This was my second shot at a brand redo for Jennings and I tried to make it a little more Social Media. The name, email, phone number, and title are all placed within white boxes that resemble web forms. The people shapes are humanistic but almost look like their floating. Kind of a metaphor for how people use the web.

At Jennings Public Relations & Advertisingwe’re gettin ready to rebrand with a new name and new logo. We’re dropping Public Relations & Advertising and adding the tagline Social Media Marketing. This is the first of many logo mock ups.

Since Jennings is made of mostly young people, I wanted to keep the logo fresh, bright, and playful. I also tried to incorporate a elements from the previous logo (people and/or a speech bubble).

I also started on a site mockup for the company. I really like the clean, straight forward, easy to read layout. I’d really like to incorporate this into the company.

Rock Wives and Devil Signs - A collaborative blog for two women in the Kansas City metro area who review rock concerts. They were looking for a logo to put on t-shirts for Rockfest on May 30th. They came to me with a loose idea of what they wanted - devil horns sign and a big fat wedding ring. I really loved their idea and am looking forward to reading their blog which will soon be located here: Rock Wives and Devil Signs.com.

Working with the client, we approached the project from two different points. One grunge, one realistic. The project is in it’s final stages and they’re preferring the more realistic looking logo.

As always, any comments are appreciated.

A free desktop background featuring a ninja, bamboo, a tiger, and the word kung fu.

I’ve seen a lot of 3d lettering recently so I decided to give it a shot. I downloaded a copy of Blender, went through a few tutorials, and made some text. Blender was a real frustrating program and I got a lot of errors at first. I’m still not real good at it but I find a way to incorporate it into my work on occasion.

Just in case you’re wondering, there’s no real meaning behind this background. I was just trying to make something look kind of cool. I bought the photos on I stock and used some brushes I found around town.

Excerpt from Urban Dictionary

Dataful
Often used in academic research centers in superficial and sarcastic contexts.
Dee Dee: Boy, that strategic analysis report was really dataful.
Martyn: Wasn’t it, though? I thought it highly impactful.

This is a fictional logo for a fictional idea, dataful. Annie from Jennings was coming up for some titles for a carrier hotel blog. One of the better one’s was called dataful, but the client didn’t like it, but I was immediately inspired and had to create a nice little logo for it.

In February 2000, a couple left home in Switzerland to run around the world…alone. A small crowd of friends and family gathered in the morning hours in the shadows of the Matterhorn in Sion, Switzerland. They were there to send Serge and Nicole Roetheli off with great fanfare to begin what would be an epic journey. With Nicole as his sole crew support, following him on a motorcycle towing a small trailer, Serge was setting off to run over 25,000 miles, on six continents and through 37 countries.

The place where I work was commissioned to do the web site design for the reality film, Beyond the Epic Run. It was a cool opportunity and is still kind of in the works, but so is the film. This is just a preview of what it could probably look like.
