The most common use of private jets is to transport employees to meet company objectives. For strategic meetings, new market research, client relationships and meeting with investors.

2. Transportation of Customers

Quite often companies will utilize a private jet to bring clients to visit a facility to launch a new product or service. The opportunity to make presentations and hold meetings with clients and prospects on the private flight are a major selling point for the usage.

3. Transportation of Suppliers

Businesses are able to accelerate and improve supply chain by transporting suppliers efficiently on a private jet. The ability to transport several suppliers for meetings or interaction with clients or just improve supplier relations is key.

4. Transportation of Cargo, Parts

It is extremely efficient to transport cargo and parts between company facilities, suppliers, customers and potential customers. Larger volume of shipments could potentially reduce overnight shipping cost, especially if the flight is accompanied by a company official.

5. Humanitarian and Charity Flights

It's a known fact that private jets support people and communities in crisis by flying supplies, patients, blood and organs. Recently it has become common for military families to be connected via private jet. One well know mission is for emergency relief to victims of natural disaters.

Private Jet User Fees Will Kill A Major Economic Engine - Airports

Throughout the country there are mostly small, Community airports create jobs for area residents in aviation related businesses on and near the airport. Flight schools, aircraft repair of private jets, fixed based operators, etc. as well as businesses indirectly related to the airfield. These include restaurants, hotels, car rentals, shopping, hotels and others. public use airports that are used by business aircraft and are key to the local economy, providing jobs, local investment and economic activity to the communities.

These employers generate much needed tax revenues for cities, counties and states. Local airports help keep existing employers in a community and attract new business eager to capitalize on the market. User fees on general aviation will dampen the amount of traffic and potentially will have a negative impact on several airports, employers and employees throughout the country.

For an examples of the economic power of these smaller airports look at Leesburg Executive Airport (KJYO) in Virginia. It is located 37 miles from D.C. and has approximately two dozen twin pistons, five helicopters and a half dozen jets. Leesburg has one runway, four flight schools and one fixed based operator. Not a big operation in size, but the economic impact is estimated at $42 million to the regional economy and provides 612 jobs.

Private jets and the related business are a major economic engine in the U.S. with most of the revenue generated from the regional small airports. User fees would restrict aircraft movement, make users select different routes to maximize distance, potentially passing by the smaller airports and communities dependent on them.

Private Jets Create Jobs and Help Boost Economy

It's a fact. Air Charter Services industry means jobs. From the smallest U.S. towns and sparsely populated counties, to the largest American cities and states, private jets play an important role in local and regional economies. From aircraft manufacturing and airport related jobs, and through the purchase of goods and services by firms involved in the manufacture, operation and maintenance of private jets, business aviation is a major economic driver throughout the United States.

Private Jet industry contributes $150 billion annually to the U.S. economy

More than 1.2 million people are employed in the U.S. in this industry

The majority of the world's business aircraft are operated, serviced and maintained in the U.S., creating jobs in every state

In some states and regions, the industry is a significant generator of employment and local investment. Look to Kansas, where aviation accounts for $7.1 billion, nearly one-third of the state's economy. Aircraft manufacturer's based in Wichita account for the majority of the activity. But even smaller states such as Rhode Island, have an annual contribution around $460 for every resident in the state.

These are small samples of the great economic contribution that the private jet industry provides. Not only are the aircraft manufactured in the U.S., many are exported. Of the aircraft that are manufactured outside of the U.S., many are imported for final assembly.

How Businesses Use Private Jets

From recent surveys of companies that use business aircraft the results are not surprising how these critical business tools are used. The value of utilizing a private jet for business can be confirmed by the numbers, the overwhelming majority of business aircraft utilization is due to the pitfalls of the commercial airlines:

64% of businesses that use a private aircraft is because the commercial airlines schedules do not support their needs

19% of the respondents needs are to reach remote locations not supported by the airlines

6% of the usage is due to industrial or personal security reasons

1% are to make a connection with a commercial airline from a remote airfield

9% stated other reasons

While most business aircraft are owned by the companies that fly them, they also sometimes utilize private jet charters, fractional ownership, leasing or partnerships.

