After receiving my first proof print, I have made the necessary changes and uploaded files for revision.

I’ll be getting the revised print later this week and hopefully this will be the final cut, and I can go ahead and begin shipping orders.

Look for a new order page on this blog once the book is complete. I will be encouraging everyone to either purchase the book from me directly, or to go to your private owned local bookstore to have them order a copy for you. (Tell them to ord4er a few extra for the sheves too!

There is a problem with a few of the colors being slightly off, which is bugging me just enough to re-submit, and also, I did not account for the seam on the inner margins so the words are a bit too close to the inside of the page, so I need to readjust that, which means I will have to re-size & re-format all of the text, but its really not that big of a deal. Now that I see the finished product, I have a few other ideas that might ’spice it up a bit’. I’ll be making the fixes today and hopefully will be shipping out the pre-sale orders within 2 weeks.

I seem to keep running into people who have some written project laying around that they can’t get published or don’t know where to start. It happened again last night at a small gathering. Once Ibycus Publishing is launched, I will be open to helping other writers get their works out there, to whatever degree. I can publish your work or help you get your own company going. I can do layouts and graphic design for a small fee. You probably want to hire your own editor, lol. Needless to say, the sky is the limit (or not) about what is possible. I’ll be very flexible and reasonable with me fees, because it is important for me to help people share their art with the world.

I had promised a May release for Oktavius, but unfortunately, May has come and gone and the book is not complete. Fortunately, I got a great job in May as a foreman for Axel Landscapes and we have been very busy installing some amazing residential landscapes. UNfortunately, this is a very demanding job physically and mentally, and we are working all over the Twin Cities metro area, so it has left me little spare time. What spare time I did have in May was spent volunteering on a weekly column for the Anoka County Historical Society which was published in the Anoka County Union Newspaper. I’ve posted links to these articles on the blog for those who are interested. I’m am also in the midst of a child custody battle and have had to make several trips out to Michigan for hearings. Enough excuses— onto the update.

The good news is: I have managed to complete all illustrations for the book: test printed, adjusted, tweaked, re-adjusted, and finalized. The text is edited, and miraculously I discovered a wonderful new twist to the end of this story that really ‘completes the cycle’, so to speak.

The bad news is: I have realized that I do not have the time, education, or experience to complete the layout per Lightning Source specifications, so I have finally decided to ‘hire-out’ this aspect of the project. I am most interested in working closely with someone local to get this done in the most efficient manner. I have posted an ad to Craigslist and will hopefully be conducting interviews asap.

Included were a number of sketches I had made and colored to represent some of the forms interacting with the principle of force.  This one shows a triad of energy- the active, passive, and neutralizing forces, depicted as the 3 primary colors: red blue, and yellow.  According to the law of vibrations, there is a process of equalization, or blending which results in the formation of a new set of colors: orange, green, and purple.

This is just one example of how there is an interaction between force and form, and just one representation of various levels of vibration.  These colors are also commonly attributed to the energies within the body, as depicted by the chakras of Yoga.

The commentary for Journey of Oktavius that is included with the pre-sale offer will include much more information and illustrations such as these.  There are still 60/100 copies available.

A brief update on the book’s progress– I was generally impressed with the quality of the first run of test prints, although several illustrations will have to be re-created in higher resolution for optimal print quality.  You would think I would have learned my lesson by now- nope!  Still learning.  The layout is about 90% complete, just waiting for the image files to be inserted, the barcode, and ISBN number.  Next step will be uploading files to Lightning Source for proof printing.
