October/November Update

God is so good. There is so much going on, but He always sustains and meets us!

It is entirely a miracle, but I will be going to the ICLC National Conference in Shawnee, OK. I really thought it was impossible then at the last minute, God made a way and I am so appreciative. I'm excited to see what God will do and expecting a fresh anointing.

Then right after I get back, we'll have our worship retreat here in Juneau—November 11-13. I believe this will be a wonderful time of recharging and seeking God for everyone involved. You can see all the details at www.spark2flame.com. We always appreciate your prayers.

One more thing to tell you about, I've started something called the Everyday Testimony Project. You can check it out at www.everydaytestimony.com! It's all about reflecting on the miracles we experience in our lives every single day and expressing those testimonies so we can cultivate thankfulness and encourage one another. I'm really excited to see how it all develops.

Last on the list, Andrea and I have sold our house and we are moving. We need lots of prayer as we are trying to follow God's leading in all this and for Breakthrough Church. It's a lot, but not too much for God. We're learning to trust Him ever more deeply!

Thank you for your prayers and friendship. Thank you to everyone who is able to support this ministry financially as well. I know God is speaking in regard to this music and ministry and there will be steps to take for further fulfillment. It is an exciting time to be alive.

September Update

So much going on and so much to be thankful for! God is faithful to reveal Himself and His love.

Coming up soon I’m trying to make it work to go to the ICLC National Conference in Shawnee, OK. It is always a blessed time of encouragement and challenging. If I can go, I’ll be trying to visit one or two churches as well so please pray for some direction on that. Immediately after that, we have a worship retreat here in Juneau—November 11-13. This is a time of getting away, hearing His voice, and growing in our worship and fellowship. If you can make it, please do! Find out all the details at www.spark2flame.com. Andrea is settling in to her first year back teaching. There is a whole lot to do, but it’s amazing she gets to live her dream. She feels blessed even in the midst of all this busyness!

Breakthrough Church is still looking for a permanent home. Yet another prayer request! We know God has given a mission to impact this city with ideas to do just that. We simply need the next step and one step coming very soon is a new place. Pray that God shows us exactly where to go. We know there’s a perfect place that will accommodate everything God has called us to so thank you for your prayers!

August Update

This is definitely a little later than I had planned, but there are so many exciting things happening.

Early this month we had a youth camp in Sitka that was absolutely powerful. Lives were touched and I, along with those there, will never be the same. Thank you for your prayers and faithful support. It's the only way I was able to go! There was tremendous impartation and revelation that I will be reflecting on for some time to come. God says this is a Righteousness Generation, understanding and expressing His righteousness in a powerful way here and now. I have to say thanks too to the guys who were able to come from Oklahoma--it was such a blessing.

Breakthrough Church continues to experience an outpouring of God, and it's an exciting time to be alive. There are plenty of obstacles and challenges, but not one of them is too big for God. Please continue to pray for us. Many decisions are coming up. We have general direction (that I am tremendously excited about), but there are a thousand details that need miraculous intervention.

After a grueling MAT year, Andrea's dream is being realized as she beginsg this week in training as a teacher in one of the high schools here. She's a light in a dark place. There are lot of restrictions, but light cannot be hidden. I know she would appreciate your prayers for her!

July Update

What do you know- God is still faithful in July and will be faithful to the end!

I mentioned last month about the encouraging words and conversations you can find at my blog, Connecting to Impact (just click the link to check it out), but if you would also like to listen to messages preached at our church all the way back to the beginning of this year, just go to Breakthrough Messages and check it out.

I'm excited to see all God is doing here at Breakthrough Church. I truly believe we are gaining some momentum. While the fight is real, so is the victory! Please be praying for our youth. They are an integral part of what God wants to do here and there are many opportunities for them coming soon. First, we are having a baptism service that many are participating in on July 26th. Then shortly after, we have a whole group coming from Oklahoma, leaders and youth, who will be here to help us in outreach as well as hold a short camp that I pray will transform our youth and the youth of Sitka (where the camp will be) in a powerful way. That's the first week of August and the camp is specifically on the 7th and 8th. Thanks for your prayers!

Speaking of Sitka, I am on my way there today to minister tonight. It is always a wonderful time in His presence with great friends. Please pray for the power of God to be seen and an outpouring of all He wants to do. In other news, Andrea (and our family) lived through graduation and she is enjoying some much needed down time while also helping us plan some of these events coming up and gearing up for school where she'll be teaching next year.

June Update

It's June and things don't seem to be slowing down, but there is grace to meet every need. I have a deep sense of God's momentum that is building and I hope you feel it too.

Last month I told you how the music website was redesigned, and I want you to also be aware of the encouragaing words, conversations, and fun we have at my blog, Connecting to Impact (just click the link to check it out). If you're already reading, thank you!

