We are only 1 month and 23 days away from our Disney vacation and I just can't concentrate on anything else! I am supposed to be researching computer service orange county for a client and all I keep doing is going back to the WDW Community @ Lunch.com to read and post reviews!

How To Really Love A Child

Be there. Say yes as often as possible. Let them make lots of noise. If they’re crabby, put them in water. If they’re unlovable, love yourself.

Realize how important it is to be a child. Go to a movie theater in your pajamas. Read books out loud with joy. Invent pleasures together. Remember how really small they are. Giggle a lot. Surprise them. Say no when necessary.

Teach feelings. Heal your own inner child. Learn about parenting. Hug trees together. Make loving safe.

Bake a cake and eat it with no hands. Go find elephants and kiss them. Plan to build a rocketship. Imagine yourself magic. Make lots of forts with blankets. Reveal your own dreams.

Search out the positive. Keep the gleam in your eye. Encourage silly. Plant licorice in your garden. Open up. Stop yelling. Express your love. A lot.
Speak kindly. Paint their tennis shoes. Handle with caring.

My body is not perfect but I nurtured 3 babies and I'm proud! Too bad if we moms don't look perfect but every mark, every line, and every bit of skin represents our beautiful babies and what we have done for them.

Having a baby is no easy task, we are strong, we are brave, and we should be proud of ourselves.

Shopping for Baby Stuff

I have a baby shower to go to and shopping for a baby seems so foreign to me. I can't remember the last time I bought baby clothes - seems those days are over, unless of course it's for something like this.

On Tuesday I decided to look online first, thought I could find some unique personalized baby gifts without having to venture out. I'm glad I did this because we had a BLIZZARD yesterday!

Funny Road Trip Story

I HATE to fly! Whenever we head to Florida for our Disney vacation, we drive. I think that may need to change soon though, now that we have become Disney Vacation Club members and are planning on going to Disney 1-2 times a year! We have never had a bad experience driving, in fact, I have only ever had one bad experience driving while vacationing.

Back in 2001 my (then) husband and I went on a vacation with another couple. We went to San Diego but we also visited the La Jolla and Los Angeles areas as well. The other couple had a Ford F-150 and of course, right in the middle the San Diego Zoo area the check engine light went on! Talk about scary! I mean, being that far away from home is scary enough on it's own!

We managed to find a reputable San Diego auto repair place and got the truck fixed without incident. We used repairpal.com to find the best auto shop to take the vehicle. It's an awesome site - there are reviews of service stations available and that makes deciding where to go so much easier!

Thankfully the rest of the trip was pleasant!

Weight Loss With HCG

Interesting how those two things go together. Pregnancy and weight loss? Hahhaaa. Today CJ saw me checking out information regarding HCG and where to buy HCG online because I am seriously contemplation going this route with weight loss. He totally freaked; he thought I was pregnant! he freaked so bad, he blogged about me 'Googling HCG' on his blog!

I honestly don't know, I am so torn about this but I am so tired of being overweight I'm ready to try anything.

Life has been busy - what else is new? I swear the days are going by faster and faster with each passing year. I have been planning baby showers and bridal showers on the side - it's a fun gig. Some baby shower favors are the cutest!

I will also have been looking into this childrens franchise idea CJ has been tossing around lately. I already work from home but CJ is looking to start his own business, we'll see how this goes. We need to look deeper into the facts.

Family Help Books

I have been looking online for good family help books - not because my family is a mess or anything like that but because we are blended; Olivia is from a previous marriage and Jeff, my ex, is still very active in her life. CJ and I have the boys together; CJ and I are not married.

Sometimes I feel like there just needs to be more structure in this household - so many people are going in a million different directions! Self help books and family help books are great resources.

I am tired of the house projects we need to get done around here. We are such procrastinators. One thing we need to update is the home lighting in this place. I want nicer fixtures and better quality lights. We went with fluorescent lights when we remodeled our basement and they are economical but man, they are ugly!

Dealing With Colic

Thankfully none of my children had colic but I do know it isn't easy dealing with colic because a friend of mine recently had a baby (well, 4 months ago) and she has been dealing with a colicky baby since day 1. Cyndi has tried everything (or so she thought) to get baby Haydn to relax and rid him of colic. You know, newborns with gas is not fun!

A while back I had mentioned to her some information I had heard about a product called Colic Calm, a natural medicine to help with colic. I even asked my mother in law about this product because she is studying natural medicine and I often ask her for alternative treatments to certain aliments. She was very impressed with all the information available on the website. She agreed that this was a great alternative to use for baby indigestion - which, after reading about it, I am so glad my kiddos didn't have to go through that.

I passed the information along to Cyndi. I can't wait to see how things go!

Road Trips

I Dread This Time of Year

It's officially time to dig out the Winter clothes and then figure out who needs what. Usually Wyatt can wear most of Dante's clothes so that leaves us having to buy kids clothes for Olivia and Dante.

I am slacking big time. I have no motivation to go through the oodles of clothes need to go through. However, tomorrow Olivia has off from school and CJ is off so it's the perfect time to go shopping I think we'll just stick to boots, snow suits, gloves and hats for now and deal with the clothing issues later.

Teaching Children Different Languages

My super cool friend, Wendy, made a comment about teaching kids more than one language and teaching them to sign. This is definitely something I think is important and deem really valuable to our children. Let's face it, the USA is a 'melting pot' of so many cultures and languages, our children will almost HAVE to know other languages, just to survive. That's a sad fact but that's a topic for another time.