On-demand air charter provides companies immediate access to business aircraft and flights operate on the passenger's schedule. Charter companies that provide on-demand charter, with often save the traveler money by sourcing empty leg flights.

Companies that charter frequently will often purchase a block of charter time, usually at a reduced rate. Jet card programs are also popular allowing the purchaser to buy typically 25 hours of flight time, without requiring any long-term commitment.

Four Reasons Why Air Charter Service Is Smart For Business

In today's economy finding ways to improve productivity while working within a budget can be challenging. In this article we will talk about the top four reasons why using air charter service for your business makes sense.

1. Employee time management

Efficient employee scheduling and employee time-savings are possible because business aircraft have the ability to fly on-demand and nonstop between smaller airfields that usually are closer to a traveler's destination than a major airport.

2. Increase traveler productivity, safety and security

When traveling via air charter service, passengers can meet, plan and work in a secure office environment, free from interuptions and distractions. Enabling your team to discuss proprietary information without fear of eavesdropping, industrial espionage or physical threat. Travelers can strategize before meeting or conduct meetings en route. Also, many private jets are outfitted with advanced communications technologies. Most importantly, air charter service aircraft are typically flown by a two person professional crew, helping business aviation achieve a safety record comparable to that of the major airlines.

3. Access to communities with little or no airline service

Businesses can reach 10 times the number of U.S. airports (more than 5,000), than served by commercial airlines. Utilizing air charter service gives the traveller the ability to use smaller, less congested airfields located closer to the final destination. The use of smaller airfields provides economic stability to smaller communities.

4. Scheduling predictability

About 3 percent of all commercial airline flights are cancelled, but nearly one quarter more are delayed. If a commercial flight cancellation or delay causes passengers to miss an airline connection, the odds of getting on the next flight are reduced. Also, some companies are located in towns with infrequent commercial flights, leaving company employees with few or no alternatives if a flight is cancelled.

Total worldwide sales of general aviation aircraft fell 15.5 percent in the first six months of this year. General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMMA) shows total billing of general aviation aircraft of $7.3 billion, which is down 22.3 percent.

GAMA and an aerospace workers union made a statement which blamed political rhetoric for the demonization of the industry resulting in fewer jobs.

According to GAMA, piston powered airplane shipments were down 37 units from 424 units delivered in the first six months of 2010, a 8.7 percent decrease. Turboprop plane shipments declined by 143 units, a 8.9 percent drop. Business jets have also suffered, down 26.5 percent to only 261 units.

But the market has not recovered to historically average conditions.

During the most recent quarter, 2.6% of the worldwide active fleet of business jets changed hands in retail transactions (compared to 2.4% in Q1). This metric is inching closer to the 20 year average of 3.0% per quarter. The turboprop market resale transactions held steady at 2.3% in Q2 (versus 2.2% in Q1). The turboprop 20-year average transactions are 3.2% per quarter.

Of the worldwide fleet of business jets for sale, 13.9% are for sale. This is compared to 14.2% in Q1. The 20 year average is 12.6%, indicating that inventories of resale business jets is still high, but at its lowest point since September 2008. The turboprop inventory decreased from 11.6% to 11.1% over the same period, in-line with the 20-year average of 11.2%.

The market of business jets is still saturated with inventory, which means that good deals are still possible. The turboprop market is a bit more competative since inventory is at its 20 year average.

There was a time in aviation history when chartering a private jet was a luxury reserved for titans of industry or well-heeled business executives. As airline travel has become more expensive, time consuming, and laden with delays and security hassles, private jet travel has become a cost effective way to get from point A to B. After all, time is money.

As any business traveler knows, flying from a small city to another destination by airline can be an exercise in frustration. Not only are you subject to limited commuter flight schedules, but smaller airports that do offer commercial flights tend to be serviced by small and crowded planes. In general, you’re also going to have to connect at a larger hub, fly to another hub, and connect to another commuter flight if you’re flying to another small market airport. Perhaps you’ll even have to rent a car and drive the last leg of your trip. Then, you’ll reverse the process coming back.

