Use the steps below to get free targeted website traffic in any niche.

First, sign up to the Free Traffic System (truly free for 60 one-way backlinks per submission - you get unlimited submissions).

Then, log in to the system and you will be at the "New Article" screen.

You can have 2 links per article. You can use whichever anchor text you wish for each link. You can actually specify several varying anchor text for several varying URLs. The system will just randomly grab a keyword and attach it to a random URL if you do in fact specify more than one of each. In most cases you will probably just use one URL. Also, you might want to target just one keyword for the 1st submission, and perhaps some LSI keywords for future submissions, but it all depends how you roll in the SEO game.

There are 4 boxes for you to put your keywords/URLs into. Add them now.

Add a "spun" article title (more on that in a minute).

Add a "spun" article body and insert the tokens (more info in a minute).

Add a tag. (allowed just one tag)

Now enter a keyword or multiple keywords separated by the pipe "|" symbol. Then click "Get Blogs". This will allow you to see a list of blogs in your niche (that match the keywords that you specified). These blogs are where your content will be posted with do-follow backlinks. You just select the blogs (up to 30) and the category on the blog for where you want your content to be posted. Your content (which will be unique by the way - part of the "spinning" that I will explain in a sec) will be slowly posted to these blogs over time.

That's it! The ball is rolling. Now, a word on "spinning"...

I've discussed spinning in the past, and the concept of blog content syndication. It allows you to submit an article in a special format that will generate multiple unique versions of the article. This is accomplished by rewriting each sentence or paragraph or other group of text one or more times. The system randomly grabs either the original or a rewrite for each of the "groups of text" that you decided to spin, in order to generate unique renditions of the article.

I offer an article spinning service. You can see the details over on DP. One of my writers can put together a unique article for you (minimum of 450 words is required) and "spin" it on the sentence level and produce a spin-ready, properly formatted article ready to be submitted to the Free Traffic System.

Inserting tokens: Once the "spun" article is complete, you just have to insert tokens where you would like your links to be. So, just hunt down your first keyword that you want linked and replace it with: %LINK1% and then do the same for the second keyword, except, of course, using the token: %LINK2%

One note on the spun content. You cannot spin the sentence which contains your token. At least I haven't been able to get it to work so I stopped trying. The thing is, you are only allowed 2 links per article. If you spin the sentence with your %LINK% token, then that token will exist twice. The system looks at that as if you were trying to insert more links than you are allowed. It's annoying but not a huge deal. I'll be emailing them about it soon, so maybe it will have been fixed by the time you read this.

Here's an example of what a "spun" article might look like...

ORIGINAL ARTICLE:
The BodyBugg is a calorie management device that was brought to fame on the hit TV show, The Biggest Loser. This device calculates the number of calories consumed and the number of calories burned throughout the day to determine if weight loss will occur.

SPUN ARTICLE:
[spin]The BodyBugg is a calorie management device that was brought to fame on the hit TV show, The Biggest Loser.|The hit NBC show, The Biggest Loser, helped make the calorie management device, the BodyBugg a household name.[/spin] [spin]This device calculates the number of calories consumed and the number of calories burned throughout the day to determine if weight loss will occur.|As you wear the device throughout the day it will measure caloric intake and expenditure. If more calories were burned than consumed, weight loss will occur.[/spin]

This small example would result in 4 articles that can be generated... the complete original, the complete rewrite, and the 2 mixes. I'm sure there is some sort of formula to calculate how many versions can be created, but if you submit a 450 word article to the Free Traffic System and spin each sentence, I'm sure it will generate enough versions to reach the 30 blogs that you are allowed. I do the exact same thing for other networks and I get 100's of versions that are generated.

Don't take this information lightly. Put in the work and you WILL reap the rewards. The reason it is free is because an extra link is added to the bottom of your article when it gets submitted. That link can be mine if you use my link, otherwise it will a link to promote the Free Traffic System. Either way you can get a lot of mileage from this free technique. Now... do it! (then promote it in the same way that I have to get your backlinks in other people's submissions, and so on, and so on...)

When I sit down to write a piece of content, or pay to have one written, for a niche site... I want to stretch it as far as I can. I am going to run through the process I use when trying to rank for a particular long tail keyword to flow traffic into my site from 3rd party sites. My mission is always to get all the top spots on the first page, and sometimes I accomplish just that.

