Kingdoms of Amalur will feature "5 distinct regions, 4 playable races, and 3 class trees with 22 abilities per tree." The 4 playable races are the Almain (noble Humans) the Ljosalfar (Light Elves), the Dokkalfar (Dark Elves), and the Varani (nomadic Humans).
The 3 class (or ability) trees are Might, Finesse, and Sorcery; they correspond to the fighter, rogue, and mage classes respectively.
The player starts off as a "blank slate," waking up in a pile of corpses after returning from the dead.

The game will utilize a unique "destiny" system, whereby the player can invest in a skill-tree system to unlock various "destinies," which acts as the class system for the game. Combat works based on the timing of button presses, similar to the style of an action RPG, with occasional quicktime events like those in the God of War series. Lead combat designer Joe Quadara, however, emphasized that "twitch skill is only going to get you so far. Strategy and proper RPG playing is going to get you farther."38 Studios founder Curt Schilling said that the style of the game would be a marriage between God of War and Oblivion.

The Darkness II has gameplay that is mostly similar to the first game, but the sequel features a new tactic called "quad wielding". It allows lead character Jackie Estacado to use The Darkness while at the same time using firearms. There is more focus on the aspect of Darklings, with there now being only one primary Darkling which holds greater importance and is more involved in the storyline and who is useful in all situations; able to go to and lead Jackie to certain waypoints and show him important items during boss fights, and allow Jackie to use him in the same manner as "creeping dark" in the first game to go into hard-to-reach areas and kill enemies from across distances all the while looking through the Darkling's eyes. The Darkling will be able to interact with the environment by using items such as a worker drills to attack and torture Jackie's enemies and he will also be able to use standard weaponry such as pistols to attack or threaten them. Jackie can use the environment to his advantage, such as using car doors as shields and parking meters to eviscerate or impale enemies.Unlike in the first game, Jackie can use both his weaponry and The Darkness in public places. The Darkness only disappears while in the light or for story purposes.

Alan Wake is a story-driven action game in the psychological thriller genre, developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Microsoft Game Studios, released for the Xbox 360 video game console in 2010 and Microsoft Windows in early 2012. The scenario is set in the year 2070. Global warming has melted the Arctic ice cap, which has raised the global sea level so high that what used to be mountains are all that remains of land.

The game has three factions: The Eden Initiative (referred to as the 'Ecos'), The Global Trust (referred to as the 'Tycoons'), and the S.A.A.T. (referred to as the 'Tech'). Ecos are environmental and build sustainable cities but are inefficient and slow to expand. Tycoons are industrious and expand quickly, but have problems with pollution and dwindling resources. The Tech is a support faction available to the other two, and they are useful in researching the latest and most powerful technologies.

Prototype 2 is an upcoming video game set for release on April 24, 2012 in North America and April 27, 2012 in Europe.

It is currently under development by Canadian developer Radical Entertainment and is the sequel to 2009's Prototype. Like its original, the game is set to be published by Radical Entertainment's owner, Activision.

The game is set to feature a new protagonist, Sergeant James Heller, as he goes on his quest to destroy the Blacklight Virus once and for all. The story is also one of revenge, as Heller wants to kill Mercer after his family was killed in the outbreak of the Blacklight Virus. Set in an open world shown in a third-person view perspective. The game was announced at the 2010 Spike VGA Awards with the tagline "Murder your Maker"
