In this the second of the ‘Dartmouth Cobra’ series I started reading it knowing that Silver Delgado, the absentee stand-offish sister of Oriana Delgado, would be getting her story.  To say that I wanted to see Silver fall on her face in humiliation and shame would be an understatement.  It would take a VERY convincing story line for me to become a Silver Delagdo fan.  She had too many strikes against her to think I would forgive or forget her actions in the previous book.

WOW!  The author did it.  The many issues that were problematic for me were explained in such a way that I quickly forgot my resentment issues and started to read and appreciate this story as written.  The dynamics and dialogue between the characters had me believing these were real people, rather than fictional characters, working to build a relationship that could endure. The flaws, poor judgement, and problems each character had were not only endearing but showed that people are never perfect and mistakes are made. But with commitment, communication, and give-and-take relationships can grow and thrive for the long haul.

While I loved the story line, I was amazed at the hockey and BDSM elements. The hockey was rough and intense, with players fighting and getting injured on the ice, but still having that euphoric feel that scoring and winning make it all worth while. The BDSM scenes stayed true to core principles with a darker intensity and erotic feel that won’t disappoint. But be warned, reading these scenes are not for the faint of heart. Silver and her men have scenes that were not only HAWT, but satisfyingly orgasmic, and include the use of caning, wands, and breath play.

Yes, I recommend this book. It’s a contemporary BDSM menage read with a hockey theme. There are so many story line twists and turns that will challenge you to predict what direction the story is going in until the very end which ends with a cliffhanger that sets the stage for the next book in the series.

Breathless.

That is the single word I can use to describe this book; this series for that matter. I adored every inch of what I read of Molly and Mephisto. It was both a torturous journey and tragic at times. I understood Molly, because at one time in my life I was that girl. Reckless, destructive, impulsive, and out of control. I let things get to me that normal people wouldn’t have. I felt worthless and unlovable. All these things Molly feels. A woman trapped in a world where she felt unworthy and unlovable, I wanted to hug her and tell her it was going to be ok. Her grief ripped me in two. I had tears more times in this book, then a lot of books I have read. I laughed and felt so much joy. This is the love story for the masochist in all of us. It was an adventure of the heart, soul, and mind. I can’t really put into words what this book did for me. It is hard to review a book I loved this intensely.

It is not just the story, but the writing is connecting. I feel into the world, and I was watching. An invisible figure following around these characters; their troubles and fears, their love and lose. God, I feel in love, in lust, and in heartache. Annabel didn’t miss a beat. I could tell, that in her heart, she knew these characters, and she bleed out their story on the page for us. These were characters invented in HER mind, and she gave us a gift. Without this story, I would have felt incomplete. I would have forever been trolling in the hopes she would give us more Molly and Mephisto. I have to say, I like Molly the Molly better than Molly the slavegirl 24/7. She was an engaging woman, that if she lost that part of her spirit, she would have felt forever incomplete.

What a journey, what a incredible story. I can’t tell too much without giving the game away. All I will say, in hopes that Ms. Joseph reads this. The labor scene and the ‘dubious consent’ roleplay were by far my favorite! Got and it even gave me ideas!  I don’t read stories again very often. I just don’t have the time with my ever growing list of books to read. But this series, I plan on reading to my husband at night. He likes when I read to him, and this is up next. I have told him, and I told him he will recognize a little bit of use in Burn For You. Because there is so much of me in Molly, and finding the balance in someone like me, that would thrive in a TPE, but doesn’t want to lose the ‘fiery’ personality.

I will say. Thank you Ms. James. To me, as a masochist, this book was like a gift. And thank you for your after thoughts at the end of the book. It made me tear up and want to thank you personally if I could.

I couldn’t resist.

I had to review this book the moment I was done with it, even if I am dying to get into the next book. Finally, after all this time, we get into the mind of Mephisto. It all falls together like scattered pieces of a puzzle that have been missing. The final piece was the method beyond Mephisto’s madness. The thing we all secretly knew was true, and finally it was confirmed in the final pages of this novella that left us all crying and smiling at the same time. Annabel warns at the very beginning that this isn’t a love story. Oh, how wrong she is! For the masochist, it is so desperately romantic we can’t help but weep for all the characters involved. I felt so much connection with Molly, and then to be confronted with the ultimate Master, and find out his emotions aren’t so cold—it was powerful. I dreamt about Molly and Mephisto after reading the last book, and I have no doubt after keeping myself up all night to finish up the final book in the series. Molly and Mephisto will invade my brain and lull me into a wonderful S&m filled slumber.

