Trouble shooting a ZX1400, foremost start with the basics. These simple tests can work for any locomotive. All engines need three basic things to run fuel, spark and air. These simple things can cause your Kawasaki ZX14 ZX1400 to not start up or run poorly.

zx1400 race

foremost start off with the fuel remove the hose off the tank and make certain the fuel is flowing properly. Some bikes will have to turn the fuel selector to prime, not on, or fuel will not flow.

2009 zx 1400 for sale

Take a flashlight and Look down into the tank, is the fuel varnished or is there dirt in the tank? Older Kawasaki ZX14 ZZR1400s had a trouble with tanks rusting inside and would plug the screen up inside the tank. Fuel delivery may still be a problem but we will come back to that later.

zx1400 drag bikes on youtube

Next remove the spark plugs, you may need to remove the tank to reach them. Inspect every spark plug as you take them out. All the spark plugs should Look the same. If a plug looks white colored, that cylinder may be (lean) and not getting enough fuel.

zx1400 for sale

If you have a plug that looks wet and black, that cylinder may getting too much fuel (rich) or not sparking good. Remove all the spark plugs and snap the plugs back into their wires.

zx1400r kawasaki

Set the spark plugs on the engine so that they can ground themselves. Crank the bike over and watch the plugs for sparks, preferably somewhere dark. Make certain you Look at all the plugs to make certain they are all sparking. If one spark looks sick check the wire and plug, if old or worn replace them. If their is no spark the coil may be bad.If you have any test equipment such as an ohm meter, you can find out what the resistance reading should be for your bikes coils.

zx1400r motorcycle for sale

This way you will know for sure if the coils are o.k. If the ignition system looks fine move on to the carburetors. first, if the bike has not been maintained recently (a problem in itself) make certain the carbs are synchronized. To do this you need a vacuum gauge made for this. Remove the small rubber plug located between the carbs and the cylinder.

custom zx14

Attach the gauge and take the readings from each cylinder. Replace the caps when not measuring or it won't run right. Adjust the throttle screw or linkage for that carb until they all read close to one another. Refer back to inspecting the spark plugs. If one cylinder looked lean or rich check all hoses for cracks and air leaks. If the Kawasaki ZX1400 has not been run in awhile the carbs may be (gummed up). Remove the float bowl off the bottom of the carb.

custom zx14 seats designs

See in the bowl for dark varnish looking gas. If the fuel looks dark you will probably have to remove the pilot and main jets and carefully run a wire through the center hole to clean them out. Be careful to not bend the float as the height needs to be correct to run well also. Check that the small needle attached to the float between the pivot point, is moving up and down.

kawasaki zx 1400 parts

If it doesn't move smoothly the carb will not fill up with gas or will run low as your driving down the road.Make sure you check the battery also, if they become sick the ignition system won't have enough power to keep the bike running swimmingly. If you still haven't found anything make sure you valve lash has been checked at the correct mileage intervals. If not this can cause many problems with the way it runs.

kawasaki zx1400 forum

Also you can screw a compression gauge into the spark plug holes and check that they are within 5-10% of each other. If one is way down you have a serious problem either with the pistons, bore or valves. This should be a good start to finding a common problem with your Kawasaki ZX14 ZZR1400.

kawasaki vn1600 reviews

This was the beginning of Kawasaki making out of the box decisions that influenced their competitions. Rather than being a follower, Kawasaki choose to always be a leader in the developments taking place in the bike industry. While this was risky, it definitely gave them an edge over the competition.

In 1960, Kawasaki bought out Megero Motorcycles, who had been in the business since 1937. They took a brave move by offering every type of bike at the same type across the board. It was a scheme that would make or break them. It was a wise investment as they were able to steadily sell everything from a 50 model to the powerful twin 650CC as well as everything in between.

The models sold better and faster than

The Kawasaki KLF300, a motorbike with cruiser stylings, was first introduced in 1985 as the VS700. Kawasaki made this model to contend with the big American bikes.

kawasaki kvf 300 service manual

As Well having a lower price and being made in a other country, their were three major differences between the Japanese motorbike and it's American counter-part: the v-twin style locomotive was not air cooled and rather water cooled like a car; the engine and transmission were both built into the same case, and instead of being chain driven, the engine powered the back wheel with a drive shaft. Even with these differences and some would say because of them riders the US over started noticing this new, imported motorbike. People who couldn't justify paying the high prices but still wanted the good looks of the American cruiser no longer had to go without.

kawasaki klf300 4x4

In fact, those looking for a new bike that was easy on the pocketbook were no longer stuck with generic sports bikes or standard street bikes. Now they could have something that they always dreamed about; not just a grocery getter, but something that pleaded to be ridden on the open highways.

