Being in the Affiliate marketing business is not that hard now with the internet at your disposable. It is much easier now compared to the days when people have to make use of the telephones and other mediums of information just to get the latest updates on the way their program is coming along.

So with technology at hand, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this…

Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments in the network. As far as the marketer is concerned there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track on.

The site design has to be revised. The marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase sign ups from visitors. It can also help in the affiliate’s conversion rates.

That done, it is time to submit the affiliate program to directories that lists affiliate programs. These directories are means to attract people in joining your affiliate program. A sure way of promoting the affiliate program.

Time to track down the sales you are getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately. There are phone orders and mails to track down. See if they are new clients checking the products out. Noting down the contact information that might be a viable source in the future.

There are lots of resources to sort out. Ads, banners, button ads and sample recommendations to give out because the marketer knows that this is one way of ensuring more sales. Best to stay visible and accessible too.

The affiliate marketer remembered that there are questions to answer from the visitors. This has to be done quickly. Nothing can turn off a customer than an unanswered email.

To prove that the affiliate is working effectively and efficiently, inquiries would have to be paid more attention on. Nobody wants to be ignored and customers are not always the most patient of all people. Quick answer that should appear professional yet friendly too.

In the process of doing all the necessities, the marketer is logged on to a chat room where he or she interacts with other affiliates and those under that same program. This is where they can discuss things on how to best promote their products.

There are things to be learned and it is a continuous process. Sharing tips and advices is a good way of showing support. There may be others out there wanting to join and may be enticed by the discussion that is going on. There is no harm in assuming what opportunities ahead.

The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are some new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketer’s publication to be distributed to the old and new customers.

These same publications are also an important tool in keeping up to date with the newly introduced products. The marketer has put up a sale and promotion that customers may want to know about. Besides, they have to keep up with the deadline of these sales written in the publications.

It is that time to show some appreciation to those who have helped the marketer in the promotions and sale increase. Nothing like mentioning the persons, their sites and the process they have done that made everything worked.

Of course, this will be published in the newsletters. Among the more important information that have been written already.

The marketer still has time to write out recommendations to those who want credible sources for the products being promoted. There is also time to post some comments on how to be a successful affiliate marketer on a site where there are lots of wannabees.

Two objectives done at the same time. The marketer gets to promote the product as well as the program they are in. Who knows, someone may be inclined to join.

Time flies. Missed lunch but is quite contented with the tasks done. Bed time….

Ok, so this may not be all done in a day. But then, this gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a dedicated one that is, spends the marketing day.

Let’s pick an affiliate program ok? Please read…

Ask questions first before you join an affiliate program. Do a little research about the choices of program that you intend to join into. Get some answers because they will be the deciding point of what you will be achieving later on.

Will it cost you anything to join? Most affiliate programs being offered today are absolutely free of charge. So why settle for those that charge you some dollars before joining.

When do they issue the commission checks? Every program is different. Some issue their checks once a month, every quarter, etc. Select the one that is suited to your payment time choice. Many affiliate programs are setting a minimum earned commission amount that an affiliate must meet or exceed in order for their checks to be issued.

What is the hit per sale ratio? This is the average number of hits to a banner or text link it takes to generate a sale based on all affiliate statistics. This factor is extremely important because this will tell you how much traffic you must generate before you can earn a commission from the sale.

How are referrals from an affiliate’s site tracked and for how long do they remain in the system? You need to be confident on the program enough to track those people you refer from your site. This is the only way that you can credit for a sale. The period of time that those people stay in the system is also important. This is because some visitors do not buy initially but may want to return later to make the purchase. Know if you will still get credit for the sale if it is done some months from a certain day.

What are the kinds of affiliate stats available? Your choice of affiliate program should be capable of offering detailed stats. They should be available online anytime you decide to check them out. Constantly checking your individual stats is important to know how many impressions, hits and sales are already generated from your site. Impressions are the number of times the banner or text link was viewed by a visitor of your site. A hit is the one clicking on the banner or text links.

Does the affiliate program also pay for the hits and impressions besides the commissions on sales? It is important that impressions and hits are also paid, as this will add to the earnings you get from the sales commission. This is especially important if the program you are in offers low sales to be able to hit ratio.

