Tour Updates for May 2012- Change of seasons in Kakadu NP

Hello everyone who follows us on Facebook.
We have just moved into another season in Kakadu, called Yegge. This season stretches from around May until June and brings with it dry winds and cooler weather. Even though you may experience random showers whilst on tour, the days should mainly be dry with blue skies and less humidity around.
We did experience some major road closures earlier this year, which stopped us from visiting the Yurmikmik area for quite some time, including waterfalls like Boulder Creek, Motor Car Falls and Kurrundie Falls. However, these falls have all re-opened and we are back on track and able to follow our Green Season Itinerary again. You will be very excited to hear that we have just started to proper bush camp. This gives you the chance to experience camp oven cooking and sleeping in tents to enjoy Kakadu’s amazing night skies.
Just a quick note in regards to seasons and itineraries. We believe, it is wrong to advertise tours as “Dry Season Tours” until Jim Jim and Twin Falls have opened, as these falls are obviously the main attractions in all dry season itineraries. Hence, you won’t be able to book Dry Season tours with us until mid June (please refer to our booking button). Hopefully by then, Jim Jim and Twin will be open. If this is not the case, we will operate a mix of both seasons and we will always make sure you see the best of what Kakadu has to offer. Please contact us for any queries.

Welcome to our new website and our company blog.

We are Genda & Susie from Kakadu 4WD Safaris and we look forward to you sharing your Kakadu experiences with us.

Some exciting news, Gunlom Falls just opened, which means we will be visiting this spectacular waterfall from now on. Also, the dry weather allows us now to proper bush camp with camp fire cooking and sleeping under the stars in tents.