I would not be astonished that many relationships were downright ruined when it came to making a choice between spending quiet-time at home with a loved or hitting the open road. After seeing what happened to those who chose not to stay home, most riders learned it would be wise to take their significant with them.

While this credible didn't work for everybody, it surely made some people that much closer. Spending all day long together on a motorcycle can have that effect!Unfortunately, Intruders are not the biggest bike.
This, of course, means there is little storage place for one person's things, let alone two people's things. The gain of saddlebags, fork bags, and baggage racks can help remedy that problem by holding just enough items for two people out on a three-day weekend trip.
Remember the first time you rode your Kawasaki bike home from the dealer? Your first time on a bike, you were a little clumsy switching gears. The class you took was very helpful; after all, you didn't crash on your way home. But Valentino Rossi you weren't!

Kawasaki Bayou 250 Manual

Over time you became far more graceful on your street bike. You even started commuting to work on your bike. It wouldn't be long before you were hooked so much that you bought a few ATVs for your family members. When your brother retired, he got a cruiser and you two began riding together.

Taking more than just a passing interest in your bike, you have decided to learn how to be your bike's own mechanic. Tired of taking it to the dealer every time you needed to change a tire, give it a simple oil change or even replace the muffler, you have learned how to fix these things yourself.

This serves two purposes; it saves you costly repair bills but it also gets your closer to the love that can rival that of your wife's.When it was just your bike you were fixing, finding was relatively simple.

Kawasaki KLF 250 Service Manual

Now your brother trusts you and nobody else to fix his cruiser. Now you need help! Where, you wonder, can you find for any Kawasaki bike that won't break your bank and will be safe to use?

Kawasaki Workhorse Service Manual

Buying OEM is really the only safe and inexpensive way to go. What are OEM? OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturing.

Download the Kawasaki KLX250S Workshop Manual
When trouble-shoot a KLX250, first start with the basics. These simple trials can work for any engine. All engines need three basic things to run fuel, spark and air. These simple things can cause your Kawasaki KLX250 to not start up or run sick.

First start off with the fuel Withdraw the hose off the tank and make sure the fuel is flowing properly. Some motorcycles will have to turn the fuel selector to prime, not on, or fuel will not flow.

Got Kawasaki KLX250SF, Download this manual now
Take a flashlight and look down into the tank, is the fuel varnished or is there dirt in the tank? Older Kawasaki KLX250s had a trouble with tanks rusting inside and would plug the screen up inside the tank. Fuel delivery may still be a trouble but we will come back to that later.

Next Withdraw the spark plugs, you may need to Remove the tank to reach them. Inspect every spark plug as you take them out. All the spark plugs should look the same. If a plug looks white colored, that cylinder may be (lean) and not getting enough fuel.

If you have a plug that looks wet and black, that piston chamber may getting too much fuel (rich) or not sparking good. Withdraw all the spark plugs and snap the plugs back into their wires.

Set the spark plugs on the engine so that they can ground themselves. Crank the bike over and watch the plugs for sparks, rather somewhere dark. Make sure you look at all the plugs to make sure they are all sparking.

If one spark looks down check the wire and plug, if old or worn replace them. If their is no spark the coil may be bad.If you have any test equipment such as an ohm meter, you can find out what the resistance reading should be for your motorcycles coils.

This way you will know for sure if the coils are o.k. If the ignition system looks fine move on to the carburetors. First, if the bike has not been maintained recently (a problem in itself) make sure the carbs are synchronized. To do this you need a vacuum gauge made for this. Remove the small rubber plug located between the carbs and the cylinder.

Kawasaki KLX250 not starting - download this Service Manual
Attach the gauge and take the readings from each piston chamber. Replace the caps when not measuring or it won't run right. Correct the throttle screw or linkage for that carb until they all read close to one another. Refer back to inspecting the spark plugs. If one cylinder looked lean or rich check all hoses for cracks and air leaks. If the KLX250 has not been run in awhile the carbs may be blocked. Withdraw the float bowl off the bottom of the carb.

Look in the bowl for dark varnish looking gas. If the fuel looks dark you will probably have to Withdraw the pilot and main jets and cautiously run a wire through the center hole to clean them out. Be careful to not bend the float as the peak needs to be correct to run well Also. Check that the small needle attached to the float 'tween the pivot place, is moving up and down.