Who is the online retailer? Find out whom you are doing business with to know if it is really a solid company. Know the products they are selling and the average amount they are achieving. The more you know about the retailer offering you the affiliate program, the easier it will be for you to know if that program is really for you and your site.

Is the affiliate a one tier or two tier program? A single tier program pays you only for the business you yourself have generated. A two tier program pays you for the business, plus it also pays you a commission on the on the sales generated by any affiliate you sponsor in your program. Some two-tier programs are even paying small fees on each new affiliate you sponsor. More like a recruitment fee.

Lastly, what is the amount of commission paid? 5% – 20% is the commission paid by most programs. .01% – .05% is the amount paid for each hit. If you find a program that also pays for impressions, the amount paid is not much at all. As you can see from the figures, you will now understand why the average sales amount and hit to sale ratio is important.

These are just some of the questions that needed answering first before you enter into an affiliate program. You should be familiar with the many important aspects that your chosen program should have before incorporating them into your website. Try to ask your affiliate program choices these questions. These can help you select the right program for you site from among the many available.

1. Instead of meeting people face to face, they spend way too much time on the computer.

Networking online is great. However, it can never take the place of meeting face-to-face or having a conversation over the phone.
Sending emails are easy, but you should be up with the ease of this technology. Never try to break things off over email. This will just result in useless and never-ending arguments.
Try to compliment online networking activities with face-to-face and phone meetings.

2. Spending way too much time on the technical side of your business.

Affiliate marketers have the tendency to do all the tasks themselves. They update contents on WebPages, create new auto responders and create new HTML pages for new products instead of farming things out to others.
It takes them quite a long time to accomplish all this. Let it go. Why not hire a technician expert to maintain my website.

3. Not delegating the administrative tasks.

Updating documents, making them look pretty, writing content and writing sales copy for new information products are just some of the tasks that affiliates do. Sometimes they have to rush off and write something quickly because they sat on it for too long and the deadline is nearly up.
This kind of person is better off hiring a virtual assistant or copywriter to do all this stuff for them.

4. Spinning my wheels targeting the wrong market.

Ever wondered why the ones affiliates are focusing about is not giving them the results they expected? They are simply working on the wrong side of the market.
They do not really listening to the problem’s of their market. In the end, the solution being given does not solve anything.
Sometimes, the marketer has to really listen to what the clients are telling them about the problem they are experiencing.

5. Creating a bunch of cool information products all at once.

Just because you can bang out more than two special reports in a weekend does not mean you have the manpower or energy to promote them all at the same time.
In order to make sales on an information product, you really need to market them. Until you do that, these products are going to just sit on your website, look pretty and go musty.
Focus on one product for at least three months and use other affiliates to help promote each new product.

6. Attending networking events that were not producing results.

While networking is about building relationships, it should also lead to some quality contacts.
Most of the times, networking events affiliates go to is comprised of entrepreneurs looking for business. These people do not yet have the will it takes to succeed in their filed.
Stick with a networking event for no more than two consecutive events, analyze the results, then move on.
Also, attend more networking events that puts you in touch with your target audience.

7. Not spending enough on educating themselves.

If an affiliate is a solo entrepreneur, it seem so easy to forget that they have to invest some time in taking courses that can help them learn how to do things better.
Continuously educating oneself is a must. Doing this will put you in touch with how to do things better in your business, as well as meeting some exceptional people and trainers.
In addition to this, you will notice some new changes in how well your sales are performing.
Try to set aside at least 10% of all business income in a savings account to spend on educational materials.

There are many a Wordpress theme.  How to choose one that will enhance the quality of your links and the propensity of people to buy is a task you need to undertake if you want to Make money online.

·    The next feature you want to look for is the ability to add widgets to your word press theme.  One of the great features of the word press software is the availability of add on scripts called widgets.  These are extremely easy to upload.  But, if your theme can’t handle widgets easily, it’s not worth it, even if it has a nice look.

·    You want your word press theme to load quickly.  If people have to wait seconds to see your site, they will click the back button before you have the chance to make your case.  If you are using a free theme, try loading someone else’s site that uses the theme before you take the trouble to put it on your own site.  If the CSS is compressed, this can speed page load time.

