However, I had always had a well paying regular job and I suppose that prevented me from putting everything I had into trying to make a go of it. I wandered from one opportunity to another, never quite figuring out why I couldn’t get the results that the top earners were getting.

Well, over the last few years I have been taking online marketing very seriously and I have purchased numerous courses, DVDs, CDs and gone to a number of expensive seminars. What I have learned during this period of time has been priceless but I still felt that there was more that I could be doing to move ahead in my chosen business opportunity.

Everywhere I turned over the last few years, I have been told over and over again that the “old school” way of doing business was dead…..the only way to make it big was to be on the internet and have people coming to you. Yes, it was all about positioning yourself and having folks chasing you down.

Sounded great….and I bought into it hook, line and sinker.

So what type of results was a getting? I can tell you that I was not over the moon with happiness. Yes….I was creating a presence on the web and people were visiting my website but, in most cases, those visits did not culminate in sales.

What the heck was going on?

After much soul searching and constructive thinking, I made a difficult decision. I decided that the business opportunity I was in was not the right fit for me. I was a long time hold out. I did not want to make a change. In my mind, it meant that I was giving up. But the more that I thought about it, the more I realized that I had given this Company more than 100% of my time and efforts and it had not been enough. I had to figure out why.

After much thought, I realized that I truly was not passionate about the Company or its product. I still believe that it’s the best product on the market in that arena…..but it was not a subject that I had an affinity for.

So, what was I to do? I had received much advice from the likes of Bob Proctor, John Assaraf, Napoleon Hill and other deep thinkers and without exception they all said that to be truly successful a person has to be passionate about what they are doing.

I receive regular e-mails from Perry Marshall and one such e-mail arrived just at the right time. Perry said one of the biggest mistakes a person could make was to stick with something that definitely was not working, after giving it everything you’ve got.

People get confused when they are told that they should never, ever give up. I felt that if I gave up on my old Company I was a failure. Well, the truth is that I was not giving up on my dream. I was being realistic in realizing that this Company was not the right fit for me and I needed to find out where that would be.

The next step, then, was to find my passion. Ever since I can remember I have always been interested in health issues and helping others to maintain or regain their health. I knew I had to find something in the health field that I could feel strongly enough about. In the past I had been District Manager for Health & Welfare Canada and also received my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and worked for a while as a Nutritional Consultant and a Master Herbalist.

I needed to find a business and a product that I could relate to on a deep level. It took a while, but the Law of Attraction never fails to work and as I constantly thought about the type of product I wanted to sell and the type of people I wanted to help, one momentous day, there it was.

I severed my ties with my old Company and joyously aligned myself with a Company and a product that I truly believe everyone on this planet could benefit greatly from.

I could hardly believe it, but in a matter of weeks I was making sales. I had a product that was desperately needed in the marketplace and all my previous training on marketing etc., was immediately put to good use.

So, if anyone is reading this and feels that they are giving up if they decide that the primary company that they are involved in is not the right fit for them….please relax, sit back and give it some insightful thought. Ask yourself some important questions. Here are just two examples:-

(a)      What am I passionate about;

(b)      Is the product I am involved in something that only appeals to a very small percentage of the population;

Doing business is so much easier when you have a product that all the population uses on a daily basis.

I have found such a product and I am thrilled to be able to share it with everyone I come in contact with.

Have a wonderful, successful day!

If you ever have an opportunity to do something like this, please just go for it. What you will learn will be invaluable.

There were about 18 of us in the Group and Mike took half an hour or so with each person while the rest of us listened. When it was our turn we could ask Mike whatever we wanted. He also critiqued our capture pages, sales pages, blogs etc. and gave immediate feedback on what we needed to do to improve them. Naturally, this was a highlight for each of us.

However, it was equally as productive for us to listen to the feedback he was giving to everyone else. There would be questions that you had forgotten to ask that someone else would ask and the entire group then benefited.

There were people involved in various different types of businesses….but what Mike was teaching covered the entire spectrum.

It was at this Elite Mastermind Event that I made the decision to change companies. My passion has always been health and the company I was in at the time dealt with financial education. There is no question that it’s an area that is extremely important, especially in this day and age but my heart was more attuned to the health field as opposed to the financial field.

So I made the change. Now the wonderful thing about doing something like that is when you follow Mike’s teaching, it’s really all about you. People are wanting to do business with you and not your company or product. So if you get everything set us as Mike shows us to do in Traffic Formula 2 then making a switch in companies is not going to be a big deal.

You will hear many people say that it doesn’t matter what the product is….it’s all about the marketing. I disagree with that opinion. I truly believe that if the product is not something that people really need and want, then you are making life and your business much harder that it needs to be.

You are definitely going to be more successful selling a product that has wonderful benefits for just about everyone. Really….that’s a marketers dream come true.

