“StorySongs: From The Soul Of The Earth”, featuring the award-winning works of singer/songwriter Jim Eaglesmith and outdoor photographer Mark Vollmer. The photography and music in the DVD spans the beauty and heart of Nevada, the Lake Tahoe region, and the American Southwest. The live performance featuring some of the best musicians in northern Nevada & California, matched to Vollmer’s images brings the DVD to life with a special Concert featuring the studio musicians live on stage!

My recent trip to Alaska inspired me to

write a Photoblog  out of respect for the

wonderful opportunity to share the gift

of Nature Pristine and at Peace.

The CD is finished! The Images for the DVD are choreographed to the music and it looks simply Amazing beyond our expectations.  Plans for local CD release and DVD preview are in the works for summer with the tentative date for major Release Concert at Center for Spiritual Living Reno in September!  in loving service, jimiji

Jim has a new Work’ titled ” StorySongs”, from the Soul of the Earth. Co authored with award winning visual artist Mark Vollmer. The journey begins at the Anasazi ruins and moves through the Grand Canyon, Black Rock Desert to Pryamid Lake and finally settles atop the Tahoe Rim Trail in Nevada. The CD release will be in late Winter 2009.

Watch for news of the DVD release in Spring 2010.

The Release date is not in ink as of yet. It is projected for late April or early May 2010. Venues considered are “Center for Spiritual Living” and “Steinway Gallery”
both in Reno. This does not preclude other informal venues before or and after the main release. check here for future updates as the snow falls…

Last nights performance of “Performing Community” for Martina went beyond anyone’s expectations especially my own. Wing & a Prayer Dance Co. has again re emerged to raise the bar higher for the Reno community of Theatre Artists which has grown to 5 companies over the last several years. This was the finest performance in the area since Jill Marlene’s ” Becoming the Intrinsic Beloved”, literally blew audiences away earlier this summer.I was moved to Chills when the young Angela Ritchie set the tone, opening solo with an excerpt from ‘Anatomy of a Fallen Angel”. Feathers falling around her she spellbound all of us till the final blackout. Other notables were the always dependable solo Cellist Peter Lenz with Suite #3 in C Major, BWV 1009. Robert Gerald Gonzalez delivered “Naked writing” , a diatribe outlining his thought provoking musings of both sides of Fourth Wall. Later, Mary Bennett & Adam Whitney cracked us totally up with their hilarious comedy duo piece “Public Service Announcement”. My own song
” Lullabye”, a ballad of a Mother and child settled us in before Dave Brouse and I lifted the energy with duo guitar & vocals on his “Starshine”. The finally, an excerpt from “Black Ice” choeographed by Martina Young and featuring WNP Dancers. Dave & I accompanied them with a furious percussion rthym on Conga and Djdembe to a rockin climax, followed by a standing and well deserved ovation! Lights up, Martina, wobbled by pain and weakness of both ‘Bone of Bone’ hips, stood to address the performers and audience with a heartfelt thank you! there wasnt a Dry Heart in the house. This evening felt to me like a prelude to more local Artists coming together in support of others without health insurance and in need of financial help. We can all do a little something to contribute to the ‘Performing Community’ in our homeland by visiting the ‘Bone on Bone” website:
