Can I tell you a quick story?

Early in our marriage, my wife and I got deeply into credit card debt. (I’m talking tens of thousands of dollars in debt at 18% interest) We had a combined annual income of just under $30,000 and couldn’t pay our monthly bills.

We had to charge electric bills, food and other necessities on our credit cards because we were so far off budget due to the debt. When we made a $800 payment to the credit card, about $650 of it went directly to interest payment. We did the math: making the minimum monthly payment (which was growing!), it would take almost 70 years to pay off.

Things weren’t looking good.

Then, something happened: I made $12.95.

Ten years ago a $12.95 order came through a secure order form at my website. It was for a small information product that I had put together which taught how to earn affiliate commissions with X.com (which later became Paypal).

I had to manually process that order on a credit card machine that I used for a small gift shop I owned in my home town. When the order came in, I hand typed the numbers and expiration date and then “batched” out the order at the end of the day.

The memory of my wife and I dancing in the small living room of our small home over that $12.95 order is still vivid in my mind. We were so excited! I had generated a sale completely online. It wasn’t much money, but it was a start.

Paula was a few months pregnant with our soon to be firstborn son. My hope was to get this Internet business up and running so she could quit teaching and stay home as a full-time mom.

Little did I know at the time how dramatically our lives would change as a result of that first $12.95.

I stepped out on faith, sold my retail store and went “full-time” as an internet marketer. That was ten years ago this month. That’s when I launched ProfitsVault.com. That $12.95 turned into a six-figure income my first full year in business. And that six-figure income has grown to numbers so far beyond my expectation that I still have trouble believing our good fortune.

Paula, by the way, resigned as a teacher and has been a full-time mom ever since. She’s in her fifth year as Jacob’s homeschool teacher, and loving (almost) every minute of it.

I’ve been blessed. Like it, don’t like it … God has been good to me. During the past ten years the Lord has not only blessed us with a lot of income, but with some WONDERFUL friends that have come into our lives as a result of this business.

We have no debt now. Our home is paid for. Our vehicles are paid for. We travel a lot, do a lot of mission work and help people around the world. Thank God!

Ten years later, our lives are much different. That’s what we’re celebrating this week … not just ten years online, but the result of those ten years: freedom from debt, flexibility to do what we want.

That’s our story.

I hope it encourages, inspires and challenges you to create your own story!

Let me give you a nugget of truth to hold onto that may help…

Leading up to this ten year milestone, many people have asked me the question: what do you do differently now than you did back then?

With all that’s changed (I certainly don’t hand key in credit card numbers anymore :-), much of what I do has remained the same. When Armand Morin interviewed me back in 2003, I explained the process that I had been using for three years at that point. Seven years later, I’m still using it…

1. Create an offer.

2. Mention it to my subscribers and lists.

3. Invite affiliates and partners to promote it.

While there are a lot of variables - and, to be sure, many of those variables have morphed into new things - the core foundation that my business is built on is unchanged.

I share that because one of the things I’m convinced of is this: the reason most people fail in this business is because they abandon their foundation and attempt to try “every new thing” that comes along.

Sure, there is a time to experiment. There is a time to tweak. There is a time to try new things and fine-tune old things.

My challenge to you is this: keep things simple. Find something that generates revenue and then duplicate it. I’m a big believer in this advice that I regularly pass on…

*** Strip everything down to as FEW steps as possible to get the job done well. ***

You want to do the MINIMUM amount of activities as you can in order to achieve the result you want. Everything else is a distraction. Everything else is taking away time from the things you started this business to free yourself up to do!

I’d rather be playing tennis or serving on the foreign mission field than experimenting with some new “idea of the week”.

Another question I get asked a lot is this: what “mark” have you left on Internet Marketing during the past ten years.

Two things comes to mind:

The first is “changed lives”. I keep a copy of every testimonial that I receive. These are personal to me. These mean a lot to me. When I hear success stories and see the lives of others changed in a positive way as a result of interacting with me in some way, I’m humbled and touched.

It’s exciting to see single moms be able to provide for their family. It’s exciting to see overworked dads quit the corporate job to work from home and spend time with their family. It’s exciting to see people desperately in debt pay it all off.

It’s exciting to hear of people dancing in their living rooms because they made their first of many sales to come.

While it pales in comparison, the other thing that comes to mind in terms of a “mark” left by me is this: birthing the PLR industry.

In 2003 I made up the term “PLR” (Private label rights) while working with Ryan Deiss on a project. It begin with my “Products In The Rough” package and later that year morphed into the first PLR membership site of its kind, Nicheology.com

From there, it has exploded into a huge chunk of the internet marketing revenue.

So, it’s only natural that to mark my ten year anniversary of Profits Vault that I would celebrate by releasing a PLR package. On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, visit ProfitsVault.com for details on this package of mainly unreleased products, reports, mini-courses and articles written or co-written by me.

And, during the next 10 days, you’ll also be receiving free stuff as my way of “giving back” to everyone who has played a part in my own success either as a subscriber, customer, affiliate, partner, friend, mentor or otherwise.

We’ll start right now.

I’ve put together a package of three ezine articles that I personally wrote which you may have at no cost to you … and I’m including PLR licensing to the articles. You’ll find that they can easily be used to promote a variety of information products.

You can download them at…

Did you know that other people “warm up” your customers for you with their “big product launches”?

And, did you further know, that a huge opportunity for you to create sales for YOUR product or a product you promote as an affiliate can be the result?

If, that is, you “borrow” the buzz that other people are generating.