I believe that I have found such a product and I am thrilled to share it with people. If you are interested in learning what I switched to you can check it out at www.GetAlkalizedWithKangen.com. You can also check out the compensation plan at www.GetAlkalizedWithKangen.org.

I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to have mentors. It can shave literally years off the learning curve on your way to becoming a successful internet marketer.

I know Mike is a great believer in attraction marketing. I have read numerous books about this subject but I am sure I will be learning some very important additional golden nuggets this coming weekend.

This will also be my very first time visiting Texas. I’m ready to go already!!

For example, a friend of mine thinks she wants to sell her house and move out to the country. This has been on her mind for a number of years and yet she is still living in the same old house. So, why is that?

The reason is, she thinks she wants to move out to the country but her everyday actions don’t support that. She has relatives that live close by that she loves to visit regularly. She wouldn’t be able to do this if she moved. She has many favorite restaurants where she lives now and also a good theatre that she enjoys going to. She has umpteen friends also.

She runs a business from her home and has everything set up just so….it all seems to work very well for her. However, in the back of her mind the thought of moving to the country is very attractive.

So what is the problem here?

The problem is that she has not committed to the move. There is a lot of conflict about leaving behind the familiar and moving far away from loved ones.

So, will she ever make the move? Not likely, if she keeps on thinking the way she is right now. She is going to have to be 100% behind the move and all of her actions and thoughts have to be aligned with it.

We have all heard that you can be, do and have whatever you want. I truly believe this to be true, but for it to happen you have to be putting the right vibes out into the Universe so as to attract the people and the circumstances to bring this about.

Because my friend is not sold completely on moving (although she thinks she is) then it probably will not happen until she changes her way of thinking. We have to want something so deeply that we can feel ourselves actually receiving it and enjoying it. Do this long enough and with conviction and you might be surprised to see the fantastic results you will get.

Tomorrow, I will tell you about an example in my own life of getting clear on something that I had thought I wanted to happen and the results.

Have a great day!

* What is motivating you to go to your JOB each and every day?

* Why do you overeat at every meal?

* Why do you sit watching the TV every night instead of going for that walk you always talk about?

The questions could go on and on….but do we really ask ourselves these questions with the view to actually answering them. Most of us just make off-the-cuff comments about the way we conduct our lives. Yes, we halfheartedly ask the questions but do nothing to come up with meaningful answers.

For us to properly answer any of these types of questions, we have to understand why we are doing certain things. Let’s just take the second question as an example. What is the motivating force that has you going back every day to your JOB, whatever that might be? You could be a teacher or you could be a six-figure income earner in a top corporate company. It makes no difference what your job is when it comes to personal self-examination.

Obviously, you are the only one that can accurately answer the question, but here are some possible reasons, depending on the particular job you have:

*     You have no education, so this is all you are qualified to do;

*     This was the profession your father was in and you went to University to get the proper education to qualify;

*     You have a family to provide for so you have to feel safe and secure in your job;

*     You need to know a certain amount of money is coming in every week to pay your bills;

*     There is a lot of prestige that goes along with your position;

* People in the community respect you and that makes you feel good.

These are just a few examples….there are many more reasons that have you going each day to the same job.

The question now is whether you are going there for all the right reasons. Most people think they are in full control of their lives, when in actual fact, life is just happening to them and it is not a result of any meaningful thoughts or actions on their part.

Probably one of the first questions to ask yourself in relation to your job is whether this is really and truly what you want to be doing with your life. If you could be anything you wanted to be, without having to worry about finances and other factors, what would you be? What was your dream as a child or a young person and why did you veer away from that dream?

I am not saying that you can instantly make major changes in your life but unless you ask these crucial questions, you are probably never going to achieve the things that are truly in your heart. You might not be able to make a huge leap at the present time, but I am sure that there would be some step you could take in the right direction. I recall a story about a woman who longed to be a pianist as a youngster but, as is often the case, life happened. Before she knew it, she was married and had a few children to care for. She had a part-time job at a local grocery store.

She went through this exercise and realized that her dream of being a pianist was still there. She then made the conscious decision to sign up for piano lessons and little by little she became more and more proficient at playing the piano. Soon she was playing on Sunday at her local church and later she was invited to play at a few concerts. She is continuing to improve and is looking forward to actually becoming a piano teacher herself and she says she could not be any happier. She will be able to work from her home and therefore there will be little to no disruption in her ability to take care of her family.

Until we engage in some self-examination, it’s not likely that our lives with change in any measurable way and we will continue to be like fallen leaves just blowing aimlessly in the wind.

So let’s do everything for all the right reasons and our lives will certainly then be meaningful and fulfilled.

If you are truly happy being one of them, then there is nothing wrong with that. I am certainly not advocating that everyone be a leader. This only becomes a problem when being a follower does not serve you in any way.

