<p><strong>WOD- Good ol&#8217; basics to get the heart rate up and body in motion.<br />
</strong></p>
<p>Kettlebell swings: 2 x 25 / 2 x 25 with heavier bell.</p>
<p>Tire Sled: 3 x 40yds front / 2x 40yds back</p>
<p>Cone Cardio: 5 mins moderate intensity</p>
<p>It feels good, but still lacking.  Still no burpees, pull or push ups, or push presses in sight.  We take progress and move on to the next step.</p>
<p>I will post workouts and food outlines during the 8 week challenge as well.  It&#8217;ll be a great way to stay accountable, and possibly win some cash.  <em>More on that below&#8230;</em></p>

<p>The &#8216;diet&#8217; continues to be tweaked and improved on as I learn more and more info.  Not to mention, a little discipline here and there helps.  <strong><em>We all know, it &#8216;aint easy&#8217;.</em></strong> Right???  I must admit, my new found interest (to put it VERY conservatively) in nutrition has taken up a great deal of my time.  I must apologize for my lack of rants thru the site.  I&#8217;ll make sure I get back on it!</p>

<p><strong>My nutrition goal is simple; learn to live off of, and enjoy, real food all the time.</strong></p>
<p>Understanding &#8216;real food&#8217; is not so simple.  (that&#8217;s the reason we go on so many fad diets) Even more confusing is the human body and the nutritional needs we have.  There is only a few things I am sure about&#8230;and <em>I&#8217;m pretty sure we&#8217;ve been duped as a nation of eaters.  Just remember, if we keep eating shit&#8230;they&#8217;ll keep feeding us shit. </em>(First time readers can find the long GMO post on our <a href="http://jabmax.com/2010/02/12/whats-the-deal-with-all-this-gmo-talk/" target="_blank">current food supply here)</a><em><br />

<p>But, enough of those rants for now.  My fitness goals will change as my body heals and the workouts progress.  For now, we embark on a new challenge.  <a href="http://www.authenticstg.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">AST Gym</a> is holding an 8 week challenge on March 1, and it&#8217;s $35 to get in.  Anyone local in the Anaheim or LA area is encouraged to sign up!  Check the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/people/Tony-Falaro/24607775#!/pages/Santa-Fe-Springs-CA/Authentic-Strength-Training/151172889458?ref=nf" target="_blank">Facebook Page here</a> and email Tony for more info.</p>
<p>There is also a <a href="http://www.ecomudruntour.com/oc/indexoc.html" target="_blank">Mud Run coming up in Irvine</a>.  This is coming up in April, and would also be sweet to partake in!  It&#8217;s been almost 90 days of no beastliness and for the most part, I have done my part and stayed away from the weights and tires and such.  I have kept my mind exercised and focused in other areas.  I think we have enough to attack now. <em> Let&#8217;s stop worrying about what we don&#8217;t have, and focus on what we do have&#8230;and can do.</em></p>
<p>Of course we have to start very slow again, but we must focus on steady progress.</p>
<p>Folks, I think it&#8217;s time we made some noise again! Now, go throw something around and piss off your neighbors..</p>

<p>Beez in peez, I must apologize for my absence.  Fear not, as it was for good reason.  As you can see by this post (and fellow facebookers have seen) I have been all over this topic lately.  I&#8217;m pretty pissed.</p>
<p>The truth is, I have some disturbing news to report.  I have read so much, and have looked into so many things..it is borderline obsessed.  Ok, it is&#8230;</p>
<p>Anyhow, <strong>we need to discuss a topic that is an issue for EVERY HUMAN alive.  What we are here to discuss is FOOD&#8230;.again. </strong> But wait, this time it is<em> different. </em> It is not about carbs, proteins, or just basic food in general.  Even tho I do not agree with people eating junk food, it is going to happen.  And even though I am aware of the crap in products that boast <em>health claims</em>, such as high in fiber or great source of anything&#8230;I know not everyone has the time or energy to put  into all of this.</p>

<p><strong>And really, why should they?  We have &#8216;people&#8217; in place for this.  And if you eat a certain amount of calories per day and make sure you get your RDA of all your vitamins and what not..you&#8217;re &#8216;healthy&#8217;.  I even stay away from red meat and get a good portion of my protein from soy products.  I don&#8217;t have to eat factory meat and I get protein, great!  I mean, if you eat raw veggies, organic or not, frozen, or your fruit is in a can, or frozen or fresh&#8230;as long as i keep my calories down and get what I need (RDA)&#8230; I am doing better than average people.  Right??</strong></p>