Annabel is truly my idol at the moment. Where BDSM is concerned she has crushed the competition and she has made a firm standing in my opinion as one of the premier BDSM authors around. Not only is her writing solid and exquisite. But it has a level of sweet, yet disturbing truth to it. So many people have this jaded concept of what a Total Power Exchange is. No, it is not randomly submitting to your significant other in the bedroom. Hate to break it to you, that is just a simple power exchange. This is so complete, so perfectly written and they see the deep nature of the connection. Soul to Soul, even heart to heart. I am in love with these characters. All of them!

The Club Mephisto Series is very much a recommended read for me! If you like BDSM, if you like S&m; Master/slave relationships, grab this book. Impressive Ms. Joseph, very impressive!

OK, so my computer started having problems, and I had to spend some time reorganizing, scanning, and cleaning up my computer.  The reason this is relevant is that I found some of my older e-books by authors that I used to read and love.  I decided to go searching and see what they have new out there.  First one up is Sierra Cartwright and her recent release Three-Way Tie.

I loved this story!  Loved, loved, loved it.  I wanted to be in this book.  I wanted to experience everything Lindsey did.  I wondered if Ms Cartwright had reached into my head, pulled out a few of my favorite fantasies and masterfully threaded them together into a fantastically hot story.

Then I got to the final chapter, and well, it was a bit of a letdown.  After this great story that let me progress with the feelings of the characters, the ending felt like a rushed afterthought.   There were some threads I would have liked more details on.  I was just left wanting MORE overall.

I believe this book was written for the Subspace anthology which does explain the need for keeping the book to a set length.  I just wish that it could have been expanded on a bit when released on its own.  The book, even with the rushed ending, is very good.  I still recommend reading it.  Just be prepared.

I have to stay, for a quick, sweet read, this was entirely too sexy for its own good. I was very tempted to drop it onto the erotica site because of the hotness factor this book had. Alas, it has a happy ending and a very to the point erotic romance storyline. With all that being said, I enjoyed it. I am very much a sucker for superheroes. I am a nerd, a fan, and when you add sex into my ultimate nerd fantasy, I am a goner. No matter how sweet and happy you make the ending. I was in love with this story from the moment I started reading, and it was a group of super heroes playing poker (you have to wonder if this is fair for any of them.) But somehow it all worked. The characters were clever and well developed, I didn’t get the sense that any of them were ringing to cookie cutter. I really liked the heroine; she was smart and totally hot. She was the ‘ugly pretty girl’ I like to call them. She is totally hot without really knowing it. She wasn’t the stereo typical skinny hottie that is in most books. She noted her extra weight to her love of food, and yet the handsome hero loves her all the more. You got to love a woman with curves! I know I do.

It was a very quick read, with an easy going storyline, with not too much action. But the author wrote the characters just too darned likable! Would I have liked more superhero play? Yes, I would have. Only because those are the best parts, it brings out the heroes vulnerability and you sometimes need that action sequence to show that even a hero can be taken down and beat. I think the author was going more for a behind the scenes vantage; a day in the life, if you will. There was a rescue, and of course that lead to outrageously hot kinky sex. Could we really ask for anything more? Lynn is not on my author watch list, can’t wait for another book!

Ok, I want Mephisto to Master me. I don’t have any desire to be a pleasure slave, but he makes it look so damned good!

Club Mephisto will test your limits. It will bring you down; make you take a breath, and just when you think some flowers and roses are coming. BAM! There is a harsh punishment scene on the cusp of an orgasm that makes you scream at the book and beg for more all at once. This is the story of Molly, a very well educated woman that met a man in a BDSM, who later became her Master and husband. Molly, from what I can tell, lived a life of order and control. You would have to in order to gain a degree in college. She has taken to her role of pleasure slave easily it would seem. Longing to please her Master in any way that he deems fit.

HOT! So, taboo and wicked. This was a book about Total Power Exchange. I think, lately, with the whole boom in BDSM fanatics, people don’t honestly understand what Total Power Exchange is. It is not “We go in the bedroom and you top me for an hour, and then we are good.” No, if you are unclear on what a TPE is, then read this book. It is harsh, it is intense, and it will tangle your insides and make no apologies for it. When Molly’s husband lets her know he will be gone for a week on business, she is upset; only to find out that she will be, being cared for by club owner, Mephisto, an enigma to most of the club patrons. Molly even worked under him for a time, and still knows nothing about him. Just that no one owns Mephisto and Mephisto truly owns no one himself; the ultimate Master and trainer.