I would like to make it clear that we are not totally one or the other. Depending on the circumstances, we can fluctuate between the two. For example, if you are a school teacher then your position automatically puts you in the position as leader. That is what is expected of you by both the School and your students. However, if you are learning a new skill then you become the student and someone else is actually teaching you and they then become your leader, for a certain time.

This is perfectly normal. However, we want to do some self-examination to see if we are always placing ourselves in the role of follower out of laziness, lack of self-confidence or some other reason.

Ask yourself the following five questions:

* Do you feel like you are being held back because of your lack of assertiveness?
* Do you want to speak your mind at times but feel too timid to say anything?
* Do you feel angry that you are letting people make up your mind for you?
* Would you like to be able to stand your own ground when others disagree with you?
* Do you long to break out of your shell and learn to speak your own mind and express yourself well?

If you have answered “yes” to any of the above questions, then you are not happy in the role of a follower. You are certainly not locked into that role for the rest of your life and there are many things you can do to move into the role of a leader.

This is actually a choice that you can make. Go ahead and choose your own destiny, because if you don’t, then someone else will make that choice for you.

Have you ever noticed how you can pick a leader out in a group quite quickly. They seem to talk differently and have an air of self-confidence about them. They are not constantly changing their minds, depending on someone else’s opinion. They are in total control of their thoughts and are not swayed by other people. However, they have the ability to examine the facts and if something new will serve them better, then they can quickly make a decision, take the necessary action and then move on with their lives.

Leaders are not self-absorbed. They have a genuine concern for others and their aim is to somehow improve the lives of those that look up to them.

So if you are not happy with being a follower, then make that choice right now. Get out of your comfort zone and start doing things that a leader would do. There is plenty of room in the World for one more great leader…why not make it you?

There is usually quite a learning curve and you will proceed rather cautiously. This can be quite a slow process. However, you eventually get to the stage where your website it up and running, you have posted a number of videos to YouTube, you are interacting on Twitter and Facebook and you might even be writing the occasional article.

As you add additional activities so as to develop leads for your business, you begin to find that there are not enough hours in the day to perform all the functions regularly and efficiently.

For instance, you might wish to write a few articles a week, but find that the amount of time spent in researching your subject and then actually writing those articles is very time consuming. Maybe this is taking up so much of your time, that you are neglecting posting to your blog or networking on the social sites.

So what is the answer? Obviously, there are only so many hours in a day. The question is, how best to spend that time.

First of all, you would want to examine the effectiveness of what you are already doing. Are your articles bringing in leads and are they getting you great Google placements? If they are, then your time would seem to be well spent on your article writing. On the other hand, if you are spending a huge amount of time writing your articles and they are not getting many viewings, perhaps you should consider outsourcing this portion of your business. Elance.com lists numerous people who provide unique articles for you at a very reasonable cost.

Perhaps you have been working for weeks or even months, on trying to get a website up and running. You are trying to do your own capture pages but they still don’t look very professional. This is another thing that can very easily be outsourced. This would be a one-time cost unlike the article writing, which would probably be an ongoing expense.

Just think of all the time you might have wasted trying to get a website up and running by yourself. If you had outsourced this, you would have had the website out there working for you for the last number of months. You want your pages to look professional and it is very difficult for a beginner to create and optimize a webpage effectively. Spending your money in this area is definitely money well spent. Ask around for references and check out the work that the designer has done for other people. There are many styles and formats available and you will like some more than others.

Sometimes, we have the mentality that we have to do everything ourselves or we are not genuine. This is very faulty thinking. The majority of successful internet marketers outsource a good portion of their work. The big decision that you have to make is deciding what your strengths and weaknesses are. Once you are clear on this, it becomes relatively easy to decide what you want to outsource. Don’t try to be an expert at everything. It will not work.

The success you are looking for will be achieved much quicker if you outsource those things that you are either not good at or that you take no pleasure in doing. You will wonder why you did not start to outsource long before now!

I am not saying that I do not think that Mothers and Fathers should not be honored. I believe that they should be honored every single day. Think about this for a moment….as a Mother which would you prefer…to have a child that showed you love and consideration on a daily basis or one that paid you very little heed during the year but sent you a bunch of flowers on Mother’s Day, because it was the thing to do.

I am sure that there are many children out there who care deeply for their mothers, but they don’t have any money to buy them something. A mother is going to appreciate a hand made card from a child probably even more than a fancy gift, because it has come from the heart.

As a mother, I have a little drawer with a few hand made gifts from my son when he was a young boy. He is going to be 36 yrs. old this year and I treasure these little things more than any gift he could buy me in the store.

My own mother and my mother-in-law have both passed away now but I look back fondly on the fact that both my husband and I expressed our love to them by our words and actions, as often as we were able. We didn’t need a special day to be told to do this.

