Tablet Competition: Dell to Release New Tablet in Late 2012

Tablets have been booming in popularity for quite some time now, with companies rolling out their tablets at ever increasing speed. While tablets certainly aren’t the newest thing around, as they’ve been on the radar since 2010, it seems that 2012 is definitely becoming the year of tablet competition.

Dell Jumps in the Ring

One company that is finally throwing their hat into the ring and getting into the tablet game is Dell, Inc. Dell has not released a single tablet during the massive tablet boom, but has finally upped their game and announced that they will release their first one ever shortly, just in time for Holiday 2012.

Beyond PCs

Dell has long been a bigwig when it comes to PCs, but as more users than ever are turning to tablets instead of traditional desktops, Dell had to do something to get in the game. According to leaders at Dell, they wanted to really do their research and ensure that they had a quality product that customers would really respond to. As they saw with many of their competitors, putting out a hastily thrown together device would not only fail to draw in consumers, but would also go against everything that the company stands for.

So, they waited. They researched and developed, then researched some more and redeveloped. They saw other companies trying to compete with the Apple iPad and failing miserably. They knew that if they wanted to go toe-to-toe with the giant of tablets, they needed to give it some time and see what the mistakes were. Seeing how customers reacted to the many tablets on the market was eye-opening for Dell and helped them to work harder to hone their product, according to leaders at the company.

Windows 8 or Android?

While they would not comment on whether or not they would use Microsoft’s Windows 8 or Google Inc.’s Android as the operating system for this new tablet, they alluded to the fact that both are options they are weighing.

Leaders stressed that what differentiates the Dell tablet from the iPad is that it will take into account the needs of business users, something they believe that Apple has not necessarily done. Company leaders explained in a press conference in September of 2012 that they will work at ensuring their tablet is compatible with the business marketplace.

Look for the Dell tablet to hit the shelves soon. Could it possibly compete against the iPad or the other tablets out there that customers are responding to? Only time will tell.

Installing Ubuntu for your PC

Ubuntu, one of the worlds’s most preferred open source operating system was released around 7 years back. With its own unique features and User Interface, this OS has made few users leave the rest and have only Ubuntu installed on their computers. And, if you want to be one of those and install Ubuntu on your computer, the following tutorial may prove useful.

Ubuntu can be installed on any computer either from a CD or from a flash drive. Let’s check them out one-by-one.

Installing from a CD:

1. It’s easier to install Ubuntu from a CD than from a flash drive. Begin by restarting your machine after you insert your Ubuntu CD in the optical drive.
2. As it boots, simply press the key which is allotted to boot your optical drive. In some system it may be the first Function key, the escape or the twelfth function key.
3. Now, here’s a trick – once your CD loads for installation, you can see some small logos in the screen. Press any key and a new window will pop up asking you to specify your preferred language. Once specified, the installer will throw you certain options that ask you whether you want to check out Ubuntu without installing, install now and check defects on the disc.
4. If you have a memory higher than 512 MB, you can select the option Check out Ubuntu without installing. This allows you to perform some tasks like surfing the web and check emails as you try the Ubuntu.
5. If you have a memory of 256 MB or less, it is suggested that you select the option - Install!
6. Once you click the install button, the launcher starts immediately. Now, this is where you will arrive if you would have not pressed any keys at the logo screen.
7. The installer as usual, will ask for your preferred language and will scan the system for compatibility. It even scans for an available internet connection either through wireless or through a LAN as it updates its package before installation. If you don’t have an internet connection, you can still configure them later.
8. Next, it asks you to specify whether you want to install Ubuntu alongside other Operating Systems, replace the current version of your OS or create a new partition and proceed towards installation.
9. Select the first option if you wish to have a multiple boot option for your computer; and if you have adequate knowledge about drive partitioning and formatting, you can select any one from the other two options.
10. That was the last stage of installer configuration. Post this, the installation begins and as it installs it asks you to personalize your settings which includes specifying the keyboard layout, username registration, selecting a display picture and importing previous account information.
11. The installation continues, but now it shows you a slideshow of all the Ubuntu features until it completes the installation.
12. Based on the speed of your computer, the installation may last from anywhere between half to one hour and once it’s over, the system reboots and you will have your Ubuntu installed!

Installing from a USB drive:

It is recommended that you use a flash drive with 4 GB or higher capacity and further make sure that before you install Ubuntu on your flash drive, backup every data present in it. Using any USB installer software, transfer the bootable Ubuntu installer file on your flash drive.

1. Once done, all you need to do is attach the flash drive to any of the recognized USB ports and boot them just like you did with the optical disc.
2. The installer will launch and the rest of the process is very much the same.

Once the installation completes and the system reboots, you will be able to use Ubuntu and all its features.

Social Automation: Yes or No?

Let me preface this by saying that I believe social media to be one of the best venues available for promoting and marketing my contracting business. I enjoy the back-and-forth exchanges it creates and appreciate the opportunity it provides for honest communication with my past, present and future clients and colleagues.

That being said, I have to admit that occasionally I just don't have time to keep up with my Twitter posts, Facebook updates and blogs the way I would like. It's my busy season right now and I'm working with many Brooklyn real estate agencies to complete work on several houses at once. In fact, I haven’t even gotten around to setting up my FB business page! So, when my schedule is full and deadlines are approaching I rely on social media automation to keep my clients in the loop.

Social media automation is a lifesaver on occasion. I can write several Wordpress blog posts on a Sunday night and schedule them to appear throughout the week. My status updates can be set to post throughout the day or even at night. Social automation saves me a ton of time without sacrificing the frequency of my posts.