Imagine this scenario…

Mr. Marketer creates a new $2,000 product. He “launches” it with his friends. Everyone on the forums is talking about it. Every email sent out within the marketplace has something to say about it. Bloggers are raving. The whole industry is buzzing about the new launch.

The average conversion rate is 2%. And that’s not on $2,000 products. But, let’s assume that Mr. Marketer is the best in the biz. And he can generate something obscene like 25% conversion rate on a $2,000 offer (which, by the way, ain’t likely to happen).

IF that were to happen, the flipside is this: 75% DON’T BUY.

In other words, for every 100 visitors to the “launch” site, 75 of them walk away without buying.

Were they uninterested? If that’s the case, they likely wouldn’t have visited the site in the first place.

In the majority of the cases, they $2,000 price tag was out of their reach. Not in the budget. Don’t have the money. Been there, done that … didn’t have the cash to buy the t-shirt!

So, what can we learn from this?

We can learn…

* These 75 out of every 100 who don’t buy are probably interested to some degree.

* These 75 out of every 100 have heard all of the buzz and have been “presold” on the premise of the product.

* These 75 out of every 100 are strong candidates to buy a lower-priced, related alternative.

That’s where YOU come into the picture.

You “borrow” the buzz that’s been generated for the big product being launched by talked about by everyone as you promote a lower-priced, related alternative!

Here’s how you do it…

1. Look for high-dollar launches in your market.

The first step is to keep your eye on the pulse of your market. Whenever a major new product is being launched, get busy. You’ll usually know days, if not weeks, in advance because that’s how launches work: they do a lot of “pre” build-up work to get people salivating for the eventual launch. Keep your eyes out for anything new in the works.

2. Promote a low-cost alternative.

It doesn’t matter if you write a quick 10-15 page report, promote your own existing product that is related or grab an affiliate link to some other existing product or service. It doesn’t really matter WHERE you obtain this lower-priced alternative. The important thing is that you find one. It needs to be related to the topic of the big product being launched. It can be related either (a) by teaching a similar concept, or (b) teaching a portion of the big product’s concept.

3. Write a mailing that explains the two options.

You’ll want to write a mailing to send to your subscribers or to post at your blog. This mailing needs to contain three important elements…

- Content that presells. Share some meaty nuggets related to the offer you are ultimately going to promote to set the table.

- A small blurb about big launch with your link. Mention the “major” launch briefly. Describe it’s benefits and use an affiliate link of yours to point to the offer. Mention that it’s only drawback is “price”. Express that many people can’t afford it.

- A stronger promotion for your option. Then, really hit home with this “lower-priced, related alternative”. Let them know the benefits are similar at a fraction of the cost. Be sure to point out that it’s priced for everyone — especially those who feel “left out” of the big budget launch because they can’t afford it.

Then, it’s just a matter of getting that mailing out to your subscribers.

Let’s look at what you have in place as a result of this strategy…

* You have two promotions: a minor one for the same “major” launch everyone else is promoting, and a “major” one for the lower-priced, related alternative.

* You have “borrowed buzz”. Everyone in the marketplace is warming up prospects with all of their “talk” about the importance of the subject matter of the “big product launch”. They are primed and ready to buy … something!

* You have a spike in sales coming.

This is a wonderful strategy for getting extra sales.

Remember, there are always a whole lot more people who DON’T buy the product being offered in the “launch”, than those who do! You’ve got a huge pool of prospects in the 75-98% of people who don’t buy the $2,000 offer. Many of them WILL buy a lower-priced, related alternative.

So, the only thing left for you to do is get started.

And if you’ve like a shortcut, let me show you a quick way to do it TODAY.

You have almost certainly seen that Product Launch Formula 3.0 (PLF3) has launched this week. Everyone is talking about it. While there are a lot of different strategies and ideas involved in a “launch”, the backbone is the same…

*** Other people send you the majority of your traffic.

It’s obviously a very *HOT* topic right now. People are scrambling to pay BIG BUCKS for the course.

But…

Do you think everyone can afford it?

What about the tens of thousands of internet marketers who can’t afford it, but who ARE INTERESTED in the subject?

What a shame to let them sit by without getting any sales from them!

But, don’t worry — you CAN get sales from them! Here’s how…

You offer them something for PENNIES on the dollar that provides the same end result: other people sending them traffic for their products and services!

A few days ago I announced a resale rights offer for my SalesArmySecrets.com course.

All the details are at http://www.SalesArmySecrets.com/licenses.html

Due to a LOT of “things to do” regarding a mission trip to Poland that I’ll be taking in about a week, I haven’t had time to promote the licenses like I need to.

So, there are still licenses available for YOU to grab in order to sell a low-cost alternative to the high-dollar “launch” product that everyone is jabbering about.

***BUT IT GETS BETTER — FREE PLR to $20 Report! ***

I wrote a report several months ago which I briefly made available to one of my membership sites. It’s entitled “How To Get R.I.C.H. With Your Own Affiliate Program”.

(It was pulled after a month and is no longer available anywhere.)

The report is 21 meaty pages in itself, but it also strongly promotes the Sales Army Secrets course at the end.

When you order one of the remaining licenses for Sales Army Secrets, I’m going to give you (no cost!) a free PLR license to the special report!

You can sell the report for $20, give it away, do whatever you want with it (as long as you don’t misrepresent it or mention me in reference to it)…

…while using the endorsement at the close of the report to promote YOUR COPY of Sales Army Secrets!