1. I pick a topic that is related to my niche but not a topic that I would write about on my actual niche site. For example, if I had a site about "walleye topwater fishing lures", I might look to a topic like "walleye night fishing". I would use Market Samurai to find a keyword that gets a minimum of 100 SEOT for exact match, has less than 60,000 SEOC and weak competition. To understand what I mean, grab a free copy of Market Samurai and watch the intro videos.
2. Now I decide where I want my content to go to determine how many articles that I need written. I usually get four articles written targeting the keyword. I submit one to Ezine Articles because they require 100% unique content, one to Hub Pages and one to Squidoo. I also "spin" one (usually the one I submitted to Squidoo) and submit the spin to both SK and AMA. This spin lands me tons of backlinks in the long term which is where most of the benefit is, rather than ranking for the chosen keyword. But when submitting to SK and AMA, there are plenty of valuable sites that your content will land on and your article may just end up ranking well in the search engines. Keep in mind that all "spun" content is unique as well.
3. I submit the fourth piece of content to various article directories and I also repurpose it for extra leverage. These days I spin the article and submit it to Unique Article Wizard which is a service similar to SK and AMA but it submits unique versions of your content to blogs, article directories and other web sites. The great thing about SK, UAW and AMA is that your content contains backlinks to your sites with random anchor text of your choice. So, for the "walleye topwater fishing lures" site I might link to it with the anchor text: "walleye topwater fishing lures" or "walleye topwater fishing baits" or "walleye topwater fishing plugs", etc. The system will just pick one and drop it in.
4. The first part of the repurposing is creating a PDF from the article. You can do that free using OpenOffice.org software. Then submit the PDF to sites like Scribd.com and Docstoc.com.
5. I then take main points from the article and add them to slides in a PowerPoint Presentation and submit the presentation to Slideshare.com. I sometimes submit my PDF to Slideshare as well.
6. Next, I use Jing from JingProject.com to record myself reading the slides and navigating through the presentation. I submit the resultant video to video sharing sites like YouTube and put my URL in the description.
7. I record myself reading the entire article and save it as an mp3. I use MP3 Voice Recorder (freeware) to accomplish that. I then submit them to podcast directories like PodcastAlley.com.
8. Then I convert my PDF to an EXE using PDF2EXE. Then I generate a PAD file using PADGen. Then I submit the EXE to software directories using ABB Pad Submitter. Very powerful!
9. I submit any RSS feeds that I have (from article directories, Squidoo, my blog, DocStoc, YouTube, etc.) to Feedage.com and FeedAgg.com and a few others, but mainly the 2 mentioned.
10. I Digg just one of the published articles. I add another to Propeller.

Performing all of the steps above often lands me in several top spots for my chosen keyword, then my site is just 2 clicks away! Be sure and use your keyword in the title on all submissions. Also, locate the RSS feed for all your profiles and be sure to submit them to RSS directories. The RSS links are often do-follow even if the ones on the site are not. Also, you may want to merge all your feeds using Yahoo! Pipes or a similar service and submit the resultant RSS feed to RSS directories as well. Also, complete your profiles on all 3rd party sites and drop in a link to your site if there is a space for it. I know it's a lot of work but it's well worth it. You can try Brute Force SEO to automate most of the above (and more) if your budget allows.

The WP Review Site plugin makes it simple to create a review site using Wordpress. Following are some of the features of this plugin...

You may recall, I won a copy of the phpOStock plugin a few days back. Well, I had the chance to use it today. I have to say, it is refreshingly simple to implement and use. It's even simpler than my favourite pro plugin phpBay.

Simple Templates

It seems they took their cues from phpBay when creating the plugin. There are several similarities. I really like the template features of phpOStock to let you change the layout/look of the listings. phpBay allows you to change the layout of the listings as well but offers some global settings to affect the layout in the plugin settings page, which I found confused things a bit.

If you know a bit of HTML you can quickly and easily edit (or create) a new layout for the listings (on both phpBay and phpOStock). I think there should be a dropdown list of available layouts to pick from for both plugins. phpOStock should have that functionality already but doesn't appear to. phpOstock cleverly lets you specify different templates to use on a per-post or per-page level if you wish.

You know...it would be nice if the default templates for both plugins would make the images hyperlinked as well, but for some reason they don't.

I also like how phpOStock lets you specify ahead of time which parameters you plan to use in your templates, that way, only the data you want is pulled in and there is no wasted bandwidth. Like phpBay, phpOStock also implements SEO URL's which is nice, but they didn't do the same for images.