<p><strong>But this time I am going to show some sympathy&#8230;I will admit, it is NOT your fault.</strong></p>
<p>Mike, get to the damn point already, we got shit to do&#8230;  Ok, Ok&#8230;<strong>we are here to talk about GMO and GE (food)</strong> Genetically Modified Organisms and Genetically Engineered food.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t gasp, and dismiss this as just another rant.  I must admit, I didnt agree with it&#8230;but I didn&#8217;t understand the issues.  All I knew was &#8216;processed and refined foods&#8217; were usually packed with sugars and make you fat.  It is much worse than I previously thought.  <strong><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetically_modified_food" target="_blank"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">GMO?</span></a> Isn&#8217;t that how they make fake fruits and clone animals? Ummm&#8230;not exactly.</strong></p>
<p>Let me explain.</p>

GMOs are not safe, but have been in the food supply since 1996 and are now present in the vast majority of processed foods in the US.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><strong><span style="font-family: Verdana,Helvetica; color: #000000; font-size: xx-small;">Before we get started, I would like you to understand I have read and searched all sorts of angles. One video or article leads to many references, that lead to many other references.  We, as a public, and as a money spending consumer, do not know as much as we should.<br />

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><span style="font-family: Verdana,Helvetica; color: #000000; font-size: xx-small;">3 key points concern me the most.</span></strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana,Helvetica; color: #000000; font-size: xx-small;"><strong>1. <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Public Ignorance:</span> </strong> We are either too busy, or just don&#8217;t care.  Or more than likely, we have been lied to and deceived by the very same people put in place to protect us.  OK, maybe not lied to per se&#8230;but definitely not given the attention we deserve.  Most people aren&#8217;t even aware of vetoes being placed on GMO labels.  Arnold vetoes <a title="Raw Milk" href="http://www.ethicurean.com/2008/10/03/schwarzenegger-goaded-into-raw-milk-veto-dairies-may-have-to-lose-to-win/" target="_blank">RAW MILK</a>, <a title="Clone Labels" href="http://www.consumersunion.org/food/CAGOV-cloning-ltr.pdf" target="_blank">Mandatory Clone Labeling</a> <strong> </strong>It is flat out shocking how much people don&#8217;t understand, or care to understand.  I will explain why you should.  <strong><br />
</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana,Helvetica; color: #000000; font-size: xx-small;"><strong>2.  <span style="text-decoration: underline;">The past, and the money trail.</span> </strong>The disturbing past of this company leading the charge is enough to warrant suspicion to begin with.  Also, if you follow the revolving door between companies and the FDA (your protectors) you will find out it is nothing short of good ol politics.  This time, they&#8217;re fuckin with our food.  No you di-int! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana,Helvetica; color: #000000; font-size: xx-small;">Here is the latest FDA leader, <a href="http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/2009/ucm170842.htm" target="_blank">Michael Taylor.</a> Here is a <a href="http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_18866.cfm" target="_blank">disturbing article</a> about some of his work. Notice the part about helping Africa out.  If you do some research on BT cotton in India, you&#8217;ll find out the last time we did this it didn&#8217;t go so well.  <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL1pKlnhvg0" target="_blank">Oh yeah, hes also the Milk Man&#8230;remember the whole rBST or rBHG issue?</a> Just do a simple search on it.  It&#8217;ll be fun.  There is plenty of others I will briefly cover in the coming posts. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Verdana,Helvetica; color: #000000; font-size: xx-small;"><strong>Monsanto Company</strong> is the corporation (extension of the FDA, cough, cough)leading this whole thing.  Started in 1901 as a chemical company, the makers of Round Up, and named Forbes company of the year in 2009.  <a href="http://www.laleva.cc/pharma/monsantofiles.html#Anchor-Saccharin-45800" target="_blank">If you have time, feel free to check out some of the remarkable things they&#8217;ve manage to put together&#8230;such as Agent Orange, and DDT</a>.  Follow the money far enough and you&#8217;ll find them all over the making of the sweeteners that are widely debated.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana,Helvetica; color: #000000; font-size: xx-small;"><strong>3.  <span style="text-decoration: underline;">We just do not know, and neither do they</span>. </strong> The numerous negative reports on this stuff (world wide) and the lack of attention it gets in the US.  <a href="Labelling in the EU is mandatory for products derived from modern biotechnology or products containing GM organisms. " target="_blank">In The Europe Union, labeling is mandatory. (Q 14)</a> Many companies such as McDonalds stopped using GMO in EU&#8230;but they have no problem doing it here.   There has not been any extensive studies done on it (regarding humans) and instead, the FDA continues to accept studies done by the &#8216;industry&#8217;.    <a href="http://www.biolsci.org/v05p0438.htm#headingA5" target="_blank">Skeptical scientist all over the world</a> have spoken out about this and have asked to be shown &#8217;scientifically&#8217; how it is safe&#8230;only to be dismissed as a fear monger.  They have agreed the connection between increase of allergies amongst other things cannot be dismissed without further testing.  Still Monsanto goes ahead with Beet Sugar and Bio Tech Wheat.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Verdana,Helvetica; color: #000000; font-size: xx-small;">This is an article of <a href="http://www.who.int/foodsafety/publications/biotech/20questions/en/" target="_blank">20 Questions</a> on GMO food, found on the WHO website.  Note Q8 as it states </span><em>GM foods and their safety should be assessed on a case-by-case basis and that it is not possible to make general statements on the safety of all GM foods.&#8221;  but they go on to say all foods on the market have been tested and do not pose a danger. They continue with..    &#8220;Continuous use of risk assessments based on the <a href="http://www.fsis.usda.gov/Codex_Alimentarius/index.asp" target="_blank">Codex</a> principles and, <strong>where appropriate, including post market monitoring</strong>, should form the basis for evaluating the safety of GM foods.&#8221;</em></p>