It’s a ready-made marketing report to get people to buy Sales Army Secrets from you! You can sell Sales Army Secrets for $97 per order and keep 100% of every sale!

Here’s what you need to do…

1. Order the Sales Army Secrets resale rights license at http://www.SalesArmySecrets.com/licenses.html

2. Register and open a ticket at my support center at http://www.Infoprofitshare.com and provide my staff with a copy of your receipt.

Within 24 hours someone will send you the download information for this special Free PLR offer.

That’s it!

Get one while it lasts…
http://www.SalesArmySecrets.com/licenses.html

There’s only ONE catch…

This special offer is for the next 3 days only. On Friday, July 2nd at 10PM CDT, I’m shutting down the license offer and this Free PLR offer. They will no longer be available. Officially “retired” at that point.

Grab yours now: http://www.SalesArmySecrets.com/licenses.html

Then you can quickly “borrow the buzz” of those promoting PLF3!

“What do you do for a living?”

The internet marketing lifestyle is golden. The freedom and flexibility that comes with success in your internet business is the real value in this “job”.

It’s also what eludes 95% of those who attempt to start an internet business.

What I want to do in this lesson is explain two core steps for making a lot of money on the Internet.

But first, let me explain the basic formula for making money online (or offline for that matter).

To make money you need an offer and a buyer.

That’s all you need. You need to offer something for sale and you need someone to buy it. That’s the formula. It doesn’t matter what kind of business you’re in, that’s how revenue is generated. You need a transaction to take place.

Now, let’s look at two core steps that are involved…

1. FIND SOMETHING THAT WORKS TO GENERATE INCOME. Whether you’re promoting an affiliate link, selling your own infoproducts, hosting auctions, flipping websites, generate ad clicks or any of a dozen other ways to make money, you need to find something that works to generate income. (NOTE: As we will look at below, this can be ANY amount of income … even $1.00!)

2. REPEAT IT ENOUGH TIMES TO REACH YOUR SALES GOAL. Take your sales goal and divide it by your profit per transaction and you’ll get the number of customers you’ll need in order to reach the income level you are interested in. Don’t make this more complicated than it needs to be. What you need to aim at is simple: duplication. Once you make money – ANY amount of money, even $1.00 – it’s simply a matter of duplicating that process over and over again.

SIDEBAR: When I first starting an internet business back in 1999 something interesting happened to me. I made my first sale online which was for a whopping $12.95 (barely enough to buy a pizza!) Heck, I had to hand key in the order on the credit card machine that I used for my sports card shop because I didn’t have an online order processor. But I remember dancing with my wife in the bedroom of our small house. Why? Because I realized even then the soundness of the steps I’m explaining to you today. I made $12.95 … now all I had to do was repeat that over and over again to reach the income level I desired.

My first full year I made over $100,000 selling those low-cost products.

I found something that worked to generate income. I repeated it enough times to reach my sales goal. I connected an offer and a buyer. I got transactions. Ten years later I’m still operating by that same strategy.

Now let’s talk about YOU.

Let’s look at some quick models of income generation to see how this works. Let’s assume that your goal is to make $1,000,000 (one million dollars) during the next 12 months. Let’s see how you can do this…

1. The $1.00 Way.

There was a well known news story a while back about a guy who sold one million pixels of advertising on his website at $1.00 each. The result was a whopping one million dollars in revenue. While this is the most difficult way to do it (simply because you need to find more customers than the average person can find), it is possible. The principle is the same: find something that works to generate income and repeat it enough times to reach the goal.

2. Ad Sites That Generate $10.00 Per Day.

Another option is to create a content site that generates income through clicks through one of the popular advertising networks such as Google Adsense®. If you setup a site that generates just $10.00 per day in revenue in one year you’d make $3,650. How would you apply the strategy we’ve talked about today? You’d setup 274 of these ad sites for different niches in order to generate the one million dollars based on $10.00 per day for each of them.

3. Membership Site That Earns $5,000 Per Month.

What about a membership site? The beauty of membership sites is this: a customer pays you money month after month for as long as they remain an active member. You need LESS customers to make a similar amount of money. So, if you have a membership site that earns $5,000 per month it will yield $60,000 per year. Again, what’s the practice? You’d need 17 membership sites in order to generate one million dollars in the next year with similar numbers.

4. An eClass That Earns $25,000 Per Month.

Offering a 4-week eclass with personalized coaching at $997-$1997 per student enrollment is another option. Obviously, the higher the cost, the less customers you’ll need to find. If you have an eClass that pulls in $25,000 per month, it would yield $300,000 per year. Just FOUR eClasses with these results would tip the one million dollar mark quite nicely.

5. A Product Launch That Pulls In $500,000.

Let’s suppose you create a great product, get a bunch of great partners lined up to promote it and pull off a great launch that yields $500,000 in revenue. Principle at work? Repeat it just TWICE and you’ve a cool million dollars coming in.

And these are just a few of the options that are available to you.

No matter what you’re price point (and, as a general rule it IS easier to find less customers who spend more money than it is to find more customers who spend less money) the way to make money is the same in all regards:

You need an offer and a buyer.

You need to find something that works to generate revenue and then repeat it enough times to reach your sales goal.

That’s how you make money.

Now, there is a RIGHT way to do this and a WRONG way to do this. There are some GOOD decisions to be made and some BAD decisions to be made. There are IMPORTANT steps to take in the process and there are TIME/MONEY WASTING steps to take in the process.