·    Is the theme SEO optimized?  It doesn’t matter how good your content is if the search engines can’t find it.  Some things to check for as far as SEO compatible themes include an emphasis on content rather than graphics, have HTML validation, and should display post extracts on archive and category pages.

·    Make sure your word press theme has a search capability.  This is a basic item, but there are still some themes that don’t have the compatibility for search.

·    Is the theme already overused?  If too many marketers are already using the theme, your web site might have a “me too” feel.

·    If you plan to have ads on your site – either banner ads or Adsense – make sure that the theme supports them in its design.

·    Finally, can you grow with the design?  As your site develops, will you be able to keep the same look and feel?  You don’t want to surprise existing viewers with a new theme without a strategic marketing reason for it.

Choose wisely when selecting a word press theme.  How you Make money off your site may depend on the theme you pick.

Do you want to do a Google rank check?  Google’s page rank is a patented algorithm.  Google considers more than half a billion variables when determining your rank on the search results.

No one person knows what all of these variables are – not even the person who oversees the code.  So, anyone claiming to be a Google rank check authority should be viewed with caution.

Still, there are some things we do know about how page rank works.

Google flat out says that pages they believe are important get a higher page rank than others.  Pages with higher rank tend to appear higher in the search results, though you will see page rank 5 pages occasionally ranking higher than page rank 7 pages for a specific search.

Google also sees the links on a page acting as a “vote” for other pages.  So, if a highly ranked page links to your site, you get more “juice” out of it than when a friend with no page rank links to your site.

Most experts agree that backlinks from .gov and .edu sites to have higher link juice than other top level domains because they are restricted to not for profit sites.

One way to get .edu links is to take out online ads on college newspaper sites.

But, any links from PR 2 or higher sites can help your page rank.  One way to get links is to post comments on with decent page rank.  But make sure that Google “follows” the links on the page first.  Some webmasters set their sites up so that you don’t get any link juice from your posts.  You can do this by downloading free software on the internet.

Other ideas for increasing page rank include:

·    Join forums and post a link back to your website in your signature.  Every time you make a post, you’ll get link juice.

·    Submit your site to directories.  Each directory which lists you will give you more of a chance of being listed higher in Google’s search results.

·    Add an ezine to your site.  Not only will this allow you to keep up with the people who visit your site, but you can also post information about your ezine to ezine directories.

·    Publish articles on the article sites.  You can drive traffic to your sites this way.  But, high PR article sites also give you link juice.

·    Create a sitemap on your website.  This lets Google know how to index your page.

·    Link to other pages within your web site.  Putting links to the internal pages within the web site allows you to increase your link juice.

·    Continue building pages within your site.  Every page you create and link back to your home page increases the strength of your home page’s PR.

A Google rank check will allow you to know how your site is faring compared to similar sites.

I’m back!… I had a friend marriage last week so I took the weekend off.  Here is this week reading

Over the years we’ve heard a lot about how to give your web site more value. At first everyone said to put lots of interesting information on your site and you would see a stampede of visitors come your way.

Then we were told to dress our sites and blogs up with logos, graphics, and photos. That helped to bring traffic, too.

Finally we were told to give your sites all the right keywords to bring in the utmost in search engine traffic. By now, that technique has been used just about everywhere it can be.

Now, the Internet is moving to a different phase. Increasingly, top sites are using video to increase their value and bring in lots of traffic. Think about the last time you logged into Amazon or CNN. You very likely were greeted with a professional-looking video that started up on the page and relayed a movie preview or news report.

In the past, you would have to hire a video production house to create, process, host, and post your video, all at a cost of thousands of dollars. But not any more.

Now you can have that same kind of professional video on your site or blog for a price that fits any budget. It’s relatively easy to create using low-cost equipment commonly sold for home use.

We live in the television age, when just about everybody would rather look at a video that SHOWS them how to do something rather than have to read about it or listen to someone tell them about
it.

A video gives you much higher response and a far better informed customer base. When people really understand what you are offering and what you can do for them, making sales (often at a higher price) is far easier.
