Easter is a week away, and whether you celebrate it or not everyone loves the candy that is associated with it. I have fond memories of waking up on Easter Sunday is pretty new dresses and hats then looking down and our stained multi-colored hands from dying eggs.

Nestle, the maker of Wonka has several different varieties of candies to fill those baskets and eggs with. Our family was lucky enough to get to sample a few different varieties and my favorite is the Scrumdiddlyumptious bars. Of course you can go old school too with perfect egg sized packages of Gobstoppers, Spree and SweeTarts.

They will compete this spring and summer in track and field events ranging from the standing long jump and softball throw to a variety of running and relay races – and all at no cost of entry. To program culminates each year with the HERSHEY’S Track & Field Games North American Final Meet in Hershey, Pa. Held each year in August, the North American Final Meet hosts 450 outstanding young participants in a fun and exciting, all-expenses paid weekend trip to Hershey. During the weekend, participants tour the world’s largest chocolate factory and visit Hersheypark amusement park, among other exciting activities.

Nine-time Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis and Olympic decathlon legend Rafer Johnson will again return as HERSHEY’s Track & Field Games ambassadors in 2011.

To further encourage physical activity among kids and families, Hershey is teaming up with the Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program to collect old, worn-out athletic shoes to be recycled into Nike Grind, a material used in creating athletic and playground surfaces, as well as select Nike products. Program participants will be invited to bring used athletic shoes to state and provincial meets, which will then be recycled into Nike Grind. A HERSHEY’s Track & Field Games playground will be awarded to a participating local community as part of the program’s work with Nike’s Reuse-A-Shoe program. Since its inception in the early 1990’s, Nike’s Reuse-A-Shoe program has recycled more than 25 million pairs of athletic shoes into Nike Grind.

First off I was skeptical about something you added at the beginning of your wash cycle and mixed it with your clothing vs adding it in the rinse cycle. But my opinion quickly changed.

It is 92% natural so the crystals don't leave an oily residue on your clothes. It actually infuses fibers with the long-lasting fragrance which makes it great to even use on towels. I normally wouldn't use fabric softeners on my towels because traditional softeners create and oily build up and make them less absorbent. My favorite recipe for the holidays is spritz cookies. Mix together 2 1/4 cups flour, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder. Cut in 1 cup butter - mix up well. Add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Put through cookie press onto ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate with colored sugars - bake 375 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes and enjoy!!

The holiday season is upon us. Hopefully the weather will get cooler in my parts (we have had record high temps the past few days). Around this time of year many people think about sending out holiday cards.