You must understand that this is widely used in processing, oils, feed for animals that produces our meat, milk, eggs, cheese, and other daily items.  <a href="http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2009/jul/15/monsanto-dives-genetically-modified-wheat/" target="_blank">They are now working with beets to make sugar, and wheat to make biotech wheat.</a> Second, these people are DECIDING FOR US and basically with the lack of testing, and labeling, and vetoes, they are doing a good job in showing that money and politics are much more important than ensuring we are safe if we use this stuff long term.</strong></p>

<p>1.  Too many &#8216;cholos&#8217; in tank-tops that have too many tattoos.</p>
<p>2.  The same &#8216;cholos&#8217; with big arms and tiny legs.</p>
<p>3.  Too many fat chicks chatting.</p>
<p>4.  Too many naked people talking and &#8216;hanging&#8217; out.</p>
<p>5.  The sauna and steam room are always packed, with bacteria as well.</p>
<p>6.  Too many guys on the phone.</p>
<p>7.  Too many guys flexing 13 inch biceps in the mirror.</p>
<p>8.  Too many guys flexing WHILE on the phone.</p>
<p>9.  The music is a joke, if you can even hear it over the chatter.</p>
<p>10.  No chalk allowed.</p>
<p>11.  Two rower machines, one broken, and 44 treadmills and bikes.</p>
<p>12.  There is always someone with a set of dumbbells from 25-50lbs, increments of 2.5lbs, at their feet.</p>
<p>13.  Ive never seen a trainer teaching a squat or deadlift.</p>
<p>14.  Whats a kettlebell, and a air what bike?</p>
<p>15.  Thieves in the locker room.</p>
<p>16.  Everyone is an expert.</p>
<p>17.  Gym employees bringing Carls Jr. in for lunch.</p>
<p>18.  Too many fat front desk clerks.</p>
<p>19.  Power racks are always being used for something besides squats.</p>
<p>20.  Twenty two sit up benches and one GHR set-up.</p>
<p>21.  The only place to do pull ups is always being used for cable cross-overs.</p>
<p>22.  People rest on things intended for box jumps.</p>
<p>23.  No ropes.  Possibly to prevent suicide from boredom.</p>
<p>24.  They have a supplement brand to push, but nobody knows shit about what they&#8217;re selling, except &#8216;its the best out there!&#8217;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Good morning, its time for a healthy breakfast&#8230;don&#8217;t worry&#8230;you&#8217;re KIDS will eat it!  Or however that commercial went with the cereal.  Wasn&#8217;t it KIX or something?</p>
<p>Anyhow, a few more rules for food&#8230;once again, all info is found in Michael Pollan&#8217;s book, Food Rules.</p>
<p><strong>1. Avoid cereals as breakfast, and ALWAYS avoid cereals that change the color of your milk. </strong></p>
<p>We all had a favorite cereal, and always loved the sweet taste of the milk after turned to chocolate milk or some weird greenish color from the lucky charms.  Up until early 2009, I was a cereal at midnight type of guy.</p>
<p>I try to avoid &#8216;cereal meals&#8217; completely now&#8230;and I still think oatmeal is a much better option if you need that much energy in one bowl.</p>
<p><strong>2.  Avoid &#8216;poser&#8221; foods.  You may prefer to call them &#8216;food substitutes&#8217; but it&#8217;s just another test tube experiment put into food like form. </strong></p>
<p>Think..margarine, sweeteners, and egg substitutes.  It&#8217;s fake food.  I will allow you to research your favorite substitutes on your own time.</p>
<p><strong>3.  Do NOT eat &#8216;As Seen on TV&#8217; Foods.  In other words; foods that have their own commercials.<br />
</strong></p>
<p>This &#8216;usually&#8217; holds true for fitness items as well.  Anyways&#8230;the reason is simple.  Real food producers (farmers) do not have a budget to advertise.  There are a few exceptions such as the egg commercials, and other farmer union ones.  There aren&#8217;t many of these at all.</p>
<p>A few that come to mind&#8230;It aint eazy being cheezy. Cheetos.  Bet you can&#8217;t eat just one.  Also, the stupid oreo commercials.  Coke and Pepsi out the ying yang.  According to my TV, almost every breakfast cereal is good for you.  I think Taco Bell recently came out with a &#8216;diet menu&#8217; and is now advertising it like crazy.  Hot chicks advertising chips, or burgers.  Fun loving, healthy looking, straight A student type kids- drinking all sorts of JUICES.  It&#8217;s colored sugar water, folks.  Read the damn ingredients.</p>

