Just a song that has meant a lot to me recently, in regards to traveling the path that God has us on at the moment. Learning to step out in faith is not always easy, but the relationship you build with the Lord is definitely worth it!
Many have wondered precisely what to make of social media. Is it simply a fad of the youngsters to be brushed as youthful banter? The stats and motivations behind it would seem to suggest otherwise. Can it be moralized, into something right or wrong? I would suggest that social media is simply an online reflection of an offline desire to communicate. Any sense of morality must come from the motivations of the person(s) involved and their use of such tools. Can it be corralled and controlled? The answer is that at its roots, large groups of people are only one step away from anarchy. Civil wars and riots will generally tell you this. Thus it becomes critical to understand the values and motivations of the crowd in order to influence. But beware; you may influence the crowd and crowd influences you. read more…
Whichever blog or facebook threads you have followed, you have witnessed a challenging struggle for my wife and I over the last 2 and half years as we strived to understand what God was doing in our lives. Or why it seemed that He wasn’t doing anything or so it appeared. With the advent of what appears to be some interesting opportunities coming our way for ministry we are beginning to realize that God has indeed been working all along.
I think I can say with great confidence that under the Lord’s direction Steph and I, desire to change the world. We haven’t gotten a chance to sponsor a Compassion child but I suspect God’s been working in my heart on that too. It an amazing feeling to be recklessly available to God, knowing that humanly speaking I shouldn’t be able to accomplish this but with a willingness to go wherever God asks, doors open up beyond our comprehension. read more…
With shades of Minority Report some interesting concepts floated across my “virtual” desk this morning. While not fully fleshed out by an stretch of the imagination they represent some fundamental thinking regarding the threads and contexts of communications that people desire to accomplish. Even if its difficult to accomplish with current tools, as they say “necessity is the mother of invention.”