The Oddball (But Great) Server, GoDaddy

Another great feature that may go under-appreciated... they let you specify whether you are on a GoDaddy server or not. Because, as a lot of people that host with GoDaddy probably became aware of quickly, GoDaddy behaves differently than other servers and there is often tweaks that need to be done to get apps and even some WP themes to work. Albeit minor tweaks, but for those that don't know what they are doing, there may be some frustration and some people have actually switched hosting companies for that reason. Well, phpOStock takes care of the tweaks that need to be made. I would think that they should be able to detect whether you are on a GoDaddy server and make the changes silently but I'm not a programmer so I may be wrong.

It'd be nice if other software/theme developers followed suit as far as GoDaddy settings. It would save a lot of support frustrations for the developers and headaches for the users. For example, the self-hosted version of Tracking202 needs over 100 changes made when installing on GoDaddy and also for every upgrade!

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: simplexmlelement

If I had paid closer attention to the READ-ME file and manual I would have noticed that I needed to have php5 on my server. Well, I tried to run phpOStock on php4 and I got some grief with the fatal error mentioned above. If you host with GoDaddy, add the following line: AddHandler x-httpd-php5 .php to the top of your .htaccess file and you will be upgraded to php5 and that fatal error regarding simplexmlelement should vanish.

Get phpOStock

So, although I have never actually heard of Overstock.com nor phpOStock until sometime last month, I can see how some decent money can be made with them, being that it is sort of the same concept as phpBay. Overstock.com runs their affiliate program through CJ.com (no longer with LinkShare) and pays their affiliates 7% of all sales.

I rate phpOStock a 4.9 out of 5 and although I haven't made any money from it yet, I suspect I will very soon, and I do recommend it. I will keep you updated with my experiences with it.

Hey everyone, just a quick post today. I won a phpOStock contest (I think it's a monthly contest so you might want to get in on it) over at Ben Johnson's Blog.

I haven't used phpOStock yet and in fact I have never heard of it prior to the contest, but it's right up my alley for the types of sites I like to build. As far as I can tell, phpOStock is to Overstock.com what phpBay is to eBay.

This isn't an endorsement for the product (because like I said I haven't used it yet) and there are no affiliate links in this post (EDIT: I have now changed the links to affiliate links, I now recommend this product, but you can just go to phpostock.com directly if you'd rather bypass my links), but when I get my hands dirty with it and if it works for me, expect some tips and tricks and perhaps a new category devoted to it.

In the past a lot of eBay affiliates followed a simple model... get as many cookies on people's machines as possible. They weren't concerned with what the customer purchased or when they purchased it. That approach was short sighted as became evident with the new eBay pricing model.

If you sell someone on a particular product within your website, they click your link to go to eBay and bid on that exact product right away or use the BIN option if available, you deserve to be paid well and eBay will increase the quality of your clicks and pay you more per click. The review/guide style site, as taught in this 9 step guide, falls in line with the new pricing model on eBay. If you grasp what is being taught in the guide, and take action, you will be well on your way to making good money "per click" as an eBay affiliate.

The new way to make money online as an eBay affiliate... write a review on a particular product type/brand, explain to the potential customer why it is good to purchase it on eBay, present them with a few relevant auctions to click on (use phpBay for this), or even a link to search results (no plugin required), they click the link or auction listing, and are more likely going to place a bid or use the BIN feature right away. Think "targeted" customers and you will earn more per click without question.

Of course, you are now going to need traffic and lots of it. One customer just won't land you $50+ with this new pricing model as was a possibility in the past. Also, you will need quality content.

Using Long Tails And Outsourcing Content

My recommendation... Find long tail keywords to use for each and every review post (or page) and guide. Of course you want low/weak competition keywords with high searches. Use Market Samurai to make getting these long tails very easy.

If you don't want to write content, try CyberHubOnline.com for cheap content. Tell them your long tail and you can get 300-400 word articles for around $2.00 each when buying in bulk (about 25+ I think). Give them 3 or 4 specific questions to answer about each product as a guideline.

Build Deep Backlinks

Social bookmark and build backlinks to each review. Use a service like Article Marketing Automation (AMA). You can submit articles with links back to your site using your long tail keywords as the anchor text. Create a 550+ word article in the required format for AMA and you can end up with over 100 backlinks to 3 different pages to your site with just 1 submission! Do that until all of your review pages and guides have links back and traffic will flow as you climb the rankings in the search engines. I would submit several that link back to your main page or for any keyword that has higher competition.

Use the launch package as mentioned in this post. It's a great way to bring in traffic and garner extra backlinks.

Maybe try odesk.com to hire someone to do some blog commenting for you linking back to your site from related blogs. You might pay around $20 for 100 links. Use Comment Kahuna or Market Samurai to find a list of related blogs that offer do-follow links and give that list to the person you hire.