<p>The WOD Files will be various workouts (all having YouTube clips) that we did last year.  All things considered, it was a good year and we all have plenty to be grateful for.  Lets have a &#8216;killlit&#8217; 2010 or if you prefer, a Beastly 1-0.</p>

<p>Anyhow, on with the show.  Here is the workout in words first, followed by a more &#8216;rugged&#8217; stone version of the workout as well.   Benzilla is a true soldier and makes no excuses.</p>
<p><strong>1 minute stations for 3 rounds.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Rest 1 minute after each round.</strong></p>
<p><strong>-Wall Ball; can also be a medicine ball squat to jumping press straight up into the air if a wall is not available.   This can be done with stones (obviously in a big open area) by doing a squat to a stone throw (Incline press for distance) as far as possible.</strong></p>
<p><strong>-Box Jumps; this can also be substituted for tuck jumps or plyo (jumping) lunges.  For the stone workout, use a park table to do box jumps, or just jump over the stone(s), both forward, and lateral.  This exercise is pretty universal&#8230;</strong></p>
<p><strong>-Kettlebell plie squat / or Sumo deadlift highpulls;  This can be altered for ROM, and equipment issues as well. For your stone workout, just do good ol&#8217; fashion stone loading.  Choose something moderate enough to do reps with if possible.</strong></p>
<p><strong>-Push press;  You may not be able to bounce a sharp pointy stone into your chest over and over, but you should be able to replicate the movement for the most part&#8230;</strong></p>
<p><strong>-50 yard sprint/run; Running in the sand is even better.</strong></p>

<p>Slowly but surely, I intend to change my eating habits for good.  I must admit, it is hard to change so many years worth of habits&#8230;not to mention, educate myself as much as possible on the types of foods available.  (the manufacturers will not do that for you)</p>
<p>Yes, it is overwhelming&#8230;and <strong>NOBODY is going to be perfect.  I don&#8217;t give a shit what they say, everyone has faults and fuck ups</strong>.  The idea is to make them &#8216;treats or cheats&#8217; in moderation.  Another side note; moderation is not &#8216;a little everyday&#8217;.</p>
<p>I am currently doing plenty of &#8216;reading, research, and personal experiments on myself&#8230;and doing the best I can to find &#8216;real food&#8217; readily available.</p>
<p><strong>Let us start off with a few basic rules I will work on to make a constant habit.</strong></p>
<p>Please note; I am not even close to being smart enough to make these &#8216;rules&#8217; up.  I highly recommend you purchasing &#8220;Food Rules&#8221; which is easy to read, simple to understand, and sticks to a few basic rules&#8230;.it is written by Michael Pollan.  It&#8217;s a paperback, and will run you about $11.  This book will soon be a part of all my beez in peez reading arsenal.  I got mine at Borders, but im sure a search of Google will yield you many purchasing option.</p>
<p>On with a few of the rules.  This first one is not from the book, but I think it needs to be repeated&#8230;LOUDLY.</p>
<p><strong>1.  Eat MORE fruits and vegetables. </strong></p>
<p>Let us worry about it being organic once we learn to eat more fruits and vegetables.   I repeat, EAT MORE fruits and vegetables.  Unless you are already highly skilled at this, it is safe to say you probably need to double your daily fruits and vegetables intake.  I repeat, FRUITS AND VEGETABLES&#8230;not grains and flour.  Once you can eat them, then begin looking for a farmers market or organic CA grown products.</p>