God is leading us here at Breakthrough Church in some interesting directions. I can't share all of it at this moment, but I do ask that you pray. I appreciate your faithfulness and friendship. Our city is ripe for harvest and I believe that in our obedience we will have an eternal impact on lives, families, and more. One thing I have been so touched by recently is God's authority and the Gospel of the Kingdom (click here to listen to the message I preached about this). There are great things in store, but we need a lot of miracles to see it all happen. Thank you for praying for us (and please do share anything God would show you).

Andrea graduates with her Masters on June 27 and she (and we) are all very excited to watch how God has fulfilled these things. She takes another teacher's certification test tomorrow so if you pray for wisdom, recall of all she's studied, and increasing grace I know she would appreciate it. Next month, I'll be headed to Sitka for some ministry time (tentatively July 10) so I appreciate your prayers for that.

May Update

I can't tell you enough how faithful God is in all things. The busyness of life hasn't diminished my excitement for all God is doing.

At the beginning of the month, I got to go to Sitka to be a part of an ordination service there. Everyone there is so fantastic and God is doing great things. It was a joy to be a part of this. Then on the National Day of Prayer, May 7, we joined with 21 churches from all over Juneau to pray for our city, state, and nation. I was honored to lead worship for this time, and God just showed up. As we were singing, there was a huge rainbow outside the window- just reminded me again of God's promises and truth.

There are still lots of things to do and believe for as we continue the relaunch of Breakthrough Church. I won't go into all of it now, but pray about our space that we'll have wisdom and faith to proceed as God would lead us. We continue reaching out and loving our community. We had a family night recently where we had so much fun, and this is just the beginning of many more great things God wants to do!

Thank you for continuing to pray for Andrea as she finishes up her Masters degree. It's been a crazy year, but God has been showing up in the middle of all of it. April Update

Exciting things are happening and God is worthy of praise.

Yesterday was Easter Sunday and our relaunch day. A lot has been done, but there’s a whole lot more to do. We had a wonderful service, filled with God’s goodness. Then we had a great time of fun and fellowship with lunch and festivities. We know that all the planning, all the work, all the prayers, and all that’s to come will have eternal impact. Lives have been and will be transformed!

I can’t say how much I appreciate the prayers as well as the support. Please keep praying that all the miracles we need to see (financial, work, and otherwise) will be done. Right now, we are specifically trying to get some extra space for expansion, but the manager seems to go back and forth. Pray that we have great favor and God moves his heart and the owners to give us what we need.

Andrea and I had an amazing time in Lake Havasu City, AZ and then celebrating our 10th anniversary. She’s finishing up her Masters—so exciting! It’s a little stressful right now, but God is faithful and she’s getting to live her dream, which is tremendous. She and I appreciate prayer for this as well!

Thank you all again and I believe that everything you sow in faith will advance God’s Kingdom. In the natural, it may seem like a hard time in many ways, but there is such an opportunity to see God move. His promises are sure, and I am thankful for your friendship. Number 1, I don’t like talking about myself! But the great news is God has done some amazing things in my life to bring me to this point (and I can talk about those things easily).

I’ve always been drawn to music and I am definitely passionate about it. The recordings that we’ve made are in response to God’s leading and direction, and I hope you are blessed and experience the presence of God as you listen and respond to Him.

I can truthfully say that I would not be doing what I’m doing if it were not for the power of worship. I used to be so shy, intimidated, and fearful that even though I wanted to use what I had to glorify God, I would shut down. I found God in the secret place though!

I spent so many hours by myself, just worshipping God, and found a freedom that has changed me forever. I know that God has freedom for each one of us and that as we worship, He comes more fully into perspective. Suddenly we see He is greater and bigger than our lacks, failures, insufficiencies, and fears.

That’s why whether I am leading worship, speaking, preaching, or whatever else—I am keenly aware that God has great freedom for those who will surrender their lives to Him. All we have to do is make the choice and rely on His grace.

A little more about the music...

Most of the songs I’ve written have been in my own quiet times or come out of prophetic worship released in church. I really believe that God has called me to write songs that are worshipful and declare His heart and purpose. On the live albums, you’ll find lots of spontaneous songs and passionate expression.

I’ve had the privilege to travel all over the US and around the world. A few of my songs have been published and used at the International Worship Institute, an amazing gathering of worshippers and leaders in Dallas, TX every summer.

I find myself humbled and amazed at how God uses this music to touch lives and bring change. It’s more than I can fully understand! I hope you check it out on the music page (and tell me what you think—both CD’s and downloads are available for all the music).

My name is Jason Stasyszen (I go by Jason Scott because Scott is my middle name and a little easier to say). I am husband to Andrea and father of three great kids. I am also the pastor of Breakthrough Church in Juneau, AK. I love blogging and engaging in great community no matter what form it takes. I have a passion for worship, the Church, seeing technology used effectively for Kingdom purposes, and sharing life with God’s people.