Automation also increases the number of clients I can reach at a single time. This is New York, after all; not everyone has a 9-5 job. By setting updates to post at midnight, I can reach swing shift factory workers just sitting down to dinner. By publishing a blog post at 4 a.m. my posts can be seen by the Metro drivers having their morning coffee. Since I'm not awake at these times, automation does the job for me.

I learned early on in my social media experiments that the more I post, the more recognizable I am. People began to recognize my name and the name of my company. Social media automation has me well on my way to being a well-known East Hampton, NY contractor.

For all the good that comes from social automation, there are drawbacks as well. I often regret my lack of participation. Yes, I wrote the blog posts that appear throughout the day. However, I may have written them last night, last Tuesday or last April. They do not always reflect my current views. This feels somehow disingenuous.

Tweets in particular give me pause. A scheduled Twitter update will include a footnote, usually something along the lines of "via HootSuite", a popular Twitter automation tool. This shows my followers that it is a scheduled Tweet rather than a spontaneous diatribe from the recesses of my own mind. The implied lack of a personal touch bothers me.

For larger businesses, this can be extremely evident for followers, which is why they should always have an in-house expert, or perhaps a consulting firm to manage their own accounts. Simply put, you must have a voice in your industry, even when it comes to social – A robotic automation mechanism may not be the best route for this.

I have thought long and hard about social media automation and have come to the conclusion that it is an incredibly useful tool when used sparingly. I will, of course, still take every opportunity to speak directly to my clients. However, when work and timing make that impossible, I will continue to use social media automation in an effort to reach out to everyone. Automated content is better than no content at all.

Blogger Templates is maybe one of the aspect that you're visitors are looking up to. I observed that most of the answers that we want is now on blog so that's why blogging is growing. Many blogger and blogs created in every second.

As an internet user, one of the aspect that I look up to is the template. They are many reason why we should also focus on templates sometimes. If you're using Blogger platform search for a blogger template and if you're a wordpress user, search for a wordpress theme user. Since I'm using on blogger platform, I'm more focus on Blogger Templates

Here are some reason why bloggers should also focused on theme.

1. Niche - Find your niche and look for the blogger templates that fit to your niche. Example, you niche is game of course you need a blogger templates that theme of the template is game instead using a pinkish template.

2. Loading Performance - there are some blogger templates that performs not so good in terms of loading your page because of the image, javascript.

I recently post about copyrighted post especially on how to complain copyrighted blogs. I posted that someone copied my blog and no credits from me. And to stop that kind of blog, I reported to Google and was happy that the post they copied was deleted.

Since then, I want to get some way that if someone copied my post it will automatically credit to my post and good thing I found it. Now, let me share to you the codes on how to add copyright notice to copied blog posts.

Seeing your blog post copied by other blogs without knowing or credentials that you originally posted the blog post is very annoying and irritating. You made your original content but someone copied your post. I hate those copyrighted blogs and it need to be stop and be deleted.

For me, it's fine to get someone ideas of other blogs. Actually, everytime I post I would really search on it and make my original content because Google love to crawl orignal content. The most important of it to make your original content. Maybe it's fine with me if someone copied your blog post with your credentials that you own the original content.

Lately, I check my backlinks of my blog and one blog got my attention why I have backlinks on that blog since I never put a comments or even try to be a guest post. It got my attention since the blog post title was the same as mine. So, I checked the blog and was shocked that he/she copied my whole blog post including the blog post title and even the image. I rechecked his/her other blog post and I discovered my that he copied 26 blog posts with the same content, positions of image, links within the article without the credits to the owners.

So, I really disappointed that they are some bloggers just copied the blog post with my original content.Actually, it's not the first time I saw copyrighted blog post from my blogs. I ask to myself, why would not try to create their own blog posts? But before taking action, I look for some contact information like Contact Us Page, email, or any contact information of the infringing blog to delete the blog post he/she copied on my blog but since I can't find any contact information of that blog owner I decided to report the blog to Google.

Now, let me teach you how to complaint copyrighted blogger blogs?

Log-in to your Google (Gmail) account
Go here
Under "What Google product does your request relate to?", choose Blogger/Blogspot.
In next column, specify the nature of your request.
Choose "I have found content that may violate my copyright".
In next column, choose whether you're copyright owner or authorized to act on owner's behalf.
Read the Important notice and after reading, check Yes under "I have read the above and wish to proceed".
Choose your infringing work, choose Text.
Again read the following instructions before continue.
After reading instructions, click on "this form" written in last line of instructions.
Under "Complainant's information", provide your correct information.
Under "Your Copyrighted Work":

Under "Where can we see an authorized example of the work?", mention your copyright URL (one per line) like http://yourblog.blogspot.com/2012/02/post.html (in case of Blogger)
Describe about your copyrighted work under "Identify and describe the copyrighted work".

Under "Allegedly Infringing Material",
Under "Sworn Statements", check both fields.
Put your signature and read the "Account Disabling" section.

You will receive a confirmation email and Blogger team will reply to you within 2-3 business days.
During this time process, Blogger team will ask owner of infringing URLs owner remove infringement contents otherwise Google may remove the whole blog from search and even can suspend the site as they mentioned in "Account Disabling" section.

Note: Before complaining to Blogger team, contact the infringing blog to delete the blog post copied.

Facebook Timeline was first implement to profile page that was launched September 2011. Facebook Timeline for profile page was announced by the Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg.

After several couple of months, Facebook Timeline was again implemented to Facebook Group but just the top of the group page which is the cover photo. I don't know if some of the Facebook group doing so. But one of the Facebook Group that I belong changed the cover photo. As a default, some of the members are featured on the top.

Facebook Timeline will be implemented to all Facebook Pages effective March 30, 2011. Facebook awared all Facebook page owners of this update. All Facebook Pages will be automatically convert to the new Facebook Timeline for Pages