<p><strong>2.  Avoid packages.</strong></p>
<p>Of course you&#8217;ll need packages for a few items&#8230; and i guess you can count an egg carton a &#8216;package&#8217;&#8230;but I am more referring to the frozen, microwavable, crackers and cookies type of packages.  Guess what?  Fresh fruits and vegetables usually don&#8217;t come in a package!</p>
<p><strong>3.  If it has more than 5 ingredients&#8230;BEWARE. </strong></p>
<p>Adding to this rule; If you&#8217;ve never heard of the ingredients, or wouldn&#8217;t use them at home&#8230;avoid them.  Have you ever used cellulose, maltodextrin, or all types of phosphates and gums&#8230;whatever the fuck those are, to cook at home?  I highly doubt it.  For example, butter is real butter&#8230;margarine is a bunch of fake chemicals.  Wouldn&#8217;t you think bread should just contain either flour or wheat flour? HAAAA!!  Go grab your bread now, ill wait.  You&#8217;re going to be shocked to find out how much SHIT is in that $1 loaf of bread you thought was a great deal.  All chemicals designed to preserve shelf life and make a bigger profit.</p>

<p><strong>4.</strong> <strong>REAL food is more expensive.</strong></p>
<p>So, I understand &#8216;times are tough&#8217; and nobody has a bunch of money to spend on healthy food.  BUT&#8230;here is the but, with whole, real. healthy food&#8230;it takes less to feel &#8216;full and satisfied&#8217; and I won&#8217;t even get into the medical costs associated with poor eating habits.  You will have to shop more, because real food dies faster than bulk packs of frozen items from Costco..so stop making excuses and shop more. <strong> REAL FOOD DIES FASTER.</strong></p>
<p>I, personally, shop at a few stores looking for the best values.  I will buy meat and freeze it if needed, and I also frequent the &#8216;discount&#8217; rack at all the stores I visit.  Most items will be expiring in the next few days, but the discount is worth the trouble of cooking them right away.</p>
<p><strong>In our society today, we have put too much emphasis on quantity over quality.  The &#8217;savings&#8217; is passed on to the consumer with plenty of health issues to go with it.</strong></p>
<p>You may have to cut back on some other things, such as; bar trips, vacations, material items, movies, eating out, golf, getting your hair and nails done weekly, and other various leisure activities.  BUT&#8230;here is another BUT..<strong>.I still think it&#8217;s hilarious, well, actually sad, that you would say you cannot afford to eat like this&#8230;but spend at least one night a week drinking at a bar. </strong> Or a couple hundred bucks on a purse or a new hair-style.  $8-10 for a drink is OK? But a few extra bucks for real food is not? C&#8217;mon!</p>

<p><strong>People, FOOD is  the missing key is. </strong>Don&#8217;t look to me for some super hero workout that&#8217;s going to allow you to eat whatever you want.   And please, do not blame me for your lack of results&#8230;which is caused by your lack of effort.  And yes, you may be young and have no issues with the shit substances we now call food&#8230;.but you will, eventually. <strong> Poor eating and lack of exercise will make you FAT&#8230;if it has not already, and it will eventually make you very unhealthy.</strong> Take a look back down your bloodline right now&#8230;think&#8230;.any weird diseases or genetic issues in your family? Diabetes, heart issues, obese relatives, bone issues, cancers, etc?</p>
<p>In the book, Food Rules, the author says, &#8220;It is better to pay the grocer, than to pay the doctor.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>It&#8217;s hilarious how many people change their &#8216;views&#8217; on things once profit gets involved. </strong> I will find articles on how the kettlebell is not an efficient tool, but then see kettlebells listed on the website&#8230;.of course set up as an affiliate deal.  I remember a couple people swearing against the methods used by Crossfit, then completely turning into a human crossfit advertising machine. Seriously?  The same holds true with olympic lifts,  They hate em one month, useless&#8230;the next we have instructional DVDs being sold on their site, and now it&#8217;s &#8217;something you MUST do&#8217; for total progression.  Never once saying, &#8216;I was wrong&#8217; and have some new info.</p>
<p>Seriously, make up your fuckin mind!</p>
<p>Listen, with no money at stake&#8230;ill let you in on some secrets for the average person.</p>
<p>1.  Only true advanced lifters need to worry about &#8216;changing&#8217; things up very often. Chains, special jackets, state of the art machinery and supplements&#8230;etc.  Most of these other guys keep new clients on the same shit for at least a year, until the basics are met.<br />
2.  If you don&#8217;t squat, learn how.<br />
3.  Deadlifts&#8230;.see #2.<br />
4.  Your cardio should be brief bursts, but intense.<br />
5.  <strong>You CANNOT get a six pack of abs if you are still &#8216;fat&#8217;.</strong> You lose fat, you gain abs.  It does not happen the other way, no matter how many books you read.<br />
6.  Nutrition is going to be argued until the end of time.  There is not many that agree on all.  Just look at how many DOCTORS have come out with completely different diets&#8230;.DOCTORS, not trainers.  Do some research on your own.  I mean real research, not something a supplement ad told you.  <strong>My main rule is to eat real food, not tainted with science.</strong><br />
7.  For you muscle mag readers&#8230;.<strong>many of the top mags are owned by supplement companies.</strong> Ha!  It&#8217;s a great way to advertise your shit.<br />
8.  Your weight loss products are filled with poison and lack real nutrients.<br />
9.  Most protein powders contain soy, which has shown to have negative impact on male testosterone levels over time.  FYI: test is good for muscle growth.<br />
10.  <strong>You are a guinea pig. </strong> You will have to find out what works for yourself.  99% of people CANNOT follow anything 100%.</p>