If you need some personal, hand-holding from a ten year full-time veteran, this is your chance to make sure you get it all right. For the FINAL TIME I will be offering my popular Six-Figure Formula eclass at http://www.SixFigureFormula.com I will be permanently “retiring” it after the current class and it will not be offered again.

If you’d like me to personally help you create a plan to build an internet business, then drop by for all the details at http://www.SixFigureFormula.com There are ONLY 50 SPOTS AVAILABLE and this will be the last time I do the class. Join me today.

1) He didn’t ask me for a report or ebook or physical book that teaches how to hit a forehand.

2) He didn’t ask me for a DVD that SHOWS him how to hit a forehand.

3) He didn’t ask me for a new tennis racquet or accessory to help him hit a forehand.

4) He didn’t ask me for a seminar or group clinic to encourage him to hit a forehand.

What did he ask?

He asked ME to show HIM how HE can hit a forehand.

That’s huge.

Why? Because it’s PERSONAL and CUSTOM-TAILORED to HIS SPECIFIC SITUATION.

A book can explain the process. A DVD can visualize the process. A piece of equipment can complement the process. A group seminar can encourage the process.

-> But what these things cannot do is answer an individual’s question about an individual’s attempt to apply the content.

Only personalized feedback can explain how the individual on the other side can make it work for their unique situation.

Only personalized feedback examines the details specific to one person and applies the fundamentals in a way that fits with that one person.

Why is that important to YOU? How does this all make money for YOUR BUSINESS? It’s simple.

          *** Offer One-On-One Coaching ***

When you offer coaching, people will buy and they’ll even PAY EXTRA. Why?

For a whole bunch of reasons…

They want personal access and attention.

They want answers to their questions.

They need help when they get stuck.

They are afraid of failing.

They want to minimize their risk.

They need affirmation.

They are looking for feedback.

They desire a voice of wisdom.

They want to maximize their chance of success.

Bottom line: they want someone to help them make it work for them.

Whether it’s learning to hit a forehand or building a website or setting up a home-school environment, people want someone they can communicate with who’ll help them make the information work for them.

That’s where you come in.

Whatever your field of expertise is, offer personalized coaching. There are three basic ways to do this…

1. Answer questions. Simply offer a coaching program where you allow clients to ask you questions about a topic and they pay you a monthly fee for this access.

2. Build on curriculum. With this option you’d use a curriculum (Example: an ebook you’ve written or purchase licensing to sell) as the basis of your coaching. Create short assignments to complete and allow coaching clients to ask questions about the content of the curriculum as well as assistance in completing the homework.

3. Start an eclass. Another coaching possibility you have at your disposal is to put together a 4-6 week “eclass”. An “eclass” is a time restricted, interactive, curriculum-driven course of study on a specialized topic. Click here for more details.

With any of these options, you can easily charge $297 - $2997 per month … and people will pay these premium prices because they are getting the much wanted interaction with someone who can help them see results.

That’s how you dramatically increase your profit. Instead of selling $17 ebooks you can sell $1700 eclasses! It would take 100 sales of a $17 ebook to equal 1 sale of a $1700 eclass. Which do you think is easiest to find … 1 customer or 100 customers?

If you’d like more information on starting your own high-profit eclass, visit http://www.WorkshopAtHome.com DISCLAIMER: My Workshop At Home eclass is being “retired” after the initial 50 enrollment spots have been taken. Visit the site now to see if any remain.

While there are many ways to get people to read your blog, there is one method that distances itself from all others. It’s like Usain Bolt racing a bunch of toddlers. Way, way out ahead of the pack.

Before I tell you what it is, ask yourself a quick question…

Why are you reading this blog post?

Maybe you clicked here from an email you received from me. Or maybe you were visiting this blog and clicked onto this particular post. Maybe you were chasing Usain Bolt, gave up and stopped here to rest. Doesn’t matter. The question is the same…

Why are you reading this blog post?

Or, said another way, “what attracted you to this particular blog post?”

I’ll tell you what did it. Or rather WHO did it. It’s a person we all know very well. His name is…

Mr. Cure E Osity.

Curiosity. That’s what got you to read this blog post. You probably didn’t say it out loud, but I guarantee you some part of your mind (consciously or subconsciously) thought, “what IS the #1 way to get people to read your blog”?

And here you are.

I was at an amusement park recently where there was a hole in a wall. Above the hole was a sign that read, “Do Not Look Here”. People were lined up around the corner to look in the hole. Why?

Curiosity.

Curious has two distinct meanings:

1) Curious means “eager to learn or know”. What is it that your subscribers and site visitors are “eager to learn or know”?

2) Curious means “arousing interest or attention”. What kind of title, headline or description can you use to “arouse interest or attention”?

It’s fairly easy to get people to read things. In face, the formula is almost elementary…

CURIOUS topic + CURIOUS headline = people reading

It begins with a CURIOUS topic. You have to know your audience. Readers of the Wall Street Journal aren’t the same as readers of Mad Magazine. (At least, most aren’t) You have to ask yourself, “what is it that my audience is ‘eager to learn or know’?” What are they CURIOUS about?

I know that a large majority of my subscribers have blogs. And what does every blogger want? Someone to listen to them. So, my “CURIOUS topic” is getting people to listen to you if you’re a blogger. That’s what YOU are “eager to learn or know”. That’s the subject matter of this post.

From there, it’s about developing some kind of CURIOUS headline. Knowing that people will “look” where it says, “do not look here” (in other words, knowing people are curious) it’s easy to use words like “the #1 way to…” It “arouses interest or attention”.