I feel that with the new pricing model at the eBay Partner Network that the process taught in the N1Way Guide could almost be considered required knowledge. It's almost as if they knew this change was coming. Follow along and build your sites and you will succeed as an eBay affiliate.

I had several emails lately asking how I create my review sites after reading the N1Way guide. The answer to that question depends a lot on the niche or my goals with the site. There are a lot of things to consider in the creation of the site...

Do you use BANS or Wordpress with phpBay? My answer... Wordpress with phpBay 99% of the time.

Do you use posts or pages when using Wordpress? My answer... Posts 100% of the time (think RSS)... plus there's way less manual work, use the archives page for what it is meant for.

Where do you get the content? For some of the sites that I want to test or just set on auto-pilot I will use free, unique, automated content. With the automated content, sometimes I check each article before publishing and integrate the appropriate auctions into the posts. For some, the real auto-pilots, I will just insert some generic phpBay code into the post template file.

For 100% unique content (without the backlinks that are in the free automated content), I either look to DigitalPoint forums, TextBroker.com or write it myself. Then I will integrate the auctions in as I publish them.

What about comments?

Sometimes I use comments, sometimes I don't. Depends on the niche and if it seems to go well with it. Plus, as you may know, monitoring comments can be a bit of a pain sometimes, so with the auto-pilot sites, I just turn them off. Also, if your post ranks for a certain keyword, then some say it may lose the ranking of that keyword if there ends up being several comments over time because the page becomes diluted. Even though that may be valid, on the sites that I consider the most important, the ones I pay the most attention to, I will leave comments on but with a twist...

The Wordpress Review Plugin

There is this amazing plugin (I discussed it in the post: Create A Review Site Using Wordpress) that can be integrated very well with the sites that you build following the N1Way guide. With this plugin, previous customers of the product that you are promoting, can leave a review and a rating. The plugin takes over the comments in your blog to gather this data. It will also calculate averages, etc. and show Amazon-style ratings on the product posts. It will even put in the necessary microtags that the search engines can read when trying to review data for certain queries! If you aren't sure what I mean, look up hReview, more search engines are looking at this data and showing preference to sites that implement it. With the WP Review plugin, the microtags are all automatically integrated.

You could probably get fancy with custom fields and some changes to your template file to include auctions below the comments as well. A bit advanced. If enough people ask I will post on how to do it.

There are content networks that exist that offer free, unique, automated content to anyone interested.

The way it works is, marketers with a monthly subscription, will submit content to the network, usually in the form of 2-3 articles merged together in a special format. They will include links back to their sites within the content with whichever anchor text they want (depending on the network, the links might be in the resource section at the end of the article, or they might be within the article itself).

Well, with the content submission, there are easy to use tools at the network that assist in magically creating unique versions of the content. I can't discuss exactly how the system works on the inside but know this, it does not create machine generated junk, it generates quality articles from the merged document that was submitted. Sometimes in the neighbourhood of 100's to 1000's of unique, quality content is created! OK, so that's the paid end of the system in a nutshell, now for the free content...

If you have a blog, or in some cases an article directory, and in fact, with one of the networks it doesn't matter your platform, then you can sign up to the free end of the system to start receiving unique content automatically for practically any niche.

I have been working with three of the biggest, well established content syndication networks, both on the free and paid end. My reviews for the free end of Article Marketing Automation, Syndicate Kahuna and Unique Article Wizard are posted below.

The quality of content on all of the networks that I reviewed are anywhere between "not bad" and "great". They are all pretty much equal in this regard, in my opinion. The good thing is, you aren't forced to auto-publish any content, so you can "reject" or remove an article or post and it will never see the light of day.

As mentioned, I get content from all 3 networks. They all serve a different purpose in a sense, and serve the same purpose in another sense. Also, picking a combo of either SK and UAW, or AMA and UAW to submit content to, you will be getting tons and tons of backlinks with your chosen anchor text (or random anchor text), in a slow, natural progression. You can submit unlimited content for unlimited domains on these networks. Some marketers say that article marketing and/or blog content syndication is all they ever do for SEO! With one of the combos mentioned above, you will be covering both article marketing and blog content syndication but with unique content across the web, rather than the same article posted everywhere with typical article marketing. The AMA and UAW combo is the cheapest package.

Below I'm going to go through some of the different types of backlinks that you can get to your web sites. Just know, I'm not an authority on backlinking, I have never taken the time to test new backlink strategies and measure results, and I'm not an innovator in this area. I will only be discussing what I have learned from other people. Granted, I have used these methods and have seen good results. But for the most part, I just "trust" that this stuff is valid. I understand Google's goal as a search engine, and the information I have acquired about backlinking makes sense and is in align with my understanding of search engines for the most part. So, with that said, this isn't "cutting edge" material, it is tried and tested methods and descriptions that have been passed around the SEO circles for years.

