Summer is sadly over. No more lazy afternoons at the pool, Wednesdays at the beach, or late night movies for the kids. School started over a week ago, and for the first and last time I have 3 kids in the same school. You can see their nervous smiles as we headed out the door to get there.

Vacation

Way back at the beginning of August we took a week of to be together as a family. Just the 6 of us spent all day every day together for 9 whole days. It was glorious to break out of my routine and get out and see new things. Of course with 4 kids it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. There was crying, sickness, over-tired temper tantrums, and never ending hunger, but all in all it was good fun. We started out the week in San Francisco. We had never been, and wanted to check it out for ourselves.

After the drive back home and a day to rest we headed south to good old San Diego. We just love it there.

They were getting ready to say goodbye to Ryan who is going on a 2 year mission to Argentina. In fact he’s already gone as I write this because it took me so long to get this blog post up. It was a gorgeous night at their magnificent home. Everything about it is beautiful, and so is the family that lives in it.

This was my 3rd session with Katie and her parents. It has been so fun to watch her grow and change since first at 3 months old, then at 6 months. Now she is a whole year old, and as cute as can be. Happy Birthday! I hope the party a big success.

11 Months

I’m pretty sure this is my favorite picture of Noah. I knew it the moment I heard the sound of the shutter. I quickly looked to see if I was right, and I smiled a big happy Mommy smile. I love it for so many reasons. He’s my little angel. I haven’t really said this publicly, but I had 3 miscarriages before I had him. I wasn’t sure if he was even possible, and that makes him even more special. Tim and I both felt like something was missing in our family, and now we are whole. We are complete in a way I cannot describe, but I feel it deep down inside. That little face is the face I spend every single day, and late nights with. Those gorgeous blue eyes and soft chubby cheeks just plain fill me with happiness. In less than 2 weeks he’ll be a whole year old. He’ll start to walk and be more interested in playing than being held by me. I’ve seen it happen 3 times with my other children so I’m holding on tight to this one, and cherishing every moment.

Jamie and I have been planning this session since March or April. Her schedule is crazy busy, but we were finally able to meet this past weekend for her Senior Portrait session. The lighting that night was magical. I just love every photo. It was too hard to narrow down which ones to show.

Little Bella is just perfect. I got to meet her at 2 weeks old in her beautiful home. You may remember her mother’s maternity session at the beach right before she was born.

4 Weeks Old

Little AJ was 4 weeks old, and just as sleepy as a one week old. He made my job easy, and oh so fun.

Jennifer and Bob grew up here in California loving the beach and all that it has to offer. They came back to visit for a couple of weeks this summer, and in between visits with family and Disneyland they squeezed in a photo session. Not only was it at the beach which they love, but it was their first family photos with 2 year old little Kenna who joined their family when she was just 7 months old.

Jennifer and Bob, your family was so fun to meet, and beautiful in every way. I hope you’re adjusted back to life at home, and school is a blast this year for the kids.

Cousins

I am on vacation this week, and enjoying some time with my family. We have a lot planned, so I hope I don’t need a vacation to recover from my vacation. It is always such a relief for me to get out and do something different from my usual routine. I will not miss the tedious chores I have to do every day. What I will miss is spending nearly every day with my cute little nieces and nephews. If you know me, or have followed my blog you’ll know that Isaac was born 11 days after Noah. One afternoon I volunteered to watch him while my sister got some much needed time off. I have a lot of respect for parents of twins. I don’t know how they do it. After a couple of hours I was exhausted.

I had to add one with my little Noah and his cousin. They LOVED these soccer balls. Maybe there’s a future for them on the soccer field.