If it doesn't move smoothly the carb will not fill up with gas or will run low as your driving down the road. Make sure you check the battery Also, if they become down the ignition system won't have enough power to keep the bike running smoothly. If you still haven't found anything make sure you valve lash has been checked at the correct mileage intervals. If not this can cause many problems with the way it runs.

As Well you can screw a compression gauge into the spark plug holes and check that they are within 5% 10% of for each one other. If one is way down you have a serious problem either with the pistons, bore or valves. This should be a good start to finding a general problem with your Kawasaki KLX250.
When troubleshooting a KZ400, first start with the basics. These simple tests can work for any engine. All engines need three basic things to run fuel, spark and air. These simple things can cause your Kawasaki KZ400 to not start up or run poorly.

First start off with the fuel remove the hose off the tank and make sure the fuel is flowing properly. Some bikes will have to turn the fuel selector to prime, not on, or fuel will not flow.
If you enjoy riding, and you're enjoy of riding extends beyond high revving quick and furious crotch rockets, then you will find something great in the ease of the Kawasaki Vulcan 800

line-up. All areas of interest are there: for those who love traditionally styled motorcycles, the Classic is a great choice; for those who live on the highway and need a motorbike that echoes those sentiments, the Classic LT fits the bill nicely; for those who enjoy aggressive styling, big wheels, and a deep throaty sound, the Custom is king.Regardless of which one you choose, the ride and experience tells the same story. My enjoy Affair with the Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Custom...... began with a failed relationship, a broken evening, and tears streaming down my face.

The bike was my one place of solitude, and it was a recent acquisition at that. I remember looking back on my first ride with sorrow, as I felt the experience tainted by the circumstances that surrounded that fateful evening.I feel differently now. This motorbike has brought out some qualities in me that I never would have even fathomed when I bought it: courage, pride, and most of all, joy. Riding this motorbike is like your first kiss: the first twist of the throttle provides a rush that no other intoxication could ever match. Its aggressive styling is mated to a 903cc v-twin that provides plenty of go-juice, while the bike itself remains intimate and responsive.

You lean and the bike follows; you take a pothole and the bike forgives you. It's the best relationship you'll ever have, and all that it will ever ask in return is that you show it some enjoy every now and again. Reasons Why You Will enjoy the Vulcan TooIf the beautiful lines and tasteful chrome accents aren't enough for you, the sound the twin-pipes bellow out under acceleration may be the finishing touch. If that's not your forte, perhaps it's the relaxed maintenance schedule, lightweight design, or comfortable rider and passenger positions.

For most, I suspect, it will be the sheer dynamic the motorbike brings to the table. It feels safe and secure from the moment you hop on, and every time you find a tunnel you will find yourself blipping the throttle to hear the sweet symphony it sings- I dare you to try to resist the urge. Ultimately, it's in the ride that this bike truly beams. As beautiful as it is to look at, it is even more beautiful to pilot. In the end, that's what motorcycling is all about: enjoying the world around you in a far more intimate way than a car (even an expensive sports car) would ever allow. If that's not reason enough, hop on one and take it for a spin- you'll find your own reason to fall in love with the Vulcan.
The hot new bike: the all-new Kawasaki KX450F. We were lucky enough to show up and rip on the green team's baby. And here's our first impression.

Let's start with the new stuff, which is everything! Right off the stand, the new aluminum frame, black and green graphics, titanium head pipe, foot pegs and foot peg mounts stand out. These are the first things you'll notice on the showroom floor. Not to mention Kawasaki's first full-fledged 450cc four-stroke locomotive.

The aluminum frame is always the big news. But, for Kawasaki this isn't exactly fresh since they've had steel perimeter frames since 1990 and aluminum ones on their road bikes for some time now. And, it's safe to say their experience has paid off; we noticed nothing funky or bothersome when riding the new frame. When you can ride an aluminum-framed bike and not think about the frame, the mission has been accomplished.
2006 Kawasaki Kx450f Rear Right View

KX450F Service Manual

In the power department, Kawasaki is claiming their new 450 has more horsepower and useable torque than any bike in its class. While we won't know that for sure until shootout time, we can tell you the bike has plenty of grunt to lift the front wheel off the ground when you need it—even in the soft, deep loam of Competitive Edge. Like most 450s, the KX only gets quicker as the track packs in and traction becomes abundant. In fact, some of us decided shifting gears was a pain and we'd rather just ride around in 3rd gear to see if it would work. It did. And quite well actually. The KX450F pulled third gear even through tight corners and ruts, with only slight clutching for motivation.