Truly, the best method of getting backlinks that is 100% inline with what search engines want is to write good content and let people link to it on their own. But as we know, there are ways to assist in the process...

Backlinks From Different IP Addresses

It is generally accepted that backlinks to your websites from sites that are hosted on different servers other than your own, have more value. So, don't buy a shared hosting account that allows unlimited web sites and create a network of sites all linking back to your money site. It is easily detectable and not that valuable.

There are numerous ways to get backlinks from different IP addresses. These include (but are not limited to): Social Bookmarking, RSS Submission, Blog Commenting, Directory Submission, Video Sharing, General Article Marketing, Blog Content Syndication, Web 2.0 Property Building (Squidoo, Weebly, etc.), Press Releases, Guest Blogging, etc. etc.

Anchor Text Used In Backlink

The word(s) used that link to your site, the anchor text, is deemed as important. Change it up a bit and use related keywords as well. Just don't use "click here" all the time, be creative, or focus on specific keywords that you want to rank for.

Slow, Natural Link Building

Sure, it is often said that links should be built gradually and not just stop suddenly, that the same steady pace should, for the most part, continue, in order to be "natural". I really don't know about this one myself. What if you wrote something really newsworthy one day and it hit CNN and then suddenly 1000's of backlinks are being built inside of a week and maybe you even make it to Google Trends. Then, what if it suddenly dies down because it's old news? That defies the whole theory that slow and steady is the way to go. In fact the news blast seems more natural to me. So, I don't worry about this a whole lot myself, but it seems that the general consensus is to keep it slow and steady.

Education And Government Backlinks

Backlinks coming from web sites that have a .edu or .gov TLD are said to have more value. Makes sense.

Mixed PR Backlinks

Backlinks coming from sites that have a Google Page Rank of 10 are more valuable than a PR0 of course. Again, makes sense. Getting only backlinks from high PR's may not be the way to go though. It's probably good to get backlinks from a range of PR's, wouldn't you say? It would just be to obviously fabricated otherwise. I could be wrong of course, because getting backlinks from just PR8's only for example can occur naturally, it's just not likely in my opinion.

Deep Linking

Getting links just to your homepage isn't always best. Some of your best money making content may be at lower levels of your site. Also, you may want to rank some deeper pages for keywords on their own. I also read that if you say, add a page of content to Squidoo, and create more than 1 backlink to your homepage within that 1 page, the first backlink will be the one that is taken into account. The links further down the page won't pass any juice or anchor text.

Contextual Links

If you have a backlink created in the middle of a paragraph or article that is related to the content on your site, it is much more valuable than say, getting a backlink in the sidebar or footer that is part of a list or cluster of links.

DoFollow Links

A search engine may not give value to a backlink if it has a nofollow tag attached to it. A nofollow tag is essentially telling the search engine (particularly Google) that the backlink does not count as a vote for the linked site. The site the backlink is on is not vouching for your site so the search engine may ignore the anchor text, PR, etc.

What Are The Best Backlinks To Get?

Based on the info above it would seem you want backlinks with the following characteristics:

• from a range of IP addresses
• containing your choice of, and a variety of, anchor text
• perhaps created slowly
• from .edu and .gov sites on occasion if you can
• from mixed PR, high PR if you can
• to different pages of your site, not just the homepage
• within a paragraph of related content (contextual, rather than clustered)
• dofollow if possible

Now, if you can get backlinks like described in the list above you are on the right track. Of the backlinking procedures that I follow for my niche sites, there is one method that covers all of the backlink characteristics (except maybe getting links from education and government sites), and that's from blog content syndication. <- That's a link to a post I wrote on it a few days back.

With blog content syndication you can essentially get 100's of backlinks with the above criteria created slowly over time with just a couple hours work or less up front. Outsource it and it's just 10 or 15 minutes of your time. Some of my thriving sites, like the one described here where I have made almost $400 a month for the past few months, this is the only method of backlink building I put effort into. And for that particular site discussed, I only did 2 submissions.

A 3rd party company, Article Marketing Automation, offers a network of sites with different IP addresses to automatically post content on. The tools make certain the content is unique and lets you create backlinks with a variety of anchor text, even with just 1 submission. You are allowed as many submissions, for as many sites as you want. Last I checked, if you sign up for Article Marketing Automation's free blog content service they are letting you try the blog content syndication service out for free.
