Good news! The roommate is OUTTA HERE! So what if it ended on bad terms and us changing the locks, So happy to have him gone.

The bro-in-law….doing well for the most part. Cleaning his dishes, cleaning the basement, etc.

I will be a business owner as of January 1st. CRAZY, I know. Am I ready? I don’t know.

My birthday is next Monday! Yes, the 27th. Thanks in advance for the gifts. Oh wait? You didn’t get me one? RATS!

Actually, there isn’t much else to say. So, tooduloo for now! I promise I’ll be back soon!

So, I spent my day yesterday doing my false motherhood duties (ie. waking up at 4 to take Zack to work, getting off work early to take Devin to baseball), and I was a little drained from it all. Devin’s practice started at 4:30. I did NOT want to sit in the heat and wait on him.

His mom had said the practice ended at around 8. I didn’t believe her, but didn’t know when it should end. I decided I’d show up around 6:45-7 to pick him up, and called up LJ, a friend of mine, and also one of my bridesmaids.

LJ just started her big girl job teaching high school biology, so she was grading papers. I went to her house and we simply talked for awhile. Her dad made dinner, her brothers came home, we ate, and I left.

I don’t get to see LJ often enough, because she lives about 35 minutes away. So when we see each other, it’s usually a planned event on a weekend. So it was refreshing just to chill.

Devin’s dad called me while I was there (he’s in St. Louis) to see how things were going. He thought I was sitting at the practice field watching Devin practice, and wanted to know how he was doing. When I explained I was chilling my my friend, he seemed a little disappointed in me.

Anyway, I get to the field at about 6:50. Guess what? No one is there but the coach and Devin. WHY DIDN’T HE CALL ME? Oh…well he left his phone in the truck. GRR!

So I pick him up, feeling like a complete moron for being late (I guess they got out at 6:30, so I wasn’t TOO late…right?) and we head home. Upon getting home, I went to the bedroom and called Trav to talk, because he was at work late. He asked if I watched Devin practice. I said….”No, I went to Lauren’s house.” He said, “Way to be supportive!”

Ummm…..excuse me?

Why does everyone think that just because I drove Devin to practice that it is my responsibilty/duty/whatever to sit and watch?

A) I’m not savvy enough in baseball to know if he needs to keep his shoulder down, if he needs to work on grounding the ball, or if he needs to work on his conditioning.
B) He’s not my son….should I really feel like I need to cater to him the way a parent would?
C) Being up from 4 am to right then, but only taking care of the boys and working, I think I needed a mental break. So give me a break!
D) Some of the other kids’ parents didn’t even stay, but I was supposed to?

I was a little irritated about it. Not one person said, “Thanks for doing this.” They simply were disappointed that I wasn’t a good enough sister-in-law to sit in the heat through the whole baseball practice for someone I was simply doing a transportation favor for.

Anyway, I should stop complaining. I didn’t even get to sleep until 10:30 last night, and I woke up again at 4. So, excuse the attitude.

And have a great Friday!

Ah, the glorious days of false motherhood.

Last night, I made dinner, took a shower, and went to bed at 7:45, read 10 chapters of Mark from the Bible, and then fell asleep.

This morning, my alarm went off at 3:45. I, of course, hit the snooze button several times until I finally woke up at 10 after 4:00 am. I got dressed, straightened my hair, washed my face, etc. Zack was ready to head to work at about 4:30, so we took off. We stopped at QT so he could get a few energy drinks. I dropped him off at 4:54.

I headed over to McDonald’s. They have THE best McCafe Frappucino thingamajigs, and I kinda wanted the caffiene. To my dismay, they didn’t open until 5:30. WHAT?!?! This particular McDonald’s had recently been open 24 hrs on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I was horribly disappointed. The local gas station was closed, too. So I had to drive ALL the way to QT to get a cappucino. And I wasn’t in the mood for their hot drinks, but their cold ones SUCK!

Anyway, I headed back over the work and got here at 5:20. I started in on my daily business. BORING, but I forgot how relaxing it could be to work completely alone. It’s nice not to hear a lot of background noise while you’re doing you’re thing. And it’s nice not to have the phone ringing off the hook while you’re trying to stay focused.