When you have a CURIOUS topic that is coupled with a CURIOUS headline you will have people reading. AND when the CURIOUS topic LIVES UP to the promise made in the CURIOUS headline you will KEEP people reading. And eventually taking action.

But that’s a different post.

Here’s what you need to do in order to make this work right now, today, at YOUR blog.

1) Ask yourself, “What is it that my contacts are ‘eager to learn or know’?” That’s your CURIOUS topic.

2) Ask yourself, “How can I express that topic in a way that ‘arouses interest or attention’?” That’s your CURIOUS headline.

And that’s how you get people to read your blog.

Curiosity may have killed the cat, but I’m guessing with at least a few of those nine lives he came back for more.

———-

Want PLR license to a high quality blog report? Private Label Rights are available for “The 30 Minute Guide to Blog P.R.O.M.O.” at http://plrso.com/blog_promo.html This special report teaches how to drive traffic to your blog in about half an hour per day, with specific assignments Monday through Friday. NOTE: This PLR offer is being “retired” on Friday, April 9th at 10PM CDT and will no longer be available after that time.

If you’re an affiliate marketer, then you’re always looking over your shoulder to see if the competition – your fellow affiliates – are catching up to you. Or, worse than that, you’re looking up ahead trying to catch up with them!

At times any market can be crowded, so selling the same thing to the same group of people means you’re lucky to get just a small share of the market. Imagine having thirty-five Wal-Mart stores in one small town, all competing with each other to get the local business. You get the idea.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. The easiest way to outsell other affiliates is this…

Turn your AFFILIATE offer into a UNIQUE offer!

You see, most affiliates try to sell the product as is. If your prospects are shopping around, they’re going to skip all the “buy from me” offers.

Instead, they’re going to focus on those offers that give them an incentive to buy. And that means you can outsell the other affiliates simply by offering a bonus product to anyone who buys through your affiliate link.

I’ve been teaching this concept since 2001 and, all things being equal, those affiliates who put this into practice will outsell those who don’t virtually 100% of the time.

It’s a very simple strategy. Let’s break it down into three steps…

Step 1: CHOOSE Your Incentive

Your goal is to make your offer stand out from the crowd by offering an incentive to buy from your link, thereby boosting your conversion rate. And that means you need to offer a bonus that enhances or otherwise complements the affiliate product.

Did you catch that? Your bonus should “enhance” or “complement” the product you are promoting as an affiliate. That’s what makes for the best incentive.

————- Case Study ———–

Let me give you a “real” case study (not made up … actually done by one of my customers).

A customer – who is also one of my affiliates – recently purchased my Multiple Streams Theme wordpress blog theme. He loaded it to his site. Then, he invested a little time writing a small report that teaches how to customize and tweak the theme. He offered this small report, filled with insider shortcuts and tips for enhancing the theme, as an incentive to anyone who ordered the Multiple Streams Theme through his affiliate link.

Brilliant.

I’m just guessing, but I bet the report didn’t take him half an hour to write. He just logged his own personal experiences. And yet it has high value to anyone who has plans to order the theme.

That’s how you outsell other affiliates. You turn your AFFILIATE offer into a UNIQUE OFFER.

————- Case Study ———–

One way to do this is by reading the sales letter for the product and choosing one particularly enticing bullet point.

Example #1: If the sales letter tells prospects they can learn how to get traffic from social media sites, then you can create a report called “27 Ways to Use Social Media to Drive Traffic to Any Website!”

Example #2: If the sales page for a diet book promises a month of low calorie recipes to customers, you can create a supplementary low calorie recipe book and give it away to those who buy from your link.

Example #3: If you’re promoting a dog training book and you see a bullet point about eliminating bad behaviors such as jumping, incessant barking, digging in the gardening, etc. You can create a report or even a video called, “The Secrets of Training the Perfect Dog: How to Keep Your Dog’s Paws Off Your Guests, Off Your Counters and Out of Your Garden!”

The point is, your freebie should be directly related to the affiliate offer. You want your prospects to buy through your link just because the incentive is so enticing.

What kind of incentive? You can do videos, software, coaching, advertising, installations, services, etc.

But, “pound for pound”, the best and easiest incentive to create is a small report.

Step 2: CREATE Your Incentive

Once you decide on the topic, your next step is to create the bonus product. If you’re creating a short report or video, you can probably finish it in one day. Otherwise, you can hire a trusted freelancer to do it, which frees your time to focus on marketing the offer!

Tip: You find ghostwriters on sites like WarriorForum.com, Elance.com, and GetAFreelancer.com. You can also ask for recommendations from your colleagues via your social networks or on business forums.

Step 3: CIRCULATE Your Incentive.

Finally, your last step is to promote your offer by letting prospects know that anyone who buys the affiliate product using your link will get the bonus product.

Let your list know. Tell your blog readers. Tweet about it. Purchase advertising. Distribute free marketing materials such as ezine articles. Mention it in sig files at forums. You know the drill.

Now, there are a few ways to deliver the product:

1. On the download page. If you’ve developed a relationship with the product vendor, he may agree to set up a special sales page that promotes the bonus plus a special download page so that customers can download it instantly after purchasing.

2. Manually. You can have customers forward their receipts and then you send them the link to the bonus.

3. Automatically. You can also set up a special email address with an autoresponder, so that anyone who sends you a receipt gets the download link automatically. (Naturally, some people will try to “cheat” this system.)

And there you have it – the simple three-step strategy you can use to outsell your competitors and put more money in your pocket.

It’s so easy you could be making more money by tomorrow… if you get started today!

