A small town prosecuting attorney called his first witness to the stand in a trial-a grandmotherly, elderly woman. He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?"

She responded, "Yes, I do know you Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a young boy. And frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs.

You think you're a rising big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you."

The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Williams, do you know the defense attorney?"

She again replied, "Why, yes I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. I used to baby-sit him for his parents. And he, too, has been a real disappointment to me. He's lazy, bigoted, he has a drinking problem. The man can't build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the shoddiest in the entire state. Yes, I know him."

At this point, the judge rapped the courtroom to silence and called both counselors to the bench. In a very quiet voice, he said with menace, "If either of you asks her if she knows me, you'll be in jail within 3 minutes!"

Cheerleading Competition Outcome

Well I thought I would let You know the outcome of my granddaughters cheerleading competition on Sunday.

She did an awesome job and the overall team came in third place, she was not very happy but this is good for her team, to work on their practice and try their best to get better at it. But heck their only in the first grade so this experience is great for them I believe.

She did get her ribbon and trophy and mommy bought her some roses, she is my little cheerleader. I told my daughter just looking at the pictures makes me sad, because she is getting sooooooo big, and I can remember when I was rocking her, and feeding her, lol!

I know they all grow up, but it sure rips at Nana's heart strings to watch it go too fast. I love you so much Alizah Neve Marie, and you did such an awesome job Sunday and Nana & Papa are so very proud of you!

After she got home, she just had to do her famous pose for mommy, lol! I love it!

Jenny Craig For Men Only

A guy calls Jenny Craig and orders their 5-day, 10 lb. weight loss program. The next day, there's a knock on the door and there stands before him a voluptuous, athletic, 19 year old babe dressed in nothing but a pair of Nike running shoes and a sign around her neck.

She introduces herself as a representative of the weight loss company.
The sign reads, 'If you can catch me, you can have me.'
Without a second thought, he takes off after her.

A few miles later huffing and puffing, he finally gives up.
The same girl shows up for the next four days and the same thing happens.

On the fifth day, he weighs himself and is delighted to find he has lost 10 lbs. as promised. So, he calls the company and orders their 5-day/20 pound program.

The next day there's a knock at the door and there stands the most
stunning, beautiful, sexy woman he has ever seen in his entire life.
She is wearing nothing but Reebok running shoes and a sign around her neck that reads, 'If you catch me you can have me'.

Well, he's out the door after her like a shot. This girl is in excellent shape and he does his best, but no such luck. So for the next four days, the same routine happens with him gradually getting in better and better shape.

Much to his delight on the fifth day when he weighs himself,
he discovers that he has lost another 20 lbs. as promised.
He decides to go for broke and calls the company to order the 7-day/50
pound program. 'Are you sure?' asks the representative on the phone.
'This is our most rigorous program.' 'Absolutely,' he replies, 'I haven't felt this good in years.'

The next day there's a knock at the door and when he opens it he finds
a huge muscular guy standing there wearing nothing but pink running
shoes and a sign around his neck that reads, 'If I catch you, you're mine.'

He lost a total of 63 pounds that week!!

Cheer Leading Competition Weekend......

This weekend, on Sunday my granddaughter the little cheerleader goes to her cheer leading competition, I am so excited for her. She did very good last year and her team got an award & she got a red ribbon, she was a bit upset that they did not get first place last year.

But I explained to her that she still got a ribbon and her team came in 2nd place, and the whole team received a trophy as well, so I told her that she should be grateful for that. She was still not happy with my explanation, but she came to realize she was going to have to live with the outcome. So I am praying that this year she takes whatever outcome happens she will be a good sport about it, but I am also praying that they get another trophy & ribbon this year as well... wish us luck!!

A Little Medical Update About Whats Going On With Me Lately.....

Well I had another MRI done on my lower back about 2 weeks ago, I did not want to mention anything until I got my results back. Well I found out my MRI results last week sometime, it came back with a diagnosis of multi-levels of spine disease.

So my appointment with the spinal Dr. is the 30th of this month. I would just like to ask if you would pray that they can find a way to ease my pain (besides pain pills), as well as a way to help me with the spinal disease, whatever it is they do for something like this.

And if you would also just please say a small prayer for healing. I am not going to let this get me down. I have been going through this for years now, and if anything, it has made me stronger. So I am good, I am just curious what they will do now, lol! Heck I have been through everything else so what is next? lol! Aw heck just surprise me...lol!

Anyway I just wanted to keep you posted, and as soon as I can I will let you know what he has to say when I see him on the 30th. Thank you all so very much and I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed day!

Well, distribution has begun…. You guessed it 'IN GOD WE TRUST' IS GONE!!!

If ever there was a reason to boycott something, THIS IS IT!!!! This simple action will make a strong statement. Everyone can help….... Refuse to accept these coins when they are handed to you.

I received one from the Post Office as change and I asked for a dollar bill instead. The lady just smiled and said 'way to go', so she had already heard about the public being outraged about this.

Everyone who does this could help, if one person does it and passes the word on, it can help out…... our world is in enough trouble without this too!!!!!

DO NOT ACCEPT THE NEW DOLLAR COINS AS CHANGE

Together we can do our best as TRUE Americans to force them out of circulation….

Outhouse

Ma was in the kitchen fiddling around when she hollers out, "Pa! You need to go out and fix the outhouse!"

Pa replies, "There ain't nuthin wrong with the outhouse."