Please, when tomorrow comes, don’t forget your Mom. Until you yourselves are parents, you will not understand how precious and meaninful your loving expressions are to them.

Success seems to elude the majority of people. If you were to ask them why they have not been able to succeed, they probably would not have a clue. They might say something to the effect that they were never given an opportunity, or that they just didn't have enough money to get started. Honestly, these are just mere excuses. We all make them and they roll off the tip of our tongue so easily. However, invariably, these are not the real reasons why we have failed in our endeavours to be successful.

More and more people are starting a home-based business these days. They have been forced into a corner due to the economy and the possibility that any day now they will lose their job that they have held for umpteen years. They are joining the ranks of the self-employed. Most of them have never worked for themselves before. If you are one of them, then you might find these five keys to success very helpful.

THINK BIG Our thoughts are extremely powerful. We actually create our future with our thoughts. If we are thinking small, then undoubtedly our results will likewise be small. It takes no more energy to think big than it does to think small. This might necessitate a whole new way of thinking for you but believe me when I say that you literally think your way to success. Don’t be your own worst enemy by underestimating your ability to accomplish your goals.

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF Don’t allow yourself to be influenced by what other people think of your ideas. They might even be your closest friends or family. It’s not that they don’t want to support you, but often, in their minds, they are trying to protect you from failure. However, to be a success you are going to have to learn to handle failure. All highly successful people have failed numerous times. They have learned from their mistakes and moved forward with their dreams.

SHARE THE VISION Don’t keep your goals to yourself. Share with others what your plans are. This can have a powerful effect on your mindset, keeping you accountable for your actions. Just one word of caution here though…choose carefully the people you share your goals with. There is no point in choosing someone that is not going to be supportive.

FOCUS AND EXECUTE It won’t take you very long to realize that success is not going to arrive on your doorstep by osmosis. You have to be very clear about what it is you want to accomplish. Write your goals down….both long term and short term goals. Create a plan of action and commit this to paper also listing the steps you are going to take to achieve your goal. Celebrate as you achieve each small step towards the ultimiate goal, realizing that each success takes you one step closer.

NEVER, EVER GIVE UP I am sure you have heard this before. It’s so easy to say never give up, but that’s what the majority of people do when the going gets tough. That’s when most people tell themselves that they must have been crazy to think that they could make a go of it. This is the time when you have to dig deep and understand that you were created with the ability to be, do and have whatever you want. It’s not going to be given to you on a silver platter, but with the proper knowledge and consistent effort, it can and will be yours.

Set yourself up for success by paying close attention to these five keys and you will be well on your way to realizing your dreams.

The school system has failed dismally is educating our children in financial matters. We now have a society of young people who have no idea how to handle their money effectively. Fortunately for some children, they have responsible parents who have taken their responsibility seriously and have educated their children, to the best of their ability, in financial matters.
But where does that leave all the other children?

If we allow ourselves to be perfectly honest, we have to admit that what worked for us financially in the past, doesn’t seem to be effective anymore. Unemployment is at an all time high, the economy is dismal and the stock and real estate markets have imploded. You likely know of someone who has either lost a great deal of money in the stock and real estate markets, or is perhaps on the verge of losing their job, or even their home.

Not too many people welcome change. Most don’t respond well to it and it is very uncomfortable for them when they feel they are being forced to make a change in their lives. These days, a persons comfort zone actually equates to their failure zone. It might be difficult to do, but most of us are going to have to step outside that comfort zone and make some major changes.

Think back to when you were in school. How much education did you have on handling your finances. I would venture to say that most of you received no financial education at all. If you were lucky, you had parents who realized their responsibility and taught you everything they knew. Perhaps they showed you how to balance a checkbook and how to budget your monthly income. If you did have parents like this, then you were one of the lucky ones. Because of the strong influence parents have on their children, most kids just followed their parents example in how they handled their money. If the parents lived from paycheck to paycheck, then the children probably followed suit.

This limited financial education might have been enough during good times, but the good times are over and you are now probably feeling like you are groping around with a blindfold on, trying to make sense of it all. It seems like it has happened overnight, but for those in the know, there have been warning signs. Those in the know, are actually able to benefit financially from this economic downturn but they are a very small minority.

However, as the saying goes “it’s never too late to learn”. You don’t have to have a University education to understand the fundamentals to enable you to take charge of your financial future.

Robert Kiyosaki, the author of “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” and “Rich Dad’s Prophecy”, has been writing for over 10 years now, delivering the financial education message as vocally as he possibly can. He started to learn about the world of finance as a very young child and he is a strong advocate for financial education in the school systems. He is a perfect example of the fact that it is never too early to start educating our children about money matters. Even more significantly for most of us, it is never too late to begin our financial education.

I highly recommend that you read these two books by Robert Kiyosaki. They will be a good start to your journey of learning how to move ahead in 2009, making the right financial decisions that will serve you well in the future.