<p>The biggest secret of them all, which Zach Even Esh posted about&#8230;.it&#8217;s called hard work.<br />
Giving up your favorite shit food for fruit is hard work.  Stretching even tho you&#8217;re in a rush is hard work.  Keeping track of food logs and always striving to make the next killer workout, is hard work.  Cooking your own food, cutting back on portions, or forcing yourself to eat for muscle&#8230;is all hard work.</p>
<p><strong>Fuck that, Mike!  I mean, who has time for all that anyhow?  We have lives, we&#8217;re busy!  That&#8217;s too much work&#8230;</strong></p>
<p>But really, is it?  I think having a real disability and fighting thru it, is really, really, hard work.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s no wonder the diet and supplement industry are so huge&#8230;  People already know the truth.  They would like to think there may be something else tho.  Regardless of what pill does what, and what foods add muscle faster&#8230;it all comes down to ass kicking hard work&#8230;.and discipline.</p>
<p>People these days hate hard work.  Unfortunately for them, they have not invented a pill or powder that keeps you motivated and focused on your goals&#8230;and especially one that makes hard work, easy.  So, if you are not willing be disciplined and put in the hard work&#8230;I have nothing to sell you.</p>
<p>Now stop looking for magic beans and get out there and killlit!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well, the clock hit midnight and all kinds of magical shit happen&#8230;I think.  I fell asleep at 11 and woke up at 1am.  I&#8217;m old and boring now, sorry.</p>
<p>I am not one for resolutions, but here are 5 things I look to really &#8216;get in tune&#8217; with this year.  None of it is new, and none of it is old.  Each topic has about 5 sides to it, and it all takes plenty of time to perfect and make your own ideal.</p>

<p><strong>1.  Eat REAL FOOD a wo/man would eat.</strong> I have talked about this recently and now feel it&#8217;s like beating a dead horse.  But wait, is it a real horse&#8230;or a GMO horse?  HAAA!!  But&#8230;.Just so you know&#8230;I am not &#8216;very&#8217; concerned if a baby cow is taken from it&#8217;s mother, or if cows are being mistreated&#8230;I just don&#8217;t want myself or my family to suffer because of it.  People are getting sick!  And really, if your biggest concern is how an animal is treated and you have to make everyone aware of it&#8230;but have no clue about any of the PEOPLE problems out there&#8230;mistreatment is across the board&#8230;.then what kind of person are you, really?</p>
<p><strong>2.  Be kind to those in need.</strong> Typically,  I am a nice guy at heart.  This year I will go far and beyond to show it.  They were drunk, but I gave em my cooked chicken breast and some bananas I got from the store&#8230;.because they asked for change.  I was hungry, so I went and got more.  My gas tank was on E, and I needed to collect&#8230;but the lady holding a HUNGRY sign got $1 and a can of tuna.  If you really can&#8217;t afford training, but have a real desire to change your life&#8230;I am always looking for that eye of the tiger&#8230;and God will provide.</p>
<p><strong>3.  Relax</strong><strong>. </strong>No, I do not mean with a beer or a vacation.  I am talking about &#8216;de-stressing&#8217; myself thru slow form exercise and meditation&#8230;and of course, prayer.  Thru everyday problems, it builds up.  I would look for a release thru &#8216;killlin&#8217;it&#8217; and it worked, for the moment.  In reality, I was compounding my problems without relaxation.  Stress in every form will ruin you&#8230;some faster than others.  Like I said, no more guessing.  Don&#8217;t you think for one second that this will take anything from my intensity&#8230;actually, it will get stronger once I learn to shut it down when it&#8217;s harmful.</p>
<p><strong>4. </strong><strong>Learn, research and do something. </strong>OK, so, most people question what I say or flat out ignore me because&#8230;.I am not a nutritionist, I haven&#8217;t been training for X amount of years, I don&#8217;t have this X cert&#8230;and so on.  OK, so, tell me this&#8230;why do all these so called &#8216;expert&#8217; trainers, doctors, nutritionists, etc&#8230;.have so many different opinions when it comes to fitness&#8230;and especially FOOD?  Why don&#8217;t you get off your ass and start doing some research and reading on your own&#8230;.genius!  We have doctors who say meat and cheese is all you need and others that tell u to live off beans and rice and avoid all animal products.  Wait&#8230;they&#8217;re all DOCTORS&#8230;so they have to be right.  Right?  Well, for me&#8230;both fitness and food is going to be ol skool, leave the science in the damn classroom.  Get strong and eat real food.  I hated science anyhow&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>5.  Actions. </strong> Stop being a self doubting, energy sucking, negative, pussy!  Contribute to the positive universe and do something!  Your thoughts will become things&#8230;eventually.  If you&#8217;re not where you want to be.  Change it; first in thought, then act upon it&#8230;immediately.</p>
<p><strong>No more waiting on the sidelines for me.</strong></p>