Molly is a pampered pleasure slave, her husband loves her and rightly so he married her. Mephisto is about to show her that she has been taking her pampered life for granted, and shows her the true meaning of being a slave. The story ripped at my heart and I really sympathized with Molly. Her experiences have only been with Clayton, her husband. And Mephisto owns her body and her soul by the end. He isn’t totally brutal, he has heart, and softness that comes out at times when he takes her places she hasn’t been in awhile. I have a few personal issues, but when I pushed them aside I could totally enjoy the book. It is difficult for me to understand why a husband would allow his wife to be humped by other men (There is an orgy scene at the club when she is owned by Mephisto.) And one after another she is filled and drilled. It was a hard concept for me to truly understand, but it didn’t deflect my enjoyment.

By the end of the story I was totally in love with Mephisto and Molly, and wanted inside Mephisto’s head so bad I wanted to scream! This is an intense, BDSM erotic novel that tests the very limits of the mind and soul. Would you go that far for ultimate pleasure? I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes BDSM, anyone that likes limits pushed, and darker BDSM literature. I honestly believe that Annabel rivals Anne Rice and her Sleeping Beauty books in her elegance in writing!

I saw this book offered on Netgalley, and I just had to grab it. I know that Carina has a very small selection of BDSM books, and when I see BDSM I kinda of snatch without really thinking about it. I am going to do my best with this review, I have nothing against this author or the actual book for giving it a 3.5 rating. I think if I went into it expecting something totally different, I would have savored the story a lot more and wouldn’t have been disappointed by the end.

First, this story is a fantastic love story. Callie is a very strong writer with a fantastic voice. She weaves a romantic tale of personal demons, and how one can battle through them to not lose out on something great in your life. My issue more comes from what the story said it was about and how it was labeled genre wise.

I am not sure this book should be in the BDSM section. Yes, it has some very light, and I mean very light D/s elements. The heroine is being told by the hero to put her arms over her head and keep them there, pretty much the beginning stages of a D/s relationship; with the hero having random thoughts of tying up and dominating the heroine. Ok, tease me once, and you have a great tension build. Tease me twice and not deliver still and I start to get annoyed. Tease me a third time with bondage and submission, and I am just going to be irritated; which, ultimately, that is how I finished this book. It was like coming so close to that orgasm, it is there, just resting, waiting for a really good spanking—that never comes. The man comes before you can have your relief and you never find yours. It was like vanilla sex with the promise of something much more, and it never happening. The story is being sold in the BDSM of Carina, and marked that he is a sexual dominant. I got that, but I was never shown that.

At the end of the day it is a very sexual, erotic romance novel with a HEA, and it made me go “Oh, well, that’s not what I grabbed.”

I may sound harsh in my judgments. I know that a lot of readers will LOVE this story. It is sweet, sexy, the sex scenes are hot, the male is very Alpha and he does very much deliver. For me, I was sold something different than what I read. That is my main issue.

That being said, I do recommend this book. Readers of sugar kink with love this taboo little tail. It will leave you guessing till the end and will deliver for all you fans of a HEA!

Olivia has become an instant buy or review grab author for me. Her writing is effortless, and she is able to tell an incredible story in a very small amount of words. This story is not different. The 1NightStand series books are like fine desserts. But you either grab a winner, or you grab an, “Aw, that was cute.” This was impressed me. It was fresh, different, and made me want to read more about Sierra and Daniel. You are taken on a sweet journey in this story; two characters, both that have some sort of tragic background that they have had to overcome. I am convinced Madame Eve is like Aphrodite at this point. How could she not be, she delivers hot sex and perfect matches. Well, I think Olivia most of all delivers hot sex in a very sweet package.

From beginning to end, I couldn’t put the story down. I flicked it open, and I kept reading till the last page and then I screamed, like I am apparently going to do with all Olivia Starke books, because she leaves it on a note that could open up to so much more! However, 1Nightstands are not meant to be revisited, so you know, in your own brain, that YOU are the one that has to fill in the blanks from that point on. I loved that the lead female was blind. I often wonder why the heroine of romance’s is never inflicted with that challenge to overcome. For Sierra, it is natural, and makes her a stronger woman. Does she have vulnerable moments? Yes, she does, and that makes her very relatable to the reader.

Of course, as in all the Olivia books I have read, there was a twist at the end. I went Awww this time instead of screaming profanity at the book (I am used to her books in The Edge Series), and that was a very welcome change. Olivia has proven to me once more that she is a true author, and that her talents are being executed and shared with the world in the best way!