Speaking of “making more money”. If you have a blog, how would you like to have ten “built-in” ways to increase your affiliate commissions from your blog? Click Here to learn more. NOTE: The offer mentioned at the website will no longer be available after Friday, March 19, 2010 at 10PM. I’m “retiring” it then and discontinuing all sales.

If you’re trying to build a steady stream of traffic on your own, you’re in for an uphill climb. You’ll need to spend a lot of time (such as on tasks like search engine optimization), a lot of money (such as on pay per click marketing) – or both.

Fortunately, there’s an easier way to get loads of traffic very quickly – and for free. All you have to do is leverage other people’s traffic and resources. Read on to discover ten ways to get other people to send you their traffic…

1. Be a Guest Blogger

Some bloggers solicit guest articles, in which case you can create a blog post and submit it for consideration. However, even those that don’t advertise accepting guest articles may be open to the idea if you give them a reason why they should.

For example, you can:

• Trade articles with the blogger (so that they get to post an article on your blog too).

• Use the blog owner’s affiliates links in your article, so that they make money when their readers buy a product.

• Offer something else attractive in trade, such as an endorsement in your newsletter.

2. Recruit Them to Your Affiliate Program

One quick and easy way to sell more products using other peoples’ traffic is by asking them to join your affiliate program.

If you’re selling digital products, you should offer at least a 50% commission rate to affiliates, and even higher for “super affiliates” (those who can send you a lot of traffic and sales). You may even offer additional perks, such as bonuses or discounts for their customers.

Tip: You can quickly and easily set up an affiliate program for your digital products using Clickbank.com (which is also a payment processor).

3. Trade Blog Links

Instead of trading content, you can trade blog links with other people in your niche (AKA “blogrolling”).

The first benefit is that it’s visible for a long period of time, as usually these links are permanently placed on the front page of the blog.

Secondly, you can also get a search engine optimization benefit if the blog has a high Google Page Rank (and if you use your keywords as the anchor text for your link).

4. Trade Newsletter Articles

If you like the idea of trading content, then consider trading newsletter articles with other people in your niche.

Tip: Look for those who also post their newsletter issues on their blogs, as then you’ll get the benefit of a backlink and ongoing traffic!

5. Co-Promote On Your Download Pages

If you have products or services that are closely related to another marketer’s products, then you may agree to trade product links on your thank you / download pages.

Alternatively, you can ask the marketer to use his affiliate link to point to your product sales page.

Either way, this tends to be responsive traffic, since they’re customers who just bought something (and thus they’re in the buying mood).

6. Swap Links On Your Subscription Confirmation Pages

Another place you can trade links is on your newsletter subscription confirmation pages. You may even agree to trade endorsements in the welcoming emails that you send to your new subscribers.

7. Do Joint Mailings

If you ship physical products, then seek out other marketers who’re selling physical products in your niche. Then ask these people to send out a flyer advertising your products in every shipment they send, and you’ll do the same for them.

Tip: Look on eBay® to find marketers in your niche who’re selling a high volume of physical products.

8. Ask to Interview Them

The biggest marketers in your niche might not be open to some of the other suggestions we’ve talked about so far, such as content swaps (especially if you’re relatively unknown and don’t have a busy blog yet). However, they may be open to you interviewing them, perhaps on a teleseminar. And if so, then they’ll also likely help you advertise the call, which means you get free traffic.

Tip: Be sure to mention your website link on the call, because then you’ll get traffic months or years from now if you distribute the recordings.

9. Co-Write and Promote Articles

Instead of creating a recording with another marketer, you can create an article together.

Example: You can each share five niche tips. Or one of you can share the tips and the other person can write the article.

Either way, you’ll get traffic because your partner will help you distribute the content, perhaps by posting it on his blog and telling his list about it.

10. Create Rebrandable Reports

Finally, you get others to send you traffic by creating rebrandible reports (using a tool like ViralPDF.com). This is where you allow others to change the affiliate links in a report to their affiliate links, so that anyone who distributes the report has the opportunity to make money on the backend.

Summary

You don’t have to invest months of work or thousands of dollars to get traffic – not when you simply leverage other people’s traffic!

—————-

I mean I am systematically going to begin removing ALL of my current offers from the internet and discontinuing the sale of them. Once they are removed, they will no longer be available for purchase.

The offers will be removed, one at a time, at a rate of about every 7-10 days. Everyone on my list will be given advance notice of what product is being removed with the date of removal. This will give everyone ample time to purchase anything they are interested in before it is gone.

August of this year will mark my 10 year anniversary since going full-time. I launched ProfitsVault.com in August 2000. (As a side note, I’ll be totally revamping that site and relaunching it in August of this year to celebrate!)

I’m not “quitting” internet marketing, but I’m going to scale back tremendously.

In a matter of weeks, every single current offer (ebook, membership site, etc.) will have been removed from the Internet and no longer available for purchase.

The big question is —

WHY?

There are three quick reasons that I want to share…

1. To free up time for personal interests.

I’ve got a book that’s being released in March called “Lessons That Leave A Mark” for Sunday School teachers and another one that will be done for release in July or August. I’m going back to Poland this summer as the mission trip team leader. I’ve been speaking at some churches and have a Christian based membership site that should launch sometime first quarter 2010. I just feel like my life needs to head in more of a ministry direction. Plus there are a lot of other personal things that I want to give more of my time to such as family trips (we’re gone somewhere almost every month … and loving it!) and running, tennis, backpacking. Life is too short to work all the time and we’ve been blessed enough over the past ten years that we can spend the next ten doing what we enjoy and feel called to do. (NOTE: You can keep up with my ministry stuff at my “other” blog … http://www.LifeTurns.com)

2. To streamline my business.

Despite the fact that I outsource most of my customer support these days, there are still a lot of day to day operations stuff that I’m involved in that demand my time. When you oversee more than 100 different offers, it can be time draining trying to train team members to handle new FTC rules, update sites, use new technologies, troubleshoot errors, not offend 20,000 customers who all feel like “personal friends” which require a personal response, etc. By having only 1-2 offers out there to maintain as opposed to 100+, I’ll be able to be more personal with my customers and eliminate a lot of time drain.