With a private jet charter, you can bypass service inconveniences, such as:

Flight schedules: You pick your airport, schedule the departure time, and go. Almost every airport in the country that can handle general aviation can be serviced by a business jet. Delayed at a meeting? Your charter waits for you – no worries about missed flights.

Long security lines: The security process for private jet charters is much faster and convenient.

Baggage check, baggage claim: How much time have you wasted in airports standing in line to check your baggage, and then retrieve it on the other end? With a private charter, your bags are loaded onto the plane when you arrive, and given to you immediately when you land (and let’s not even talk about baggage fees that airlines are now charging).

Wasted productive work time: When is the last time that your team was able to really prepare for a meeting on a commercial flight? On a private jet, there’s no need to worry about someone looking over your shoulder, and your business information remains confidential – and the cabin of a business class jet is as convenient as a conference room in your office.

Perhaps more than anything, one of the great benefits of private jet travel is the personalized attention that you will receive from the time you book the charter until the time your trip is completed. In general, private charter services will arrange to pick you up at your home or hotel, take you to your plane, and arrange ground transportation at the other end of the journey. Throughout your experience, you’re dealing with concierge-level service from a staff whose job is to meet your needs, rather than overworked, surly airline personnel.

The bottom line is that a private jet charter allows you to arrive at your destination rested, relaxed and ready for the work (or pleasure) ahead. It’s hard to put a price on that level of convenience and peace of mind.

The way that people travel has changed dramatically in the last ten years - even in the last five years. With websites like Priceline or Jetsetter regularly offering deep discounts on luxury vacations, the travel industry has become highly competitive. Hotels and resorts have had to lower prices and increase quality. Cruise lines have had to slash ticket prices. Commercial airlines are in the news every week, publicly struggling to stay afloat.

Every what was once considered the ultimate marker of a luxury vacation, private jet travel, has been transformed by the internet. Jet charter companies like JetHub are able to quickly access information from thousands of private jet operators worldwide and provide clients with the lowest fares available for flights. This mode of travel has become so competitive, in fact, that it is often less expensive than traveling first class on a commercial airline.

Private jet travel is no longer reserved for the wealthy. With a little bit of research, now even a regular family can afford to fly to their next family vacation destination on a private jet. For anyone that's every been on family vacation, the reasons this is so attractive are obvious. Private jet travel means no waiting in the security line for two hours, no bad customer service, no lost baggage, no getting bumped off a flight, no missing a connection, and no airplane food.

Savvy travelers know that with a little bit of research they travel in style at a fraction of the cost. Take a look at JetHub's empty legs page and give private jet travel a chance. When you compare it to 5-8 people traveling in first class on a commercial airline, the differences in bang for a buck become painfully obvious.

Hawker 400XP Preferred for Private Jet Travel

One of the most popular private jets available, the Hawker 400XP is a great option for private jet travel. As a light jet, the Hawker 400XP is able to land on runways as short as 3,280 ft.

With a full 305 cubic feet of space in the cabin, plus ample head room, it is also the most comfortable private jet in the sky.

Call a private jet broker.

Winter storms and bad weather have been grounding and delaying commercial flights across the country for weeks now, as is always the case at this time of year. Commercial airlines are often unable to fly in weather because of the limitations on flying very large aircraft to a limited number of airports. Private jets don't have these restrictions because they can fly to any number of smaller airports in an area. They are also easier to land and are less affected by bad weather concerns. Private jets afford a flexibility and element of personalization to travel that commercial airlines cannot offer.

Even travelers who make their first-class reservations well in advance aren't guaranteed that they will make it to their destination on schedule. They might not even make it that day! There are any number of unforeseen factors that can interfere with a person's travel plans. Private jet brokers, however, operate on the client's schedule. Running late in traffic? No problem, the jet is ready and waiting for you. The airport you planned to fly into is closed? No problem, there's an airport 45 minutes away that is fully functional, and your private jet broker has already reserved a car for you to take you from there.

