It's now four years since I made that all important new year's resolution to reduce my family's household waste, which unexpectedly resulted in the launch of The Rubbish Diet blog. As an ordinary housewife, pretty much minding my own business, I would never have guessed that I'd still be gabbing on about rubbish all these years later. But a passion was ignited and it was a start of an unexpected journey highlighting that as a society we really have to seriously rethink rubbish, whether that means businesses designing out waste or empowering householders to do more with the facilities that are available.

The most rewarding experience of all has been the feedback from those who have been inspired to think differently about rubbish and the new opportunities that have arisen to help individuals or to help support a bounty of worthwhile causes. Equally, I too have been inspired by the many friends and associates I have met along the way. I suppose The Rubbish Diet was the start of my awareness of how independent citizens and the public sector could effectively work together on matters of social change.

Using social-media to promote and progress projects that are close to my heart, my fingers are still never far from the keyboard. However, even though I might blog, write columns, do those little bits on the radio and perform a few strategic turns for whoever needs my help, I am still first and foremost a housewife and mother and regularly have to swap cyber antics for a whole kaboodle of domestic wotsits. So welcome to this little corner of cyberspace, which I hope will provide an insight into my multi-faceted world.

Please have a wander around the links above. I will aim to update the site as more news arises, but if you're interested specifically in waste or eco\social matters, please sign up to the blogs that are listed in the sidebar.

Thanks for your interest in this site and my work. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
