitter user name and password and start tweeting automatically right away. If you run into any issues with this plugin, most of them can be resolved by double checking that you entered the correct user name and password.

b. Tweet Prefix – If set, each tweet that is automatically generated will be prefixed with the information you enter in this box. Keep in mind the character limits and the fact that it will be used for every single tweet that is automatically generated.

c. Add post data to tweet – If set to Yes, the tweet will include additional information from the post, i.e. content. I would probably leave this set to No.

d. Fetch URL from Custom field – If checked the URL that will be used when tweeting will be from the custom field otherwise the plugin will use the shortened URL.

e. Use URL shortener and URL Shortener Service – If you decide to use a URL shortener service you can specify which one to use from the list of available services.

f. Default #hash tags for your tweets – Using this option you can specify a set of hash tags to be used with your tweets. Again, keep in mind that these tweets will be automated and the content tweeted will be random so make sure you use a hash tag that will apply to all of the content.

g. Time intervals & Eligible Post Age

Minimum interval between tweets – You can set the minimum amount of time in intervals between tweets. The options range from 1 hour to 168 hours (7 days).
Random Interval – This time interval is added to the minimum interval and it helps tweets appear a bit more natural. Options vary from 1 hour to 24 hours.
Minimum age of post to be eligible for tweet – This option allows you set the minimum age of the posts being tweeted. Options vary from 7 days to 365 days. It would be nice if one could enter a set number.
Maximum age of post to be eligible for tweet – Allows you to set the max age of the posts being tweeted. Options vary from None to 365 days.

h. Categories to Omit from Tweets – If you’ve done a really good job of categorizing your posts you will find this option a lifesaver, specifically if you use specific hash tags for certain categories.

3. Once you are satisfied with the settings you will have two options; you can update the plugin settings or you can Tweet Now to make sure everything is working correctly.

The screenshot above is an example of a Tweet from an old post appearing on Twitter when the Tweet Now button was used.

As you can see by now, this plugin has a lot of options to offer and a lot of potential to drive traffic to all of those old posts on your blog. However there are some shortcomings that may make you reconsider.

You cannot set a custom time interval for minimum interval between tweets, random interval, minimum age of post eligibility, and max age of post eligibility.
You cannot omit tags from being tweeted; you have to rely on categories to filter what gets tweeted.
You can only use one Twitter account per installation.
You can only set one group of tweets at a time. For example, I would like the ability to automatically tweet certain categories with a specific set of hash tags that would differ from another group of automatic tweets based on other conditions.

Despite these shortcomings, this plugin makes should be on the top of everyone’s essential WordPress plugins list. It will help you promote older content and recycle more current content to new Twitter followers. I hope the developer is listening…If the features discussed above are added, I think that this would be a killer plugin, something I’d be willing to pay for.

I get validated my account with this method. It’s like using a virtual card but free of charge. Everybody can do this. It’s valid for all country

1) Register in www.neteller.com with true information. Must match your PayPal account information.

2) Validate your Neteller account. You must send scans of ID, and one utility bill with your name and full adress. Takes one week or less to get the validation if everything is ok.

3) Once you get activated, login into your Neteller account and click on “Net+ Virtual Card” link. There you will find an option to activate the virtual card. This is usually instant if you have did everything right. You can open the “Web Version” or download the “Desktop Version”. Both are the same. Once open you’ll see this nice virtual card:

There you have the number, expiration date and CVC. The play button generates a new card, and the trash can destroys the current card. You can use it whenever you want.
NOTE: you can get a real debit card too. You can use it on ATM’s. It’s free and comes in 20 days. But be careful… it has an “inactivity fee” of $3 x month

4) Well, this is the more difficult part… How to charge your Neteller account? You have some options:

> Bank Transfer (minimun to deposit: $30)
> EverestPoker Method (minimun to deposit: $10) [Moneybookers, Paysafecard, Click2Pay]
> Whit my help (this will cost you $7)

Let’s me explain the “EverestPoker” method. This will work only if you have money on Moneybookers, Paysafecard or Click2Pay. Only works with EverestPoker because is the only poker room wich allows to deposit with one method and withfraw with another.
All you have to do is register go to www.everestpoker.com , download the room, register a real money account, and deposit $11. Then play some 10cent tables to conceal, but always let 10$ in your balance. Then request a cashout, select “Neteller” and withdraw thes $10 (is the minimun withdraw allowed).