3. To maximize offers.

Ever heard of InfoproductMastery.com? Most people on my list haven’t, despite the fact that it’s arguably THE best course available on the subject of creating information products to sell. Ryan Deiss and I created it somewhere around 4 years ago. While I’ve sold a couple hundred copies … I should have sold THOUSANDS of copies by now. Why haven’t I? Because it’s been sitting there with no attention from me for years. I have so many ideas for new offers that I generally don’t spend enough time marketing them after I create and release them. I.E. I create an offer, promote it to my lists, get partners to promote it and then I move on to another list. That’s a waste of good products and services. I need to limit myself to fewer new offers and try to get them into as many hands as possible instead of mass producing content and casting them aside to gather cyber-dust.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I know there are going to be questions. Let me answer them before you ask them…

FAQ #1: Are you retiring?

Re-read the opening sentence: “I’m not quitting as an internet marketer.” Despite the fact that I’ve spelled this out, some will tell people I’m quitting or they’ll think I’m quitting. I’m NOT quitting. I’m “retiring” my current products, not myself.

FAQ #2: What about affiliates?

My affiliates and joint venture partners stand to make even more money than ever before. Every affiliate will have the opportunity to promote my products prior to them being removed, have the opportunity to promote limited “special offers” that will be a part of some offer removals and will have the opportunity to earn commissions on follow-up sales of new offers. Any existing links you have in place for items that are removed will be redirected to an explanation page about the removal, along with information on current offers … you WILL receive commissions on purchases made through valid existing affiliate links. Bottom line: if you’re an affiliate or joint venture partner, don’t go anywhere. Even better things are coming! (NOTE: If you ARE an affiliate, you’ll receive separate emails related to the “retirement”) Not an affiliate yet? Join at http://www.Infoprofitshare.com … it’s free.

FAQ #3: Will you release new offers?

As I mentioned earlier, I will DEFINITELY be releasing new offers later this year. I have several new membership sites, coaching programs and other products “ready to launch”.

FAQ #4: What if I’m a member of Membernaire or Affiliatenaire?

If you are currently a member of Membernaire.com or Affiliatenaire.com (or if you join PRIOR to me shutting the sales process down for them) you WILL be able to continue in the series of lessons until you complete them all. There are NO CHANGES for current members or anyone who joins prior to me retiring these two successful membership sites.

FAQ #5: Can I buy licensing to these removed products?

At this time, there are NO LICENSES available for the offers that I’m retiring. I do anticipate licensing (PLR) some of the content in the future (after everything is retired) and will make it known when and if they become available. At this time, no licenses are available. If you want PLR, grab all you can at http://www.PLRSO.com before they are removed as well.

FAQ #6: What if I’m on your list?

If you are on any of my lists … stay there! Firstly, all of the free content (articles, blog posts, newsletter issues, mini-courses, special reports, video tutorials, etc.) will still be free and as relevant to you as always. You don’t want to miss out on quality content that you can use. Secondly, by staying on my lists you’ll know which offers are being retired so you can grab anything you want prior to their removal. And, finally, moving forward there will continue to be new content and offers as usual … staying on my lists keeps you in the loop for all of it!

FAQ #7: Is this a marketing trick?

If by “trick” you mean “are you saying this just to get a bunch of sales and you really have no intention of retiring the offers”, then NO this is definitely not a trick. Anyone who knows me knows that I don’t play marketing games. If I say only 100 will be sold, only 100 will be sold. If I say I’m closing the doors on Friday, I’m closing the doors on Friday. When I tell you that I’m removing the offers and they will no longer be available for purchase, that’s exactly what I mean. No tricks!

HERE’S THE TIMELINE…

The first offers scheduled to be removed are ALL of the special reports at http://www.SRzone.com On Friday, February 26th at 10PM all special report offers at the site will no longer be available for purchase. This includes http://www.HomepreneurHabits.com , my 65-page “operations manual”.

***DISCOUNTED PRICE*** As part of this special promotion, the prices of ALL small reports at the site have been discounted to only $10 each! (Yes, including Homepreneur Habits!)

-> The description of the reports will still read “$15”, but when you click on the order link, it will show that you are only being charged “$10”.

After the 26th, the next offer will be “on the clock”. I’ll announce which one it is, mention any special offers related to it and post the deadline. This process will repeat until ALL of my existing offers are retired.

I’ll still release new products, coaching programs, membership sites, etc. but for now, it’s time to say goodbye to ten years worth of existing offers.

In the meantime, grab a copy of anything you want from http://www.SRzone.com At only $10 per special report, you probably should stock up. EVERYONE should especially order Homepreneur Habits at that price! Remember, this is a time limited offer. On February 26th, they’re gone.

Internet marketers often complain about “slow sales” during the holidays.

With many people concentrating most of their spending on Christmas gifts and travel, selling digital goods generally takes a backseat.