Ma yells back, "Yes there is, now git out there and fix it."

So Pa mosies out to the outhouse, looks around and yells back, "Ma! There ain't nuthin wrong with the outhouse!"

"Ma replies, "Stick yur head in the hole!"

Pa yells back, "I ain't stickin my head in that hole!

"Ma says, "Ya have to stick yur head in the hole to see what to fix."

So with that, Pa sticks his head in the hole, looks around and yells back, "Ma! There ain't nuthin wrong with this outhouse!"

Ma hollers back, "Now take your head out of the hole!"

Pa proceeds to pull his head out of the hole, then starts yelling, "Ma! Help! My beard is stuck in the cracks in the toilet seat!"

To which Ma replies, "Hurts, don't it?!"

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.
Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.

The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.
My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.

The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know, Then the
sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.
My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.

Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.
A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.

"What are you doing?" I asked without fear,
"Come in this moment, it's freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!"
For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..

To the window that danced with a warm fire's light
Then he sighed and he said "Its really all right,
I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night."
"It's my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.

No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at 'Pearl on a day in December,
Then he sighed, "That's a Christmas 'Gram always remembers."
My dad stood his watch in the jungles of 'Nam',
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.

I've not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile.
Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white, and blue... an American flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.

I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..
Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall.

"So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I'll be all right."
"But isn't there something I can do, at the least,
"Give you money," I asked, "or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you've done,
For being away from your wife and your son."

Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
"Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us."

1) Goals for good grades

By setting achievable academic goals you can boost your child's confidence. Reward their success with support. If you can get the ball rolling on this, this will improve your children's chances for scholarships and college admission.

2) Converse at dinner

Dinner is a time to bond as a family. You can use this valuable time to discuss topics that will help you connect with your children. Some goal setting conversations include:
• The most challenging or exciting part of their day
• Items they accomplished for that day
• What they want to be when they grow up
• Goals for the coming weeks

3) Eat right

Carbohydrates: Try to eat more whole-grain foods such as oatmeal and brown rice. Whole-grains contain more fiber than other carbohydrates and improve heart health by lowering cholesterol.

Protein: Eating more lean protein such as chicken breast, turkey, and fish such as salmon can also improve one's health. Studies show that protein is an important molecule that will help your body recover. This will improve daily energy limits.

Vegetables: Try to eat more dark green vegetables because they include powerful antioxidants that fight cancer-causing agents.

4) Drink more water

Did you know that many people suffer from chronic dehydration? One of the best ways to improve health and cognitive ability is simply to drink more water. People should be drinking water every day. Doctors recommend at least half our body weight of water in ounces a day. That means if you weigh 150 pounds, you should be drinking 75 ounces a day minimum.

5) Turn of the TV and read a favorite book

In the United States, statistics show that the average person watches three to four hours of television a day. And in a 65 - year life, the average person spends 9 years glued to the television! If your family is watching too much television, reading a book can be a great way to disconnect. Having your children read books makes school and college much easier, and ultimately will make them more successful.

Whatever your top resolutions may be, it is important to define how to maintain a resolution through the next 360 or so days. Setting up a strategic plan to achieve your goals is critical to success. Hunter was 4 years old and was staying with his grandfather for a few days. He'd been playing outside with the other kids, when he came into the house and asked, 'Grandpa, what's that called when two people sleep in the same bedroom and one is on top of the other?'

His Grandpa was a little taken aback, but he decided to tell him the truth. 'Well, Hunter, it's called sexual intercourse.’

‘Oh,’ Little Hunter said, 'OK,' and went back outside to play with the other kids.

A few minutes later he came back in and said angrily, 'Grandpa, it isn't called sexual intercourse. It's called Bunk Beds. And Jimmy’s mom wants to talk to you.'

How To Wash A Cat......

1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl...

2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.

3. In one smooth movement put the cat in the toilet and close the lid. You may need to stand on the lid.

4. At this point the cat will self-agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this!

5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a 'Power-Wash' and 'Rinse'.

6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.

7. Stand well back, behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift the lid.

8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.

9. Both the toilet and the cat will be sparkling clean.

If you ever testify in court, you might wish you could have been as sharp as this policeman. He was being cross-examined by a defense attorney during a felony trial. The lawyer was trying to undermine the police officer's credibility .....

Q: 'Officer --- did you see my client fleeing the scene?'

A: 'No sir. But I subsequently observed a person matching the description of the offender, running several blocks away.'

Q: 'Officer -- who provided this description?'

A: 'The officer who responded to the scene.'

Q: 'A fellow officer provided the description of this so-called offender. Do you trust your fellow officers?'

A: 'Yes, sir. With my life.'

Q: 'With your life? Let me ask you this then officer. Do you have a room where you change your clothes in preparation for your daily duties?'

A: 'Yes sir, we do!'

Q: 'And do you have a locker in the room?'

A: 'Yes, sir, ... I do.'

Q: 'And do you have a lock on your locker?'

A: 'Yes, sir.'

Q: 'Now, ... Why is it, officer, if you trust your fellow officers with your life, you find it necessary to lock your locker in a room you share with these same officers?'

A: 'You see, sir -- we share the building with the court complex, and sometimes lawyers have been known to walk through that room.'

The courtroom EXPLODED with laughter, and a prompt recess was called. The officer on the stand has been nominated for this year's 'Best Comeback' line -- and we think he'll win.