I have to leave early today, too. I’ll clock out at 3:15, head over to Zack’s work where Devin (the youngest brother who JUST got his license 2 days ago) will meet us. He has baseball practice over in KS, and his mom doesn’t want him driving all the way over there since he’s so fresh on the road. So he’ll leave the Hummer with Zack, who will drive it back to our house. Devin and I will head to baseball practice. It starts at 4:30 and doesn’t get over till about 8 (at least that’s what his mom said. I don’t know if that’s true because that is an awfully long practice). So, I get to find something to do between 4:30 and 8.

I can’t go shopping due to lack of funds. I can’t go home because that would be a waste of gas money. I guess I could take a nap in the truck, but I need to go directly to bed when I get home, so that’s probably not the best idea.

I didn’t even have a book to bring with me. I’ve read them all! UGH!

Like I said, false motherhood. Taking care of the kids long before I actually have any.

I do! I love bananas! And lately, I’ve been bringing a thing of bananas (what do you call it anyway? A cluster? Moving on…) to work every week. I’ve been eating one for breakfast. And then using one to make peanut butter and banana sandwiches for lunch.

Delicioso!

Oh, how I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Much more than I love bananas by themselves.
But you have to use crunchy peanut butter…or else it’s just not right.

Well, I’ve been coming up with a dilemma. My bananas tend to go bad much quicker than I’m ready to eat them.

Last week, I bought my banana cluster on Sunday. I had bananas on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday….but the remaining bananas were just spotty enough that there was no way I was going to eat them the next day. So…I took them home and made banana bread (which, I might add, turned out wonderfully).

This week, I bought my bananas on Monday. I figured that waiting one day might help me survive through the week.

I ate taco bell for lunch on Monday (I had to run to the bank, and it was just SO tempting. Plus, I didn’t have bananas yet since I went shopping after work). Then I ate my bananas on Tuesday. It is now Wednesday, and my bananas are already REALLY spotty! WHAT?!

I feel cheated.

The banana I ate for breakfast had a really bad bruise on it, and I had to cut it off. Leaving me MUCH less banana to eat.

Is there any way I’ll be able to eat these bananas on Thursday OR Friday?! UGH! I feel as if I just don’t know how to take care of my bananas.

That, or there is some trick unbeknownst (sp?) to me on how to keep your bananas fresh.

This is really stressing me out. I’m trying to save money by NOT eating out every day, and I WON’T eat PB&J. Meat sandwiches either. Gross! (Unless they’re from panera, but that completely ruins the point of not eating out)

So, help me, PLEASE. How do I keep my bananas fresh!?

This morning, I was about 2 inches away from having a serious accident. Let me explain.

I am the red car. The stupid person was in the yellow car directly behind a truck. I was going 60 mph. They were going about 20 mph. There was nobody behind me. Obviously, I couldn’t get over. And obviously, the yellow car should NOT have even been thinking of getting over yet, because it was RIGHT before the lanes actually met.

Yellow car should’ve waited 1.2 seconds for me to zoom past, and THEN attempted to get over. But apparently, yellow car was sick of going 20 mph while she needed to get where she was going. So she thought, finally, I can get over as soon as possible, disregarding anybody else, and get on my happy little way to work.

So, instead of following the rules of the road (waiting until you are actually supposed to get over and the solid line is gone), yellow car zipped in front of me, causing me to brake excessively. And honk. Oh, believe me, I honked.

A heavy box containg gifted dishes came hurling from my backseat and hit me in the arm, scratching me…and it’s now turning into a bruise. I haven’t checked to see if any of the dishes actually broke.

My bananas fell on the floorboard, along with my purse and bread (I was taking bananas and bread to work for lunch. PB and banana sandwiches. YUMM!)

And then, as I proceeded to brake and honk, I thought, oh !@#$ I am going to hit this stupid car. And the stupid yellow car would NOT speed up! It was like an endless 20 mph for this car! But my car jolted to a stop finally. That was the quickest, yet slowest, stop from 60 to 0 I’ve ever experienced.

I then checked my rearview to make sure I wasn’t going to get pummeled by oncoming traffic. Luckily, there was no one for quite awhile.

I sped up, missing a gear (my car is a stick shift) because of my flustered state, and went about my business, heart still racing. The stupid girl in the yellow car waved at me. Really?

And then I noticed my car was shaking. Not vibrating….SHAKING!

I wish I would’ve hit that stupid car so I wouldn’t have to deal with a stupid shaking car on my own! UGH! If luck would have it, now I’ll probably have to take it to the shop and pay out the wazoo to get it fixed.

But….at least I don’t have to go to the hospital. It could’ve been bad.
