The Royal Challengers Bangalore beat the Delhi Daredevils to give themselves a chance to make it to the playoffs.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore were sent into bat by the Delhi Daredevils. This pitch suited the batsmen from the very start. The crowd was treated to a wonderful blistering century by Chris Gayle.

Chris Gayle’s innings 128 of 62 balls was assisted by Virat Kholi who scored 73 of 53 balls. The Royal Challengers Bangalore set a very stiff target of 215 for the loss of just the one wicket. This was a must win game for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and they did exactly that.

This victory has given the Royal Challengers Bangalore a chance to make it to playoffs if they win their next game. Bowlers from each team were creamed quite a bit. Zaheer Khan and Parmeswaran both picked up three wickets each for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Chris Gayle was the man of the match without doubt.

The Delhi Daredevils were staring down the barrel form the start of the innings itself but they did not go down without a fight. In fact at one time they looked as if they had things under control, but a quick array of wickets saw them fail.

Ross Taylor and Andre Russell were the pick of the batsmen for the Delhi Daredevils; they scored a quick-fire 55 of 26 balls and 31 of 15 balls respectively. Even though the Delhi Daredevils lost this game they stay at the top of the table and have a place in the playoffs secured.

Virender Sehwag was unwell and Morne Morkel was rested for the playoffs.

Varun Aaron was the least expensive bowler for the Delhi Daredevils giving 38 runs from his 4 overs and picking the solitary wicket. Rest of the bowlers all had economy rates of 10 plus runs an over.

The Delhi Daredevils ended up losing the game only by 21 runs, which speaks a lot about the passion and determination of the Delhi boys.