<p>Well, here is my whole take on all the food and crap going on out there.  First off, I am still learning&#8230;we all are.  I just choose to give you the info right away so you can research it for yourself.</p>

<p>Here are some immediate changes I have already made.</p>
<p>1.  NO more sweet &amp; low, period.</p>
<p>2.  Use real, organic butter.</p>
<p>3.  No oils, not even olive oil.</p>
<p>4.  No more soy containing protein powders.</p>
<p>5.  I am avoiding foods that contain most of the fake sugars or hydro oils, which is about 90% of products out there!</p>
<p>6.  No more lowfat or non-fat milk.</p>
<p>7. More nuts.</p>
<p>8.  Less protein in my diet.  Most of my focus will be good natural fats, and a quality source of carbs.</p>
<p>9.  All rice or beans are made at home and pre-soaked overnight&#8230;.at the very least.</p>
<p>10.  All animal products from &#8216;Drug Free- Grass Fed&#8217; animals.</p>
<p>This has not been easy, to say the least.  Most supermarkets (even the ones with healthy names) carry products that have become very good at deceiving the public.  Labels are made different.  Genetically modified products are not being disclosed.  It seems like if it is organic, and real&#8230;the label will tell you 199 times because its just not common.  And, of course, the price will be much higher.</p>
<p>That brings us to the other problem, the price.  Times are tough!  But&#8230;if we continue to demand more and more of it and the other shit doesn&#8217;t sell, they must fill the shelves with better foods. By ignoring the problem and blaming other things, and getting excited because some super freak chicken is on sale&#8230;we are only contributing to the poison.</p>
<p>Just imagine if everything you ate was no longer REAL anymore.  Every single meal contained some type of scientific modification to it.  And, no, I do not mean pasteurizing milk, or removing bacteria from foods.  Whatever&#8230;that is normal.  Pumping a cow or chicken full of super growth hormones is not.  Side question;  for you gym rats, why are steroids &#8217;so BAD&#8217; to take directly? But, it&#8217;s ok for us to consume them thru animals and animal products&#8230;do we not filter them out thru or internal organs anyhow?</p>
<p>I challenge you to do some of your own research on these &#8216;additives&#8217; given to our animals&#8230;.read into the ingredients.  If taking steroids is dangerous for us, then I don&#8217;t want any animals to take them either&#8230;especially before I eat it!</p>