Don't take the risk of flying commercially this winter if you have a schedule to stick to. Your sales team in Chicago could be there all week. Save the money and the hassle of traveling on unreliable commercial airline flights and book a private jet. Then breathe easy because you know everything is being taken care of by very capable hands.

Empty Leg Flights on Private Jets Make Holiday Travel Affordable

Are you traveling this December? If you haven't booked your flight yet it might be time to consider traveling on a private jet. Surprisingly, private jet travel can be more affordable than flying on a commercial airline, especially if you're taking your whole family with you.

Empty leg flights occur when a private jet is booked for a round trip flight. The operator must still bring the jet back to the home hangar, meaning that these jets are often empty and the operator is flying them at a cost. In order to minimize expenses, operators will often sell the return leg at a greatly reduced price. A passenger at a discounted rate is better than no passenger at all.

Here's an example:

John and Jane Smith want to fly with their four children from Las Vegas, NV to Aspen, CO for Christmas. They plan to leave on December 21st. They have the option of flying first class or booking an empty leg flight on a private jet.

By choosing to fly an empty leg on a private jet, the Smith family spends less money than they would on a commercial flight. They are able to fly nonstop, something that wasn't an option on a commercial airline. The best part? They save over 8 hours in travel time.

Rounding out our top 10 series of the best airports for executive jet charter is New Jersey's Teterboro Airport. The oldest airport in the New York City area, Teterboro has a rich history. It started as a base of operations for Fokker in 1919, . In 1926 Colonial Air Transport at Teterboro was the first private company to deliver mail by air. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey purchased the airport in 1949 and leased it to Pan Am World Airways in 1970 for a term for 30 years. In 2000, the Port Authority resumed full responsibility of operations and since 1970 has invested $174 million to upgrade the airport's facilities and open new areas of service to the aviation community. Teterboro is now a relief airport for the New York City area, and serves general aviation including private jets.

Located within the city limits of Los Angeles, Van Nuys airport is preferred by celebrities, politicians and business executives for the convenience and anonymity it offers. The airport has only two parallel runways, and yet it averages around 1,200 flight operations per year. In contrast, LAX has multiple runways and as one of the biggest airports in the US does approximately 1,700 operations per year.

In addition to being the main airport for private jet travel to and from Los Angeles, Van Nuys airport is also where most news helicopters are based. The Los Angeles fire department also bases a fleet of emergency response helicopters out of Van Nuys.

Due probably to its close proximity to Hollywood, Van Nuys airport has been the filming location for many Hollywood movies and TV shows. Most famously, the airport scenes that appear at the end of Casa Blanca showing a private plane taking off were filmed at Van Nuys airport.

In 1948, Clark County bought the airfield to establish the Clark County Public Airport, and all commercial operations moved to the site of this airport. On December 20, 1948 the airport was renamed McCarran Field, and was already serving 1.5 million passengers a year. Today, McCarran serves about 45 million commercial and corporate jet passengers a year.

Since January 4, 2005, McCarran has offered wireless internet service at no charge in the boarding areas and most other public areas. The airport was the first to provide this as a free service for the entire facility, and at this time was the largest free wireless Internet installation in the world. Las Vegas McCarran airport also houses over 1200 slot machines, and McCarran operated 6 kiosks at Las Vegas Convention Center which allow passengers to conduct their airport business and print documents on the way to the airport.

McCarran is linked by bus to the Consolidated Rental Car Facility, conveniently offering 11 rental car companies and capacity to park 5000 vehicles for use by comercial and corporate jet travelers who need a vehicle. With modern business amenities, convenient proximity to downtown Las Vegas, and the capacity to handle all your corporate jet needs, it's no surprise that McCarran International Airport is the facility of choice for passengers flying into or out of the Las Vegas area.

Top Ten Best Airports for Executive Jet Travel - #5 Boston Logan Intl

Dulles International is only 26 miles from the central business district of Washington D.C. Construction began in the 1950s and the airport officially opened in 1962. It is named for the US Secretary of State, John Dulles, who served under Dwight D. Eisenhower’s presidency. The main terminal was designed by a famous Finnish architect names Eero Saarinen, and it is now a well-known landmark.