I've pondered teaching them myself, but sheesh, I am so lazy sometimes. I need to get my stuff together and prioritize! I have old text books from school, one is Spanish and one is French - I could look over those and then maybe teach the kids a bit of each language. I think my best bet is to look online for cheap used textbooks so I can find more of what I really need, rather than use college books. That definitely makes more sense.

Getting Over Sickness

Seems everyone here is finally over all the icky stuff they had. I still have a cough but I expect that to remain for a bit, it always does. CJ is back to work in full swing. I am back to work as well. In fact, I am trying to figure out the best ways to stay in contact with clients sides email. Something for when we need to contact them, I've been looking into hosted dialers recently so we'll see.

Weekends are usually quiet here - CJ is at work and the kids just play, watch tv and chill because that's what weekends are for! I am dong laundry and playing on Facebook. I really need to get something productive done though, I ave slacked enough. CJ's days off are Mondays and Tuesdays so I like for those days to be 'lighter' work wise. Although, he works part time on those days but at least he works from home!

Eating Healthy

With all this sickness going around I got to thinking that obviously eating healthy is best for my body. Eating healthy is also a good way to aid in weight loss, which, of course, I am trying to achieve. My issue? Eating healthy is expensive! I think it's so screwy! It's cheaper to eat junk foods than it is to eat foods that are good for you!

I have decided a garden is in order. I know Fall has just arrived but that gives me time to plan. What kind of foods do I want to grow? I know I want a vegetable garden and I am so totally getting one of those Ooze Tube Vegetable Drip Watering irrigation systems to make sure I don't over water or under water.

Hopefully this will help make healthy eating affordable and fun! Gardening was always a favorite past time of my mom's so I'm sure she won't mind helping me get started!

And the Sickness Has Begun

It's times like these when I wonder if I could truly handle another child - when they all get sick. It's like a domino effect. It starts with one and within less than a week another and then another. This time, it started with Olivia.

Jeff brought her to me Thursday morning, she was coughing and sneezing, which is typical for this time of year- In am convinced she has allergies because she is this way from September to May! However, she was also running a fever - only 100.3 but still, school will not allow children to arrive with a fever - totally makes sense. So, I had to keep her home from school. Coughing, sneezing, fever - off and on. She was acting fine though, no lethargy, no chills, no body aches, she was eating and drinking - everything seemed perfectly normal. That night her temperature went back up to 101.5 so I figured the next day would be no school again and a trip to the doctor.

Friday morning her temperature was 98.1 so I sent her to school but I made a doctor appointment for 2:20 pm because as long as she is in school until 1:30 pm it is considered a full day. I picked her up and off to the doctor we went. When we got there the receptionist asked if she had had a fever within the last 24 hours - I said yes, so she got a mask and off to an isolation waiting room we went. That was new - they've never done that before.

Once we got into the room, the nurse took her temperature and it was 102.1! I had no idea - she was fine that morning and she was acting completely fine on the way to the doctor's. So, fever, red throat, coughing, sneezing and I noticed her left eye looked red - they tested her for strep throat, which was negative. Turns out, she has an adenovirus infection - pharyngoconjunctival fever

It's weird because she acts absolutely fine! Her temperature went down to 100.1 last night, then back up to 102 in the middle of the night. This morning it was 99.3 so I am hoping by Monday this will be over with - for her anyway.

In the meantime, Dante had diarrhea last night and CJ came home feeling bad - said his lungs felt like they were filling up with fluid - but he was getting all that nasty mucus out so he didn't go to the doctor. So far, Dante seems better but now he and Wyatt are coughing. CJ seems the same - no worse, so that's good I guess. I am fine - as of now. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

We just booked our next Disney vacation for April 30th - May 8th and I couldn't be more excited - we'll be staying on site as Disney Vacation Club owners at Bay Lake Tower! Check out my Family Disney Vacations blog for more about that!

So, what does this have to do with Mother Nature? Well, I am a day late - I mean, according to The Cycles Page - which is what I use to track my period/fertility. I have already totally freaked out simply because I would be due around May 16th and ummm, that is just 8 days after returning home from our planned Disney vacation!

Not only that but I FINALLY convinced myself this is not the right time to have another baby. Do I still want one more? Yes, I do - but not now. Of course it figures that once I accept things and begin to move on, something like this happens.

I am NEVER late - in fact, I am usually a day early or right on time, like clockwork. I have myself so wound up I actually took a pregnancy test - which was negative. Okay, I know it's not too soon to test as I am a day late - so whats the deal? Why is the Red Dragon hiding?

This Maternal Feeling Sucks

I don't know. I started this blog because we were going to be journeying down the pregnancy trail, hoping for baby #4 - things have changed. We have a 3 bedroom house. Right now the boys share a room (which we've recently made bigger for them) but they still share. We have a huge attic we want to make into a bedroom, most likely for Olivia, as she is the oldest. At this point though, I think she is a bit too young to be on the 3rd floor by herself. Am I weird?

If we had another baby, we don't have a bedroom for the baby. The only option I see is remodeling the attic and putting the boys up there - our attic is HUGE so they'd have tons of space. Olivia and the new baby would have their own room. However, CJ thinks it's better if each child has a room to themselves and if we have the capability to do that, why have another child?

I am not sure how I feel about this. On one hand I agree. I mean, I'm 35 years old and I have 3 wonderful children, life is good. On the other hand, I really feel this strong maternal urge to have another baby, just one more. I hate feeling this way.