<p>For you veggies&#8230;don&#8217;t give me that shit either&#8230;you eat plenty of dairy products and they all come from the same &#8216;over juiced&#8217; cow that I eat.  Your grains are toxic, your flour is sugar, and soy is flat out dangerous if eaten on a regular basis.  I won&#8217;t even get into the fertility issue this type of diet causes.  All this shit creates estrogen&#8230;and that turns you into a pussy.  Guys, estrogen eats muscle&#8230;ladies, estrogen stores and promotes body fat.</p>
<p>I said it before, I am not a nutritionist and advise you to do some research&#8230;oh wait, you&#8217;re too busy.  So busy that you&#8217;re willing to &#8216;trust&#8217; this sick industry to feed your kids.</p>
<p>8 out of 10 people will say these crackers which boasts &#8220;wheat cracker&#8221; and &#8220;high in fiber&#8221; on the box, as healthy.  Ingredients: soy bean oil, hydronated corn oil, high fructose corn syrup, and that&#8217;s all I need to see&#8230;</p>
<p>Or a certain cereal that says &#8216;Good source of vitamin D&#8217; and it is less than 10% of your daily recommendation.  Here&#8217;s a tip; get your big ass outside once in a while and you will get some natural vitamin D!!  Oh but wait, a little sun will cause cancer and your cock to fall off&#8230;or your boobs to get tied in knots.</p>
<p>Anyhow, this is probably the last you&#8217;ll hear of this topic from me&#8230;for a while.  This type of stuff makes people angry, and I can&#8217;t afford to lose anymore business.  Not to mention, I AM NOT A NUTRITIONIST.  This is all my opinion from research done by others&#8230;much smarter than me.</p>
<p>I am sorry, but you did it to yourself.  Stop accepting allergies, colds, flus, genetic issues, and other shit as common things and dig deeper into the problem.  We are turning farms into science experiments&#8230;we are the guinea pigs.</p>
<p>QUESTION reasons, look up words, look into companies and how your foods are processed.  I think it was Paul Chek who said, &#8216;the biggest myth in the fitness industry is that just because people look good in the mirror&#8230;that means they are healthy&#8217;.</p>
<p>Do you even care what your kids eat?  Just because it is &#8216;legal&#8217; and sold in grocery stores doesn&#8217;t make it good.  The big household names are lying to us on a daily basis, and it pisses me off!</p>

<p><em>Anyhow, on with the show&#8230;</em></p>
<p><strong>Myth:</strong> Heart disease            in America is caused by consumption of cholesterol and saturated fat            from animal products.</p>
<p><strong>Truth:</strong> During the period of rapid increase in heart disease (1920-1960), American consumption of animal fats declined but consumption of hydrogenated and industrially processed vegetable fats increased dramatically. (<em>USDA-HNI</em>)</p>

<p><strong>Myth:</strong> Animal            fats cause cancer and heart disease.</p>
<p><strong>Truth:</strong> Animal fats contain many nutrients that protect against cancer and heart disease; elevated rates of cancer and heart disease are associated with consumption of large amounts of vegetable oils. (<em>Fed Proc</em> July 1978 37:2215)</p>
<p><strong>Myth:</strong> To avoid            heart disease, we should use margarine instead of butter.</p>
<p><strong>Truth:</strong> Margarine            eaters have twice the rate of heart disease as butter eaters. (<em>Nutrition            Week</em> 3/22/91 21:12)</p>
<p><strong>Myth:</strong> Asians            consume large amounts of soy foods.</p>
<p><strong>Truth:</strong> Average consumption of soy foods in Japan and China is 10 grams (about 2 teaspoons) per day. Asians consume soy foods in small amounts as a condiment, and not as a replacement for animal foods.</p>
<p><strong>Myth:</strong> Soy foods            are good for your sex life.</p>
<p><strong>Truth:</strong> Numerous animal studies show that soy foods cause infertility in animals. Soy consumption enhances hair growth in middle-aged men, indicating lowered testosterone levels. Japanese housewives feed tofu to their husbands frequently when they want to reduce his virility.</p>
<p><strong>Myth:</strong> Limit Cholesterol and drink non fat milk. (note: for weight loss, milk is not a good option)</p>
<p><strong>Truth:</strong> <strong>Dietary cholesterol</strong> contributes to the strength of the intestinal wall and helps babies and children develop a healthy brain and nervous system. Foods that contain cholesterol also provide many other important nutrients. Only oxidized cholesterol, found in powdered milk and eggs, contributes to heart disease. Powdered milk is added to 1% and 2% milk.</p>
<p><strong>Eggs</strong> are nature&#8217;s perfect food, providing excellent protein, the gamut of nutrients and important fatty acids that contribute to the health of the brain and nervous system. Americans had less heart disease when they ate more eggs. Egg substitutes cause rapid death in test animals.</p>
<p><strong>Myth: Eat 6-11 servings of grains per day</strong> <strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Truth:  Most grain products</strong> are made from white flour, which is devoid of nutrients. Additives in white flour can cause vitamin deficiencies. Whole grain products can cause mineral deficiencies and intestinal problems unless properly prepared.</p>
<p>I do realize this forces me to re-think many of my food selections, and recommendations&#8230;more on that on the next post!</p>