I haven’t seen a single “top ten gifts for Christmas” list that included a “how to make money as an affiliate” infoproduct. After all, it’s hard to gift wrap an ebook and put it under the tree.

Many internet marketers simply take the month of December off and enjoy the profit they’ve made throughout the year.

That’s good news for you and I.

It leaves a lot of extra money for IMers who want to implement some age-old Christmas retail practices.

If you want to get some extra sales before Christmas, here are three ways to do it…

1. Offer a discount coupon.

CASE STUDY: My wife received a coupon a few days ago from one of her favorite stores, a hobby shop. She loves this hobby shop, but it’s not usually a place that she shops at Christmas. But this coupon offered 40% off any one item. Coupled with sales and clearance discounts, that could mean a great bargain. Effective use of a coupon. It brings in people who might normally shop during this time of year.

How many retailers have you seen offering coupons? Many, many, many. Why? Because they work! Pure and simple. They work.

Three principles that will really drive up the usage of coupons to increase sales…

Principle #1: The deeper the discount, the greater the interest.

Ten percent (10%) discount is better than none, to be sure. But if you want to really get people to take notice, bump it up to 50% or more.

Principle #2: The broader the discount, the greater the interest.

Offering a deep discount on “select items” is good. But, the best usage of coupons is to make it a “blanket” coupon. In other words, customers can use it on ANYTHING you offer.

Principle #3: The timelier the discount, the greater the interest.

When you couple a great discount coupon with a TIME DEADLINE, you’ve got a winner. “This coupon only good from 5AM-11AM on December 12th”. Guaranteed boost in sales that morning.

*** The Digital Version ***

With so many shopping carts offering the ability to use coupon codes, with the ability to let people send you Paypal payments and with the ease in which you can temporarily lower prices in Clickbank and other order processors, it’s extremely easy to put this into practice if you’re selling digital goods.

(NOTE: If you’re an affiliate marketer, talk with the owner of the products and services that you are promoting and arrange for a discount for your own contacts.)

2. Create a limited supply.

CASE STUDY: When the sales flyer for a huge discount on 52″ HD plasma televisions made its way to my mailbox, it got my attention. Now we’re speaking MY language! Here’s the deal, though: it was for “the first 10 only”. The race is on! Again, this is effective. Not only do you create an intense desire and sell out your initial 10, but you get additional customers in your doors to (a) buy other things, (b) buy the television at a smaller discount.

There is something about a genuine limited supply that causes people to scurry. If you make some kind of special offer that is only available to a small number of people, it’s usually going to translate into a quick sales boost.

Of course, this isn’t going to inject much additional PROFIT into your account if it’s a low-ticket item.

It’s kind of hard to get excited about the money you’ll make on a “Buy my $27 ebook for only $10 … first 10 only” kind of sale.

What you need to think about in using a limited supply is this: premium offers. Offers that afford you a greater profit per transaction since you’ll be limiting the number of spots available.

*** The Digital Version ***

Eclasses. Coaching. High-end memberships. Physical products. Licensing.

I’d recommend something that is a MINIMUM of $97 and preferably $297 or above. Selling out 10 coaching packages at $297 would bring in almost a quick $3K. That’s some good extra spending cash for your significant other!

Again, the offer you are making needs to be something out of the ordinary. Something special. An incredible deal that’s only available to a privileged few. That’s what gets people to buy.

NOTE: If you’re smart (and you are, because you’re reading this post), you’ll put up a list after you’ve sold out the initial offer and then offer something related to those who join your “waiting list”.

3. Give a bonus.

CASE STUDY: A software retailer offered a special “buy one get one of equal value” free during the holiday madness. I wasn’t planning on buying Adobe Elements, but when I saw that it was on sale and on top of that I would get Adobe Premiere for free, it was too much to resist. Need I say it? Effective! This offer got a customer who wasn’t in the market to buy anything to actually come in and spend money.

Why do we accept “buy one get one free” offers? Or “buy this and get that free” offers?

Because we love getting “extra” stuff for free! Seriously. Why do some retailers offer a plush doll with a new children’s video at the same price another retailer offers the children’s video alone? Why do some convenience stores offer a free coffee or soda with every $10 gas purchase while others do not? Why do some restaurants offer free appetizers and/or dessert with an entree purchase and others do not?

Because some people get it! Some marketers are smarter than others. They know that all things being equal, we’ll buy something from the person who gives us an extra incentive for free with our purchase.

I’ve been teaching the practice of using digital incentives (especially for affiliates) for about ten years now. It’s nothing new. But it keeps working.

Especially this time of year.

*** The Digital Version ***

How hard would it be for you to create a special report and offer it as a bonus to anyone who orders XYZ in the next week?

How hard would it be for you to offer a free personal consultation as a bonus to the first 50 who order XYZ?

How hard would it be for you to comp a copy of Product A to any customer who purchases Product B?

How hard would it be for you to throw in PLR licensing for the next 100 people who order a copy of your older product?

The short answer is: not hard at all.

There are many options (good grief, I just gave you four!) for using bonuses to increase your sales quickly. Most of them are very easy to put into practice. And, just like that, extra sales.

(NOTE: If you’re an affiliate marketer, this is perfect for you! Create some kind of bonus incentive … special reports are easy … and offer it to those who purchase something through your affiliate link.)

Once you’ve chosen your method of getting these extra sales, tell your people about it. Mention it at your blog. Send it out to your lead list. Contact past customers. Get your affiliate team involved.

And watch a boost of extra sales come your way quicker than you can say, “Ho Ho Ho”!