Something interesting is missing from the KX450F's transmission 5th gear. The KX450F is a four-speed, close-ratio transmission system which was built that way because on this bike, no one needs fifth gear. As far as anything you'll encounter on a motocross track, they are right.

All-in-all, the Kawasaki KX450F is a welcome addition to a class that's suddenly becoming crowded. Finally, all of our favorite colors will be represented come shootout time. Stay tuned to upcoming issues of Dirt Rider for the first tests and shootouts to follow.

KX450F

Kawasaki-KX450F-2006 kx450f 2006-kx450f 2009-kawasaki-kx450f kx450f-08 kawasaki-kx450f-2006 kx450f-engine 2006-kawasaki-kx450 kawasaki-kx450f-top-speed kawasaki-kx450f-specs kawasaki-kx450f-service-manual kawasaki-kx450f-review kawasaki-kx450f-monster-energy kawasaki-kx450f-monster kawasaki-kx450f-manual kawasaki-kx450f-horsepower kawasaki-kx450f-graphics kawasaki-kx450f-for-sale kawasaki-kx450f-exhaust

The Kawasaki KDX200 handles wonderfully in the woods. It can outrun 250s, 400s, and 450s in the woods on this bike. It's easy enough for a child to ride, but has the potental to become a top notch hare-scrambler with a little adjustment . Such as a pipe, silencer, and reeds. The 6 speed transmissions are bulletproof and are very smooth. As is the clutch. . Stock tripple clamps are a little flimsy. The motor has a very broad powerband, but is lacking a little ability on the top end. It's happier in the mid-range region, so don't be expecting to win any motocross with it.

Kawasaki KDX 200 1989 1990 1991 1992 1993 1994 Service Manual
kdx-200-kawasaki kdx-kawasaki-200 200-kdx-kawasaki kawasaki-kdx-200 kawasaki-200-kdx 200-kawasaki-kdx kdx-200-kawasaki kdx-kawasaki-200 200-kdx-kawasaki kawasaki-kdx-200 kawasaki-200-kdx 200-kawasaki-kdx kdx-200-kawasaki kdx-kawasaki-200 200-kdx-kawasaki kawasaki-kdx-200 kawasaki-200-kdx 200-kawasaki-kdx kdx-200-kawasaki kdx-kawasaki-200 200-kdx-kawasaki kawasaki-kdx-200 kawasaki-200-kdx 200-kawasaki-kdx kdx-200-kawasaki kdx-kawasaki-200 200-kdx-kawasaki kawasaki-kdx-200 kawasaki-200-kdx 200-kawasaki-kdx

Email manuals@live.co.uk if any problems with download

The accurate fuel gauge is one along with the optional lower seat for shorter riders.

Braking is provided by a powerful dual piston front disc unit and, at the rear, a established and dependable foot operated drum brake.

Add a stylish and simple stainless steel exhaust system and centre stand as well as side stand and it's easy to see why an ER-5 is first choice for a variety of riders from learners and those new to motorcycling to couriers and commuters.

Look hard at Honda's CB500 and the Suzuki GS500, the Kawaski's direct competitors, too. While the ER-5 chassis is basic, with twin shocks and disc/drum brakes, the parallel twin engine isn't.

There's less power (50PS) than the similar GPZ500S, but reduced compression and raised flywheel weight make the engine more tractable at lower rpm. However, do not buy an ER-5 - or any other 500cc parallel twin - unless you get off on changing gear a lot. Do buy if you're vertically challenged, as the 17in wheels make the twin low, and it's also pleasantly light at 174kg dry.
Previous ER-5 owners will include older novices, dispatch riders and riding schools. Engine bars can be the giveaway, particularly if they've been scraped. Leave those bikes alone. Aim to buy from the sizeable number of older riders for whom a smooth parallel twin was their replacement for a long-dead British Vibrator.

You'll be able to spot a good honest bike a mile off as the ER-5's finish goes off badly if it's neglected. Engine noise, oil dribbles or smoking also mean that you should make an excuse and leave. Fancy the protection of a screen? Think CB500S, GPZ500S or fit one. There really are lots of ER-5s to choose from, so be choosy.

kawasaki z1000,kawasaki 1100,kawasaki zephyr,yamaha kawasaki,suzuki kawasaki,kawasaki er 5 twister

Email manuals@live.co.uk if any problems with download
